I love Corner Bakery and wanted them to do my wedding cake and some white and gold cookies and cream macaroons for my wedding. They absolutely exceeded my expectations. The macaroons were barely out for 2 seconds at our reception and the guests loved them they were immediately all in eaten. The cake brought tears to my eyes with how beautiful it was. I simply could not have been more impressed with their work and the cake was DELICIOUS. We got blueberry and lemon flavors and it was so delicious that we were speechless. Couldn’t be happier and would highly recommend

Sooo yummy! They made a beautiful three layered cake for my nieces wedding last week. One layer was vanilla and the other two strawberry (flavor choice of the bride and groom). Its a good thing they said there was no need to save the top layer for the one year anniversary (apparently they honor making a small anniversary cake for the couple for free), because the cake was nearly demolished by the wedding guests. It was not only beautiful but moist. Weve also been spoiled at work by some of the sweet treats they make daily. The cream horns rarely last and the picture I have to offer is what was left after the top two layers of goodies were snatched.

Corner Bakery made our son’s 1st birthday smash cake at very last minute (day before his party - due to confusion with another bakery). AMAZED by their customer service & baking! Will be using them again for all our baking needs.

Simply the BEST! The cupcakes are the best Ive ever had...so delicious no matter what the flavor. Just had a birthday cake made for my husband and it wowed our entire family...even my non-cake-eating brother-in-law had to have a big slice and went in for seconds the next morning! I took them a photo and they did an amazing job on my Mom’s birthday cake. It was stunning and tasted great.

We stopped in this morning for our very first time and picked up an assortment of goodies to take home to try. We tried an apple turnover, a cherry turnover, a lemon bar, a piece of tiramisu and a piece of the combo brownie cookie thingee. Wow, everything was excellent!! Well worth the stop! Also, the place was very clean, good easy parking, the prices super reasonable, portion sizes great, and the counter person was nice, pleasant, and professional.

Everything we have gotten is fantastic. We try to get something different each time we go and so far our hands down favorite is the cream horns. Followed by the cream puffs. Today we got the Boston cream, red velvet and wedding cake cupcakes, all of them were delicious!! Definitely going back!

Very disappointing. I had cakes from here under the old owner and they always tasted top notch. Had blueberry cupcakes for a shower. They looked beautiful and smelled a hint of blueberry. Could not taste anything blueberry in the cupcake. I had left over cupcakes that I did not want to take home. Decided to eat another one and figure out where the blueberry was. The cake portion was milly and tasted No blueberry. Ate a little icing and No blueberry. The icing was not the greatest. I have eaten better things from Walmart.

We have had some really delicious desserts at Corner Bakery that we have shared with friends. But today I got cupcakes that were not done in the middle & could not eat them Easter coconut, banana pudding, and pineapple ( 1 dozen) total.

I ordered a cake for my husband’s birthday. When I cut the cake the strawberries looked old and the cake mushy! Also the cake was sliding when my son picked up the cake. Paying $50 for a great cake is understandable, but this one was definitely NOT worth anything close to that! Total disappointment!!

Went there for the first time today, I had the loaded red velvet cupcake. It was delicious! I will be going back!

Prices are still too high for some items. The new owners kept most everything the same price as the old owners did. Still have to resort to the cookie store in the mall for all of our cookie needs cause they still insist on baking sugar cookies with 4 million hard as a rock sprinkles in them. Yuck! Not everyone likes hard as a rock cookies. Cupcake flavors are hit and miss. Much like before, they are only available for a week or two at a time. If you work and can’t get there til a couple hours before closing, most everything is gone by then. Really hoped new owners would change a few things, but oh well. We’ll stick to the chain stores where we can at least have some consistency and a decent sugar cookie.

They are way to busy - go somewhere else that will make time to make your cake.

CornerStone Bakery has the best looking & best tasting cakes ever! I decided to order my 9 year old & 6 year old birthday cake from here this year because I wanted a fancy looking cake for their Birthday party. Their party was on a Saturday & I went in on a Thursday to order the cake thinking I might be out of luck because I did go in & try to order a large cake with extremely short notice. To my surprise the employees there were very helpful & so so nice! They walked me threw every step of the cake from the size to the lettering! When I ordered the cake on that Thursday & went Saturday afternoon to pick it up I was extremely shocked at how beautiful the cake actually was! Mind you I have only ever ordered Food Lion deli cakes so I was very excited about how beautiful my sons birthday cake really was & how big! Now lets talk about how delicious the cake was! IT WAS SOOOO GOOD! It was vanilla cake with buttercream icing (I never order buttercream icing because I usually dont like it) & strawberry cheesecake filling....yeah I know that sounds amazing well it WAS! The cake itself was so moist its like a pleasure for the mouth you never want to go away. The buttercream icing was so smooth & velvety & the right amount of sweetness. Not that over powering sweetness thats to much you can only take one or two bites of but more like a enjoyable sweetness that you can eat & eat but never get sick of. Then the strawberry cheesecake filling was the perfect touch to the entire cake because it was layered about 4 or 5 time so every bite you got strawberry cheesecake filling. All of that ties the cake together in the most perfect way. I ate cake for breakfast for 5 days straight because it was that good. I will never order a grocery store cake again because of CornerStone & I have 4 children & a husband so I look forward to these cakes 4 to 5 times a year! Lucky me right?

Customer service was excellent. They were patient with my questions and helpful with suggestions. They packed the box carefully and all the cookies arrived with no broken pieces, she went over and above on my order. Of course the choices and baked goods were delicious. A bit pricey but if you need perfection and quality its in order and the experience was flawless. Thank you and Happy New Year.

This was recommended by Brown mountain beach resort, the venue we were getting married. We went and did a taste testing. The gentlemen is taller with dark hair, I forgot his name. Everything was fantastic and the flavor was great. The wedding and the cupcakes went off without a hitch. The cake tasted fantastic and he recommended a bunch of different types of flavors. Everyone loved them and they were super fresh. I would recommend this to anyone. And by the way their cinnamon rolls are out of this world good, probably the best I’ve ever had !! Thank you so much and we can’t thank you enough for making our day so special💜

This has always been our Go To Bakery and weve been going here for many years. Ill also mention how weve tried about everything they offer and the desserts are always wonderful. We also tried a cupcake from the winner of Cupcake Wars on TV Happy Cakes and we determined that Cornerstone is much better. Keep up the great work!!!

Cornerstone Bakery is a cute little bakery located in a strip mall that is opposite to a variety of good restaurants in a convenient area in Hickory. The staff is friendly and laidback, happy to accommodate any packaging of purchased items or custom cakes, etc. The bakery selection isnt as vast as other bakeries Ive been to and their hours of operation change frequently; however, theyre renowned for their cupcakes - which Ill agree, those are my favorite. 😋 I also highly recommend their brownies, 7-layer-bars and lemon bars, because they are all are equally delicious in their own right. Overall, a good bakery with very friendly, attentive staff and wonderful baked goods!

I stopped in today for the first time ever. Cute little shop, has some tables and chairs for people to sit and enjoy there, but I grabbed mine to go. Staff was very friendly and quick. I ordered a lemon bar, a couple of macarons, cake truffles, and cream puffs. I loved the filling of the cream puffs, I wouldnt say that its a traditional filling, its a bit more dense but delicious nonetheless. The cake truffles were heavy but well worth the price. The cake truffle was dense and a bit gooey almost. Macarons were classic and delicious but very very sweet.Now the bad news. The lemon bar was very disappointing. The bar was a nice big square, but it was 70% (if not more in spots) crust. The taste of the lemon part was good, but so much crust really dried out the bite. Ill be back again Im sure, but most likely will skip the lemon bars next time.

Here is my review for Cornerstone bakery I thought the ladys were very nice.but as for the cupcakes and cake I have had better from Sams club the taste was good but the cupcake its self was to heavy .it wasnt what I thought it would be for the price you pay,just to over priced will be the first and last time I go there.

Im so happy I finally stopped in to try this bakery out! The service was excellent, and the variety of pastries was solid. You get high quality sweets for a very reasonable price, where the same thing would cost triple in a larger city and not be as good. Will definitely be going back for the macaroons and cake.

My daughter has been asking for Macaroons for weeks. We stopped at Cornerstone on her birthday and bought all that they had. Excitement turned to disappointment because they were terrible tasting. They looked pretty and the consistency was great but they tasted like the food coloring or something was all we could taste. I was tempted to take them back and ask them taste them. Next time taste test before selling. I’m hopeful this was just a bad batch and will give them one more chance but for $2 each I will try one next time before we buy a bunch to throw away.

I stop by here all the time and get too many sweets!! Its all good! The coconut cake though😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 but also, pound cakes, sugar cookies, great cupcakes, dog treats my dog loves too!!

I ordered a 6 inch vanilla cake and 3 dozen vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream for a bridal shower and they were SO delicious! Everybody at the shower loved them! I ordered them over the phone and was hesitant about if they would match what I was describing but they were perfect! I would recommend this bakery 100%!

Excellent service i trully recomend this place, a friend of mine cancel my cake order three weeks before my wedding and they save my day. My sisters did the cake taste for me, they promissed me i was not gonna be desapoint about the order. They bring the cake to Morganton and safely place it on the table, they were 5 pieces cake different flavors. Everybody enjoy the cake flavor and the style i do really recomend this place for your events.

I’m a huge huge fan of macarons and have tried many different places’, but Cornerstone Bakery still has the number one spot. Perfect macarons, and kind staff.

In early May, my wife and I decided to check out the furniture stores in Hickory. We left early and had breakfast at Cornerstone Bakery. I take no pleasure in saying this, but it is probably the worst bakery Ive ever eaten in. I ordered two cinnamon roles. They were uncooked and contained a miniscule amount of cinnamon; I essentially ate partially baked dough. My wife had a chocolate chip cookie and it had 7 chips in it total. We plan to go back to Hickory and check out furniture, but we expect the bakery to be closed by then given poor word of mouth. Avoid this place.

Its always great, except it makes me gain weight. Lol the tiramisu and the 7 layer bars are my favorites. But with all the sweet treats they would be better if they had coffee instead of bottled soda.

Stopped in to pick up a cake for someone and decided to try a couple of cupcakes. They were horrible. The cake tasted like it had been in the freezer for a long time, was not moist and soft and had no flavor. One cupcake was yellow buttercream and the other was supposed to be cake batter. They tasted the same. I wouldnt go back again.

This place makes awesome gourmet cupcakes. Be prepared to leave with a variety of cupcakes because its almost impossible to pick just one or two.

My friend and I went in today and bought a Nutella cupcake, a tiramisu slice and a couple of the red velvet cake bites. It was all delicious. The cake bites and cupcake were not dry at all, and the tiramisu was some of the best I’ve ever had. Everything had great flavor, and the establishment was clean, and the staff were kind.

Stopped there yesterday got a blueberry cheesecake cupcake and a strawberry crumble both were gross! I would say cupcakes from Walmart taste better than this over priced bakery!!

Gluten free is not really gluten free. I purchased a GF item and got so sick from it. Come to find out their cross contamination goes to a whole other level. They use utensils covered in regular flour for their GF items!!! They are not conscientious of allergies like they claim to be!!! DO NOT RISK IT!!!!! I was appalled by the managers customer service, he was arrogant and rude. If you want quality items that are clean and safe to eat and some good quality service save your time and go somewhere else!!!!!!! I give 1 star only because 0 is not an option.

Grandaughter wanted cupcakes Friday night so we stopped . I got a vanilla with chocolate buttercream, it was the worst cupcake ever. It was so dry and the icing was so hard. It had to have been in there a week. Threw it in the trash can after one bite.

I have tasted cakes from here that were amazing, but when my family visited last week for cupcakes/treats, I wasnt impressed. The cake was dry, icing was hard, cheesecake tasted like basically cream cheese and nothing else.

I used to enjoy this place however lately Ive found that the cupcakes have been dry. They state that make them fresh. Also, my friend and I went here after they stated they had specials (first day of specials). We had to drive across town since the other store closed. After arriving, we waited 20 minutes in the drive-thru because the poor girl was so busy inside (with no help). She apologized and when we stated what we wanted, she said they were completely out. My friend saw an IG post and another customer said the same thing. Their excuse was a Sorry-not-sorry by saying we are sorry HOWEVER we were closed for a week, you should have called, blah blah. I get you wanted to take off a week, good for you. Other people do not get that option so by saying you get a week off is RUDE. You are basically telling the disappointed customer, it is their fault that YOUR BUSINESS was out of cupcakes. Maybe if you made them fresh, they wouldnt be so dry and you would have them available in a few minutes. Do not promote something and not have it. Also, learn the CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT rule if you want more business. Bunch of YAHOOS!
