I priced with a few companies before finding Sunset Granite. Not only did they get back to me the same day but they had the best price out of all the ones we received. We went in to look at their remnant selection. They let us walk the yard and told us if we find anything we like to let them know. While we walked through the remnants the ladies in the office worked on an estimate for us. It made the process super fast once we found a piece. The ladies answered all our questions and made the process very easy!! Recommend 100%

I went into Sunset Granite over the weekend to look at their remnant selection. I was trying to match a specific color. I was greeted by their wonderful office staff and Josephine even walked around the yard to try and help me match my sample. They did have a very large selection but unfortunately they did not have the color I was looking for. I do have a large remodel coming up in the future and I will be returning based on their friendly atmosphere and knowledgeable staff.

We found a stone we really liked at IKEA, but I was unhappy with their customer service. The ladies in the office sent me a quote based on my measurements in less than 24 hours and I found a remnant that looked exactly the same and was less than I was planning on paying at IKEA. Installers put in our sink for us. The whole process was fast and easy. I would highly recommend to my friends and family.

Poor customer service. Behind their plastic glass. I do the drawing and measure surface needed. They buy in Portland bring to Hillsboro sell to people who install. Middleman. Cant find installer their to busy Im told. Dont have time to come and do a estimate . Oh well..

They were unwilling to sign a formal contract. They want to protect themselves by having the customer sign terms and conditions and pay 75% upfront, but they wont sign anything in return, not even a written schedule or guarantee for the quality of their work. Not worth the risk.

If ever there was a business that deserved 0 stars. My husband and I ordered a black countertop and backsplash for a small wet bar in our house. The existing countertop and backsplash sat under a mirror that ran from the backsplash to the ceiling. We asked if the backsplash could be cut to a custom height so it would sit under the same mirror. Not a problem they said. Well get it measured up when they do the template, we do this all the time.When I received the quote, the backsplash was listed as 3 1/2 inches, so I immediately called and confirmed it would be cut to size. Again, they assured me this was not an issue, just how the quote comes out of the computer. They would measure it when they did the template. Sounded good to me. I signed the quote and were on our way.Andy (the business owner/operator) comes out to do the template. He looks at the old laminate countertop. The new countertop would be higher because of the thickness. He measures some things, makes some notes. Again, things are looking good.Installation day comes and the backsplash is cut to 2 5/8 inches. The guys get the counter installed but the backsplash wont fit. The backsplash wont fint in the gap left between the mirror and the counter. And heres where things take a bad turn.The installers say they have to call the shop. A few minutes later I get a voicemail. Andy had called and is now claiming that we asked for a standard 3 1/2 in backsplash, its right there on our quote. He says they dont do custom sizes. He mentions in the voicemail the only thing we can do is take the mirror down off the wall.I call back and speak with him. I recount the conversation regarding the custom sized backsplash, the one where they said its not a problem, whats written on the quote is just standard, they can work with our setup. But here he is, telling me whats on the quote is whats on the quote. I ask why then, if this is what I ordered, is the backsplash cut to very close to the right height, and not the standard 3 1/2 inches that is listed. He starts again saying they dont do custom, Ill just have to take down the mirror.I cant believe this.Hes trying to go back on his word and is obviously lying because they did cut the backsplash to size, they just got it wrong.I repeat myself about the size delivered versus whats on the quote. Finally, after an incredibly tense and uncomfortable conversation, he relents. He says to me hell never cut a custom backsplash height again for us.I dont think he realizes that Id rather put cardboard on my counters then work with someone so fraudulent ever again. I mention to his installers that I think theyre going to cut it to fit. I mention Im not expecting it to be perfect, obviously well have to calk the gaps given that this mirror cant be perfectly level with the new counter. They give me a look like this sort of thing happens more often than not.The counter is installed. Everything is okay other than the very sloppy calking job that I had to wipe away and redo myself. But I think there are a couple of lessons here. First, even if someone says something like thats just what comes out, well do what youre asking, get it in writing. Get everything in writing and that should be obvious. My mistake.The second lesson is that there are lots of options when it comes to counters in this area. Dont try to save money because they have a remnant that fits your needs and they can install in 3 weeks instead of 12 weeks like some other shops. Work with an honest person. Dont ever do business with Sunset Granite.

What a great place to do granite business with, from Tiffany at the front desk to Andy the owner and finally to the installers. We did our kitchen counters with Sunset and they were amazing. Andy walked me through every step and even helped me find a stone in my budget that looked very similar to one I loved but didn’t want to spring for. Andy was so helpful and professional. We did our own demo so he walked me through everything we needed to do. The guys came on time and finished the job super quickly. We couldn’t be happier or recommend them enough!!

Great service! They were able to give us a great quote, fast installation, and followed up after it was installed. I never felt pressured of getting something out of our budget and Andy worked with us in terms of our style and our budget. Highly recommend!

I sent them an email near the end of 2019. No response. I send them a follow up email a few weeks after that. Still no response. I went in to look at some quartz and spoke to them about buying a remnant piece to finish up our kitchen. He took my measurements and never called back. Their follow-through is disappointing.

Got a written estimate from them. I emailed them twice and called once to schedule an appointment. Never heard back. They have some good reviews but looks like there are some customer service issues. I was looking for countertop repair. Also gonna be looking to do a new kitchen in my new house. Shame they so know how to build their business.

Sunset Granite did a great job on my kitchen counter top. I have unique shape and oversized island counter top. Andy was so patience and very helpful in finding the perfect granite. Great team and great service, they got it done on time according to schedule, the counters looked nice and the price was very reasonable I am so glad with my decision to go with Sunset Granite .

Sunset granite was great! My wife and I were having a difficult time agreeing on a counter top and with their help, we finally came to an agreement. Sunset granite was aware of our situation and realized how difficult it is being without a kitchen for 3 weeks. Their service was fast and their finish product was incredible!!! We recently (July 2019) had Sunset Granite in Hillsboro, OR remove our old laminate countertops and install new Quartz countertops.We are very pleased with the service we received, the quality of the products, the installation, and even more importantly the price. Sunset Granite was $3,000 cheaper than several other bids doing the same exact job. I assume this is because they do all the cutting and polishing of the stone on site at the business. Eliminating the middle man.Andy the owner was very professional helping me choose what to purchase and yet saving me money. His installers Adan, Ezequiel and Jose were friendly and did a excellent job ripping out the old counter tops and installing the new countertops. Great skilled employees.I would recommend this business if you need new Quartz or Granite Countertops installed.

I love my new quartz countertops,they are beautiful, and the installation was done quickly and well. But...There were several things about our experience with Sunset Granite that could have been improved upon. They are not great about communication, failing to return calls or emails.They never called to give us advance notice of installation, so that we could get cupboards emptied and schedule installation of appliances. If my husband hadnt called to check after a long silence, our appliances would have been delayed. In addition, they cut the back-splash for a stove with rear controls, even though we provided them with photos and installation specs for our new stove with front controls right from the beginning. They did come out to install the correct piece the next day. The biggest concern was that they sent someone out to connect our sink and disposal that they SAID was a plumber, but was not, and the whole thing was botched, crooked, and leaking. We were able to get a refund for the plumbing and take care of it ourselves, but shame on them for not using a licensed plumber.I would consider using them again, but would definitely be more assertive as far as communication.

Talk about poor human interactions in general. The main receptionist was passive aggressive the moment I walked in. Her response to every question was “I don’t know”. The longest response I got from her was the companies email address, YIKES!!!If that’s the representation of Sunset Granite, I can’t imagine trusting her or any person there with my home. I’m talking my money literally around the corner!
