Rented a storage unit, and received an email the same day saying my unit was found empty and wanted to know if I wanted to close the account. Before I could respond they sent me a cancellation notice. Now this is just 6 hours after I rented the unit. Called like 8-9 time before a lady answered. I explained what happened but she was very rude saying they were only doing their job. Really? Canceling my rental before I even have a chance to put anything in it? Got no where with her called corporate and told them what happened. They agreed to send me a refund but only refunded $62 less than half what I paid ($138). PLACE IS A RIP-OFF!!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

This place did not put your belonging there. For 2 months I have tied to go down there to pay my bill nobody never in the office cause of covid . I call to arrange to meet up with them to pay the bill never showed up. I dont pay nothing with credit card. So they sold my belongings without notifying me. This place is the worst place to put your belongings . They dont even deserve 1 star.

Good Place. Only thing that bothers Me is, The Units could be Cleaned out. At least made some kinda effort to clean the units out.

They charge you for a lock I never asked for then say just bring it to the office and we can credit it back to your card but then nobody is at the office and I drove 8 hours to drop the stuff there. Light in unit doesnt work and drywall tape is falling off. Very tight to get around with truck and trailer

The day after Christmas this year 2020 I tried to rent some space from them. The check-in process was easy enough, however when I went to my 10x10 unit there was a two and a half foot threshold. This made it impossible to unload my equipment. I was at the facility no longer than 20 minutes with check-in and all. Return to the office to tell him the space would not work they had no other ground level space to offer. The associate was rude cold and just not very helpful. I asked for a refund only to receive two-thirds of what I paid.I didnt think you could get bad service from a public storage facility. Complete disregard for good old fashioned customer service. My hope is this facility has a prosperous 2021 charging people for things they dont use.

This is a very nice facility! The girl in the office was very helpful and answered every single question I asked(and I asked a lot!). Would recommend to family and friends!

To be such a large place the grounds where in good condition

I have been locked out of my unit since May 2021. I have called and left multiple messages, no response. I go by the office to try to speak with someone every week during business hours and no body is there! I have no idea what to do.

Not so happy with this place. Ive been there for a few years and they keep raising the price. I started at 160.00 a month and now they have moved me to 228.00 a month. Never missed any payments. Never late. You think they would want to keep people like me there. I guess not.

I called and asked about units and April help me out and explained everything to me and I will be doing an online rental when I move to Hickory in the next three months.

I couldnt get in the gate because my code wouldnt work. The two women working there are sitting in a cart on the other side but wont do anything. They tell me to back up and go in office. I have two cars behind me so theres no where to go. I have to get out and tell them to backup so I can backup. As soon as I do this they open the gate and come out. I start to go in the office and the older woman comes out and says I told you to go in the office real nasty. I go in and they give me a code. I empty my unit out and go in and tell them. I ask if Ill get any of my money back since I just paid my bill for June and Im told no thats for the whole month no refunds. Its a nice little racket they have going. I wasnt even in the unit one whole day it cost me $111.00. Theyll never have to worry about me using them again. All I can say is beware. This is at the hickory location.

I took advantage of reserving a storage unit online. I was called promptly. When I arrived, I was served with courtesy and the appropriate information needed. I very quickly had the storage unit and all the instructions as to how to access. Before the morning was over my items were secured on their premise. Thanks for making my experience pleasant, productive, and hassle-free. *** And oh yeah, thanks for the great deal that the online reservation this month made possible.

Stopped by to get a unit for my daughter, and the office door was locked. No one was anywhere to be found. After waiting 10 minutes I finally left and went over to the Extra storage space where the staff went OVER AND BEYOND to help us. Do NOT waste your time here

One of the worst experiences I have ever had. Missed one payment of $2.30 because of the holidays and the company isnt willing to work with me to solve a $60 fee. The woman at the office showed no empathy at all and offered no way to work with the situation. Will be paying it all and taking everything out. Good bye a year of service for a $60 fee

Olivia was so helpful! She answered every question we had and was very patient while we were making decisions. It would be much more helpful to have more information given online or in the call center. No information about needing insurance was given online or when we called in to the call center. Moving is always stressful and even though we werent given all the information we needed over the phone or online, Olivia made the experience as seamless as possible.

I easily reserved my unit online. As soon as I finished I received a phone call from Jessica to confirm my reservation. I drove to Public Storage where I was also greeted by Jessica. She was very nice and helpful. She provided me with all of the knowledge I needed to successfully rent my unit. I was very impressed and cannot wait to use my storage building.

I stopped in a few days ago to get some information about storage that I would need in about month. Nicole and Jessica were very helpful and even took me to look at units even though they knew I wouldnt need it for a while. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. I will definitely recommend them!

During my short use of the Hickory location from Sept 2015 to March 2016, the service and the staff were exceptional. I felt that my belongings were kept secure without ever having an uneasy feeling of its condition. Finally, exceptional staff and service at this location. The only complaint I have com es at the corporate level with the recent policy of prorating upon moving out. This decision is a joke with a reasonable notice to its customers.

Was very easy to get set up with a unit and took about fifteen to twenty minutes. The office staff (Nicole or Olivia - I cant remember which one worked with us) was cheerful, courteous, and took care explaining different insurance options (something the telephone representatives neglected to mention!). I would highly recommend this location!

The site itself is fine, clean, and well maintained, BUT thats it.My gripe is the false pricing advertising online. I was supposed to get a unit for $1 for the first month. I assumed the second month would be included for the first payment, so I was prepared to pay around $25.00, but this was not the case.INSTEAD, they charge a $22.00 administration fee for the first month (NOwhere is this included in the online advertisements), so really, you do NOT get a unit for $1.00 the first month.In addition they REQUIRE YOU TO PURCHASE THEIR INSURANCE, which is also $15 a month minimum. Again, NO WHERE IS THIS POSTED ON THE WEBSITE, and it is IN ADDITION TO the unit. So the MINIMUM MONTHLY CHARGE IS $30, not $15, for the 5x5. When I explained I already have renters insurance, the idiot behind the counter informs me I have to pay for their insurance up front, and THEN they will remove it when I provide proof of insurance. So the first month would have been OVER $50.00 with fees taxes, and insurance. I told them to stuff it. THEY SHOULD CORRECTLY DISPLAY AND DISCLOSE ALL PRICES INCLUDING MANDATORY FEES AND INSURANCE UP FRONT AND ON THE WEBSITE AND IN THE OFFICE BEFORE SHOWING A UNIT. PERIOD.

Ive used this place in the past and returned recently because of how well I was treated years ago. I had the pleasure of meeting Kelsey and Nicole who helped me with the two storage units I rented, one permanent and the other short term. After I realized I actually needed a larger unit, the admin fee was waived and I paid the difference and got into the larger one for a few bucks more. A+ company.

Took advantage of 50% off promo it was a decent deal. They force you to take insurance even though I declined. Gates are working only sometimes its a crapshoot on which gate you can go in at any given time. Other than that a clean facility.

I had a young lady, I think name was Kelsey. She went above and beyond in helping me with everything I needed.

I HAD to have a storage facility due to an urgent home crisis. After searching for a couple of days I decided on this business. I went online and rented a 10x10 unit. I printed out two statements that said my total move in cost would be $23.00 - even though they advertise the 1st months rent is only $1.00. So I go down to sign the paperwork etc. I was told the amount due would be $56.32! They charged me $18.99 plus tax for a lock! They said I HAD to use theirs; said I HAD to pay for insurance. So I paid that on 4/18. At that point I was over a barrel and had to get my things into a storage unit. Then on 5/1 I had to pay $30.76. Then at the end of that month I had to pay $71.00.My review is zero if I could rate it that way - simply because the girls in the local office have no clue what the companys refund policy is. THERE IS NO REFUND for a partial month. I paid Julys rent on 6/30 - moved out on 7/3 and now Im SCREWED out of $71.00 well $60 something if they pro-rate it - but they DONT. But I had two different girls in the office tell me otherwise! First girl said I missed getting a refund on move out day because I missed the cutoff date by one day. The second girl told me I could have gotten a refund if I had not paid my rent! If I hadnt paid, what would there be to refund?? She referred me to corporate who advised its in the rental agreement I signed that there is no refund. Which is true, its in there on page one, but the girls in the office dont know its there, why should I?? Terrible way to do business.They gouge you on price and extras. The first month only being $1.00 is an outright lie. The facility was clean is the best thing I can say about it. If you can, Id advise shopping around.

I would like to retract my great review I have upon moving my parents belongings into this public storage. These people will tell you anything at move in...EVEN LIE...to get you to move your stuff in their faculty. They will give you a price, tell you theyll prorate partial months amd then when it comes right down to it, theyll deny they said it! There is one girl there that literally said and I quote Yeah, Ive heard Nicole say that to people before but its not true. I told her that as a customer, I dont appreciate being lied to. She then apologized profusely and said that she hated her job. I asked to speak to Nicole herself and was told she wasnt there. I asked if she was expected to be in the next day and this woman actually said She better be cuz its MY day off. This place is a joke. Very unprofessional. Im telling everyone I know not to trust these clowns. Just awful.

!BEWARE! The workers will steal your stuff. Just ask Hickory police dept how many break ins has been reported there. There is no security cameras facing your unit. They are fake cameras. They lie to you when you move in. Our unit wouldnt close all the way at bottom so stuff that wasnt stole is ruined from mold. Told is to go get our own strip to fix it. Never answer the phone in the office or call you back. Worst company ever!

I rented a parking space for my Jeep and trailer just for the week. I tow my motorcycle up from Charleston SC and then ride up through Pisgauh and Jefferson parks, camping, etc. Is such a deal for $24 for the month even when using for a shorter period than that. Nicole is the best, very helpful, and got me on my way in minutes.Robert M.
