This is the first review I have ever written.There is a true jewel in Houston and her name is Arlene.My daughter had purchased her wedding gown at a well known boutique in Austin. After the store tried 3 times and failed to make the dress fit properly, my daughter was in tears and said that she hated the dress she would be wearing to her weddingWe took the dress to Arlene.She immediately saw what needed to be done- something 3 master seamstresses couldn’t figure out at the boutiqueShe took the dress down to its seams and put it back perfectlyIt fit magnificently and my daughter looked gorgeousThanks Arlene, you truly are the best

Arlene truly saved my wedding dress! After having a terrible experience at the bridal store that I purchased the dress from in Austin, my mom recommended that i drive to Houston to see if the amazing seamstress that cleaned her own wedding veil and added sleeves to her gown could fix it. Arlene was able to tell what was wrong with my dress just from a few pictures, and when I arrived in Houston she already had a plan! She essentially took the dress apart and rebuilt it in a matter of days since my wedding was only a week away. She also made the most beautiful straps, and provided me with handmade shape-wear to ensure the dress fit perfectly! She also built me a brand new veil and matching combs to choose from to bring the whole look together. To say Arlene saved the day is an understatement! She truly can do it all and is so kind, warm and caring while being a master seamstress! My family and I can not recommend her enough!

It is hard to even know where to start bragging on Beautiful U Bridal and their alterations team for the work they did on my wedding dress...they are AMAZING!! I bought a strapless gown and wanted to have sleeves added, so we found the same Chantilly lace and Arlene went to work! It wasnt until the sleeves were almost finalized that I realized the lace didnt have enough give to allow me to REALLY dance at my wedding reception, so Arlene suggested making the sleeves detachable for after the ceremony...so they did! The result was better than I could have imagined, and I would HIGHLY recommend them since they never once got frustrated with me (or at least not in front of me...ha!) and were committed to ensuring I was 100% satisfied. Solid craftsmen/women for sure!!

Im giving them 4 stars because theyre *super* nice and the physical work (stitching, etc.) is very high quality. I brought a bridesmaids dress here for my first experience as a new Houston resident and they were really kind and timely, and the dress *looked* perfect, craftsmanship-wise. You just need to be EXPLICITLY clear while the man tugging and pulling and pinning you holds your garment taut if its too tight or something feels off. Unless I was standing stock-still, the chiffon overlay of the top of the dress sat really weird throughout the day. I wouldnt have really known what to look for in that way during alterations. Picture attached.If my second time, were its own visit, I would give fewer stars. I took a wedding guest dress, a silk pleated skirt, and a pair of silk blend elastic/bag tie waist pants to be taken in. The skirt needed to be repaired from a previous botched alteration and they did an excellent job visually and symmetrically. I do blame myself for picking them up, paying, and leaving without trying them all on in that moment, but the garments were much simpler than the first dress and I thought it would be fine. The pants were fine because it was just an elastic band that had to be made an inch or so smaller. The skirt and dress, however, are both too tight. And the seam allowance inside has been cut to next to nothing so I cant really get them let back out. Im bummed because I really love both pieces, but neither one is really wearable or fixable. :(

The ladies here are absolutely amazing! I had my veil made here. My dress was so complicated and full of detail and they did such a wonderful job.

Ms Arlene and staff are wonderful!! We showed up with a dress that was the brides mothers dress. We had numerous fittings with Ms Arlene trying to decide how we wanted to make the dress more current. Super happy with the outcome and will highly recommend Beautiful U Bridal Veil!! We had a destination wedding in Cancun and Ms Arlene packed this massive dress for the flight..... thank you mam!!

Arlene and Jose are great. Jose made the perfect alteration changes I needed.It took 4 visits to get it just right...and I don’t think the alter specialist “Le” knows how to work with large busted women, but Jose got involved in my last appointment and I’m so glad he did because he made it perfect! So, if you are a curvy girl, request Jose! He is amazing!

I brought my wedding dress here a few weeks ago to get altered. My first instinct as I walked in was to turn around and walk out, but Ive heard such great things about this place I stayed. I was there for about an hour for my initial fitting. Fast forward to 2 weeks later to my second fitting....my dress didnt fit. The little Asian lady that was in charge of altering my dress said she let it out but in fact she took it in..by more than 3 inches on each side and tried to pass it off as me gaining weight and told me to come back in two weeks and if I wasnt smaller they would have to put a corset in the back of the dress and my response was...If I wanted a corseted dress I would have bought one!! So after I left my second fitting in tears and freaking out because Im 3 weeks away from my wedding date, I went home slept on it and showed up last Friday 6/14/19 unannounced to pick up my dress. I kept telling the owner that I did not gain weight and they kept arguing with me. My wonderful coordinator got me in touch with another seamtress and I went to her the same day. All I can say is she is AMAZING. I will be writing a review on her as well. Thank God my dress can be fixed and will look great on my wedding day. I feel bad for Arline, her workers are going to destroy her reputation. I really wish I could have written a better review about this place.

Lee did and awesome job with my dress 👏It fits perfectly! She was very attentive on everything. Only reason I’m leaving 3 stars is because I felt like it was OVERPRICED.... I know a good job charges accordingly! But I just felt like the price was way over board. My dress costed me exactly $1,000 and she charged me $500 to fit it to my measurements which is HALF of what my dress costed. I’m not around the area so I had no idea where to even start to look for a tailor and she was recommended by a stranger so I gave her a call and asked her an estimate of the cost. . She said she needed to see it and once I was there she just took measurements and gave me a receipt with the price without a question if the price was okay, so I just went ahead and did it. I am very happy with her work, and felt like my dress was in good hands. I will recommend her if you don’t care about the cost.. otherwise I would do more research and go to more estimates before compromising.

There are not enough words style how grateful and thankful I am for Arlene. She was so amazing. They have wonderful customer service they got everything done in a timely manner. I had two to three days for my wedding and they got the job executed. I absolutely love, love, love this place and would recommend it, highly recommend anybody and everybody to this place. Beautiful U bridal veil is absolutely hands down the number one shop in Houston. Thank you so much to Arlene and beautiful U bridal veil. I absolutely love you guys and wish you all the success. My dress was so beautifully amazing and they fixed it just right for me. So just give them a call and see what they can do for you you will definitely not be disappointed..

I don’t ever write reviews but I had an unforgettable experience at this place. I must start by saying I was nervous to leave my wedding dress here as the place looks a bit run down, but the seamstresses were so kind and knowledgeable, I was made to feel at ease. The dress turned out beautifully and I wish I could give 5 stars to the tailor but the front desk lady ruined any chance of that. She was beyond nasty every time I went in. I went to pick up my dress at my final fitting and I will say my dress has always been a struggle to zip and took great effort every time. I had lost additional weight to try to help with this. As I was trying it on for the final time and we were zipping, the front desk woman said “have you gained weight?”. Mind you, I am 5’10 and a size 2... after finishing, the seamstress offered me a piece of candy and the same front desk woman remarked that I shouldn’t eat that or then my dress definitely wouldn’t zip. I was appalled at how someone working in women’s alterations, in the bridal industry, could think that was acceptable behavior. So disappointing

The location is near Hwy 59 (69) between Edloe & Buffalo Speedway on Alabama. Pat and Arlene are professionals who are service oriented and add value to the experience by educating customers fabrics and how they fit on your body. They offered information on foundations that provide a smoother look with the fabric my outfits were made of. Thanks he work was exceptional and the price was affordable. Shout out to Jose who transformed my outfits with his sewing expertise

I would highly recommend Beautiful U for all your alteration needs. I only recently moved to the Houston area, so I was a little apprehensive about finding a place to get my wedding dress altered. I am so glad I trusted Beautiful U, they did an amazing job and my dress was stunning on the big day.

Amazing customer service and very affordable! The ladies there did an incredible job on my wedding gown and made me feel so comfortable on my wedding day. They were great to work with and were extremely timely. I would HIGHLY recommend this place for any of your alteration needs!

Brought my dress in scarcely a week before my wedding; they were able to hem it and make a bustle in less than 4 days. I went in to try it on and check the hem and for no additional charge, they added a weight to the front to keep the underskirt down and smooth, but also pressed it! They are so very helpful and friendly! I cant say how much I appreciated it!

Where do I start? My bridesmaid dress fit horribly. I had taken somewhere before coming to Beautiful U who made the dress look even worst. I was so stressed that I was in tears before I came to these ladies and they literally performed a miracle. They added fabric to my dress and it now fits me like a glove. My tears of sadness became tears of joy. Their assistant Juan is phenomenal. This business is fast, professional,highly skilled and reasonably priced. Do not go anywhere else for your alteration needs. Just be courteous and make an appointment. I love this place.

AMAZING!! That is all I have to say about the wonderful women who work at Beautiful U. I had 3 fittings with them for my wedding gown and it fit PERFECTLY on the big day. They listened to any concerns I had during the fittings and made sure I was comfortable and happy in the dress. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for brides!!

These ladies are awesome!!!! Everyone you meet there is extremely nice, especially the lady at the desk!!! I brought in a halter top wedding gown with a lace bodice. The dress was a size 20. I wanted it altered to fit (size 16), reconfigure the bodice to a sweetheart neckline and add a French bustle. And, I needed this done in two weeks. I had one fitting the week after I brought in my dress and a final fitting when I picked up my dress. They did A LOT to get my dress to where I wanted it for only $500. My friend paid $300 just for a hem and to add a wedding belt to her dress and the belt wasnt even placed right at Alfred Angelo. If you need alterations, these ladies are awesome. I would give them 100 stars if I could.

Amazing work. Had my wedding dress altered by Louisa and it was simply stunning. Days before the wedding after a holiday weekend they were able to squeeze me in for a final fitting (lost unanticipated lbs in a two week period) and they came to the rescue for a perfect fit!!!!

The women in this shop are so incredibly talented! I was originally referred to them by the bridal shop where I bought my dress, Brickhouse Bridal, and I am SO glad that I was. I had extremely intricate beadwork, lace, and fabric on my dress and they did all of the hemming, seamwork, etc. and it honestly looked like they hadnt touched it at all. 5 star work for a very reasonable price. Cannot recommend them enough. Thank you ladies!

I was in a bind and these wonderful people saved me. The alterations were sublime, quick and reasonably priced. I cannot say enough good things about this shop and their wonderful tailor who works magic!

Top of the line. I have so much to say about this place but will have to curb my enthusiasm to a few simple words...The girls who work here are inviting, professional, and caring! After my first wedding dress blunder, they took me in last minute and really fit my dress perfectly to my shape. I really wasnt sure until last minute whether my veil would look well with the dress, and when I brought it home and tried it all on, the two were completely off. They just didnt look right together.In a frenzy, my mom began searching around for a new veil and incidentally called Beautiful U to see if they could recommend a place. They did more than recommend... they made me a new veil for free!!! Im sure it was because they felt bad for me. But who does that anymore?!?!? They made my day and my wedding!Thank you!!! You guys are amazing!!!

I had been looking for a reasonably priced flower hair piece all over town for my upcoming wedding. On my search I came across Beautiful U. From the first moment I walked into this place I felt the very friendly and cozy environment. The manager was very welcoming and helpful. I asked her for the flower hair piece and I actually showed her a picture of what I was looking for. She told me that she can make something similar and if I dont like it I will not have to buy it. I thought thats very nice of her so I let her make it.Two days later when I went to pick it up I arrived there around 8 pm because I thought they are open until 8, but the manager was by her car leaving. When she saw me she actually re-opened the shop, brought the flower piece she had made for me and let me try it on. She took her time, was extremely friendly and sweet and did not even show any signs that she is annoyed that I am taking her time on her off time!I was not 100% satisfied by the looks of the piece so I had her fix it, still was not sure if I like it, had her redo it and finally was satisfied. So when it came to paying for it she told me that since I am not 100% satisfied just pay the half of the amount I was supposed to pay! Neither of us had any change, so she told me to just have it and pay later! I was so affected by her extremely nice attitude and felt so bad, told her that I am busy and may not be able to come back but she said it is fine and I can have it. I had only few dollars in my purse so gave her that and thanked her and left.I could not believe how nice this lady was. She had spent a lot of time making this flower piece and was so nice to stay 30 minutes over the store closed time and fix it for me. I am VERY impressed by her extremely beautiful attitude, sweetness, and care and cant appreciate her enough. People like her give you hope that this world sometimes can be a beautiful place!

I got my alterations done at the bridal store that I bought my dress from and $600 and many tears later I was two weeks before my wedding and no closer to a dress that looked good on me. I took it to Arlene and one look and they saw what the problem was and fixed it! My dress now fits me like a glove and I can cry tears of happiness now instead of sadness and frustration. For the first time I am happy to put on my dress and now I am ready to marry the man of my dreams this Saturday!!! Thank YOU!
