Extremely overpriced! They add extra charges that shouldn’t be there. My insurance covers exam and materials and the bill was over $500. My daughter went for glasses only (No extras) and they tired to charge an additional $132 on top of the co-pay. When I questioned it, they acted like it was a normal charge. They added a contact lens sitting fee, scratch resistant, and anti-reflective. I told them I didn’t want anything extra on my child’s glasses & to take off the contact fee. They did the same thing to all my family members. The contacts lenses are double what you pay at other doctor’s offices.We are not ignorant and we understand how our insurance works. Stop overcharging for services that are covered, non covered services, and don’t add extras we didn’t request or receive. You will lose business this way. Be honest and do the right thing by the community and your business will grow.

Just called to make my kids their annual eye exam to be told it will cost 40 dollars per kid to schedule them due to the pandemic loved the optometrist at this office but will be taking our eye exams some where else
I only went in once several years ago. Took my insurance, figured what I owed, I paid. Then I started getting bills. I had paid in full, I did not pay any more extra they dreamed up later, and have never ben back. Fooled me once.
I’ve been going to Mayes & Mayes close to 20 years. I have been seen by Dr. Dixie, Dr. Jim and Dr. Daniel and not once have I ever had a bad experience from routine care to something that needed immediate attention.A multi-generational family owned business with doctors that genuinely care about their patients. There is no one else I trust more especially when it comes to my children’s eye/visual health than the doctors at Mayes & Mayes.
Pretty well irritated. I ordered a pair of glasses a week ago and the office manager told me that I would have them in one week. Its been one week, so I called early in the morning. I was told that nothing came in until after 1pm. Ok, no big deal. I called back at 1:30 and was put on hold so they could look. Lady comes back and says that they have nothing for me. I asked when they would be in, she said that she didnt know and the lady that could find out wasnt in. If you tell someone that theyre going to be there in a week, they need to be there in a week or at the very least some kind of explanation. Not, I dont know.
Very rude and unprofessional. My son was standing on the bottom step of the stairs thats in the waiting area when the Dr and the receptionist yelled at him from across the room to get off the stairs. There was no sign saying to stay off stairs. The waiting area was full of other patients too. That was the wrong way to handle that situation. My husband spoke with the Dr in private about the situation and he was very rude. A real prick. Ive never been so angry in my life no one has the right to yell at anyones children unless its a life or death situation and that was not the case. The should have walked over to us and said politely that they dont want anyone on the stairs. And my husband and I would have taken care of the situation.
Dr. Mayes may be great but his staff has a long way to come. They see patients as they want not how the appointment is made. The waiting area was dirty and hot. Not a place you want to sit for over 2 hours

Love the people always friendly ready to answer your questions about eyes or glasses or help u with making appointments to get u in prices are worth it on the fact its ur eyes cant go without a great doctor to help u see n keep seeing in life thats why I go there four every eye need.
Dr Daniel Mayes, and his staff, are kind and professional, the way that I remember his parents! I highly recommend them!
Worst experience ever. I went and got my eye exam there to get new glasses. Took them a whole month to get my glasses in. I asked for my refund and I will never return there again. Never called to let me know what was going on and why there was a delay when they said it would take 7-10 business days. I understand things happen but when thats the case, call the customer and let them know whats going on and apologize for the inconvenience. Very rude and stuck up employees with no to little communication between themselves.

I ordered a pair of prescription safety glasses, it took 4-1/2 weeks to get the glasses, and then the frames were not what I ordered.
Called for pricing, not the best experience...will go elsewhere before I go there!!!
