Helpful staff/owners and seamless transactions always make for a positive experience With A great sales rack strategically placed near register (and great products in general) makes it a challenge to leave without more than you came in for.
I had to edit my review from five stars to two. If you’re dealing with Claire through email she’s fine, in person, she’s not so pleasant. Had to go in like three times and will definitely be taking my business other places moving forward. With service and personality like that, how are they not bankrupt? —- Some of the best service in Alaska if not the country! I have heard bad things about Homer Saw and Cycle for years and some not so great things, I finally had the opportunity to pick up a saw and some accessories and oh my goodness! You could not believe the attention to detail and the quality of service. Seriously if I would give them 10 stars I would. You would be hard-pressed to find better stock selection anywhere on the peninsula. I dealt with Claire and oh my goodness what a pleasure she is. — Unfortunately I do you have to edit this I have had the opportunity to go into the store a few times and was definitely not treated with the same respect as I was through email. Actually they were pretty short and rude.
It’s no doubt been tough keeping a business open during Covid. I appreciate how Homer Saw and Cycle has strived to follow CDC guidelines to keep their staff and customers safe. I feel completely safe going there to shop.
A great supporter of Jr Nordic and school ski programs with discounted ski gear. Help them recoup some of those donations by buying your ski gear there!
Superior Service.
I happened upon this store out of a need for help with my weed trimmer. Claire came to my rescue and fixed it right up! She was awesome! Im so happy to have found this store, it is so much more than small engine related things. They have an excellent variety of outdoor gear! Totally looking forward to continued shopping with them. Thank you again Claire!
I live here but after three separate grumpy experiences, I wont EVER go back in there. If you want to shop there, take your own chances.
Expert saleswoman. Great selection of products!
Find another place to have your ATV serviced. These guys did a thorough inspection of a used ATV I purchased then made recommendations as to what needed to be done. We all agreed in writing to limit the repairs to $1000 but when I received the invoice it was $1400. I agreed to pay the full $1400 but said it wasnt right and I would post a poor rating, they said they would deduct $200 if that would make me happy. After receiving my ATV and riding it less than 300 yards it stopped and will not start. They also replaced the rear wheel bearing and this thing makes a loud clunking worse than when I brought it in. I said I would not leave a rating but after this how could I not? Nothing they say will fix my opinion of Homer Saw and Cycle (or my ATV) and I would simply choose another service provider.
Its a good place.
Great Service! Very Friendly!
Homer Saw & Cycle has great products. I love love love the clothing and esp the boots Ive gotten there. I also have purchased gifts for friends and family there that are different and fantastic. The owners treat you like family and know their products. I cant go to Homer without shopping there.
Very poor customer service and very rude. I will gladly buy all my Stihl products up the road.
The most amazing and helpful staff and a store that has more to offer than one would think. Cycles, supplies, and even a large selection of clothing.
I bought a used 10 year old bicycle for $900, and its a nice bike. While test driving the bike I noticed a VERY loud squeal from the brakes. The noise was so loud I asked the technician (owner) about it, and he said the brakes were brand new and the noise will go away after a while of use. The embarrassing noise didnt go away. I took it back again and the owners said they couldnt find the parts to fix it. They chose not to honor what they originally said about repairing it. I feel really let down. Ill never do business with Saw and Cycle again. They wont have your back and wont honor what they say. I was super patient and amiable throughout this whole process.
Great experience with friendly and knowledgeable shop owners.
Wonderful service extra friendly so knowledgeable you leave feeling confident enough to cut red woods
Great people to work with.
We recently bought a home in Homer, it was a remote property and we needed an ATV to access the property as there was no road. We thought buying locally over$ 20,000.00 and establishing a friendship with Homer Saw and cycle would be beneficial for us as we are now part of the community. This was not to be the case. After 6 weeks nothing had been done to get our machine ready. We were going to have to go elsewhere to purchase the machine, but we didnt want Homer saw and cycle to be out any money and used our WF business card to pay for the the parts we ordered in full from them. Unfortunately, we never received any of the parts we purchased. We ended up having to go to court to recover our costs.
Homer would be half the town without this shop and not the good half.Their knowledge is freely shared, service is top notch, the store is impeccable and the quality merchandise is unsurpassed. It is places like this, Ulmers and Wagon Wheel that keep this a quality working town. Thank you.
Great products, really nice folks!
Great people to do business with. Knowledgeable, friendly, fair, and family owned/operated.
Super knowledgeable with great bikes at great rental prices.
Well stocked store for all types of outdoor items.
Very knowledgeable, albeit sometimes slightly grumpy staff. Excellent selection of Stihl tools, with great advice on operation and maintenance.
I have purchased Polaris Ranger a Stihl saw and Pro 800 155 from these folksIve sent friends and family here, because the customer service is 2nd to noneThe folks will help in any way they can and they are extremely knowledgeable about Polaris and Stihl equipment, all I can say is they are the best in the business!
Amazing technical knowledge of Polaris, Stihl, and Trek. Huge selection of outdoor gear and great local knowledge for biking and adventuring. Oldest Stihl dealership in Alaska.
Great cycle and gear shop. Offers 24 hour bike rentals for 25$. Friendly staff and management.
Great shop.
Unfriendly. Gave poor advice.
