First thing you must realize is Trane supply Stores are set up to sell professional HVACR technicians, Trane parts and are usually not set up to supply all makes and models. Very good manager went out of his way to help me with non Trane part, was there from out of town working and not familiar with area supply houses, other counter person not as helpful, clean and organized store, will go back when working in area,

Called about a part and it was close to closing so the guy told me to call back next day with model and serial number. I had told him it wasnt a Trane but the part I needed was interchangeable. Next day called back and gave guy who answered the serial number and what part it was, he asked what brand and immediately told me no they didnt have the part. Didnt ask for the part number. Waited about 10 minutes had my son call back in his best good old country boy accent and wow they was calling him sir and yes they had the part. Sexist arses. Somebody in charge down there needs to get with the fact that they arent the only parts place around and treating ALL their customers equally is GOOD for business.

John and Jerry are top notch guys when we need Trane parts and HVAC supplies, in response to the guy above.....they dont want to sell to homeowners due to liability plus theyre cutting their own throats because when licensed contractors see them selling to homeowners it makes us want to go somewhere else. Keep up the good work guys!

The Trane parts facility Id rather go to. John and the guys always have the right part first time. All of my parts are bought thru the Hickory Trane department.

Im just a regular guy. Mechanical engineer by day and my wife and I have a handful of rental properties that I deal with in my spare time. When we buy a new rental property, there are 3 things that I do, replace all plumbing, Install a new water heater and install a new HVAC system. Most of the houses we buy are foreclosures so the HVAC system is typically missing anyway.. Needless to say all 7 of our houses currently run 1 if not 2 Trane systems partially because the gentleman I typically call for HVAC systems puts these in. All of our systems vary in age from 2 years old to 11 years old. I had a blower motor go out in one of our units and since the house was vacant and I had some spare time I figured that I would replace it myself this time. I called Trane in Hickory for the blower motor and was given a price in the 350 dollar range. CC Dickson has the motor for 150 dollars. So I called the Trane store back and asked why such a difference... because Im not a licensed HVAC installer was their response. I get marking it up a little because Im not an installer but double the price plus.. So I ordered the blower motor from CC Dickson. When I received it, it did not have the two rubber motor mounts that allow the motor to fit into the cradle. I called CC Dickson back and they said they could have it the next day and the cost was $2 each (2 required $4 total). Wanting to see if the Trane store might have them in stock, I called them and they said yes they did and the price would be $12 each $24 total. After hearing this and remembering the blower motor cost difference as well, I told the gentlemen that if this is the way Trane does business with their end users, that the unit I purchased 3 years ago might be the last one I purchase. I wasnt rude or abrupt, simply taken back at the mark up. The gentleman on the phone who identified himself as John said they no longer had the item I was looking for in stock and hung up the phone. This will be my last Trane Unit. I will phase them out to a Goodman or a Rheem or someone else after I do some research. Thank you John at Trane in Hickory Nc, Typically I just pay a service gentleman to fix these problems and have no clue about your company or how you deal with the end user, so thank you very much for making me aware.
