My battery died..I called Midas, 2 rings tops, whomever he was on the line was friendly.When I arrived the Receptionist was courteous and knowledgeable.There was a about 3 people a head of me. I thought I was going to be there forever..But to my surprise it took about 1/2 hour.The Tech working on my car was also friendly and courteous.Highly recommend Midas!

Pretty good crew. Communicates with you well. Never up charges you. Like anywhere, sometimes theres a wait. But if you get dropped off, theyll call you when vehicle is ready. If you decide to wait there, they have an air conditioned waiting room or you can take a short stroll because they are conveniently located next to a Starbucks. They provide all diagnostic and repair services. The usual maintenance services like oil change. As well as safety checks. Calling in to make an appointment is recommended. Not very often do they have a sane day slot since they are quite busy.

Submitted a request for safety check online and 2 weeks later noone has called to confirm an appointment yet.

I realized I had a antifreeze problem, checked and needed to be brought back up to specs. Pulled in and got put on turn. Was serviced without having to make an appointment and very courteously done. Thanks 👏

Wonderful, caring and professional.They stayed a 1/2 hour late to help me with the urgent matter of a flat tire. When I offered to tip them, they wouldn’t take it. When I said I was sorry for keeping them late, Lori ( the receptionist) told me not to worry and that what mattered was that I was safe.

Last minute repair needed to pass safety. Not only did they squeeze us in on a busy day but the staff was professional couteous and welcoming.

Sean down there is really nice and went way out of his way to help me with my van. Didnt charge me for the diagnostic and tested my relay for free. Gave me good advice on the cheapest way to get it fixed. A couple months later he took time after work to come help me off the side of the road. I will literally go no where else for my vehicle maintenance and repair. Thanks sean

I had one small kine issue with my truck. I brought my truck in to the Midas in Hilo cause it overheated. I get one lifted Toyota Tacoma that I had long time yeah. I was greeted by the guy Sean. I think he the manager there. He was super cool yeah. He told me was the radiator get leak. I was trippin. I ask him can fix? and he said can can. Hou I was happy yeah. we started talking stories when my truck was getting fixed. After a few hours my truck was all cherry. I guranz going back to the Midas.

Service was okay, but overpriced for what you get. Fixing a parking brake shouldnt have cost $800.

I started renting my cars out through TURO and as a result, Ive been a frequent customer of the Hilo Midas. My experiences have been all positive and I appreciate the honesty, straight forward recommendations and the friendly way I am treated. All four cars have been in for services ranging from replacement of tires, oil change and maintenance, brakes and struts. I trust these guys and recommend them highly!

I went here to get a new tire and theprices seemed unreasonable so I went to lex Brodies they put on a new tire for half the price Midas quoted be aware of possible mark ups when buying anything here

This place is highway robbery. They may provide a decent price for simple services (though I do not know), for anything diagnostic/more involved, expect to empty your pockets. I recommend finding a mechanic you trust. They quoted me nearly $600 to replace my exhaust. Found the system on amazon, and replaced it myself for under $150. They also charged me a $69 diagnostic fee to check a switch that I told them was bad. Always do your research and shop around, I was desperate to get my vehicle to pass safety, and did not yet have the tools to fix it myself. I made the mistake of taking it here even though I knew better.

Racist muthafakkas! They saw one haole (me) coming in for her $20 safety check with out of state plates and got me for nearly $500. Even though I had just replaced all four tires less than 5,000 miles earlier, my tires were no good. They told me since I started my inspection there I had to finish it there, which is a crock of bull. I originally had started my inspection at the 76 station by KTA (Cals Union)... which I recommend, and had to get my tint redone. It wouldve passed had I gone back to Cals Union, rather than the rip off joint called Midas. The only golden touch these guys serve up is to their friends, family, and their pocket book. Ive been in Hawaii for three years now, had several other safety checks, not at Midas, and never been used and lied to the way they lied to me.

I had good services from them for oil change and tire rotation in the past, but the most recent exchange with the manager was very poor.The exchange I had had with them most recently happened when I went to pick up my car after the scheduled normal oil change, I discovered the front side fender of my car was damaged (It could have happened with jacking up the car at the wrong place) When i pointed out to them the obvious damage on my car, they denied the possibility that they could have had done it, they told me i did not know my car better. However, they offered to help to repair the damage. However, their repair made the damage worse and at that point, they decided to completely deny my case.B/c i do not have a photo of my car prior sending my car in to Midas, there is a lack of arguable evidence that my insurance company could use to pursue them legally. As an average honest customer, you would understand that there is no incentive for me to tell you negatively about a business publicly. But i am sharing my personal experience and a warning message: Think twice before sending your car to them.

I went in with an appointment for a brake inspection and was told it would be about 45 mins. So i decided to wait with my 3 year old daughter. 50 mins later i asked how it was going and they said it should be done soon. An hour and a half after i walked in i asked them again and they said just a few more minutes and it would be all finished. 2 hours after i walked in they called me up an took my daughter and i out in the shop to show me what they found and to explain what needed done. Then they told me it was going to cost me almost $500 dollars to get rotors and brake pads replaced. I told them to put it back together and i would think about it. I then took it to firestone for a second opinion and they told me the same thing brake pads and rotors for $270. I then went to the auto parts store and picked up brake pads and rotors for $150 and did it myself. The worst part about the two hours was i had an appointment and they knew i was waiting with a three year old child. Honestly i would never go back. and suggest that no one ever goes to this midas as they will rip you off atleast $200.
