Just left Video Palace with a miserable experience. Owner berated me with you have no idea how to run a business after declined his trade offer for some more uncommon-ish used N64/Sega Genesis games. The offer was terribly low, and that is not how you treat people. He then tried to un-sell me the two SNES/Genesis games I was purchasing! Small man with small values.

The owner just sits in the back room instead of helping you. When you ask for his help or have any questions he is very rude smh…

Purchased a Sega Genesis game console 11th Jan. Travelled for 45 minutes to get there. After hooking up the system (late night), i realised everything worked - except the controller (up & down buttons) not working. A dissapointment for a 1st-time purchase. Hoping they will rectify it (without having to get a ride again for 45 minutes to get there) when i call today (Jan. 12, 2021).

Been going here since I was a little kid. This place has everything consoles, games, dvds, comics, accessories, literally everything you could need. Never have had a problem and nothing is overpriced.

He has raised his prices a little steep on some items. One in particular I got somewhere else for half his price. Such a shame because he has been the go to since my sons were kids. I think too many businesses have taken the whole pandemic thing too far and we are into gouging territory.

READ THIS: Great selection and prices. Soooo much stuff. Ive seen people complain about being ripped off, but they want to be paid full price for a game they purchased 5 years ago. Get real. Also, the owner is not rude at all. There are always lots of people in his store and he tries to help them all. I receive a deal everytime I go in there. He can often SAVE you lots of money acquiring a used game that is still new for you. I like paying $25.00 for a game rather than $60.00. The additional vintage toys he has are awesome, Ive never seen such a collection. Its super cool to reminisce about toys and games I played with when I was a kid. I very much love going to this store and glad its been around since I can remember.

Every time I come in here I never have a problem. I called and asked if they had a game and the gentlemen set it aside for me until I got there. The lady who worked there the first time I went was also very friendly and helpful. They have a lot of different things in there too which is nice. I live 20 minutes away but its worth the drive to see what new things they have in.

The guy said I had 30 days to return a used game I bought only to come back to return it to get something else for him to now say no thats a warranty guaranteeing it works and said you cant return it just because you didnt like it and was slightly rude and defensive. Yet about 5 days prior when I was in a lady was giving him a hard time about a return because he was also slightly rude toward her but gave her store credit. Please clarify your return policies with customers before completing sales and please dont make it seem otherwise as mine was apparently misunderstood. Good day to you

Was like walking into my favorite comic shop from when I was a kid. Nice games for gaming systems. A little of everything even vhs tape believe it or not.

My husband has been shopping here since he was a kid, and Ive been in here a ton of times since I moved to the area. Its a great place to find games for old systems, and they usually have decent prices on games for the newer systems. Ive never had any issues from this place, and its my preferred place to buy video games.

This is a pretty good store. Friendly staff, great selection of games and such, and the return policy is pretty good when its 30 days. Its better than chains like Vintage stock and gamestop so i support this store. Overall if youre finding a new game or a certain game, check out this place

Though sometimes the prices theyll give you are highway robbery i went in there 8 months ago and bought the original ape escape for 15.00$ and i call and say i have a copy and they offer me two dollars. its okay i guess

Sold my Xbox One a few months ago and didnt have the power brick, Greg was more than willing to use one of his to test my system so he could make an offer. Looking for that game you played as a kid? They have it! Want a recently released game but dont want to pay full price? Odds are they have a used copy in perfect condition.Video Palace is one of those businesses that even if its your first visit, you always feel welcome and you know you are receiving a fair price.

When I was dating my ex at the time, we use to go here like crazy.... he knew them for years. They have a decent amount of stuff, though I will say, the service is off par with places like 2nd and Charles, where at least their customer service is great. The two older ladies are really rude for some reason; every time I would come there or even with my ex they would say things like oh well times are different young people arent competent of the jobs that we had when we were your age back then, and would just be crabby all the time.Like,we dont need to hear that,why the hell should they care we were shopping there and giving them our hard earned money! When I came there on my birthday one day Diane, for some reason, was being extremely cocky; Greg is ok and another thing is, when youre looking or had just come in there is no customer urgency; youd think they would being a family business.. I dont know, I avoid them at all costs now and take my money elsewhere . ..

I used to rent NES games from the old man (George) when we were kids when he owned Coin video on the westside of town it was a small operation but he was really cool guy. Greg is the son and owner of video palace and since he expanded the store I noticed the prices go up on all the merchandise. Kind of standoffish and grumpy dude. Check eBay before you go in here.

Got swindled. I purchased a Sony psp game and memory card. Got back to the hotel and within 10 minutes the screen had lines all through it. The store states a 30 day refund policy. I took the unit back the next day and showed the lady the lines all through it and she said she couldn’t do anything. Offered me store credit which is silly because I travel for work and live I Pennsylvania. So now I’m stuck with a broken psp unit and out $90. Would not recommend to anyone. Terrible experience.

Lowball offers when selling things and rude employees. Unfortunately, theyre the only place I know of locally where you can find old games and video games consoles. On a positive note, huge selection of game and DVD movies. If youre looking for retro stuff, theres not many other places to go.

Very rude. I walked in with a cookie in my hand and the man working started yelling at me. I asked if he was serious to which he responded with get the f**k out so I put the cookie down on the counter and walked out. He then ran out after me and threw the cookie at my car. I couldnt believe it. I didnt know whether to call the cops or not but I decided to just keep driving. I couldnt believe what had just happened.

Awsome store for used and retro games. As a NES collector of over 400 titles I can say the prices are more expensive then disc replay and online but they usually have titles that disc replay does not have. I would price check their retro games before purchasing because you can most likely get it cheaper on amazon or ebay. Sometimes you will catch them slipping on their prices, for instance i bought a NES game for $25, when its going for well over $45. But for the most part their prices are marked up more then the item is worth. If you dont mind paying the extra cash and supporting your mom and pop shop then this place is great. Also stay away from Video Palace when the old lady is working, shes a very crabby person and is definately not a people person.

Huge selection of classics including many not normally seen at video game stores, like Odyssey 2 and Colecovision. Large quantities of classic games, Not just two or three.

Horrible place for games. DO NOT go here. They sold me a non working genesis system that they guaranteed to work, broken power cord, tried to return two days later and told me I was lying, that I broke it. This is no way to keep customers. Ive also bought several nintendo games here that didnt work. This genesis was a birthday gift to a 5 year old and now he is heartbroken. Thanks video palace...you lost my business. Game store in michigan city is the place to go...way more games, better prices, and much much better experience. 1 star is too high of a rating for this smelly dump of a store.

Okay they have a good selection of games some are a very fair price compared to the stuff on eBay/amazon. They also have a lot of old consoles, but dont expect a variety of colors they usually have the base models of consols and they do have the newer versions of the consoles but the base color. What I mean to say is they do not offer very many colors of consoles if youre looking for a watermelon n64. One problem is their games arent guaranteed to work. So one time I got a game for my brother and I looked at it and the disc had scratches and he said oh Ill clean that up. And then I was like you sure this game will work and he said if it doesnt you have seven days to return it I came back the next day because it did not work and instead his mother was there and I was like do you have another copy and she said no and accused me of scratching the disc and I told her, her son sold it to me like that cleaned it and the scratches were still on there. Then she tried telling me that her son would never sell something in that condition well too bad you are wrong lady he did. She didnt give me money back but instead buff the disc again and it did not work.
