Review №1

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience with Replicated Grass Systems. The ownership proved to be very unprofessional and they essentially abandoned my project once the lawn was installed. There was one structural issue that needed to be resolved and RPG’s means of resolving it was to terminate all communication with me.I met with Ron, RPG’s estimator/owner, twice before committing to my project. The second meeting was simply to ensure that my front yard would be graded to make it as level as possible. To accomplish this, Ron decided that a bobcat would be needed and therefore there would be an additional charge for this. I agreed to proceed and I asked Ron if he would be present during my project. He said that would not be necessary because “his crew would know what to do”.When RPG’s crew arrived for my project, the foreman immediately asked me what they were supposed to do. He stated that he did not have a copy of my contract, so I offered to make a copy for him. He declined and said to “just tell him what to do”. I suggested that he contact Steve, one of the owners, to ensure that he knew the details of my project. I then reviewed the project with him and explained that the bobcat was to be used to level the area as much as possible. When I checked on the crew’s progress at lunchtime, I noted that they had constructed a 2-foot retaining wall at the low corner of my front yard. This was required since the surface was relatively level as we agreed. The project was completed at nightfall in just one day even though Ron had told me that it would take at least two days. The next morning, I inspected the new lawn and noted that the retaining wall was not supported properly. The crew had simply hammered 2x4s into the dirt at odd angles to support the wall (see photos). I let Steve know that although I was happy with the new lawn, the retaining wall needed to be supported better than it was.Steve noted that a retaining wall was not in the contract and he wasn’t sure how that happened. Regardless, his crew built it and it wasn’t done properly. He agreed that repairs were needed and he would get back to me after he consulted with his crew on how to proceed with the repairs.I did not hear back from anyone at RPG, so after about a month I reached back out to Steve to schedule for the repairs. I never got a response. I then reached out to Ron and he replied via text to “please give Steve a call to have us schedule your repair. Sorry about this”. After several attempts to contact both Steve and Ron with no replies, I eventually gave up.Ultimately RPG charged my credit card with the full contract amount and never reached out to me to make the necessary repairs or even discuss the matter any further. Therefore, I had no choice but to do the repairs myself. It took me over two full days and additional expense to complete my project. Why the abandonment? Clearly this is not the way a reputable business operates. It would have been fairly easy to just have the crew return to repair the wall and make it right. Therefore, there simply is no reasonable excuse for such complete disregard and total lack of communication with one of your customers.
