Yall! This place has T H E B E S T egg rolls in the galaxy!!! Not even exaggerating right now. I literally drive over 25 miles just to come eat here! Everything on their menu is absolutely Deliciously made to order. Ive tried a lot of things on their menu and have never been disappointed. I will say, if u cant really handle spicy π₯ food, make sure you order the mild spice level and ask for a side of hot sauce so u can control the heat. If youre looking to try some amazing Thai food, then look no further!
Was craving pad thai and decided to head over to Asian Market Thai Lao food. Iβve been here before and have enjoyed their kee mao a lot, but I decided to try out their pad thai. The pad thai was good, just a bit dry. The mild spicy I ordered didnβt have any spice, so if you donβt like spicy, I reccommend that. Service was very nice, and atmosphere is overall very good. Cheap food too!
A very disappointing experience, especially when this restaurant came well recommended. I teach at a culinary college and have traveled extensively to Asia. An item ordered was not supplied (no big deal- mistakes happen). More importantly, the seasoning was entirely off. The Som Tum was so salty we couldnβt eat it - and all at the table were 50+ (older adults generally require greater quantities of salt to satisfy their taste preferences). Also, all items were ordered with medium spice. I donβt have a delicate palate and I have significant experience with Asian cuisine. The spice was enough to detract from the mealβs enjoyability. I finished dining 2+ hours ago and my lips are still burning. Spice is great- but tonightβs chef definitely needs a refresher course! So sad....I had hoped to love this restaurant.
The salads are excellent and thoroughly different. This is the best food in a long time. Itβs also very affordable. The service is excellent. Itβs a no frills great food and price .
My husband and I go here for lunch at least twice a week. It is consistently the best Thai food in Houston. Veils of flavor of delicious spices .Our favorite dishes are Khao Soy with seafood and Massaman Curry with pineapple. They make subtle changes in the food to match your taste- whatever you want to add or subtract. If you want to bring wine they provide the glass at no extra charge. The staff here is too is extremely kind and accommodating which makes it the perfect dining experience.
Really good service, lowkey but absolute fuego. Had the pad thai and was some of the best Iβve had. Really reasonable prices as wellβ¦
First visit for me and my husband . We came we our best friends! This Restaurant did not disappoint for sure! Excellent food! Very fresh fried whole fish! I was so happy because we were finally able to come here! Its definitely home cooking style of menus here! We also love that a Thai Supermarket is also inside this Restaurant! 5 Star service and 5 Star food!
Weβve only purchased from the grocery. AWESOME prices for all the authentic Thai cooking you wanted to do at home. People are super friendly and helpful.
We absolutely love this place. Some of the best authentic Thai food in houston. Watch out for the spice if you like it mild.
The food selection is AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!!! The staff is very friendly and happy to give culinary suggestions that bring an assortment of fulfilling dishes.IT ALL TASTE GREAT! I highly recommend you stop by whenever you find yourself in The Heights. You will not be disappointed you did.If you enjoy cooking Asian food, this market has a large selection of Asian ingredients that may be difficult to find anywhere else in the city.I may have just found my new favorite place for Asian food!
Easily some of the best Thai food in town. The flavors are complex and full and everything on the menu is fantastic. If youre looking for great Thai inside the loop this is the spot.
This little gem had fantastic food. Their Tiger cry was melt in the mouth, the mama pad noodles were humble yet delicious, the lemongrass chicken nuggets were flavorful, and their desserts were very good too (tried the fried banana and coconut ice cream and the sticky rice and mango). Highly recommend this place.
Amazing food! Just walked in out of the blue today and tried their fried dumplings and they were so so good. My girlfriend and I will definitely be back!
Ordered from here through Uber Eats and it was the best Thai food Ive ever had. I ordered the panang curry, pad Thai and the egg rolls. Everything was very fresh when I got it and all tasted great, but the panang curry was especially good. Would definitely recommend and cant wait to order from here again!
This is our first visit. We picked up and the order was perfect. The food is phenomenal. We had shrimp spring rolls, that are massive. Great peanut sauce. Egg rolls very good. Pad woo sen was enjoyable. The panang is super great. It is very nice you can pick your spice level. We will be back.
Awesome Thai food. The fact that its in a market is a little strange, but the authenticity of the food makes up for everything. My wife is half Thai and she said its the most authentic restaurant shes been to.
My favorite Thai restaurant in town and Im so happy to live very close by. Writing this while eating to-go Panang Curry Chicken with brown rice. On the menu it comes with bamboo and Thai eggplant, but Im not a fan of either so I get it with mixed vegetables instead. At first I was shy and apologized about changing the recipe so much, but they were like no big deal! It is SO dang good! The Thai omelette is also a fave. Really, everything Ive tried has been great. And the prices are more than fair for the flavor and quality of the food!We dine in on occasion, and the service is very friendly and crazy quick. I forget the young mans name who has waited on us the most, but hes really sweet, and his mom is one of the amazing cooks - hes very proud of her. She makes the Thai sausage in-house, and its brilliant!Fair warning: Mild is still pretty spicy, medium is pretty hot, and it only gets hotter from there, so start with mild and work your way up.I love that theres a small grocery inside so I can pick up a few things while Im waiting for my food like coconut milk, curry paste, Thai chilis, and jasmine green tea.Weve eaten here at least 2x a month since moving to the area last August and Im just so glad theyre open and cooking delicious food!
Thank you so much for the Thai Tea sub coconut milk! Super friendly and excellent staff service. Iβd recommend my family and friends to visit and enjoy their cuisines. This place is a dynamic duo of a restaurant and market. Thank you Mr. Alan and the cashier in front for the useful tips on how to make Thai Tea at home! They have products you canβt find easily elsewhere here. I will be back for sure.
Simply delicious food. Get the fried pork as your protein.
Som tom Lao style fantastic. Most authentic and overall best Thai restaurant in Houson area. Period.
Love their food! Went twice in one week.. everything tastes really good!!
If I had to suggest a Thai/Lao restaurant this would be the place. Most authentic in flavor that your going to get. A must try and the locals love it. Any Asian place where you see Asians dinning, that will tell you if its authentic or not. Support the local business or we will all be eating franchise food such as Panda Express.
We love their Kee Mao Noodle, have a hard time ordering anything else we like it so much.
Very helpful and friendly staff, helped me find my miso paste
I ended up here under very strange Circumstances π - and ive never had Thai food specifically. i got the chance to try the Pad Thai... oh. My. LORD. This is one of the best things to bless my taste buds!!Note, i dont like spicy food, at all. BUT the mix of Sweet, Savory with that hint of spice was AMAZING and i couldnt put it down. The crushed peanuts and a few drops of lime *Chefs kiss* gave it a whole new flavor. The chicken was juicy, and the atmosphere is great! I will DEFINANTLY be back here again to try some new dishes and with how close it is to my Job as well, ill be recommending this place to my co-workers for sure!! Thank you Alan and Staff i appreciate you guys so much! βΊοΈ
Passing through the Height area and was craving Thai food and I was very close to this place and seen the other reviews. I went with the red curry chicken and it was AMAZING! Ive recently gotten into Thai curry and enjoy it moreso than Indian curry due to the sweetness the coconut milk adds. This is the best ive had so far! Very delicious! I regret not ordering any Pad Thai to take home but will next time. You guys need to try this place out!!
Excellent, and slightly different than most other Thai places because of the Laos influence. Try the Laos chicken larb and the oh lam (Laos beef stew/soup). The Penang curry is delicious as well. Quick and efficient service, and you can also shop at the market while you visit!
One of the best places to get Thai food in Houston. It has limited parking and the restaurant is literally a hole in the wall. However, the food was delicious. This place has the best crab papaya salad Ive had outside of Thailand. The Tom yum soup and red curry was so authentic. If you cant handle spicy food, make sure to ask for number 1. We asked for mild on the Pad Kee Mao and it was super spicy, but we like spicy food so be cautious. It is located inside a grocery store and you actually pay at the grocery check out. We enjoyed our visit.
Everything I ordered was outstanding. Great employees too!
If you like Thai food, this is the place to go in Houston. The servers / owners are extremely nice. Multiple levels of spiciness for those that dont like the standard Thai spice levels. Everything weve had food wise has been delicious. I tried the 1000 pepper spice level which is one step above Thai Spicy and it was pretty decent. If you like your Thai food really spicy, I recommend giving it a try.
Great food and prices. Some staff dont wear masks
Favorite restaurant of all time! Great hospitalityβ€οΈ They messed up on my order but was so prompt to fix it! Love Matt he is the best! Great and positive convos everytime π
The new location is great! Food served here is reminiscent of what youll typically get at streetside vendors in Thailand. So yum! π The Panang Curry includes a generous portion of veggies integrated into the mix. Most dishes also a vegetable medley that isnt usually included at other Thai restaurants. 95% of dishes have been excellent. My only complaints are that I consider their dishes with noodles to be slightly overcooked, and theyre usually a little stuck together. Doesnt affect the flavor though.
Great Kee Mao Noodle (drunken) ! #2 heat for me!
Very good Thai food. Spicy, in a good way. It might be the best in Houston.
Simply the best Thai food in the area! My go to for fresh coconut milk, pad see ew, Tom kha, and dumplings! I have celebrated countless birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions here, and the food and service never fail to delight. Tastebuds happy :)!
Dont waste your time. seems to us they are more interested in closing, then serving customers. The attitude most change and be more on the customer service....
I love this place! Iβve been eating with them since they were over on Calvacade. They have vegetarian and Vegan option which is a plus in my book! I usually go for the curries! It doesnβt really matter which one you get as they are all really good! Donβt be a hero on the spice level! Thai spice gets extremely hot! I usually do mild then spice it up myself if I need it spicier. Substitute for tofu and veggies to make it vegan. Grab a fresh coconut to sip on, they will even break it open for u if you want to eat the meat inside. I definitely recommend this place!
SCAMMERS β My husband and I ate here last Saturday night, and although the food is delicious, Iβm pretty sure theyβre scamming their guests. While we ate, two men came in and complained that their DoorDash order was wrong. It was a $120 order, and they wouldnβt reimburse them for it or make new food, claiming that DoorDash would handle it. We could hear everything because of how near we were sitting to the cashier. After we left the restaurant and looked at our emailed receipt, we realized that they had charged us for a completely wrong order. Rather than spring rolls, there was an order of crispy rolls for a dollar more plus an extra entree. While we checked out, the cashier distracted me with a bag for the takeout food and he took my husbandβs card so we never saw a screen to double check our order. He didnβt even verify what we had. I donβt believe this was all accidental, but an actual scam. There are plenty of delicious restaurants, so we wonβt be returning here.
Great food. Small sit down area.
Love the spicy fried rice π the sticky rice with mango is so good too! The girl with the pink hair is so sweet π
Some of the best Thai food I have ever eaten and really great prices! Highly recommend!
Great food at an affordable price.
This is easily one of the best Thai food places in all of Houston! I would recommend it to anyone, whether you love Thai food or are trying it for the first time this is your place. Everything on the menu is amazing, from the rice dishes and curry to the noodles, the appetizers all of it is so flavorful and good. The dishes taste authentic and quality, portion sizes are great. We always order to go, and itβs always been quick and easy. Calling in an order is easy and the employees are so friendly and helpful about any questions on the menu. Itβs easy to customize the level of heat in your dish, which is nice for weaklings like me. You also can easily change up the type of protein you want in your dish. I personally love the curry and noodle dishes the most. There are so many delicious options and you will keep wanting to come back!
Great hole in the wall place for thai food & market. I expect to become a regular
Very friendly and helpful you can find a lot of asian ingredients and very clean I bought some bean sprouts from the kitchen pretty fresh will return
Do you like Isaan/Lao food? If yes, then this is the spot for you. Dont know what Im talking about? If you love Thai food, but also want the option of dishes with bolder flavors, then this place is for you too! (Dont worry, your favorite Thai dishes are here too) Food is as authentic as it can possibly be (my credentials include traveling to Thailand several times for weeks at a time and living in a mostly Isaan community for 3 years). Laab with sticky rice is a must and if you enjoy sour things, give the krok isaan (Isaan sausage) a try! Also, if you want to take a stab at cooking any of this yourself, half of the place is a grocery store! They even have the Thai/Lao kitchen supplies like mortars, pestles, pots, steamers.
Omg just Uber eats here and their chicken lap reminds me just of my moms . I am Cambodian and I moved out of California to Houston and itβs hard to find a good Asian food joint . This place right here β¦ chef kiss * will be ordering from here from now on. (They added an extra sticky rice to my order) thank you guys !!!
This place is great. You can get great ingredients and the food is amazing. Our favorite was the panang curry.
Green curry is yummy. Nice service
This place is everything. Iβve had all the curries and all of them are incredible. My fave is the yellow but red is a very close second. I usually get mine with tofu and they do a great job cooking the tofu so youβre not just tasting oil like a lot of other places. Big fan of the mango sticky rice as well. The staff is always kind. Super lucky to have this place near to my house.... weβre here every week. Itβs that good.
Really good Laab and Kee Mao Noodles. Great flavor! Cooked Perfectly! Large portions! The first Thai Spot Ive found in the Houston Metro area that I actually like!! Definitely will be ordering again.
Great thai food very spicy!
This place makes incredibly delicious, authentic, and consistent Thai food. Ive never ordered anything I didnt like from here. They also get major points for easy online ordering and friendly service. This is going to be my go to place for Thai food for a long time
Shrimp Pad Thai is amazing. Great flavor and spice. Staff is friendly too! Will definitely be back!
If I could swim in the green curry I would! There isnt a thing on this menu that isnt great. Such a wonderful gem!
Pad kra pao (thai hot) is delicious !Green curry (thai hot) is also delicious, but go for hot !
Best Pad see ew Ive had in a long time!!
So I moved to Houston 3 months ago from Michigan where thereβs tons of Laotian restaurants and this was my first time eating real Lao food. Let me tell you this place hit the damn spot for me. It fixed my Lao food cravings I been having for soooo long. If you want authentic Lao food such as their βcured pork sausagesβ or their βlarbβ or βlaabβ this is the place to eat at. The food was delicious and super spicy which finally, a restaurant made me blow my nose after eating βspicyβ food. Every generic restaurant I go to and I ask for them to make it super spicy and it comes to me βehβ spicy. But Asia Market Thai Lao food does come spicy. Which I love. Itβs a bit of a drive for me but most definitely worth the drive, not just for their food but their customer service is superb also. ππΌ
Great store for shopping thai vegetables and groceries. They help you find what you want. We have tried take out food once and it was good. Dont forget to try their sugarcane juice!!
Absolutely fantastic Thai Lao food and an authentic grocery for your thai needs. A personal favorite!
I got pork laab gai to go and some groceries; the staff was very friendly and helpful! They even carried my groceries to the car! The food was delicious, and I like that they sell local bakeries lao/thai food too (I got some rice cakes and beef jerky from the local food area). I hope they do well and can expand--the grocery is small but has a lot of essentials for lao and thai cooking. There was a lot of parking and Im excited to go back here again. :)
Based on the reviews we were expecting the food to be great but the experience was less than stellar. I placed the order to go. When I arrived I walked around to see what they had in the store. Freshly made Thai desserts, packaged and canned goods similarly found in any Asian market (e.g. H-Mart, 99 Ranch). They also have some tables for those who wish to dine in.I took a few items (limes, drinks and one dessert) and went to the counter and saw my food order on the counter. It had my name misspelled so I told the young man behind the counter that it was my order. He asked if I paid and I told him I did. He didnβt ask to see the email confirmation, my id nor credit card so in reality, I could have not been the person who placed and paid for the order and just have taken it. They really should do a better job of ensuring the right order goes to the right person especially since they seem unorganized and inattentive.FOOD:The Pad Kew Mao with chicken was extremely disappointing. It had zero flavor (none) and the chicken was dried out and rubbery. I think they forgot to add any sauce or seasoning. I give this one star out of five which is a shame since this is usually one of my favorite Thai dishes. The fried rice with tofu was fine. Nothing special but not bad, just average. Mostly rice with a small amount of diced carrots, peas, egg and onions. The tofu was diced. Three and a half stars out of five. The salad was not at all what I was expecting. The crab it came with was actually tiny pieces of shell and claw (see my photos). I surmised the crab is there for flavor not to eat. Donβt do what I did if youβre expecting crab meat. The rest of the salad was a bit spicy though I requested mild. It consisted of sliced cherry tomatoes, julienned cucumbers, sliced cabbage, peanuts and a very spicy dressing that was all liquid. Strangely enough it wasnβt bad. Despite the tiny pieces of crab shell, I would actually give it four stars. The dressing was like a fish sauce because of the crab and the slightly sweet and spicy flavor.I also bought a dessert from their refrigerated section. Probably not to most Americansβ taste especially as a dessert but I liked the creativity of the shapes and colors where they were made to look like vegetables. Itβs made from mung beans and sugar.Overall I wouldnβt order from Asia Market Thai Lao Food again because it didnβt stand up to the positive reviews online and the Pad Kee Mao was so subpar, but found the store and homemade desserts to be interesting.
Great Thai food! We enjoyed our meal
Food made me sick, I asked specifically to not put certain seafoods in my food and they put everything in there. I was allergic.
This place has become my go to for Thai/Lao food in the Houston area The food never really taste the same as there are many different chefs in the kitchen and they make everything from scratch yes donβt give me wrong sometimes that can go wrong but overall itβs always good also the services second to none the best in Houston love how everybody takes care of you not just one waiter/waitress.
Ordered the Pad Cashew with beef. Itβs supposed to come with beech mushrooms, no matter the protein requested. There was not one single mushroom. I ordered the beef. They made it with pork. Thank goodness I consume pork. Iβll probably just keep ordering from Asia Market on Fulton(different company/owners). Iβm fairly disappointed.
Unbelievable portions and amazing spice levels. They used cabbage as noodles in the Pad Thai (in addition to noodles) to help cut carbs!! I didnβt realize until I was half way through the plate. The green curry is generous in portion and vegetables, just like the red curry. Huge fan of the Thom Kah as well. For quality and quantity, this is the best Thai place Iβve ever had in town
This place beats the other two in the area. The food and service are always great!!! Love the pineapple fried rice, pad thai and tom kha soup!!! The thai iced tea is great too.
Yoooooo....... Do not sleep on this place! Ive been coming here for over a year and I should have done this review after the first time I came here.So Ive had 3 entrees from here. Ive had the red curry, green curry, and pad thai. All very good. The red curry is a bit spicier and the green curry is more fragrant. I change it up every time I go but I think the green curry is better for me personally. The first time I went i had the pad thai with the 4th level of hotness and maybe Im not as Mexican as I thought but that had a hard kick to it. Now i just stick to the third level, which is called hot. 4th level is thai hot and 5th level is volcanic hot. Im not brave enough to try the 5th level.I definitely recommend this place for your thai craving. Its a nice little store with a dining area up front. You will not be disappointed.
The staff is very friendly! Food comes out really fast itβs so delicious!!!! βΊοΈ Will be coming back!!
First time here love the papaya salad so good, the customer service was great. I work close by will be picking up for lunch
Great authentic Thai food. My favorite Thai restaurant in Houston. Their spice levels are actually very spicy, I can barely even eat their medium spice and always opt for mild. I love their noodle dishes but the curries are really good as well. They are also a little grocery store with a decent selection!
I loved the food. You need to go there.
Great service by the owner. Great food, great prices!
Wonderful family owned restaurant where the food is made as though you were sharing a meal with the family! Spice levels are great if you like things spicy. Very flavorful and well prepared! Make sure you try it!
Amazing thai food! Fair price and enough food importantly! Im quite critical of asian food but this comes close to my moms food! What a gem of a place.Friendly servers. Decent selection of asian goods for grocery shopping. Will be back!
I had a craving for Thai food and this spot nailed it! I ordered several dishes including the Panang Curry, Tom Kha soup, Pad Si Ew, Spring rolls, and Pad Thai. All were excellent and I will be coming back for more. The service was fast and friendly and I order for take out. Overall excellent experience, highly recommend.
Best Thai food I have found in Houston. Great red curry and Tom Kha Gai soup.
