Fruits and veggies are really fresh. Never had an issue with them. Love the selection of Eastern Europe/Turkish goods. Hard to find such items around. Prices are a bit high on some items though

Cant beat this place, especially during quarantine! Fresh fruit, vegetables, meat & fish all without waiting in a long line at Shop Rite AND supporting a small local business!! Thats VERY important to us. Prices are probably a little higher but worth it for the convenience. They have an amazing inventory including a great deli and take out section, gorgeous breads, fancy cheeses & fattening deserts, candy, spices. I think theres even a small vegan selection. Awesome!

The fruits & Veggie section are good, though overpriced. The fish section has gone downhill since it opened several years ago. Prices and freshness are a problem. The poultry and meat section started out more like an upscale butcher shop, but with the new owners went downhill. The deli section closed since covid and hasn t reopened yet. Now they are putting in automated checkoutmachines, not a good sign.

Check expiration. Just bought some moldy cheese.

My first time here as I am new-ish to Hoboken area. A wide variety of vegetables and fruit. They have prepackaged foods also like pasta salad, sushi, and further back looked like more grocery items. As your walking to the register is breads and pastry/dessert items. Comfortable surroundings. A bit tight in some areas, but that is to be expected and not too overwhelming during this first visit. I will be back again.

Good quality fruit and produce, but none organic. Excellent quality fresh salmon and chicken. Good variety of cheese, although pricier than other stores.

A bit pricey and less selection without as much space to work with, but the quality of food is very good. I especially like the bakery and olive bar.

Used to love this place, but recently bought meat from there that went bad in a day. Not sure if this is due to the pandemic or something but I was pretty disappointed.The fruit and veg is always good. Butcher and Deli never disappoint so thats good too. Its just the pre-cut chicken thats ij the far right corner thats been stale.

Aspen Marketplace is always great to pick up groceries from - conveniently located, the staff were always friendly, and the selection was pretty good for a not-giant store. The prices were often a little on the high side, but nothing extreme.

Good produce section and can generally find the more standard items I shop for. Organic section limited but other items well represented. Quick processing at the checkout and sales cashiers always courteous. Thank you.

Awesome AS USUAL

I mean, i guess its a place that has a market inside. But, its not in Aspen. Im saddly confused. On the other hand, the cheese and coffee departments are both handsomly presented and functionally capable. Its a real bargain for whats really the only grocery store for infinite blocks in any direction. Listen here see, this marketplace has moxy.

I’m not from this immediate area, but I shopped here today and was pleasantly surprised. Wonderful selection of fresh fruits and veggies, and lots of options too. Great to see the different choices and diverse selection. Meat and fish departments are small but very clean which was nice to see as well. They have a very nice selection of just a little bit of everything so I’m going to make it a point to come to this store again!

Make sure you ask them to weigh the produce or they’ll charge you some random price and list it all on one line as “vegetables” on the receipt. Overpriced and hope they go out of business soon. Such a shame Kings went out and not them. So many times I come home and see my receipt where I’ve been wrongly charged.

Great supermarket with fresh produce, wide assortment of products, and even their own hot and cold buffet bar (by the pound). Some highlights are their deli counter, coffee beans dispenser, and a wide assortment of fresh cheeses and meats.Some areas of improvement would be the prices (a bit pricey for an okay supermarket), the employees at the registers are not the most friendly or cheerful (which is a real bummer to the experience), and the selection can be better! Their weekly manager sales and the convenience of being on Washington Street is a big plus so I dont mind returning!

Ive been buying from here for years. Different name since Garden of Eden but same selection. You can buy almost anything from fresh produce, hot and cold self-serve bars, hard to find deli favs, fresh meats and fish, and a beautiful cheese selection. The staff knows about gourmet markets and their products. Its not like shopping at Acme but in a town like Hoboken it gives you a nice option of quality and selection for the location. Even if you just need to but milk and toilet paper.

I and my family could not be happy eaters without Aspen Marketplace! Why? Because their produce--from the best watermelon, freshly packaged & ready to eat, to their Bulgarian feta cheese, and always gorgeous mint leaves--make a lovely summer Mediterranean dinner, no heating the oven! And ... the BEST olive bar this side of the Hudson.

I love this grocery store. They have a great selections of fresh fruit and vegetables. I like unique brands and homemade items and the store is packed full of them! From the homemade pasta, to the homemade coconut yogurt and grab-and-go options, this is the perfect stop for prepared food or fresh ingredients.

Beautiful aesthetic, high quality foods, hot food bar is out of this world.... but its reflective in the price. Maybe Im just poorer than you, Im sure youll like it regardless!

Used to be 5 stars but new ownership is making it just an ordinary deli instead of the gourmet food store it was. On Valentines Day they had no one working in dessert dept. and cashiers had to go get a dessert for customers who wanted them, causing a back leg at both the dessert and check out counters. I went to Carlos Bakery instead for my Valentines dessert.

Outrageously expensive. And beware: I have inadvertently purchased expired and/or moldy food products on at least 3 separate occasions, as have several friends of mine. I shouldn’t have to check the expiration date on every single thing I’m buying - the store should be making sure their inventory is fresh. Also, they have an unreasonably strict return policy; will only offer store credit and the return must be made immediately. So ridiculous.

I like it the hot and cold bar for a quick lunch. Food is freshly prepared and there is a large variety of fruits, veggies, and meats. Happy to come here for affordable and healthy food.

This has a good selection of apparently healthy meats and produce. They also have a good selection of specialty and upscale product. Im not sure if I would make this my everyday shopping.

This place is a super market and a restaurant. Great selection of grocery items located on a busy Hoboken street. Got to meet the Chef and he is nice and friendly. I was there to do food photography and was treated to a wrap at the end... which my whole family enjoyed...because I was full when I was there but came home with the wrap.

Great organic market with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. They also have a nice selection of cheeses, cured meats, uncured meats and fish. It is similar to Whole Foods, but much smaller.Their prices can be a little on the higher side, but its not really an everyday shopping type place. Go here for fruits, vegetables, meats and specialty items.

If you live in downtown Hoboken, you shop at Aspen. Maybe not for everything but you shop here. It is the quintessential city market albeit skewed towards the higher end. They have pretty much anything you need though with a smaller selection. They jam a lot into a small space making for a bit of a crowded shopping experience especially during the evening rush. There is a decent little meat department, deli and bakery along with a surprising fresh hot and cold bar.

I go here for the convenience, but not for the prices. That being said, the produce is somewhat consistent, although I have had a few instances of cucumbers going bad in a day. The rest is what you would expect in a boutique super market.. expensive but convenient

There is an unpleasant lady with brunette hair that I always encounter with at the registers. Ive seen her attitude change from one guest to me in all times I visited this market. First I thought maybe its a bad day or maybe shes not feeling well, but that doesnt explain the sudden attitude change. Ive watched her check out customers with smiles and hand them their bags, but when I get to the register that smile turns upside down. Instead of giving me my bags she pushes my bags to me every time. I try to make small talk, but I get nothing even when I say have a nice day. I gave this store multiple chances thinking maybe Ill get another cashier or maybe she would change but nothing has happened. Therefore, I discontinued my visits to this store. Maybe I am looking at this all wrong, and maybe I am wrong for thinking that this treatment is because Im black. Either way, I probably wont go back- They will survive without my money

Food is amazing a little over priced but very good and tasty

Went to buy goat cheese, all of them were expired. Some over a month. Told the staff, they just said “ok.” and didn’t seem to care. According to the yelp reviews this happens a lot. 🤢🤮

The food here is average but I will no longer be giving this place my business for one reason, the checkout process. The cashiers here act as if they are forced to work here against their will and treat you like an inconvenience. Its almost like theyre trained to make the customer regret coming here. Ill look for other places to find a quick dinner.

I only shop here when Im in desperate need of an item ... otherwise, its just not worth my time. Their produce and fruit are expired sometimes on the shelf (I also purchased chocolate milk from here once and then realized it had expired by a month when I got home). Ive been overcharged the original prices during discount promotions. Also, they use a lot of unnecessary plastic packaging.Their floor staff and deli/meat/fish counter staff are nice, and theyll kindly helped me any time Im there. HOWEVER, their cashiers?? How do they even have a job here? Its obviously a customer service role, but they are nearly always on their cell phones, dishing out attitudes, or just plain bored while serving customers.

I have been going to Aspen for 5 years. Products are good quality although very expensive, but still go quite often.The girls at the cashiers are terrible, today they had me leaving the line to put an item back to its place because by mistake I took two of them, pus asking me to do it in such a rude way. They are so unpleasant and this has been going on for quite some time... terrible service on a very expensive place where you would expect the opposite.

My favorite shop. Although it is a little pricey, it has the best produce, try the gemini mushrooms nd the fresh spring mix. Their bakery has great selection of breads, try the olive italian bread. Their sauces and cheese are fresh and delicious.
