The Happy Catering Co handled the food for our 40th high school reunion. Its difficult to plan for an event like that because in the beginning planning stages you dont know how many will attend. Holly was SO easy to work with and knew exactly how to prepare and plan for an event like ours. The menu she built for us was perfect for our group. The staff arrived when the said they would be there and the set up and presentation was gorgeous! The servers were professional and courteous and cleaned up at the end of the evening. The food was raved about by all classmates and there was so much of it! The food was DELICIOUS!!! I highly recommend The Happy Catering Co!!

We recently used Happy Catering for our Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding Reception. The meals both nights were delicious. We have had many compliments from our friends on the food. The staff was very attentive in making sure everything was taken care of from set up to clean up and everything in between. We used Happy Catering for our rehearsal dinner and I cannot say enough good things about them. Holly was awesome at helping us plan and paid such attention to details that it was amazing. There were a couple of dishes that were not on the regular menu that we wanted and they were happy to create them at no extra charge. They worked well with our venue and stayed in constant contact with us, updating details and pricing as we made changes. I had no worries at all as I arrived at our rehearsal dinner because of the confidence that I had already built in them. The serve staff quickly introduced themselves and assured me they had everything under control. The bartenders knew exactly what to do and were obviously very experienced. Joshlynn, who was the hostess captain that evening, did an amazing job with a large staff serving everyone with humility, hospitality, and precision. The staff was always one step ahead of me in making sure drinks were refilled, plates removed, coffee served. They cleaned up quickly and efficiently and had all of the leftovers boxed and ready for us to take home. I would highly recommend using them for your event!

Originally had my wedding and reception scheduled for 4/25/20 and COVID messed up those plans. They were so wonderful with working with me regarding rescheduling and switching up my needs. Happy Catering was a “preferred vendor” with our reception venue and had heard great things about their food and service, plus Robbie was my former neighbor so this was a “no brainer” vendor choice. They were wonderful! We were still able to have a buffet with modifications due to the pandemic (all food served by their staff with masks and gloves on) and it all worked beautifully. This was a high end event so presentation, as well as food quality, was important to us. Food was displayed on silver trays and hot items in silver chafing dishes with different elevations so it all looked interesting and creative (wish I could include a picture). We were never actually able to do a “tasting” due to the pandemic and an out-of-town bride, but had a highly successful Zoom meeting with Holly, their event coordinator, and she took wonderful notes and didn’t miss a thing we discussed. We wanted more unique and elegant appetizers and Holly was able to make wonderful recommendations. One of our wedding guests told the bride, “this is the best wedding food I have ever tasted!” Another said, “it was nice to have something other than chicken fingers”. Some of the really delicious and popular items with guests were the: Bang Bang Chicken, mini crab cakes, Swiss and bacon stuffed pastry and the herb encrusted beef tenderloin sliders. Robbie, Holly and the wait staff were professional and very easy to work with. No stress at all with this vendor! The prices were reasonable and felt I received great quality, service and attention. Highly recommend!

I cannot begin to thank Holly and everyone at Happy enough for the incredible experience we had with them catering our wedding August 14th 2020! Holly is the sweetest human being, and such an effective communicator! She got back to us promptly, and was always willing to answer any and all questions we had. We took the non-traditional route and had breakfast for dinner, they didn’t bat an eye when we asked for it, and needed vegan options as well! The food is INCREDIBLE, the staff are so friendly and fun! We were able to try the food before hand, and we were not disappointed! It was set up just like it was at our wedding. The day of the wedding we were able to have a private meal (away from guests and prying family members, I highly recommended) it was delicious! And they sent with us food to eat at the hotel (because you will want to eat twice that night!) and it was so sweet to share that meal again. They even made sure everything was within Covid guidelines; gloves, masks, and individual cups of items for minimal contact. I cannot recommend them enough!

Ive used Happy Catering twice for work meetings and lunches. I normally do not handle or manage food arrangements, but had to at the last minute and found this company around Christmas time last year. They were incredibly helpful and able to fill in when we had less than 1 weeks notice for a Christmas lunch together in December. Used their services again this AM for an early morning meeting. Their interactions are quick and concise via email. I communicate best this way. Originally planed for 6:20am delivery, then asked them the week before if I can move it to a 6am delivery. They had no issues and was here on time this morning. Their delivery person was very pleasant and helpful. I definitely recommend them and will use this company again in the future. Thanks

We had our daughters wedding scheduled for August 1 2020 during the pandemic of 2020. We hired this catering company back in July 2019 and paid $1000 deposit and were looking forward to the reception. As the state laws started changing about face coverings and social distaning in Jefferson County we elected to relocate to our residence in another town. We contacted this company 30 days out and explained our situation via email. After two emails it was clear they were not going to give us our money back. We asked for a $1000 worth of food for the money and they said NO. They said Read your contract. Planning a wedding is hard and when you deal with a sketchy company like this you learn a real hard lesson. Please do not hire this company...They will keep your money. Bill is very rude and not understanding. You have many choices for catering in Birmingham, Please whatever you do.....DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!

The Happy Catering Company exceeded so many of my expectations during my wedding! First of all, the team is so friendly and approachable which made it fun to meet with them during the entire wedding planning process. We recently used Happy Catering for an all day staff retreat. They provided breakfast, lunch, and beverages for 60 people without any hiccups throughout the day. The food was excellent, and the service was delightful! Everything was set up upon our arrival exactly as we had discussed. Zeddie, the kind gentleman serving us double checked with me first thing in the morning about what time we preferred to transition from on meal to the next. He was very accommodating and thoughtfully left some of the breakfast pastries out for snacking between meals. His service was quite flexible, punctual, and never disruptive to our meeting. The food was absolutely delicious! Everything was served at the appropriate temperature, and set up for us to move smoothly along the buffet line with no trouble or bottle necking. Holly was also a pleasure to work with. She helped us place our order and made all of the necessary arrangements. The entire experience was easy, well priced, and very satisfying. I LOVE Happy Catering! I recently used them for an event at Cahaba Brewing Company. They provided boxed lunches for a couple hundred people along with a buffet for our VIP guests. Happy Catering stayed on top of everything and kept up great communication, showed up early and even helped us set everything up. Did I mention how good the food was?Because it was DELICIOUS! I booked Happy Catering for my wedding in May 2019 with the expectations of great food and great customer service. My interactions with the staff leading up to my wedding were great. I had a fear of running out of food, however the staff continued to reassure me that we would not run out of food. On the day of my wedding we ran out of my two meats (chicken skewers and roast beef) within the first 45 minutes of my reception. Our headcount that we submitted to Happy Catering was significantly lower than the headcount on my wedding day due to getting married on a holiday weekend. I was first told of us running out of meat after my father/daughter dance - before my cake cutting. Instead of finding a way to cook more meat they went to Zaxbys and got buckets of chicken fingers to serve at my reception. I was unaware of this decision, especially since I was being told that there was meat on the grill. Another complaint is that the bartender decided to close the bar down 15 minutes before the reception even though we had PLENTY of beer and wine left over. I had multiple complaints from my guest about the bar being closed early with beer and wine left over.Thankfully these details went unnoticed by most of my wedding guests because of the amazing band that we had present. If we didnt have a great band then the focus would have been on the lack of food.After we returned to the country from our honeymoon, myself and my father in law were both in touch with the Robbie Dyson chef owner operator to discuss our complaints and concerns from Happy Catering. Robbie has terrible customer service. Instead of apologizing for the poor decisions and pre planning of the company he argued every point, even though he was not present at my reception. Robbie Dyson turned my experience with Happy Catering into a horrible experience. Having to deal and argue with him after returning from my honeymoon was terrible.I recommend for all brides to do their research and book another catering company to save themselves from the headache that Happy Catering has caused me.

My husband and I live in Georgia, so when our daughter’s wedding was set in Birmingham, we scoured reviews for catering companies to handle the wedding reception. We decided on Happy Catering and all the arrangements were made for them to serve our 270 guests dinner and drinks from the bar. I wish I could give a glowing review but unfortunately, that is NOT the case.The caterers ran out of one of the (2) main course items on the buffet (roast beef sliders), an hour after the reception began. The catering “captain” did not inform the wedding planner about this and there was no additional food made until we asked they bring in some sort of substitution.As for the bar, well here goes: We were told that (2) bars and (3) bartenders would be enough to keep things flowing smoothly. We had beer, wine, champagne, Margaritas (pre-mixed in decanters by the bar staff) and a REALLY NICE bourbon. The catering staff did not bring enough coolers and ice to chill the beer and we had to ask two of our guests (good friends) to go get two more coolers. The bartenders were told the bourbon was for a select few and could only be served neat or on the rocks to make sure it was enjoyed by our more MATURE guests and not poured too heavily. They ignored this and OVER SERVED several of the TWENTY-SOMETHINGS at the party. We provided the tequila and margarita mixer for the bar and gave mixing instructions to the bar staff. When one of our guests wanted a margarita, the bartender said she didn’t know how to make them and asked our guest if SHE knew. Then, a bartender proceeded to take a USED glass, did not empty it or get a NEW one, and rimmed it on the salt rimmers that were used for all the guests! A VERY UNSANITARY PRACTICE! Additionally, we had a bartender attempt to shut down his bar early when we ran low on beer, even though we still had wine, champagne, margaritas and bourbon at that bar. There was no attempt to proactively communicate any of these issues to the wedding planner or the hosts.The leftover food was not boxed up and given to us as promised. We did not get any of the bourbon back even though we know there were AT LEAST 2 bottles left.When we contacted them about the disappointing service, we were met with a total unwillingness to accept any responsibility whatsoever, and even hostility.As I said before, I had hoped to give Happy Catering a stellar review, but I cannot. My husband and I were expecting a flawless, issue-free celebration of our daughter’s marriage and that is not what we received. We only wanted to post this review to better inform potential consumers. In other words, buyer beware!

Happy Caterings food was great, and their customer service is excellent. They were also quick to respond to emails and were very thorough and helpful in their responses. Highly recommend.

The food is wonderful! Great food for a great affordable price. I have used them 6 times since mid 2015 and will be using them for my next event.

We recently had an event at Old Car Heaven and used Happy for catering. I cannot say enough good things about the peolpe with Happy! The food was delicious and priced great! We asked for food for 150 people and at the end of the evening were surprised when they came to us with additional pans of food for us to take home. They way over prepared!Bill and Shannon were both very responsive and easy to contact when we had questions.I will deff use happy again!

I recently attended a wedding catered by Happy Catering. The presentation was glorious and the food was phenomenal. The wait staff was polite and more than friendly. Dont know about prices and charges, but this catering company was worth every cent.

Worst food I’ve ever eaten. Would NEVER use these people ever again. They catered my wedding. The filet mignon they serve is a glorified pot roast. I’d be careful. If you get upset about spending $15000 on pot roast and tell them you’re upset they say oh well your guests seemed to enjoy our $15000 pot roast

Happy Catering and our account manager Holly were AMAZING. My husband’s family from Brazil was coming for our wedding and we worked with the chef to create traditional pão de queijo (cheese bread balls). They were so great about tweaking flavors until we got everything we wanted. To this day (almost a year later) people still rave about the food at our wedding. #success
