Wonderful place! Most medical offices and buildings are usually dreary and the employees look like they can’t wait till their shift is over, however I was treated very kindly here especially since I had never gotten an eye exam before and it was a great experience overall.

Went there yesterday and what a great experience. Very friendly, Dr. Mark D was the best. He really cared and he did a very detailed and thorough eye exam. This was not the in-and-out one hour eyeglass store with a 5 minute eye exam you normally get from other businesses.Great prices, great location, easy street or garage parking.

Dr. Kay and his staff were consummate professionals and did a great job. Covid precautions were fully in place and I felt very safe and comfortable. The testing methods and technologies were more advanced and sophisticated than Ive seen before (not that Im an expert) but it is clear that Dr. Kays office is keeping on top of the best methodologies that are available. Dr. Kay spent a LOT of time with me and walked me through every every test result, including what it meant to me today as well as where the results might take me in the future. In my orbit of friends and colleagues, Dr. Kay has always had a platinum reputation, so I thought Id give him a try. My only regret is that I didnt start going to him 20 years ago! I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Kay to my friends and family.

I have been coming here for about 2 years now. Recently I got some new glasses with transition lenses. I love them! They follow up to see how you’re doing with your glasses and I love that customer service! I live in west Miramar but I drive out to east hollywood just for them!

I love coming here! Doctor Kay is the best optometrist in Hollywood. I drive all the way from Coral Springs just to see him and his staff, because they are great! From reception, to fitting & imaging, all of his staff are highly trained in customer service. Dont waste your time with anyone else.

Dr. Kay and his staff are the best of the best and I have been going to their office for years. To start, I have never waited more than a minute, maybe two, to be seen. Second, every staff member makes sure to treat you like family going above and beyond to make sure youre comfortable and takes time and effort with helping you throughout their selection. The office is immaculately clean. The equipment is state of the art, clean, and comfortable and make any anxieties of a normal doctors appt fade away. I would recommend 100 times over, they are THE BEST.

Just Called to schedule an appointment and they are requesting a debt card. They will charge you $100 if you do not make or cancel within a 24hr notice. They are no longer taking walk ins... Man the Pandemic got everyone moving differently, wish it could have been different. I will no longer be returning if circumstances do not improve.

I had the best experience with Dr. Deweese. He is so nice and professional. He took his time making sure that everything was perfect and I could see correctly. He measured me for contacts so patiently and it completely wiped out a previous bad experience I had somewhere else. My prescription is a complicated one but I am very satisfied. Everyone else in the office is very nice and helpful. They are being careful in regards to Covid. Everything gets wiped down and your temperature checked before you walk in.

The staff is friendly and courteous. Dr. Deweese is the best, very knowledgeable and takes time to answer my questions and explain in a way I understand.

Did my annual eye exam. The practice is clean and accepts patients by appointment only.The glasses seem to be overpriced, and there is a pretty limited selection of sunglasses.The doctor was nice and polite, but the equipment was pretty old.I would not recommend this practice because the staff is doing pretty pushy sales there, and I personally don’t like that. I had a vsp insurance and came for an annual exam, but they tried to upsale the following: $39 extra for a photo of the eye (there is a free alternative to that which is eye drops); the doctor created a prescription for glasses for me whereas we both agreed that I have perfect vision; polarization for the sunglasses which you buy from them would be around $60.The quality of the service was okay, but it would not be my first choice practice in the future for the above reasons.

I just moved to Hollywood recently and I was really bummed about having to start over and find new doctors. I found Hollywood Eyes through my insurance and I was really happy. Staff and Doc alike were very kind and office efficient. Front desk validated my insurance when I made the appt. and I didn’t need to do it again when I got there. Selection of glasses is really good too. Overall great experience.

I had an accident today with my contact lenses and thinking I would get a supportive answer from my optical clinic. The front desk representative treated me horribly. (she was taking care of calls this morning)Its not the first time she does that. I honestly do not know her name but Im sure Im not the first nor the last person that receives her rude/ non empathic attitude.She wouldnt let me talk and if I could, I couldnt finish my sentence without her cutting me off.unfortunately, this morning I had an accident with contact lenses and those were my last pair. My prescription is very complicated to get and without my contact lenses I cant see at all... Even talked to my insurance so Im allowed to use my benefits for 2020, this representative made me feel like it was my fault and nothing else could be done! wouldnt give me a solution and would tell me there is no space for appointment because its the most busiest time of the year, to schedule next week, and since my prescription is so hard to get, they wouldnt be able to give me any trials for the time being. I thought because I was a patient I would get anything solved but no!I felt so disappointed and offended so I went ahead and made an appointment somewhere else.purchased my glasses and contact lenses plus my trials while I wait for them...What a lost.The doctor is great. Too bad this lady works for this optical clinic.very, very disappointing.

I have been a patient of Dr. KAYS for a few years. I have always had a Positive experience with the office staff and Dr. Kay until NOW... I purchased all 4 of my designer frames from there office. However, I must say that I have NOT had great success with my progressive prescriptions at all. I am NOT sure the LAB they are using but, I brought all of my glasses back with complaints that I am unable to see clearly. I was always told that I need to wear them longer to adjust. Please tell how long does one take to ADJUST!! However, on the advice of Dr. KAY PROGRESSIVE LENSES may not be working well for me. Okay, after spending hundreds of dollars on Designer frames and prescription lenses I just wanted to see better and clearly I opted to have them split my prescription in two, one for reading and one for distance. There after I chose to bring in my GUCCI frames in to the office to have my expensive progressive lenses replaced with just reading lenses. I picked up my glasses when they were ready, and had to also pay for splitting the prescription. A couple of weeks of having them, the coating on one of my lenses started to come off. Wth!! I contacted the office and informed them and dropped them off last Wednesday for repair then got a call from the office on Friday from Diane letting me know while she attempted to replace the lenses from my GREAT CONDITION GUCCI FRAMES, she BROKE my frames and now they are telling me that if I want GUCCI frames again they will give me discount towards another pair. SAY WHAT??? YOU BROKE MY GUCCI FRAMES AND YOU WANT ME TO PURCHASE ANOTHER ONE AT A DISCOUNTED PRICE!! I AM FURIOUS!! At the response I received from DR KAY AND DIANE...THIS IS UNEXCEPTABLE THAT YOU DAMAGE A FRAME I BROUGHT TO YOUR OFFICE TO CHANGE LENSES OUT OFF AND YOU WANT TO TELL ME THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE WILLING TO OFFER ME. TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT. NO SIR, THIS IS VERY POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE. Diane, you admitted that the office failed to provide me with a waiver stating your policy if you BREAK IT YOU ALL ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE. I NEVER SIGNED A WAIVER AND WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF YOUR POLICIES IN HANDLING FRAMES PURCHASED FROM YOUR OFFICE AND BROUGHT BACK FOR LENSES TO BE EXCHANGED! SO THEREFORE, I SHOULD NOT BE PUNISHED FOR YOUR NEGLIGENCE NORE INCOMPETENCE...

I can honestly say I had a wonderful time at the Optometrist on Saturday 12/28. Everyone from Dr. Kay to the staff were absolutely amazing. Not only did I find exactly what I needed but I learned and laughed the entire time. The staff at this office is like a family unit and that day I was welcomed.

Dr. Kay and his staff are the creme de la creme. It doesn’t get any better than this!

I went in for a checkup and to get a new prescription. The staff is incredibly nice! Dr. Kay did an excellent job explaining what he was doing and why, and he was so sweet, gentle, and kind. Very funny, too! I usually hate eye doctors and eye appointments, but I actually enjoyed my visit. The woman who helped me pick out glasses too knew EXACTLY what she was doing and was able to find the right pair for my face within 5 minutes. Very impressive!

I have never been to an Optomotrist office that has been so thorough . I wish that I had seen them years ago as I truly believe my eyes would be in better shape. Dr. Briscoe and Dr.Koe were wonderful and they have introduced me to eye spa, a treatment especially for dry eyes.I was thoroughly taken care of from the front desk, to the exam and then the personal touch of Dr.Briscoe. I think what she does for your eye health is truly exceptional!!

Have been seeing this doctor for over 10 years. From the moment you walk in, you are immediately greeted, regardless of how many other clients or phone calls are being juggled. The whole entire staff is professional, courteous and kind. very patient with questions you may have and explains every detail of your visit from beginning to the end (frames). Very helpful and knowledgeable with insurance and helps submit any and all forms required. I would hope to never leave this office, as it truly is a one of a kind experience.

Dr. Kay is A M A Z I N G ! This place looks beautiful, clean, well kept and has a very attentive polite staff. Me and my husband visited for his eye exam to get some glasses and Dr. Kay must of been a comedian in his last life because he was so funny!! Made the visit very fun for the both of us and has a wide variety of options and we are so Greatful for HOLLYWOOD EYES:)

Staff is very professional. Dr Kay is very nice, welcoming and knowledgeable. I had a great overall experience. I would recommend this place to everyone. I needed to use my insurance before it expires, they made it happen. The lady at the reception was very helpful in scheduling me the day they close at 7:00p.m. Wait time was very short.

After visiting two different doctors, because of my insurance, sadly to say I was not pleased. I knew something was just not right with eyes. After carefully researching, and reading nurmous reviews, I found myself at Hollywood Eyes. Best decision!!! The staff is always friendly, and answers all your questions promptly. The eye exam was thoroughly done, and the doctor took his time during every step. I will definitely make Hollywood Eyes my one stop shop.

I never dread my appointment; its always fun. Easy to find and street parking is free. The staff is friendly and more than willing to answer questions. My last appointment, I was so involved in work I had to cancel.....I was not charged a fee, and I was rescheduled the very next day. (that doesnt happen anywhere else)One time I called in for urgent care and they shuffled me right in; it was great. I can not say enough good things about Dr.Kay and his staff, I highly recommend them to everyone!

I arrived 30 minutes early and waited less than 5 minutes before being seen. The lady (I wish I remembered her name!) Who started the process was funny, fast, and experienced. The doctor had set up the phoropter beforehand so that its already close to my prescription and the lady didnt have to. The doctor (Deweese) was friendly, thorough, and fast as well. The best part of it all was after I had my prescription eye strength and I was given back to the previous lady. She had me sit down and she was the one that was running around and choosing glasses. I ended up getting glasses I probably wouldnt have chosen for myself and THEY LOOK AMAZING! Ive never had an office this outstanding in staff. I would strongly recommend this place if youre in need of glasses/contacts.

I have been going here for over 10 years. This doctor is so patient with me I have a fear of eye drops and people or things near my eye and yet he is very patient. After years of buying cut-rate glasses at a big box retailer, I decided to give Dr Kay and his staff at Hollywood Eyes a crack at upgrading my eyewear and my eye care. I couldnt be more pleased! I received a thoroughly professional eye exam in their very comfortable offices in downtown Hollywood. Dr Kay patiently explained all of the results and took meticulous care with my eyeglass prescription. To top that, Hollywood Eyes has a great selection of high quality and stylish frame choices - without overwhelming you with far too many choices from big box mediocre suppliers. My glasses were ready in a few weeks, and the real bonus has been the quality of the lenses I received. Yes, they were a little more than the discount retailers, but the quality and durability of the glasses has been orders of magnitude better than any pair of glasses that I have ever had. It wasnt long before I was back again ordering another pair for reading and a pair of prescription sunglasses. I rate Hollywood Eyes excellent in every way!

Had the most rude and disrespectful attitude at this place. Though I am a big fan and collector of designer glasses and always was curious about this place. The reception woman was very hostile and absolutely not friendly. I thought that the face of the shop should represent hospitality and will to help. Here I only found snobbish attitude and looks from above. Do not recommend to anyone.

The front desk personnel is very nice, treat you with respect and explain everything you need to know. However, after waiting for about 20 minutes, Dr. Barry Kay came in, and the processed with the consultation, the physical exam and some questions. Almost at the end of the consultation the Dr offered me an exam to view the back of my eyes, he wanted to see the “vascular condition” over there, and he stated that the cost was 39 extra dollars. After listening, I decided not to have the exam done, and I explained to the Dr that he could do it some other time in the future something that he did not like at all. He stated “that’s the most ridiculous thing I ever heard” “it makes no sense at all” “you wanna save money” then he asked me if I was a Doctor and second he asked me not to considere visiting him anymore because he was not confortable with my visit. Everything happened because I did not want him to do the examination of the back of my eyes.

Great experience all round! Staff were efficient, knowledgeable, and professional. My eyes are in good in hands.

Dr Deweese and the Hollywood Eyes staff are very professional. I walked in off the street and asked if they take my insurance Cigna Vision, which they do, and immediately accommodated me with an appointment within half an hour of my walking in. I’m extremly happy and 100% satisfied with my exam. I walked out of there with a pair of multi focal contact lenses and I see great! Thank you Hollywood Eyes

The doctor and the initial visit were both great. I had a thorough exam and a very nice experience. Everybody was friendly and seemed very accommodating; but, there is more to say here, which is why this review originally had only 2 STARS, before I edited by review and increased the stars to 4. I went in there because I could not focus on the computer or read menus, etc. I was diagnosed w/ additional problems which I was not aware of since they did not bother me prior to the visit. I was recommended progressive lenses to address all my issues at the same time and was told I had the ability to replace them w/ single-purpose lenses if I could not adopt to them. Well, I could not adopt to them and immediately hated them from the get go. When I called them to tell them that I could not possibly use those progressive lenses, I was told to keep them for a while to see if my eyes would adjust to them. I was also told to relax, since I had 60 days to return them and have them replaced with single-purpose lenses if I could not adopt to the progressive lenses in the end. I did what they asked me to do and eventually went there to have the lenses replaced, which was when I was told that I was too late because the 60 days was counting from the time of the visit, not from the time I actually received the glasses, not taking into consideration that almost a month passed from the initial visit until I actually received my glasses due to the lab being behind. They made me feel as if they were doing me a favor by replacing the lenses, which I did not like. Even worse, they eventually just gave me a pair of magnifying reading glasses that I could have bought in Walmart for $10.00, after spending close to $400.00 there. I called and said I did not ask for a magnifier but just a simple reading lens that did not distort images and I was not happy w/ the results, I was told that I had to pay for an additional visit and for new lenses. I was also told that all reading glasses would magnify, which was not correct. Not a good place to go to in my opinion... I was interrupted several times over the phone and it was repeated 6 times to me that I would have to pay extra now, even though I did not say a word about money. I was actually in the process of even making the appointment to see the doctor again and pay for new lenses, but the lady on the phone repeated that I had to pay for everything so many times, that I got sick of hearing it and just decided to go somewhere else. If they offered to work me, realizing that these are my first pair of glasses and I was mislead by them, I would have actually recommended this place; but, instead, I felt compelled to write these words.Dr. Kay and Dr. Deweese, since I could not reply to you, I am writing my reply by editing my post. And, I do appreciate your call, Dr. Deweese. I could tell you were concerned. Thank you! I would not have expected any less from you based on my personal experience w/ you. You are a good doctor. To be clear, my complaint was not on the frames and I knew they cost $190; but, nevertheless, the fact is that I paid close to $400 for a pair of glasses that were not what I asked for and did not work for me. My complaint was only on the lenses, which felt like magnifying lenses. I originally came to you because I could no longer comfortably read the computer, screen books, menus, etc., which I did tell you during our visit. What I ended up w/ was a pair of magnifying reading glasses that I did not ask for or ever agreed to getting. I could not complete this sentence on the phone w/ your employee, because she kept interrupting and asking for more money. I just did not like her tone, to be frank.Anyhow, you did take care of me in the end and told me that your employee had indeed acted against your policy. I am happy that you offered to see me and correct my lenses. I am excited, waiting for my new lenses to arrive. I have increased the number of stars to 4 from 2, due to your actions. Thank you! :)

Dr. Kay is the best!!! Ive been a patient for over 10yrs and even though I live further way I still make the annual trip cuz its so worth it.
