Overall, excellent shopping experience, and knowledgeable staff. I appreciated having an electronic cart after my Stroke, although the aisles were JUST barely big enough for it to Navigate. Beware of Displays and Stockers blocking open areas.Store is well organized overall, well stocked, and had a better selection than the big box competition. Including the high end sewing machines that I have only recently learned about.They DO have an App and Website where you can order, then pick up at the local store.As I am new to the idea, I will probably drag myself in to select materials, for now.

Love shopping here but I bought remnants of fleece that were folded up and wrapped where you couldnt look at it and when I opened several of them, they were a yard long but not much width to use like I wanted and needed. They should have it where you can actually look at it and see what your actually buying. Other than that, its a great place to shop.

I found most of the staff to be short and not very helpful. When I asked for help, I was told they did not carry the type of fabric I was looking for, but after a couple minutes of hunting on my own, I found an entire display with the specific type of fabric. Love going here but you have to pay attention to prices when checking out. Seems they make up prices at checkout especially on clearance items.

We went looking for material to recover six dining chairs. Could not believe both the quantity and quality of the selection.Literally rows of fantastic options in both printed and woven heavy upholstery grade fabrics.Since our our yard needs are low, we had the option of fifty plus remnant bolts discounted 60%.Staff was happily helpful and knowledgeable.

I usually really like Joann Fabrics, but there were not many fabrics in stock. It seemed that many fabrics were not plentiful. Im not sure if Covid has caused this shortage or not, but it made shopping very difficult.

I go to JoAnns a lot with my friend, Denise, because she spends her spare time painting, sewing, journaling, making candles and jewelry, etc. and she is always on the hunt for new ideas, inspiration, and materials. We usually find what shes looking for at JoAnns in Hoover. The employees are very customer service oriented and knowledgeable.. they dont mind answering questions or giving you a hand. Ill definitely be back!

I have been in here a lot lately Im making my granddaughter a quilt, so Ive been picking fabric and threads and so on. Love the employee there they are so friendly and helpful. Keep up the good work everybody.

Drove an hour one way for fabric and a spool of thread to finish a Christmas project. Drove an hour home; opened the bag and no thread. Store gave me a credit over the phone but lost at least a day on the project and will have to go out again for thread. Useless employees.

Combine coupons and get amazing discounts on all sorts of sewing and craft essentials. I love this location although its a little small and are out of things I need more often than not. Still a great amount of fabric to choose from tho.

The employees seem nice and knowledgeable. I personally feel that their prices are a little higher than other craft stores in the area but still competitive. The only way to get their coupons is to download their app and create an account which Im not a fan of. Other than that they have really cute decor and pretty much everything for your crafting or sewing needs.

Thus the 2 stars.I am a professional seamstress and have been here repeatedly, due to necessity, and in hopes that the customer service would improve.The employees that I encounter, display an openly negative attitude. When Im spending my money, the vibe I get from the place that is collecting my money should not be, OMG please go away.Im the future, my business with Joann fabrics will be done online.

You can pretty much find anything you need when it comes to arts, crafts, sewing, knitting, painting, formal, framing etc. You will also find a ton of more stuff that you probably dont need but you still end up buying it because you love it!! 😜 And...the people working there have been very helpful and kind every time I go.

Absolutely love this place. They have the best prices around and dont forget your coupon. Also, they have special online prices so you can order online and pick-up in the store.

The store was well organized and I found what I needed without any trouble. Lots of great fabrics to choose from. Easy to get to the location from the interstate.I feel like a couple more employees wouldnt hurt this location. I had to wait about 20 minutes to get one piece of fabric cut and then the line at the register was also very long because there was only one (very nice gentleman) employee stationed up there. Maybe I came during an unusually busy time but they seemed understaffed.

I stopped in for the Christmas sales and there were many the crafts were very nice the ready made Christmas ornaments and cards and everything else were really pretty thats a good place to visit and browse sometimes you see something that youre not looking for but you need and or want.

Just enjoy coming into the store. I can always find something to buy.

I LOVE THIS STORE! I have been sewing since I was 12 and Im nearly 69 now. Their selection of fabrics is fantastic! The only reason Im not giving them a 5 is because they way overpriced their fabrics. The customer service was really good and the ladies very helpful!

I went in today and wanted to purchase some rotary blades which were all in a locked display. After walking through the entire store, I found a clerk in the back who was placing bolts of fabric back on the shelf. I asked if she could assist me by unlocking the cabinet with the blades so I could buy them. She turned to me and said “ I will after my break” and then she walked behind the fabric counter and picked up more fabric bolts to return to the shelves! I was so dumbfounded I was speechless. I promptly left the store and found what I needed at Hobby Lobby where they are more polite and helpful to their customers.

The support you offering to all the communities you are in by supplying and cutting materials to make medical masks is nothing short of spectacular. Thank you for the commitment you have.

Kathleen was at the fabric cutting area and was doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and I walked up with my mother to get some fabrics cut and she proceeded to completely ignore us for five minutes until another employee walked by and told us to take a number. After taking a number it still took her about two more minutes to acknowledge us to which she asked us if we were ready, once replying that we were ready, SHE IGNORED US FOR ANOTHER FEW MINUTES. She finally cut our fabrics and it was the WORST experience I have ever had at a JoAnn’s. The customer service was great embarrassing and could be made such a joke it could be on SNL.

It’s a smaller store, so don’t look for extensive variety. Despite the smaller store than usual, there is a good variety in types of products sold. But, expect friendly and helpful staff.

I work with a nonprofit organization, Threads of Love, and buy a lot of fabric and yarn. Every time I visit I receive the best service. All team members are patient and help me get the most bang for my buck. I will gladly recommend the Hoover, Al location.
