So I was in the area this past Thursday curious to see what Parr was about. I heard that it was a good place to shop other than the other big box stores. With lumber prices nuts at the moment, I wanted to give this place a shot.I was blown away from the quality of material they had, however the prices were just as crazy. Had a conversation with the guys at the front and they educated me what the situation is when it came to sheeting and lumber. The customer service was impressive! Been a while since Ive talked with people who had a sense of care. Didnt walk out with anything... however I will be going back because of the people that run the place.
Resourceful and never had a bad time here.. the front people were helpful and the yard was friendly. There was a gentlemen named Q who really helped me with decking and questions. Referred me to Robert who was informative as well. All in all highly recommend this place!
Been using Parr Lumber for my outdoor projects when I need higher quality lumber and service for the last 12 years ( try find that at the big boxes stores). Never was let down, but recently with the lumber shortages, the mills are not paying as much attention to quality control, which is out of Parrs hands. Neverless, as expected Parr did stand up to their good reputation and service, and helped me with replacing a small bundle of pressure treated lumber for my deck that were mixed in the middle of others and were really bad dimensionally. They went above and beyond, by ensuring I was satisfied, despite not being their fault. Thats customer service, Par(r) to none .Yes, I will remain a loyal customer and keep coming back for more outstanding service and good quality wood (eventually)

I was very disappointed in my last experience with Parr Lumber Hillsboro.I purchased $6,800 worth of Timber Tech decking which included a railing package. I was told by Robert the deck expert, that the materials would be delivered the following week. As stated, I got a call from the delivery person and he dropped off a pallet of decking. Two days later when I opened the delivery I noticed that I was missing all of the railing was missing. I did not receive a call from Robert letting me know that my product was back ordered. Only when I left a message, did I receive a call back indicating that the product was indeed back ordered, but would be delivered the following week.Well, the week came and went and still no railing or contact from Parr. I tried calling and left several messages without a return call. ( These guys never return any calls.) I had to drive to Parr no less than 5 times to find any information. On three occasions, I was told the back order would be in the following week. SEVEN weeks later, still no railing. I went to Parr once again to cancel the back order, return some posts that were useless without the railing. Getting a return slip was not a problem, but actually getting the money back was another. The young man at the counter told me that a manager would call me the next day to get my card number to return my money. To make a long story short, two weeks and three calls later, I still dont have my money back.What I learned was that Parr is very helpful, until you pay your bill. After that, its buyer be ware, and be prepared to wait. I realize with Covid, manufacturing and transportation has been slowed greatly, but thats no excuse not to have good customer service and communication with your customer. The $6800 may not be a lot of money for Parr, but it was a big stretch for my family.As a side note, I went to Conrad Lumber in Sherwood and they delivered my order within a week from the same manufactureParr will no longer be on the top of my list when looking for construction products

This Parr is not far from my home and Ive used it for a number of home improvement projects. Chris and his team are super helpful and really know their stuff. I couldnt keep my old home looking good without them. Thanks!
We called ahead and ordered our boards. When we arrived they were very helpful with choosing and loading every board. Of course my husband helped too.

Very unpleasant experience. People here seem to not care about the customer. Employees slap signs and play around on their way to help you. These people are just plain rude, someone named q was especially rude. Do not do business with these people.
Picked up some 20 ft. decking boards and the size couldnt fit in my truck bed. Uriel cut them down to length and was extremely helpful and professional. Thanks to him I had a great experience at Parr and will definitely come back again! Thanks.
How do they have outside employees working in this beyond dangerous heat seems as if profit is more important that the health of the workers everyone in the field is working half days just my opinion

I have used Parr Lumber for all my projects for many years. The quality of their lumber, the broad range of products, the pricing, and the delivery are always excellent. I have used the other guys too, and recommend Parr without hesitation.
I arrived to pick up a small order of specially milled cedar decking. They were very busy so I got in the cue with my Suburban, fairly quickly it was my turn. I handed the lift driver my receipt and he was off to find my wood. It was nicely wrapped in plastic and was metal banded in two spots. The lift driver cut one of the bands and I realized we were going to load them into the Suburban one or two at a time; it was now raining. I stopped this process and suggested we use his fork lift to set and slide the whole load into my vehicle. He was very open to this and added his own creativity to the process. It went perfectly, I tied down the rear hatch and off I went into the pouring rain while every stick of wood stayed dry and secure. Nice job PARR LUMBER!

Ordered 2x6x12 they delivered 16 foot instead 12. Waynes coating on all. Pressure treated were warped. Sent 30 lbs I ordered 3 lbs. Difference of $103 dollars for nails. Took 45min to convince them that their driver took wrong nails back with him for credit.
Worked with Miguel on ordering items needed for a deck (substructure, decking etc) and he was great. Got me all squared away and was able to facilitate replacing boards that were broken during the delivery (usually the next day). Definitely coming back to Parr to work with him when another project comes up.

They always help me out. Almost everybody that Ive talked to is great. Occasionally I get a grumpy guy but usually not.
Sales woman has been very unprofessional, crossed a line by saying things I find inappropriate toward my husband via text messages ( whom is her client ). Email me if you want further info, I’m still deciding if I should contact management or not. I’m not the type to do so, but this was very bothersome.. We are trying to continue business here as it’s great, but this is a big bummer. We just want to buy product and not have my hubby be called “her boo”. Very distasteful.
Went here to get lumber for my Eagle Project. Once I told the man inside that I was a scout, I was graciously offered about a 25% discount. When I came back to redeem the offer and bring home the lumber, the process went quickly; the employees in the back seemed to know what theyre doing and helped in any way they could. Would definitely recommend this place if you need lumber.
I didnt realize that they are open to the public and can get me about all I need. And their staff are super knowledgeable and friendly! Best place to go... for the guy who needs the help! :)
This is a place that does a lot of big accounts but they are great for the little guy too. Lots of people to help. Very knowledgeable.

I called this morning at 11 AM and requested to speak with a sales representative. I was then transferred to what I was told was the sales department. I was on hold for about five minutes before I made it back up to the front desk where the receptionist they are adamantly tried to get a hold of someone in sales to speak with me. They finally got a hold of someone and then I got disconnected. They were unsuccessful in getting a hold of anyone. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk receptionist I was told to leave a message for the sales associate they would call me back pretty much immediately after they got off the phone with another customer. This never happened. It is now 330 and I am still trying to get an estimate on my lumber? when I initially called I had my customer on the other line waiting for an estimate. I understand busy I own a company thats very busy right now as well. But having to wait all day just to get an estimate on a small order this is concerning. I just called and spoke with someone at the front desk again where we went through the same process as last time they tried to get a hold of someone to no avail in sales. When they couldnt find anybody for me they just hung up on me. Starting to wonder if Parr lumber sells lumber? This is ridiculous Ive been going here for years.
I have been going to part lumber since I was in diapers. They have some of the best staff on that side of town hands down. Their staff is always friendly and eager to help and get you squared away.
Only had a problem with one employee and when I described to a person that goes there they knew just who I was talking about. I think that is sad otherwise I get great service.
Bought some Trex decking material from them today. Called and spoke with John. He was a true professional and knew the product well. He thoughtfully answered some questions I had and took my order for delivery the next day.Parrs prices are a little better than Home Depot and Lowes and they offer free delivery on orders over $300 and their people are simply more knowledgeable about the products they sell.I am very impressed and they have me as a customer for life.
Very confusing place to do business. Im yet to understand why their prices fluctuate so much. 2 weeks ago I bought plywood from here. Today the price increased 35 percent. How is this possible? Do they expect contractors to bid a job, collect the money, and buy materials within 48 hours? Or figure out material prices and add 50 percent to make sure theyre covered? I understand that wood prices fluctuate. But not this much. In the 20 years Ive dealt with Parr Ive never been able to get a straight and honest price. Also, when going over to the 185th yard to get material that this location was out of, their employees are extremely nice and professional. Eager to help. Hillsboro Parr could use their customer service skills. Too bad 185th is just a distribution center now.

This store only - called to see about a service they provide (getting a tool from Vancouver store that was transferred to hillsboro). Guy said no and laughed. Told him I spoke with Vancouver and they had already transferred it. Guy said no again. Said hed get a manager and then transfers me to voicemail. If you dont know, say you dont know and find out. No customer service skills. And doesnt need my money I guess. Will never work with the Hillsboro location.

Went to Parr to purchase lumber to make planter boxes for my wife for Mothers Day. I wanted to support our local lumber company instead of the big box stores. Paid for my lumber, waited by the gate for an associate to take my receipt and direct me towards the correct size. He was at the other end of the yard and even jogged half way towards me. I thought, ok I made the right choice, A for effort buddy. Once directed toward the correct size, I was standing at one end, the associate on the other. Right away I could tell the top boards werent acceptable for purchase. I wanted to move a few to see what was underneath. He didnt lift a finger to help move them. These boards were rain soaked, heavy 2x8x10ft and should have been thrown in the burn pile. Im a reasonable guy, I dont expect clear boards, nor did I pay for that. But, I do expect boards to be in acceptable condition, relativity straight without major cracks or large chunks missing. I sorted through 40 or so boards just to find one that wasnt cracked, corners missing, rammed with fork lift. I never even had a chance to check for straighteness. Visually, these boards shouldnt have even been out for public sale. When I asked if these were it the associate said this is what you have to work with. I headed back to the main office for a refund. Customer service inside the office was good, in the yard it was sorely lacking. Went to the local Home Depot, 6 out of the first 7 boards were acceptable. The Home Depot associate was pleasant, helped me with all boards without asking. I wont be supporting the Hillsboro Parr lumber store anymore.

They take your money before you see the product, they charge you for top grade product, and they do not have top grade. Sub-Parr Lumber.I will never shop with SUB-Parr Lumber again. This is a total shame I have been a good customer for over 40 years. Shame shame shame on you you put shop locally in a bad light.

Had been buying my wood from Home Depot, but needed about $500 worth this time for daughters tree house. Parr has free delivery over $300. Everyone also told me Parr has better quality and there is no need to cherry pick like Home Depot. Service person on the phone was great and lumber was delivered a day early, awesome. Until I unbanded it. This is the scrap wood most lumber places discount 50% off. Maybe 20% of it was ok. 7 of my 26 2x6s were literally broken and the others were hardly good on one side of the board, the other side is complete trash. Boards are warped like crazy. Plywood is broken on the corners. This did not appear to be from delivery either, just super low quality suppliers.Wood may be ok for studs (the not broken stuff) that will be covered by drywall, but if anything you are building is visible or will be walked on, stay away. You dont even need to cherry pick at other places and the chance of getting good wood is 100% better.Was able to cut ends and flip boards around, use pry bars to get boards screwed down straight. I wanted to finish the house this weekend to surprise my daughter so didnt have time to deal with returning. Went and got new boards from another place to replace the broken ones.
