Very disgruntled management. By far the rudest human in Houston. Recommended not to shop here, go anywhere else but this place. This guy is like a feisty chihuahua, all bark and no play.
I really enjoyed my time here. Twice a month they open up their arcade showroom to the public for all you can play video games for only $15. Its connected to a bar, so you can have drinks with friends while you play hundreds of different full size arcade games. They have everything from classic arcade to modern games. When they first open the door, theres a very long line and its extremely crowded in there, but as it gets later in the night, the crowd thins out and you can get a lot more play time in. I would suggest waiting out the crowd, its worth it. Bring your friends and have a great time, I know I did!
If classic arcade games for sale is what you are after, Joystix Games comes highly recommended, providing a massive collection of new and classic arcade games in their inventory. They have a full catalog of pinball machines, arcade games, sports and racing games, carnival games, table games, and even music and dance games, perfect for those who are looking for unique games to add to their personal game room collection or their party lineup. They make it easy to search for arcade games and cabinets that they offer by keeping a list of available games organized by category, so you can find what you need quickly.
I’ve been searching for a company that offered arcade games for sale and have found no luck online until I came across Joystix Games. No other classic games provider has the same range of arcade games as they do, including some of the rarest games from years ago. You’ll be spoilt for choice as you browse through the countless game cabinets that they have on offer, whether you are looking for old classics or perhaps newer games that appeal to the younger generation. If you are a fan of original arcade games, however, this is the perfect place to turn to, as they offer the best selection of old titles from decades ago.
Called to confirm the times... showed up around 10pm. No lines and free security staffed parking. Lot of police... they were really friendly. My group of friends and I really enjoyed it. I would 100% recommend. The video game section is amazing and atmosphere is great. Join people mid game and help them beat levels...
Well I talked to the owner himself about rent/purchasing he was kind of enough to give some details but quickly rushed me to email him about it. And I did just that..No Reply. Gave him a few days..STILL NO REPLY.
Bought Big Buck Hunter Reloaded for my shop, it was delivered and set up the very next day. Charlie couldnt have been more helpful during this process! Golden Tee is next!!!!!
Fun place to go with some friends when you got nothing to do on a Friday night. There is usually a food truck and the food is okay there. The games are fun. Recently it has been getting a lot more packed so it is best to go early. My only issue is that the bartenders need some work.
In my opinion this is one of Houstons Gem. Open every first and last Friday of the month to the public. You get a wristband in Eighteen Twenty Lounge, bring cash, only then will you have access Joystix Games. All the gaming you can handle. Doors open at 9 P.M. The staff from both Eighteen Twenty Lounge & Joystix are very friendly which is always welcoming.
My husband, his best friend, and myself went to Joystix last night (Friday July 5). It was great! I notice quite a few negative reviews because it isnt open to the public or people go at anytime expecting to be able to play. That is not how it works! As far as I know, Joystix is open one the first and last Friday of every month. From 9pm-2am. We happened to go an Astros game had just let out so it was a little packed with fans heading out after the game. Other than that, we loved it! Any pinball machine you can imagine, they have it! And they are all in good working order. If one stopped working or a ball got stuck, an employee was there within a few moments to fix it. I only came across one or two games that were not working. It is $15 for all you can play. CASH ONLY! There are two bars available to order drinks and they have a food truck parked outside, in case you get hungry. We will definitely be back!!! Awesome place!!!
Highly recommend a visit on their open nights! Particularly after an Astros win! Staff was friendly, facility was clean. Kinda crowded but everyone was friendly and there werent any game hogs.
JUST A HEADS UP! NOT A WALK IN ARCADE. RESERVATION ONLY. But other than that saw what was inside and looked to be quite amazing. Nice staff. ;)
Its only open to the public every first and last Friday of the month from 9pm-2am and its CASH ONLY. The line to pay for the $15 gaming wristbands was out the door before 9pm! Its 21+ only and they do ask for ID. Street parking is free downtown after 6pm even if its a metered spot. Joystick a fun experience. There are tons of unique pinball machines and lots of classic arcade games. For the few virtual reality games, we had to wait about five minutes each time because it was crowded and they are popular. Its nice that all the games are set to free play so you can play the whole game without having to keep swiping a card or pay more if your screen character dies. Its worth the price, and definately a different and unique experince for date night, or friend or family outing.
What an awesome experience. Its really nice that the owner has open play twice a month. Theres not a lot of spots in town where you can have such a unique selection of classic arcade games. Many thanks!
Great relaxing place to go with friends and play some arcade games. The staff here are really nice and the games are great. This bar/arcade has a lounge vibe. Never had any problems here.
Arcade stores are a dying breed in America culture, but Joystix does well to maintain its place in the community. The last couple of times Ive been to Joystix have been really sentimental for me. I had one of my friends going away party here a weeks ago and it really threw me back into the days of original gaming. The staff here was exceptionally friendly (especially Jeffrey who helped me get one of the pinball machines going!). The snack bar was great and had nearly everything you could need for a night of gaming. Fair prices for good fun, thanks Joystix for being one of the few game shops out there!
I purchased an AC/DC pinball from Joystix about 7 months ago. They gave me a fair price on the pinball, but where they really distinguish themselves is with their after sales service. I am very impressed with their technical skill and knowledge. Clearly, Charlie is in this business for the long haul. I highly recommend Joystix.
I went for a birthday party and had an absolute blast! Was kinda glued to the blast from the past Ms. Pac-man machine a lot, and my Long Island was made like back home -- Miami! That was a first and pretty reasonably priced too. Customer service was great, and the place was clean with an awesome ambiance. I definitely plan on going back...
Great place! My kids had so much fun!
Pac man Fever is awesome!! Recommend for anyone in the area. Have cash for wristband and get there at 9, it fills up fast!!
I came to the Pac-Man fever on Friday night of this past week. I was looking forward to having a night of drinking and playing games with my friends. I was very disappointed to find out that kids were let in. The website specifically says 21 and older. There were groups of teenagers and younger kids there which I did not expect. It’s fine if the events are open to all ages but the website should not advertise that it’s 21 and older.
Its cool the first and last Friday of the month. they could really use more variety on their arcades. some of the cabinets were messed up. joy sticks not working. or restarting in mid game.
Love this company. They just fixed my arcade machine and now I am going to get them to fix my pinball machine.
The wonderful thing about Joystix is its easily the largest arcade with the most pinball tables in the Houston area. The crappy thing about Joystix is its only open to the public as an arcade two Friday evenings out of the month and on those nights it is packed to the ceiling. Entry is $15 per person and they seem to sell as many wristbands as they can without stopping to think how many people can conceivably play in there at one time. At best, expect to hover behind the person currently playing the game you want to play for awhile while dodging others who make their way through the cramped aisles looking for an empty machine. Its something of a cruel tease because the place has a TON of games and pinballs that seem very well-maintained, but on the nights its actually open its a straight-up fire hazard in there.
The place is amazing a true blast from the past. Went with my best friend and wife and we had a great time. Had so much fun it was like a dream.
More people need to know about this place! My wife and I drove by it accidentally and I remembered the name. Every first and last Friday of the month they have an arcade night where everything is free, and I couldnt be more thrilled. (You have to pay to get in of course. They have to make money somehow.) Not only do they allow you to play these games, they sell them! My wife and I will definitely be back to buy.
Unbelievable good time...you dont need a Delorean to transport you to play classic arcades. Plethora of pinball games and new arcades alike. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Bar was full of favorite local brews.
Its just like walking into an arcade from the 80s and 90s! Its only open to the public for arcade play on two weekends per month, but its absolute old school fun for a great price!
Great place for a date night or just to chill out and play some pool. Some games werent working, but overall, it was pretty great. The food truck outside were awesome
This was a fantastic arcade. Unlike some of the other grown up arcades Ive been to, there wasnt a single broken machine. It was nice to just pay one entrance fee and then have unlimited access to all of the machines. I hate tracking credits with a dumb card at the other places. There were SO many pinball machines, all sorts of classics and some new-fangled ones. The classic machines were much better.
If youre about hitting the sticks, then this is the place to be. When theyre open that is, and that seems to be the biggest issue. When its open its pretty packed to the gills. Otherwise, yeah theres a crowd. Yeah some can be obnoxious. But honestly, if youre out with friends, you can afford a few minutes between games. $15 dollars for a wristband that covers a whole nights worth.Honestly, theyre unmatched.
I came here for a happy hour, and it was tons of fun! The bar is pretty chill and all the games are on Free Play! The games were free for an event at the time - Im not sure Id pay the $15 to play otherwise, but Id consider it every once in a while. Finding out their bar/lounge hours is kind of tough, though.
If you want to get your fix of new and old arcade and pinball machines, this is the place to go. Its even more worthwhile during the nights when you can do the $15 free play which gives you unlimited gaming until they close. To make things even better is the 1820 bar next door so you can drink and play. They also have food trucks out front and parking is free at night. From classic Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Tron, to new games like Star Wars Battle Pods and Mario Kart, there is something for everyone. If you are a pinball fan, how does unlimited play sound? You just have to check it out for yourself.
Old school arcades and new pinball machines. Connected to a cozy bar and food provided by Taco trucks. Great fun for a date Night
This place is fantastic it is crazy some of the old throwback games for good time out on the town in downtown check out joysticks
For an older guy, this was a trip down memory lane. It was a great evening.
We loved it! Went with a group of friends. On the last and first Friday of the month they open it late at night, like 9 or 9:30, for unlimited play for $15. They had tons of pinball, a lot of classic games and a few new ones. They also have a bar that hooks up right next to it thats nice, and has good seating. And a food truck was there that was ah-maz-ing! Great place to go to for a late night. Well be back very soon!
Less kids would be nice at night time so it would have more available games for us adults as we drink and play. Overall loved the concept.
I stopped by on my day off, had a great time there! Eddie was awesome behind the bar. Handled everyones needs and still held multiple convos with a full bar. Good stuff man. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Took my teen son with me and we had a blast playing arcade games from the 80s, pinball machines, and some current video games. A couple of games were not working but overall, we really enjoyed the visit. Already making plans to visit again.
Best place to rent or buy video games & Pinballs. Open to the public on the 1st & Last Friday of every month, from 9pm-2am. $15 entrance fee & all games are on free play!! No quarters needed☺
This is one of my favorite spots in Houston! Ive been here under two different contexts: 1) Pac-Man Fever Fridays, which are on the first and last Fridays of every month. $15 for free play all night, with a bar attached. Very, very fun - especially for a date! It is very popular and gets crowded, so I would arrive when it opens to get the most out of it. You have to try the four player Pac-Man game!2) I chose this location for a corporate event. Total hit. They let us bring in our own catering and were very responsive and nice throughout the entire rental process. It was extremely reasonable price-wise and my coworkers had an absolute blast.
Like this place. Have been going for years .Will likely go again but..We spent $15 per person to get in.The bar tender at the cash bar in the back charged us $13 for drinks, we handed her a $20 and she gave us $3 back.. It seemed she was trying to be shady about it and it gave us a bad vibe so we did not even argue. It was so loud, crowded and dark. Then we bought $36 worth of drinks on the card from the bar next door and for some reason they preauthorized the card for $20 TWICE for 1 tab.. So there is a $40 pre auth charge pending on my account for $36 worth of drinks.. $76 in suspense all together. If youre on a budget, maybe skip drinks all together..Its better to go after 1030 because it seems to be less crowded and more enjoyable then.
Awesome place to play all the games you want for only $15!
I LOVED this place and have been faithfully bringing friends and family here for many years however, the bar staff at 1820 that runs the place when its open to public for game play nights is as absolutely HORRIBLE! My female friend was literally tossed outside in the rain after sustaining a serious ankle injury. The staff proceeded to scream at me to leave for only being there with her. I was a bartender and I know the first thought is she/we were drunk and being disruptive. That was NOT the case. She had done nothing wrong but trip on the stairs and fall. Granted she had had enough to drink and the thats probably why she fell but she had in no way caused a disturbance or bothered anyone. Two men picked her up directly from having tripped and forced her outside in the rain. She was actually seriously injured. They then forced me to leave for no reason. I asked if I could charge me phone to call a cab first and they refused.2 females were stranded outside in the rain (they even yelled at us to no stand under the outside awning for cover) at 1am with no means to call for help. We thankfully had a stranger help and call a cab.Having been a bartender I myself have had to ask a customer to leave under certain circumstances but not for simply falling. If a customer is inebriated you stop serving them alcohol, offer them water, and offer to call a cab to help ensure public safety. This was completely uncalled for. Especially not allowing us a safe means of calling for help. I will never go back and will strongly discourage everyone from going here on game play nights. God forbid you have a medical emergency causing you to fall (i.e. heart complications, allergenic reaction, stroke) because their response will not be to help or even check you but rather throw you like trash.
I have attended the monthly gaming night and loved it! Crowded venue but lots of fun.
Only open to the public twice a week, the rest of the time is private parties only.
I wanted to play the worlds largest Pacman, but this one dude directing told me I have to rent the place in order to get in that lost my joy to play Pacman in there and havent came back since then.
This place is great to drink and play some games. Very relaxing and easy going.
Sorry but dont expect to just turn up and play. Doors locked and opening times? Appointment only. FFS when did you need to make an appointment to play a table? Left forlornly gazing through the plate glass at some lovely machines but sadly dissapointed. Cannot recommend.
Wrong hours posted. Arrived at 4:30pm when hours are set as 10-6pm. Arrived with the lights and games on, a guy comes out saying they open at 9pm.Im an out of town guy looking to kill an hour before heading out. How was I supposed to know they dont open till 9pm before I wasted my time and money getting there and paying for parking?
Always a good time. A unique experience. Pinball lovers unite!
Always a great night at PacMan Fever Friday’s
Pay 15 bux for unlimited arcade (cash only) and there was a ton of games, however, it gets pretty crowded so expect to wait in line for many of the games or find something else. Only open first and last fri of the month. No food inside but there is the same food truck there every time.
Classic games (original Defender!), good bar service, interesting twist.
This is not an arcade has all the supplies and things but is only a vendor. Mislabeled with people walking up to the door every five minutes
They should really let you know it’s not open to the public. That sucks
Video games and alcohol. You cant go wrong
Cant say anything about the bar (I dont drink) but the arcade is a blast! Lots of pinball and classic arcade games with some newer ones in there too!
Great variety of games and people to meet. I had nothing short of a great time!
Was closed. Turns out this is not a place to play games. Glad I didn’t pay the $20 for parking.
An amazing place to play games at. Open Friday at the end of each month.
Fun place if you like arcade games
Amazing place for old school games. Make sure to get there early as it can get pretty packed.
Didnt even get the chance to check it out. Walked towards the door and a white guy comes out and since im hispanic he told me if u dont got money dont even bother coming in with attitude. I walked to my 2011 Silverado n flicked him off. Very racist!
First time going and i loved it big kid at heart
It was confusing i thought we could play old arcade games but no. And the door man wayne was an a hole. Poor customer service. Jukebox was broke and so where some of the games that were available. And the door man wayne was on the only arcade game that worked the entire time we were there is he the doorman or is he the or is he the arcade man.
Love free play and fun
Ayoooooooooooooo !woo figure it out LIL BRUISES.
Amazing interior, game selection, and friendly staff.
Love the free play game nights!
Three point five - rounded up. Not the best games- 30 dollar wrist band and kids running around.
Great place for any pinball wizard.
I am excited about the place, linger, reluctant to leave
Heaven on Earth for retro gamers!
Cool venue with awesome games!
Awesome selection of vintage games.
Go on pac man fever Fridays on the first and last month to play any arcades available for $15.
Pacman fever Fridays 15$ cash only, unlimited arcade classics. First and last Friday of the month only
I havent had the chance to go yet, but you need to know they only have arcade play available on the first and last Friday of the month.
The bartender is very friendly and makes the place just like home
Its cool.
This is NOT an arcade it is a showroom. Repeat, NOT an arcade.
Uh... Cuz games.
Its great
Great game options
Open two days a MONTH.
NOT AN ARCADE.
Its the 80s all over again!
Bunch of dooky
Pinball heaven.
Rude staff
Fun!
