Staff was rude, we were out of state tried asking a few questions about the fishing pier and bait, they could care less to speak with us over the phone. He did state there was live bait available and we drove over went inside and he was out. Don’t waste your time!

I love this place! Came in to get bait and a few tackle items, while visiting from out of town. James if I remember correctly was so helpful with giving us information on what to use and how to use it. After shopping we discovered our truck would not crank back up, but luckily there was a renter here that James was able to call and assist us in getting to the gas station. Unfortunately that didnt work... luckily he advised us to leave the truck and go over to a park close by. A little discouraged, my boyfriend said lets go babe. So we went and I just want to say that we had a blast. Thank you again James for your knowledge and assistance today, YOU WILL HAVE MY BUSINESS ANYTIME WE ARE IN TOWN.

I go to many bait shops in the area pretty frequently,at least twice weekly. Ive been to this shop 3 times (because I avoid it for the most part) I mainly come here when I run out of bait and its the closest to the Pier for a quick refill. First off the staff is always pretty rude and unfriendly. Secondly, the shrimp are about double the price of the other shops I frequent and 3 out of 3 times theyve been dead and limp by the time I get back to the Pier 2 minutes down the road. I have a decent sized bucket, aerator and stone. I havent had this issue with any of the other shops. Today the shrimp I received were kind of embarrassing to say the least. Last but not least this is the kind of shop that literally hand counts every dead shrimp they sell you. Aint nobody got time for that. 2 stars from convenience and although dead and limp they have shrimp 👍

I wish I could say this was a good bait shop but simply calling to ask what bait they have available is a problem to them and they give you an attitude. Then if you show up and you ask what they have you also get a poor attitude. This use to be a great place for shrimp and other baits but the selection has slimmed and the service has plummeted, it’s a shame to say because they have the opportunity to be a great bait shop in a great location but the lack of effort and commitment to their business sadly shows.

This place has been around for many decades. Conveniently located by the nearest boat docks makes this a one stop shop for all your last need moments. I urge any captain to double check his inventory and ask your quartermaster if anything is missing? Your first mate good?Suits all needs from fishing to a run out at sea.This is where the fun begins!

Man at counter not as forthcoming as to fishing conditions as most bait shops, but shop was clean neat not smelly.

The service rep I spoke with was rude and had a major attitude problem will not be buying from them again. Wont bring my service here or my business here again. Would suggest you bring more bait for the pier and not use this shop.

Called because i drive 20 miles to the pier up the road from this shop. Employee very rude says i dont know what kind of answer was that. So Anyone ask me go to the shops on 19. They are a lot farther away but when you call they politely tell you the park is closed. The Port Richey outfitter needs to swap staff teach #2 how to treat customers. When there is so many other bait shops in the area. I use to enjoy buying your over priced shrimp bit my 6:05am call to you was not appreciated.

Great friendly and easy access to the water

James was slightly helpful. Hard to open up at first but when we started talking my girlfriend and I were able to at least find one thing we wanted. James has a beautiful rescue dog Abel. He is adorable and very friendly. But kept behind the counter to avoid distraction to customers which I liked. Always good to have a separated area if a dog is in the store.

I stopped in the other day and bought 3 dozen handpicks, took them right across the street and half were dead on arrival, they were very small for handpicks, and the count was short.

Only reason they are in the bait business is because of location. We asked whats biting these days and the guy said you tell me rudely. Medium shrimp is a joke its so small. Will do my best to help them improve by not supporting this type of activity in the future. Oh Im sure you are sorry I feel this way too.

Live shirmp was double the cost from one county over and more then that in a few places I use in Hernando county, I get the same amount of shrimp and Frozen finger mullet every time, I pay $22 for everything in Hernando county it was over $42 there

I dont give 5 stars as a rule. A hard rule. But the owner is extremely friendly and will go out of his way to do anything for you. I store my boat there and he cares about his security.Runs out of large shrimp quick (bait) but that is to be expected. I just cant bring myself to get out of bed at a good fishing hour.Prices are excellent and he is right across from anclote boat launch and fishing pier.He just needs coffee and beer and then I would never leave his place.

The guy that was waiting on us seemed a little off. Im not sure he was having a bad day but really really friendly. And acted suspicious like we were in there to do something. Its a freaking bait shop.

They have all the supplies you need for fishing and theyre friendly

The new owners have come a long way with the property since taking it over. They have cleaned up the grounds and added a lot more storage and easier access. They have the best grade of shrimp in town. They stock and back stock with others dont even stock. Just around the corner from the boat ramp.

My husband and son loves J&J Bait! This place is great the owner is always so nice. They have a big selection and they also have all ZMan you can think of. Great place to get any tackle/bait for a great day of fishing!
