I had an awful experience at Big Island Granite. At the end of December 2017, I bought some granite from a competitor. I needed some epoxy and tint and went to Big Island Granite as they had it in stock. I purchased the epoxy and a package of 8 multi-colored tint tubes. The colors were indicated on the outside of the package. It was expensive but worth the money for the perfect look for the counters in my house. That night, I finished cutting the granite sections and set the counters onto the bed of glue and was ready to epoxy the granite together. When I opened the $55 tint package, it was supposed to contain eight different colors but someone had switched out the black, white and orange-brown tint tubes with red, green and blue tubes (uncommon and useless colors to me). I had gray granite and needed the black and white tints to complete my job. Once the granite was set in the bed of glue, time was limited and the counters needed to be epoxied together within the hour. I was not able to tint the epoxy to match the granite because the colors I needed were switched out of the package I purchased. So, hoping to get my money back for their error, I drove 30 miles to return the messed up package of tint the next day. When the owner of Big Island Granite was informed of the problem, he stated that they could only replace the incorrect package with a new package of tint. I explained to them that I no longer needed the tint because I had already epoxied my counter tops together without tinting, the night before. I told them that I would accept granite sealer, polish and cleaner that was of equal value in exchange for it, but they said they could only exchange the tint for another tint package, which I no longer needed. I left them the unused tint and in no uncertain terms told them what I thought of their business practices. I also left them my name and number so they could contact me to resolve this in an acceptable manner, but I have yet to hear from them.
