The customer service was amazing. The associate was knowledgeable, professional and personable. She made the shopping experience effortless. I wish I knew her name so I could give her a shout out.
There was some ladies shopping and the worker constantly followed them me and my wife and one other lady every step we went one of the ladies asked her why she was all on her back she tried to say that she was just stalking the shelves but we clearly watched her watch in the little nearest on the ceiling then she walks over watches us and the other customers goes around to the register and quietly whispers to the other worker then comes back talking about one of the ladies accusing her of stealing and filling her pocketbook up with stuff when she clearly done none of that I know as a eyewitness the lady did not steal anything what Sally needs to realize is that lady was about to spend a pretty good amount of money with them but due to theyre like over respect for their customers they lost me my wife and the other three ladies so put together the amount of money they just lost over falsely accusing our customer. Sallys I hope you get your standards and employees on track if not yall will be out of business before you know it thank you and have a great day...

I visited the Hickory store three times in the last month to purchase my hair gel of choice and they didnt have it (due to low stock). They suggested I try another brand until they got mine in (at NO RISK because I could get a refund if I didnt like it). I tried the brand they suggested, but it made my hair flat. I promptly returned it for a refund. The clerk at the Hickory store, pressured me into trying yet another brand that she said many people like. I was reluctant because I didnt want to waste my money. She again assured me that it was at no risk because I could get a full refund if I didnt like it. This was on 12/4/2020. I tried it twice but it didnt provide the volume for my hair that it promised, so I went to return it. Upon entering the store, they quickly informed me they werent taking returns due to COVID as of 12/12/20 and now had a sign posted at the checkout. This is a decision made by their company specifically because I immediately went to another store (not Sallys) and received a prompt refund for another item I had purchased. This caused me to question them further about promising a refund just a week ago (the same clerk that made the promise was the one telling me I couldnt get a refund). They just apologized (not very sympathetically) and couldnt tell me when I could get a refund. At my request, they gave me the number to customer service if I wanted to complain. I immediately called customer service and explained my frustration. I felt very patronized by them even after speaking to a supervisor. My family owns a business, and we know the importance of being true to our word. My receipt is dated 12/4 which is dated before 12/12, when the no returns policy was implemented. I explained I would have no problem if I was informed prior to the purchase or if the return policy had been changed by the officials (out of their control). However, this was a company decision. I believe they should honor returns from purchases made prior to 12/12, even if they have to throw the product away. As a business, your word is your word. Without trust and integrity, a company wont have returning customers and wont make it for the long haul! They get to decide when they will give me my refund (virtually holding my money hostage). Whats right about that?!!?! I will never shop at Sally Beauty again and I will tell everyone I know about my experience with them. Ill pay three times the price for the product before they ever get a dime of my money again! If I dont get a satisfactory answer or a prompt refund, my next step is to share my story on social media.
I’m new to the hickory area and I must say that this is the biggest and best Sally’s I have ever been too ! The customer service is amazing . I came in yesterday at around two o’clock to look for some natural hair products . They have a pretty good variety of different types of hair products for my hair . I needed help since I’m transitioning from being natural . The ethnic assistant manager was indeed very nice and professional ! . She not only showed me what would be best for my natural hair, but also helped me pick out a flat iron too on the days that I didn’t want to wear my curls . I actually forgot my mask in my car and the associates offered me one, which is great because it protects myself and others around me durning these hard times . I will most defiantly be back at this store . All of the associates greeted me when walking in the store . Also told me about there promotions that I didn’t even know they had, which made me more interested . Thank you again to the ethnic manager for helping me with my natural hair . If it wasn’t for your recommendations I wouldn’t know what to get !

This is the best Sally’s by far ! I drive 30 extra minutes just to come here ! The staff is very warm and welcoming, especially the assistant manager Keesha ! . She is very knowledgeable & helped me find a product for my dry damaged hair & in love with my new product . Will be back soon !
I have a Aunt that loves Sallys and told everyone this year she wants gift cards from there for Christmas. So yesterday on December 18 2020 I went into Sallys in Hickory NC to buy a gift card for a Christmas gift. Today I went to put the gift card into a gift card box and noticed the card look like it had been used alot. So I called the store and explained it was old looking and a gift could I exchange it for a new one. The lady told me due to covid-19 they couldnt take it back. I said you can sell me a old dirty card but you cant take it back and just give me a new one. She said no. So if I come in to use the card will you take it then. Yes Im sure they would. So she gave me costumers service number to call and complain to. I called and after waiting over 18 minutes on the phone someone hung up on me. This is bull. Everyone is out for themselves and will screw anyone over if they get a chance. Merry Christmas Sally! I posted a pic of the card and of the phone call.Edited* Costumer service called me back and listen to what had happened and asked me for the stores address and phone number. She said she was calling them to tell them to give me a new card and she asked me to hold while she spoke to them. 16 minutes later c.s. came back on phone to talk to me and she said she called but someone there laid down the phone and they never came back to her! She asked me to wait a little longer as she waited. Almost 30 minutes (posting picture of this call too) into this call THIS TIME c.s. came back on phone and said they still had her in hold and she didnt know what to tell me! She suggested I just go all the way back and tell them what she had said. I told her no. I live 25 minutes from there just to go up there and them not to believe me. She said then I guess just call back Monday! This time I hung up on them. Merry Christmas Aunty from your favorite store!

It was clean and stocked nicely but Customer service here sucks very rude and unprofessional. I go to the register to check out she doesnt even say hello or ask how are you or anything she just says phone number. Didnt say thanks have a nice day or anything . They need to get someone in here who cares about their job and what they do. I needed a little help on hair tinting didnt even bother to ask her because she was so rude. I will not go here again .
The black girl that works in here has a terrible attitude every single time I visit this location. A mutual friend even mentioned the same thing after coming there.

The place is nice and well stocked. My problem is the experience I had with the staff. I politely declined help from the older white lady, and then I noticed she monitored my movements the entire time I was in the store! WHILE THERE WAS OTHER CUSTOMERS IN THE STORE!!! I have no need to steal hair products and definitely will not be back to the store just to be singled out and followed around the store.
I have always loved Sallys, and Ive been a customer for a while, but today my son and I went in to find some hair dye to color his hair blue. I had never done bright colors, so I was a little intimidated. The man that was working today was so helpful, he knew exactly what we needed, hooked us up, and my sons hair came out looking wonderful! Great customer service!

Great customer service! I told the lady helping me what I needed and she was very professional and told me what I needed to correct my hair. Most other places, the employees are not educated on hair products so, this was great that this Sallys Beauty employee knew a lot about hair care. I will be back.

I absolutely love Sallys Beauty shops!!! Im a beauty club member and it saves me a lot of money throughout the entire store. Every month they run specials on haircare, makeup, skincare, everything you need to be your most beautiful self! They also carry ethnic products and mens care items.
Whether youre the manliest man, the girliest girl, or somewhere in between, youre bound to find whatever you need in this store as it covers a the whole gamut of hairstyling needs. Their generics save you ducats galore, and the staff are extremely knowledgeable. Ive even managed to impress a hairstylist or two regurgitating information Ive retained from there. The only issue thus far? Finding personnel to disperse aforementioned knowledge should the front counter be occupied.

Absolutely love shopping at sallys. They have all the products that I cant find anywhere else and I have gotten some great great deals here.

Overall easy store layout, Ive had a mixed experience with staff being curtious to snobby. It depends on whos working. I recommend them in a pinch or on a beauty budget.
