My 2006 5.9 had bad blow by. Ordered the long block and had it installed. Zero issues with the long block rotating assembly. Drove the truck from Michigan to Idaho for elk season runs great.

I have a 2008 Ford F-250 6.4. Motor went out on me with no compression on cylinder #3. Found MTZ had the best price on a rebuilt 6.4. Turn around took a little longer than I would have liked, but understandable due to parts availability. New motor is installed and running great! Chago and his team was good to work with and always returned my text with a call. He is a busy man, so be patient, it may take a couple days. If I ever need another engine I will be reaching back out to him.

When I lost my 6.0 Powerstroke engine, I was quite shocked at the price I was quoted from local dealers for a rebuilt engine. I am on a limited income and had to look elsewhere to get my truck running again. I found MTZ online and immediately noticed the fair price they were offering. These guys built me a 5.9 Cummins. It took a bit longer than quoted because of COVID lack of parts availability. They were close to $2500 less than the nearest quote. Definitely recommend them especially if your budget is tight.

CONSUMER BEWARE! I did research and went based off Google reviews, Facebook Advertising, and rebuiltengineshouston.net. After reviewing I felt confident that MTZ could handle our motor. We dropped off our engine August 3 2021. We received a text from Carisia saying she needed a picture of a check to begin repairs. That was not a problem, we provided a text with the check made out to MTZ Engine in the amount of $1,000. The check was cashed same day. A couple of weeks passed, and I would call for an update, but I was told the owner Chago is the only person that provides information. Which eventually became an issue because he was rarely available (mind you not one call from Chago since the motor was dropped off). MTZ stopped answering our calls. We finally decide to drive to the shop to see if we could receive an update in person. This was an unpleasant and tasteless interaction. The business owner Chago is extremely unprofessional to say the least. I’ll elaborate a little more on that in a minute. Chago did commit to having our engine completed by 09/04/2021. We arrived Saturday 09/04/21 and we were told Chago would only accept cash. So, we drove to an ATM and pulled out cash in the amount $600. Keep in mind that this is an addition to the $2,200. in parts that we provided with the engine. Plus, the $1,000. paid via check. To give y’all an example of the unprofessional manner of this business. We returned with the $600.00, Tom pulls a gun from his drawer and sets it on the desk. For a business that has been highly rated by the BBB (This is stated on their website) this is extremely unethical. Another example, the owner Chago said he did not need our business! He is doing extremely well. He also added a side note that MTZ does not work on gasoline engines. His employees do this as a side hustle after business hours. Please note that MTZ advertises that they specialize on gasoline engines (look for yourself and you’ll see that they advertise that they do work on gas engines). Chago also mentioned that He has several houses all over the US and proceeded to show us his display of pictures on the wall to show us how many concerts he’s been too?? Silly, right? I don’t know either why this is something that he felt the need to tell but ok. I just want to the ETA on the engine. We finally get the engine back and we install and as fast as we could pour the coolant in that’s how fast it was coming out of the head. After we inspected, we noticed the head gasket was installed upside down. We reached out via phone several times to several different numbers, and no one answered. We finally got a hold of Rafael, but we received the same message as before “Chago is the only one that can provide information”. After no response from Chago we sent a text and a video, and we received another unpleasant interaction with Chago. He was aggressive and was not willing to help the situation. He said his shop does not provide labor warranty and that it is our responsibility to remove the engine and take it to his shop so his guys could correct the error they made. We had to uninstall the engine and resend it back out to MTZ. MTZ flipped the same gasket and returned the engine back to us PLEASE NOTE that the engine was returned with minor damages. We received a damaged oil pan and damaged oil filter. We sent before and after pictures to Chago but as usual no response. We replaced the damaged oil pan and filter at our cost and Reinstall the engine for the 2nd time at our cost as well and the engine turns over, but it will not fire. After some diagnostics we found that there is no compression in any cylinder. We removed the intake, and we can see that none of the intake valves are closing. I am left with the only option of sending this engine to another machine shop to properly inspect and confirm the work done. We do not trust that MTZ motors built the bottom end correctly or the piston assembly. The cost and time that we have lost is ridiculous we will not be able to gain that back.

I have a 2007 Ford F-250 6.0 tuned Harley Davison edition. When I bought it. It was an awesome hot rod diesel truck. Till it a lifter rolled. MTZ was the best price an turn around time for new engine was really quick. After new motor was installed. By far a much better engine then the last. Great job to Chago and his team. The engine I purchased from Chago does work...however he charged me $1650 for a core deposit that was never refunded. Check is in the mail. Its been over a year. My only option at this point is to sue for the deposit, attorney fees, and cost of recovery. Im posting this to help the next person. What they say is not what they do. Chagos word is worthless and had no value. All I get from him is excuses and empty promise. If anyone does do work with MTZ, DO NOT GIVE A DEPOSIT ON YOUR CORE. Its been a long road to this point. They were very helpful and very fast I was extremely pleased with how painless and quick getting my new motor was. And I’ve had my motor for about 4 years now and haven’t had any problems.

I found MTZ Engine Rebuilders online and they had the long block I needed for my F-350 with a seized engine. It was the best price I found online and Alex went over everything about the engine. I bought the engine and then found out that I was not going to be able to use it because of other issues with the truck. I asked for a refund and they were very cooperative in taking care of that for me. That is important to know that they are honest.

Save your money and buy from somebody else. Worst experience we have ever had with a rebuilder. First engine shelled a rod through the block, oh, by the way not covered under warranty. Paid to have core rebuilt and found .020 over pistons in a .040 over bore. Engine ran but had loud piston slap. Had to pay to have machine shop fix it right in San Antonio. The only thing this guy knows how to do is put his own reviews up on his web site.

First of the engine I received was a joke. The heads were cracked and poured coolant on the ground without pressure. As of now these people have stolen my money and have their re-built engine back. I also am out over 5 grand.

These guys rebuilt a 4.7 V8 for me out of a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2.5 years ago. Ive put about 20,000 miles on it so far, its not my daily driver. This is a modded up off-road jeep, I mostly drive it down the coast and on the beaches, and it still runs great after the miles and years have gone by. During the rebuild they recommended I buy new aluminum heads, so I did and as I stated, the motor is still very tight, great compression. Only thing I have done to it since completion is I just had to change out a fuel pump about a week ago. Highly recommended!

If you really work hard for your money, don’t go there. I would not recommend them, y’all should go somewhere else.

My husband bought a 6.4 from this machine shop about a month ago and so far the engine is running great. Chago the owner was very professional and so were his employees. My husband is very happy with there work.

Been working with these guys since the end of August 2019. He is how we met.We started home back to LA, after spending the 4th of July in Alabama. On the way home, we threw a rod. We limped the truck back to our property in Alabama and picked up a rental. Once back in LA, my dad and me looked all over for a replacement engine. 6.6L Duramax for a Chevy 2500. We talked with at 15 folks about getting an engine. Some were pulled out of their trucks after being in accidents or other strange things. A few of the remanufactured shops we contacted, had prices through the roof. Some of the prices for a used engine were down right scary. I told my dad, why pay for a used engine, that we have no idea of the history on. So we looked more at getting a remanufactured engine. A lot of the places had scary prices, that would make you not want to deal with them. Just by luck, I found MTZ on Craigslist. My dad liked the price, so we ordered a remanufactured engine and asked for it to be sent to Alabama. The engine arrived on time. We brought one of our friends from LA to help with the install, but he ran out of time before he could finish. Dad and me tried to figure out how to finish hooking up the motor, but at some point it was above my echelon of repair skills. We decided to send it to the local dealership, figured they would be able to get it completed. The guy from the dealership got the truck hooked back up and started, but ran into some coolant leaking issues. He believed that it was a blown head gasket and could fix it, if I gave him my first born, left kidney and right testicle. Toooo much money for the job, so I took it to another shop to have them run a diagnosis and trouble shoot the issue. The new mechanic said the same thing, blown head gasket. Its been months and now to hear this is heartbreaking. Dad calls MTZ upset and ready to do legal work against them, they say bring us the motor. The motor had zero road miles on it, just start and running for a few minutes in the different shops. After the motor is pulled and loaded up, I head back to Houston to have it checked to see what happened and if it was damaged, or pick up a replacement. As soon as I get to the shop, they off load the motor and in front of me, remove both heads. Well come to find out, the head gaskets were still good. Come to find out, on the back of the motor, the back plates did not make a complete seal. Since it did not seal, water was leaking it the exhaust and the oil(wish I would have known that, before driving all the way back down to Houston). I gotta say, these guys went out of their way to work on a problem, they did not create. Speaking with the owner, he expressed how in this business. They can make mistakes and will honor anything they did wrong and try to fix it. But in my case, even though they didnt have to be cool about a problem they didnt create, they were down to troubleshoot and ensure, the product Id be taking back to Alabama was good to go. I will be heading back to Alabama in the next few minutes, with a motor that was disassembled cleaned and reassembled with another new head gasket installed. Im giving five Stars for the customer service part right now. But my truck should be running in the next week, and I will do an update. But from the warm and fuzzy feeling Im getting from watching these guys work, I believe it will be just as good next week.

Just purchased a long block for my 2005 cummins. Slight mishap with the difference in blocks in the beginning of purchase. Chago took care of it very quickly. Engine has been installed and runs very, very strong. Chago seems to be a solid person to work with and I will recommend for sure.

Ive been doing business with MTZ Engine Rebuilders since 2013 now. The first engine I purchased was a long block 6.4 diesel in 2013. That engine is still running great and has given me no problems and Ive put over 300,000 miles on it. Since then Ive purchased a 6.6 Duramax and a 5.9 Cummings for my Hotshot company trucks. So far theyre just as good as the first one. They have great customer service and always work with me, he is a family oriented owner. One of the best things about MTZ is youre dealing face to face with the owner, Chago. Im in the businesss where reliable engines are needed, that is why when Im asked for a good engine rebuild shop I always recommend MTZ.

Chago and the gang at MTZ shipped a 5.9l long block Cummings to a third party for installation after it blew on me on the way to work in Freeport TX. Never had trouble reaching him day or night right after hurricane Harvey. Engine quality....EXCELLENT. Runs better than the original when it was new. Hey Chago, maybe the folks at Dodge need to give you a call for some pointers? Have told everybody I know about Chago and MTZ. Price is excellent, quality unmatched, and I am looking forward to taking the engine core back just to meet this guy face to face. GOOD JOB GUYS, DONT CHANGE A THING.
