Membership store similar to Costco. Good selection, great, friendly employees, and good prices. I was buying snacks for a conference and got everything I needed in one stop. Highly recommended! Give it a try!

Ocean state will sell you damaged goods, and not accept a return or exchange, and just tell you to call the manufacturer. I have never seen a business operate like this, especially only 3 days after purchase! Also, tried calling the store for about an hour, no one answers. So I drive to the store to get a copy of my receipt to contact the manufacturer, and in 2021 they cant even do that! I got a phone number for customer service. I asked why they dont answer their phones, and the employee was overly rude. Wouldve saved me the trip. Complaint also files with BBB and if no resolution will file a charge back. No way you can sell me damaged goods and offer no resolution!Update:. Customer service was able to handle my request, call the store and educate them of their return policy, and get me in and out. Leaving my review at 4 stars since I dont understand why they cant answer the phone at the store, but I am more than satisfied with my customer service experience and resolution.

Every time I go into Ocean State Job Lot I have high hopes of finding an amazing deal or an item that I never knew I needed. Neither has happened yet but I havent given up hope.

They have great sales on bags of nuts, gluten free snacks for reasonable prices, dog treats also reasonable I got my puppy a beef knee that goes for $6+ at high-end pet stores for $2 really good deals sales associates are meh as far as attitude but not going there to make friends but a friendly hello couldnt hurt lol...adding pic of snack my son picked $1.50

Great yard goods-- all manner of earthenware pots, fertilizers, furniture,bulbs, seeds, etc. Great food items--gourmet, every day, gluten free,nuts, spices, etc. cook ware, pets needs, rugs, clothes--all atgreat prices. I am there regularly & always find great bargains.

The only thing its changes over to.many managers seems they dont stay long enough to get a chance to be there for a second not sure if they are going to be there long enough changeable to often

This store was clean looking but as you shop you notice spots that need a cleaning. People were quiet..as you enter the store ..No-one welcomes you. Assists you..or even looks at you.Theres alot to see.. Alot of isles.. Some products are priced by manufacturer..so they dont have a shelf label..Reminds me of dollar tree.. Alot packed in..The door is wheel chair width.. Inside theres alot to see.. Walk around slow ..merchandise is crammed onto shelves..Lines move quickly on checkout..at that point your talked to..Ask for VA discount if it applys..Parking is immense.. Well marked.. Wheel chair parking/disabled parking well marked..Dont forget your card!!!

Great place to shop! Fun to browse. Lots of discounts from spices, tea, snacks to rugs, pool supplies and pet supplies. I love shopping at Ocean State Job Lots. My number one go to store! No cold food items but there is is alot more of everything else!

Thank goodness I called Nashua & Derry before driving there for an advertised item as neither had it. Contacted the Hooksett store and they had the item s o off I went for the 45min drive instead of the 15min drive I would of had if I shopped in Nashua.All the stores associates are always extremely helpful and have always put customer first. Big thank you for good workers.

Had some decent stuff compared to portsmouth store. I before store having sleeves for most of what store sells the table just make it more cramp

Google says they open at 8AM Monday-Wednesday, they actually open at 9AM. Drive 25 minutes to get there, to sit and wait.

Went in looking for an advertised special, couldn’t find it, finally ask a women working there she says she doesn’t know where the item is???? Really doesn’t management have their employees know where items are? Especially sale items.... I eventually found the item with NO help from workers, very disappointed this woman didn’t even try to help me, just went and started putting carriages back, please address this issue with your employees

I hadnt been this way in a while because of the pandemic and the lines were always terrible and theres not enough room between the aisles and where to line up. But I went back today and when I asked an employee where I could find something he proceeded to tell me if I was looking for something specific I should go to Walmart. Ummmm ok

Popular place, long line to check out but they opened lots of registers and it went quick. Good prices but $40 for a gal of hand sanitizer is a bit much for me. Americans have become even more obsessed with cleanliness since Covid.

There was an issue with a clerk asking a child about a service dog that disrupted the front end. It was not the clerks fault. Also I went there specifically looking for a knife you used to carry to be disappointed that its no linger there. Otherwise not so bad.

Not everything is a great deal so do your research. Also, you cant expect items you purchase to be in stock ever again. But the range of product is high, there are plenty of good deals, and the staff is very friendly.

Awesome. Got 6 ft long phone charger. Love it. Cashier was polite and had a sassy humor. She remembered me from before. She knew I didnt do the rewards bucks thing I said I would do and didnt....LOL. You never knew when your going to need something quick and go back again.

They never seem to have enough registers opened. There was only one register opened today. It was at a standstill for 10 minutes because of a price issue. Common sense should dictate that you open another register. I dont think the managers train the employees properly. Abandoned my cart.

I truly feel bad for the employees here.Im pretty forgiving considering the current state of the world, but this place is just a mess, both literally and metaphorically.Boxes everywhere, stock all over the place; carts unattended in the middle of aisles, full of stock waiting to be put on the shelves...bare shelves everywhere because of it. ONE lone cashier with a line literally wrapped around the store.It would have been laughable except there were multiple other employees doing what I often see them doing on the rare occasion I stop in here: chatting amongst themselves or texting in an aisle in the back of the store. There was one employee stocking lawn chairs by the registers - an older gentleman with glasses, I believe one of the managers. He was right next to the checkout line. He watched it get longer and longer and never once did he go help. Not once did he call anyone else to help. Just kept taking those foldable lawn chairs out of the box and putting them in the display bin.I get it: Im sure lots of things are just out of stock and thats why most of the shelves were empty, not their fault if less important items (like the dog beds I was looking for) didnt get shipped to them. But it IS their fault if, when I ask where the gloves they have advertised are, the only response is I dont know.I also get that for the people working here, this is a deadend job that doesnt pay them enough to survive, even with the 2% extra that this cheapskate company is charging customers in order to give employees hazard pay, and they obviously dont get any support from management, so theres no real reason to do much of anything.I typically have no problem waiting in line if I dont have anywhere particular to be, but since they didnt have what I went in for and I couldnt find the gloves myself, I wasnt going to wait 45 minutes for a bunch of stuff I didnt actually need. I feel a little bad about abandoning my cart, but I feel even worse for the woman at the register who had to deal with grumpy customers all by herself when there were plenty of other employees available to help.

Always a great place to find just about anything. They always stock a wide variety of general goods and foods, but like all odd lot buyers, they also have wacky and/or wonderful and/or odd-ball items available at terrific prices. Its entertaining just to give it a thorough walk-through every couple of weeks! Friendly staff, and their ads offerbonus buys where in, if you buy a certain item for x dollars, they give you back a percentage of that price in the form of a gift card. Sometimes the gift card is 100% of what you paid!

I like this chain. But stores are usually dirty and disorganised. So you have to hunt a little.They have some really great sales and carry some items you cant get anywhere else.

Love this place. Cheap and cheerful. The staff are very friendly. Its a bargain store, so dont expect high class goods, but solid for the cheap stuff.

The prices are low, they have a little bit of everything. The bad part is the store layout and the extraordinary long wait in line. Normally only one person running a register.

I love this place. They have great deals in general, and on top often have specials that are absolutely wonderful. The staff is always great and helpful. I bring my son here when we need to burn time and wander around just cause theres so much to see. Always leave there with something in my hand.

I come to Ocean State often and do like your store. There is only one thing that gets me every time I go and it is the bathrooms.The bathrooms could be updated. Also to get to the bathroom you have to find a hole in the lines to get there. Get rid of last register and put an opening there.

Hi. I was in there this evening with my service dog. I have severe Cervical Spinal Stenosis and she helps me with balance, walking, etc. However, when I was there, a lady in the store motorized wheelchair had a tiny black dog with her walking beside her. I was down an aisle with my service dog. The womans dog stopped, pulled away from her, growled and barked at my service dog. REAL service dogs are NOT supposed to do that. My service dog was distracted and did not like how the womans dog growled and barked at her. Then, the woman put her dog in the basket for the rest of the time she was in the store! A REAL SERVICE DOG DOES NOT SIT IN A BASKET. The woman thought it was funny how her dog acted. I am not laughing. Not only was my service dog distracted, but, because her dog was pulling away from her towards us growling and barking, my dog pulled my bad shoulder a little bit when she stepped in front of me to try to shoo the little dog away. EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ANIMALS ARE NOT SERVICE DOGS AND, LEGALLY, SHOULD NOT BE IN ANY STORE/RESTAURANT. I believe her dog was an emotional support animal and not a service dog. Regardless, her dog did not act like a real service dog in fact, it urinated in parts of the store! I told the manager. He went to find her. Supposedly, he asked her if her dog was a service dog. Unfortunately, many think that Emotional Support Animals are service dogs therefore have the same legal rights as a real service dog. This is not true. There are only 2 questions that a manager can ask about a persons dog. Please please read the American Disabilities Act laws. I couldve called the cops on that woman just for how her dog acted to mine. That is a FAKE service dog. I wish managers everywhere would study the laws and speak up to the people with fake working dogs. A service dog should never defecate in a store either. Her dog did. I am appalled.

This place is a dump and I feel dirty being in it... Plus side- they do have some good name brand stuff for a good price- hit or miss for me. Love coming here during the holidays to buy Christmas wrapping supplies and decorative boxes to put baked goods in. bags and boxes can be pricey else where and they have great prices and cute selection for that stuff.

This is the Job Lot I travel to when I need something that is out of stock locally. Its a great store, people are nice and they have much better selection than other stores. Would go more often but 30+ minutes from home

Affordable pricing, large selection and friendly staff. I always find awesome deals here. Its a great alternative to big box stores.Their sales and crazy deals cant be beat. They feature quality items at clearance pricing. There are always new products cvoming in so it is like shopping a new store every time.Inside it looks a little dated, but clean, and sometimes can be slightly disorganized, but totally make up for that, with their product selection and pricing.They offer everything from housewares to furniture, food, seasonal items, clothing, shoes and toys. Totally worth checking out.

I shop the store often. Great deals and the employees are very pleasant. Yesterday, waiting in line to make a return and a purchase, I encountered and impatient, angry and threatening male patron. He made quite a scene trying to return an item. Ryan, the store manager, handled the whole situation very calmly and professionally.
