9/4/21 - bought a small util. carry-on trailer and had excellent customer service at time of sale with several of the employees, who were all helpful. Keith, who helped hitch the trailer to my vehicle did an especially good job making sure that I felt comfortable with the trailer connection and satisfied with everything before leaving.

I placed a large order (over 150.00) and found out I would have to pay shipping! I just left, and a few days later received an e-mail that said if I ordered over 49.00 I could get free shipping! I went back to site and logged in and all I left earlier was still in my cart and I was very satisfied with the price when I received free shipping! I will be shopping here in the future as long as I can get DEALS!

The northern Tool store in Hoover, Al. is a great place to purchase from. They have always had a variety of products that I like to browse through and I can always find what I need or they will order it. Very friendly atmosphere.

I am selective in my spending and can get great deals here. I use Milwaukee M12 and M18 products. Have not killed one yet.Staffed well with no waiting.

Have so many items; personable staff; hard to notfind what youre looking for.

Horrible customer service. I had a return gift from my wife and when I walked in I was greeted from a woman behind the counter with “let me guess, you have a return”, like I was bothering her. I then spent the next 20 min with the other person behind the counter trying to figure out how to refund the item. Because it was an online order all I had was the email of the order he couldn’t figure out how to refund the purchase to my wife. Amazing it’s 2020 and a company like this is so inefficient. Good thing I have a Harbor Freight near where I live that have better prices and customer service.

Great products and availability. Only complaint is I went into the store twice to try and order parts from the parts counter. The first time I waited for 10 mins for someone to finally tell me that the parts guy was on lunch. I didnt have time to wait so I came back a couple days later. Tried again to get some assistance for another 10 mins only to then be told that that location didnt even have a parts counter person. This was the same guy that told me the parts guy was on lunch two days before.

Very easy and quick great experience

I normally have a great experience in the store, but not today. I was ready to spend some money on some equipment and asked it they had a certain item and was kinda blown off. Sad thing was there were maybe 3 cards in parking lot so they werent very busy. I asked another person for some help and I waited while they assisted another customer. They never returned to help me, I saw the customer they were assisting leave the store.

3.5 stars if I could. It took a week longer than what they quoted me and the mechanic never called back when he said he would. but I am very satisfied with the way they handled the situation they waived the fee and said they wanted me to be satisfied and the mechanic did a awesome job fixing my go kart. I will take the extra time any day if my equipment gets fixed properly and the store stands behind their work. With all that said I appreciate the management looking for costumer satisfaction and appreciate the way they handled the situation thanks

I tried relying on Northern for my Auto Shop specialty tools once. It resulted in me ordering a 22 Ton hydraulic floor jack, waiting a week to get it, going to the store and picking it up, bringing it home and assembling it to find out that it doesnt hold air. Nobody seemed very concerned that we were gonna put a lot of weight on a jack that was obviously defective. Wish that were it. I called the store and told them the story and that I just wanted to return it. Employee said sure, Ill let a manager know youre coming. I get there, and was told that I needed an online return code. The online store was closed, go figure. Its almost like I called before I drove down there to save a potentially wasted trip. Trip number 3, it was finally returned. 3 trips for a defective and unsafe product and I was treated like I was the one not following process? Someone should start a parts store called Southern Tool and they make good products that are safe and dependable and when someone calls before they drive there for a return, employees that will help ensure times not wasted. This will be the last business exchange with Northern Tool, I just dont have time to run around all day due to defective products from the box.

Great customer service! I had ordered some tool chest online through Amazon and when they arrived they were banged up pretty bad. I had not noticed they originally shipped from northern tool. I figured it easiest to return them to our local store and get a refund or swap out for new ones. The store manager Ben was so polite and had a no questions asked attitude which I appreciated.

First time walking into a Northern Tool store. I went there to purchase a blower fan for a wet floor. Web site said in stock, store said seasonal and would have to order. Ok, so I ordered this and to save shipping had it shipped to store. This took 2 days shy of 2 weeks. I now understand why there parking lot is always empty, and Harbor Freight is always full. Clean store, terrible service, and not impressed with employees either in store or in customer service. I will say, it seems more about company procedures than employees fault.

This was my first visit to the retail store and definitely not my last!!! Excellent selection available! Staff was very helpful too!!!!!

I selected a few items, took them to the register, handed over my credit card, and was asked for my phone number. I declined to provide my phone number but the clerk insisted. I told him to use the store number or a made up number but he told me that he would get in trouble for that. I left without the merchandize and have not, will not go back.I might have given them my phone number if it werent for all those robo calls and if I had gotten something in return but I dont like getting pressed for it.

Hard to get to and hard to figure out where the main entrance door is located but after you are inside they do have a lot of good deals. Very similar to Harbour Freight.

Bought a (cheap) pressure washer. Used it for 2 weeks and it started smoking (water leaking into oil, some kind of damaged seal or something). Had a 90 day manufacturers warranty but they refused the claim suggesting I had submerged the unit or something like that. Save yourself the time and hassle and go elsewhere.

I’m happy to know it wasn’t just me because of the terrible experience I had there yesterday ! I actually though the store was racist or something until I read these reviews . It was a true definition of terrible customer service brought a 700$ pressure washer nobody even spoke to me when I came in they looked at me like “why are you here “ Finally I said something to the lady and she spoke back (The only halfway/ helpful person ) . Well she couldn’t lift the box and ask for somebody to come help they rolled a cart over and walked off . After that she asked for somebody to come help me with it to my car ... I knew nobody was coming I just slid it on to my truck and hopefully they came in got the cart out of the parking lot . WILL NEVER GO BACK ! Terrible

Got a freeky Weirdo at the front and they will walk away from you while your talking to them. It was suggested I go to Northern Tool to find a 22mm crows ft because Adv Auto nor Harbor Freight have. They dont have it either so I was like, l guess I am going to have to go to Atlanta just to get this tool. The little guy just walked away like I wasnt even talking to him. I just left and wont go back.

A couple months ago I purchased a 1599$ pressure washer from Northern tool. They made no mention of swapping the oil cap. After running the equipment for 5 hrs the pump stopped working. I head to nt and the machine falls over in my truck causing oil on top of the piston. They tell me the oil cap should have been changed out on the pump, and that my pump and motor are now bad from the fall and running with the oil plug in it . (My fault I should read up more on the instructions) The service tech named trey is a complete jack a** and a douche bag. He takes my machine and keeps it for over a month, no phone call or anything. I finally get in touch with him and he tells me the motor and pump are fried. Nothing can be done, except he can sell me a new pump and motor for 1300. I bring the equipment home and tinker with it out of curiosity and I realise, he never attempted to fix anything. My motor still runs fine and the pump had a $100 part go bad. Trey never put a wrench on the machine. I know this Im not even a Paid mechanic and I fixed it. I feel like this is poor service at best! I do not reccomend the hoover/vestavia location!
