This was probably the best restaurant experience weve had since the pandemic. As soon as you walk in, you are asked to sanitize, your temperature is taken before youre seated where you are greeted by an amazing waiter. Ours was David! He has gloves, explains the app to you and doesnt touch your plates or silverware. Regardless of all that, they continue to serve with such enthusiasm and your service is not lost just because youre ordering through an app.Coffee ($3.15): the best restaurant coffee weve had, definitely brewed fresh.Chicken Fried Steak ($18.95): unlike any other chicken fried steak youve had as it sits on a bed of homemade mashed potatoes and green beans. The chicken is tender and the breading has the right amount of crunch and flavor to get you slobbering over your plate. Wow, they said it was great and it far exceeded my expectations.Stockyard Hash ($?): we didnt anticipate it to be a sharing portion but it sure was. The brisket was beautiful and tender, which was accompanied by pulled pork that just helped put the dish onto the next level. Loved every bite and worth the 59759calories that came with it.I cannot wait to go back, in fact, we already made plans. Thank you for your service to the Houston community and I look forward to bringing more and more friends!
The food and drinks have always been top notch. Im impressed with how seriously they take the pandemic. Ordering and paying by app cuts out the middle man - no waiting for your server to show up. They have a great wedge salad. The Beef short ribs are SO TENDER and the salmon is tasty, too. The bread pudding is incredible.
Really cool place to drink and dine in! As soon as you enter you have to sanitize your hands, mask on as well as they check your temperature. The tables are far apart and they also have an outdoor seating option. The coolest part is ordering through an app! The servers are still around to help you through but the app does it all. The drinks are really good and so is food. Would definitely be back!
After My friends run Chevron Houston half marathon, we decided to go that place for having a late Lunch. We ordered the gulf coast oysters. These were some of my favorite oysters in the heights besides Liberty kitchen! Service was beyond amazing, although we did go when it was pretty dead. Really excited to come back for brunch over the weekend!
Before they closed the Ritual concept and open the Korean BBQ one, I revisited for some of my favorite dishes:-Smoked Short Rib - almost unbelievably fork tender and flavorful;-Pig Mac - a decadent blend of creamy cheddar cheese, crunchy pig ear, smoky/savory pulled pork, and just a little bit of spice;-Chicken Fried Steak - one of the best I’ve had in Htx (a lot better than the chicken fried chicken, which was a bit tough), served with their distinctive horseradish mashed potatoes; and- the Ritual Burger - wagyu + smoked brisket + blue cheese = what’s not to love? not pictured because I inhaled it too fast.Honorable mention: Pork Belly appetizer with potatoes au gratinRitual - you will be missed! But looking forward to the new concept.
I came to this place with two friends who are big fans of steak. This is essentially a meat based restaurant and I believe it delivers in terms of the quality of the meat dishes that are served.Vegetarian options are limited to the sides that meat eaters enjoy. There is no real attempt to provide a meal that has an adequate combination of carbohydrates, fats and proteins for a vegetarian. The green plate description is vague. The experience here is limited by the customer service. Servers walk around but it is mandatory that you order on an app like if youre taking out. The app has options for multiple restaurants so its possible to order food at a different restaurant or to order take out.Whats takes away significantly from the dine in experience is the ability to ask your server questions about the meal or to actually make small adjustments to what youre ordering. We ate here on a Friday afternoon and the sun was pouring in and while the ambiance is lovely, eating a meal with sun directly in your eyes is not an ideal dining experience.
Wow!I had contacted Ritual via their website ahead of time because I have food allergies. The following morning I received an email letting me know they could accommodate and appreciate the heads up so the chef could be prepared. I responded with a reservation. Once we arrived the waiter was prepared to address our needs.Because its prepared fresh we were able to order items with slight alterations. As expected some things took a bit longer but I have to say everything we ordered was outstanding! They didnt just feed me, they fed my soul!Hayden, our waiter, was fabulous. He knows the menu and was able to assist us in our choices, including wine. He could have been slightly more attentive to refilling water but he was available often enough that it wasnt an issue. The food was beautiful and was cooked to order. The service was fabulous. I can only image how wonderful the food is without alterations. If you dont have diet restrictions go! Go and enjoy thoughtfully prepared dishes that are sure to please. If you do have diet restrictions, let them know ahead and enjoy great food and great hospitality! My apologies to the chef for not remembering to take photos before I sampled.
The moment I walked in for Sunday brunch, I knew I would visit again. My car had just been valet parked (complimentary), and we were politely welcomed and taken to a table. I liked the decor and layout which gave the place a chill and modern vibe. The pineapple, watermelon and ginger mimosa caught our attention, so we decided to get started with a carafe of that. It turned out to be a good and refreshing choice. Being our first time there, we asked our server for recommendations on the popular orders. With the guidance of his keen insight, we ordered the chicken fried chicken (CFC) with grits and the Texas S.O.S. breakfast. The chicken was well seasoned and those grits were deliciously cheesy. The Texas S.O.S breakfast was filling and had a good variety of flavorful items. The potatoes, toast, brisket and eggs were all yummy, and the cream sauce was an amazing addition to the meal. I had a great brunch experience that I look forward to repeating.
Parking was a little confusing but the valet guys took care of me immediately. The wait was an hour but we didnt have a reservation so our fault. However the food was quick. The drinks were great and very well priced. Great service from Douglas!!The best is the outdoor seating! Made it a perfect Sunday brunch. Would come back! :)
I saw this restaurant on White Oak Dr. @ Studewood St. a while back. Recently, I was looking online for a moderately priced steak when I saw their listing on Google Maps.To order, you need a smartphone to download the Roovy app. You place your order and pay the check on this app.I ordered the chicken fried steak. Its served with cream gravy on a bed of mashed potatoes with green beans. The food was very good and seasoned to my taste. My server was friendly and service was very prompt.
I have been here few times already. Definitely would order the ritual burger again. The bone marrow roast on top of the burger meat makes this dish so delicious. The crab cakes we order was so tasty. The restaurant didnt hold back on the crab meat and I was not disappointed with what we order. Oh, definitely substitute the fries to the onion rings. The only thing that went wrong with the Ritual burger was that we order it medium rare and it came out well done. But the kitchen made me another one. I would definitely come back again.
I have now visited Ritual twice. The first time I was not impressed with the chicken and waffles and my friend didnt love her selection either but I decided to give another try when I received an invitation from friends for brunch. both times we were basically the only customers during prime brunch time which to me is telling.... I enjoyed my meal, chicken fried chicken, much better this time HOWEVER they have this odd order process which ruins the experience in my groups opinion. you must download this app to see the menu-fine. but then you have to create an account and upload a method of payment as well- not very fun when you just want to get orders in. Waitress did not come to answer any questions we may have had about menu or check on food taste after we ordered or to bring extra condiments.. so this system hinders the ability to get what you need to enjoy your meal. I didnt have water, or condiments, or enough napkins.. all of these things we had to get up and go inside to request. so if youre not big on things like this and just want good food I say give it a try, but if service is important to you, id pass there are better options for brunch.
My first time here and I sat at the bar. The first drink I had was the “bourbon cocktail” and it was pretty good and not overtly sweet. The bartender knew it was my first time so I asked for dinner recommendations. She had several but since I have only one stomach she recommended the chicken fried ribeye. It was tasty but not nearly spicy enough for me so I added hot sauce. The second drink picture is a bourbon old fashion which they serve in a chilled glass but without ice. The bitters over powered the whiskey so I think the balance needs to be worked on. Finally I ordered the death by chocolate cake to go. I shared it with my friends and thoroughly enjoyed it.😋
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! I could give it 5 stars! The service was excellent. My server Leon I know does this from his heart. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations. Sherrell was a wonderful host- very pleasant. The ambience was very chill but had a rustic vibe. The menu had great options - extensive drink menu. I had the Gumbo as an appetizer and the Southern Hush Puppies. The Gumbo was a great restaurant gumbo! It came with a boudin ball. My meal was the Butcher’s Breakfast, Khalil ordered Biscuits & Gravy but subed his meat for Smoked brisket. My mom had the Stockyard hash - which came on a small skillet - she had leftovers! I ordered a waffle to complete my meal.... 5 stars across the board on EVERTHING!!! 👏🏾👏🏾A must for your Saturday and Sunday Brunch!
Relatively crowded on a weekend night. Small parking area but you can do valet or street parking. The inside of this place was not what I had expected. There were meat on display in the butcher area. A bit of an interesting site while youre eating.Great portion, the angry bird came on a huge plate. Fried chicken on top of waffles with some pickles on the side. The fried chicken was extra crispy. The chicken meat was not too dry, very tender. It went great with the waffles.Atmosphere here is chill and it seems to be a casual ambience. The service was great. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Overall, a good spot to grab lunch or dinner.
This place used to be a 5+ experience. Post covid however, it just isnt the same place. There is no table service, and the food and beverage menus have been scaled back. You must all order independently on an app they require you to download and they just deliver your food, kinda like a counter service restaurant. So its still a $50+ a person meal meal but no longer the experience you would expect for a restaurant in that price range. And definitely, not ideal for groups as the drinks and food comes out sporadically.
My wife, father and mother came here on a Sunday evening for a family dinner. The restaurant is located on the corner of Studewood St. and White Oak Dr. and they offer complimentary valet! 😁Our server’s name was Nu and she was a very polite and generous host.We started off with a dozen of raw east coast oysters. They were delicious. It came with the standard horseradish/cocktail sauces but it also came with a house smoked fish dish that was superb!I had been eyeing the menu all day in anticipation of this meal and had my heart set on a steak so, that’s exactly what I ordered. A 24oz 30 day dried bone in ribeye. It was perfect. I requested it rare and that is exactly how it came. The meat was moist, tender and melted in my mouth with every bite.My wife ordered the Angry Bird which is a deep fried half chicken, with a cayenne pepper baste on top of a cornbread waffle with maple syrup and house pickles. She said it was delightful and even brought home leftovers in a to go box.My mother ordered a 10oz filet which was perfectly prepared to her specifications (medium well). She said it was an amazing steak. The one downside of the meal however, was my father’s order; the roasted parmesan cauliflower with a side of shrimp. As delicious as it looked, he commented that the dish was cold and that he was not impressed 👎🏻.He informed our server Nu and she offered to have the kitchen prepare him another one but, we ended up settling with it being removed from our bill. The ambiance of the establishment was right up my alley; with basketball games on at the bar (just within eye shot) and a great music selection (80’s classic rock like Africa by Toto).Cold roasted Parmesan cauliflower aside, Ritual is definitely worth checking out.
We came here last Friday with a group of friends. The atmosphere and decor is really nice but i gotta say, after being there for about 3 hours, my back was killing me in those high chairs lol My husband and i had 2 drinks, i had the humu drink which was great, however i would not recommend having their old fashioned as the glass was only a 1/4 full? moving onto what we ordered, i ordered the chicken fried rib-eye that comes with mashed potatoes and green beans, my husband ordered the 12 oz gearheart ranch strip with the craw-fish risotto and shrimp. This is by far the best steak and chicken fried steak we have EVER EATEN. It all just melted in your mouth, everything had great flavor nothing was lacking. However i wouldnt recommend dessert here either, we ordered the bread pudding and gotta say Goode Company does that one better. Overall tho i would definitely recommend this place for the appetizers and entrees!
Had the Chicken Fried Steak and it was amazing. Can with mashed potatoes and green beans which were fantastic as well. Interior and service were also very nice!
The food is very tasty and servers are kind, but not a fan of the app required to order and pay. It’s clunky and bit confusing and we ended up having to wave servers down anyway to ask them for condiments, entree/dessert timing, to go boxes, and more. Other than our frantic waving, they scarcely stopped by our table. Busers ran our food and refilled our water. The app automatically adds gratuity, and while I’m eager to support local businesses during this time, I was left wondering who gets the lion’s share of this gratuity - our invisible servers or the diligent bus boys.
I visited Ritual with family for the first time today. I was quite excited about reading the reviews but the overall experience was quite underwhelming. What was odd was the order process - they ask to download an app to see the menu, I need to create an account and upload my credit card details...why? It does not help with the experience though the waiter was quite polite and helped me through the process. The food menu was limited and not great...nothing excitIng, though the house chips were good. Cocktails were pretty ordinary.
This place was very impressive and unique. Aged meats, top notch cocktails & craft beer, and outstanding staff. A generous Wednesday happy hour includes complimentary appetizers. The meat & cheese tray is one of the best in the business and our bartender was able able to craft outstanding cocktails to to my wifes tastes. The atmosphere is special too with an open, slightly industrial feel that feels high end and luxurious almost. Great value here too. Well definitely be back.
I have to give MAJOR kudos to The Ritual. For the Best Chef and the best waitress, Terri (Ask for her because she will tell you what to order). Our waitress immediately steered us in the right direction regarding the menu. My mom and I came in there looking for Burgers and by the time we left we had tried 5 dishes. Im telling you she is the best waitress Ive ever had, she is hilarious! My family is from New Orleans, so it is VERY rare that we find a gumbo that we even remotely like, but Terri insisted that that and the Lobster Macaroni was a must have. By far The Ritual has the best Gumbo my Mom and I have ever tasted, I seriously recommend Death By Gumbo. Chef Eric is an absolute visionary, the Gumbo is jam packed with sausage, quail, carb, seasonings, everything you can possibly imagine it is in there and its HUGE. This guy is legit the real deal, hes Lobster Marconi is phenomenal. It is so creamy and cheesy and perfectly seasoned. I lived in Maine for a year, so I know Lobster and that dish was amazing. The night didnt stop there, my Mom and I wanted to try a little bit of everything, so we also got The Ritual Burger and the Down south Burger. I understand why Zagat named them some of the top burgers to try in Houston. The Ritual has fantastic homemade bread and they definitely dont rely on salt and pepper, they season everything with fresh ingredients and spices. Of Course we had to order dessert and our girl Terri told us about Chef Erics to die for Apple Pie and Texas Chocolate Sheet cake with vanilla cream. Everything just melted in our mouths, I felt like I could barely walk out of the restaurant. Our waitress was so attentive and personable, she made our night a 100% better. Chef Eric even played host with us for a little while, he greeted us and chatted for a little bit in between courses. Its very rare that I find a restaurant with an amazing Waitress AND Chef. Im telling you, you need to go here.P.S. if you order steak they will cut it for you and you can choose your cut, they have their own butcher in house. No Joke!
Death by Gumbo.Delicious... there was a full quail in the dish, along with pork belly chunks, boudin balls, pulled pork, fried okra, sausage galore.... it was served piping hot and I happily burned my mouth all over it. Very tasty. The pork belly started with scalloped potatoes was also spectacular, and you cannot skip the hush puppies. The service, however, was lacking. Almost 35 minutes to get our initial round of drinks. Over 45 minutes for the appetizers, and they came seconds before the mains were plunked down... It pretty much all came at once... profuse apologies from the waiter about it being his fault were not supplemented by any offer to discount the food...Anyway, would happily eat here again, but they lose points for the service.
A friend and I were originally going to go to a bar down the street but didn’t like the vibe. We were told about Ritual from a mutual friend but never gave It a try, but since we were in walking distance we figured why not. By favor the best change we could’ve made in our day for dinning. At the Ritual the staff was EXCELLENT, food was fast, fresh, and delicious. The General Manager personally speaks to every table making the entire experience very warm. 10 out of 10 would recommend for brunch or any other time of the day. I will definitely be back!
Excellent food and the service was amazing! We fell in love with this place!
A much more downscale experience now that they use an app to order and pay. We go to a restaurant like this to enjoy the food, ambience, and good service, not to work as a waiter. And the app is not even a good app. What a shame!
Amazing food, eclectic drink menu, and great location for nightlife!
Good place to hang out with friends and the food is pretty good too
Went for the first time on Friday night (7/7/17). Wow, the food is amazing. My partner and I each had a filet, cooked medium, and then shared asparagus and cheesy scalloped potatoes. Not pictured: the tamale of the day (which was also great). The steak was so flavorful. The outside edges were amazing. The potatoes were sinful...we could have ordered another side of them. The asparagus was delish. My cocktail, Where the Streets Have No Name, was so smooth. What a great combo. The space is great. Wonderful service.
Great food, imaginative menu and wonderful staff. I will return.
Great food, great cocktails, really enjoyed Ritual. Came in early before a show and got seated right away. Will be back.
Overrated... had a great time because of friends. The app that you have to download to order is kinda annoying... for the price the food should be better. I ordered steak flight. Honestly, I could have gotten a better steak at a steak night. Tell me I’m wrong?! It took 30 min to get shots... why? Easiest thing to pour... 2 stars for having a good time with friends.
Great service and wonderful atmosphere. Of all the dishes my table enjoyed, the steak was the best by far. Everything else was just “good”.
Dropped in for Easter Brunch, seems everyone is milking COVID to the point to where patrons are doing all the work and prices are all higher. No menu, you have to use your own phone to place your order- drinks, appetizers, food etc. just short of the patron going into the kitchen and preparing their own meal and paying $20 an entree for it. The waitstaff/servers never came by the table to offer refills for drinks( water) and or if any condiments were needed. I will say the gumbo they served in a small coffee mug was delicious. The biscuits were dense and flavorless the seafood chowder lacked spice. The customer experience is lost now, I guess that’s the way of the future. Hopefully their rebranding initiative will work.
Pre-Covid this was a five star restaurant, the food is very good and servers are kind, but not a fan of the app required to order and pay. It’s difficult to download, add CC information, navigate and a bit confusing. Would suggest with doing the QR menus and orders placed through servers like other restaurants. We ended up having to wave servers down to ask them for condiments, substitutions, and alcohol drinks not available in the app.
Outstanding food but the Roovy app is a big downside. My stepdad was very skeptical about putting credit card information into a one time use app. I would recommend getting rid of this service. I would love to come back but not until the app is gone.
Nice spot. Does not allow cigar smoking after a fabulous meal... the new order through the app verses we are still engaging with the wait staff us very odd... the service seems slower through the app... I meant more time with the staff giving me great customer service than I did dealing with the app that I could have had my drinks by then
Great lunch menu! Really enjoyed the Salmon. Quick, friendly service. The Blackhill Porkbelly appetizer was worth the trip just by itself. It’s a must have!
Slow service.Cute uniforms.Cute bathrooms.Free valet parking.Outdoor seating.Uninspired, unimpressive food and a brunch menu that apparently mistakes potatoes for hasbrowns. The french fries were good.Cant possibly reccomend to anyone.Though the manager J.D. did come by and when I told him about the food he did comp most of the bill.
This place was truly special. The ambiance is great - a very cool décor, knowledgeable staff, and the perfect volume (not so quiet that you feel like you are screaming whee you dont whisper, but not so loud that you have to raise your voice). Depending on the night, a reservation is probably needed. We started the meal with some delicious Sourdough Hushpuppies with Jalapeño Jelly, and then had the outstanding, and generously portioned, Pig Mac. The mac was a nice change from what has become the staple of the truffle mac (which I do love, dont get me wrong), offering instead a hint of chili lime flavor - it sounds weird but dont miss it. As the main, we had the cut of the moment, which was a New York Strip, and the red beans and rice. The steak was incredible! Perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. The red beans and rice did not disappoint - the sausage in it was home made and truly fantastic.I recommend this place for date night, friends night, or if youre just hungry!
Excellent food, service andatmosphere. Theflavors were delicious.would happily go back here.
Here for happy hour before dinner. Nice selection of beer, wine and cocktails. U shaped large central bar with upstairs area for large groups.
Best brunch my wife and I have ever had!
The old fashions are phenomenal. They use turbinado. The food is exceptional. We had the short ribs, seafood gravy and the shrimp cocktail at the bar. Great service. We will be back. I like that they have a patio.
Usually I would post pictures along with my review, however this night I was too annoyed to. Some people think the app to order food in place of a real server is cool but to me it is a waste. You have to download the app to see the menu, put in your credit card info before you can order, you order your food but can’t tell them if you want it in a certain way, and no matter how great or bad the service was you get charged 20% gratuity. Food was good but will not come back until they have full service servers.
One of our favorite spots when we want to splurge a bit. Tonight we celebrated our 2-year wedding anniversary at Ritual. We love how innovative their leadership was to have a touch less experience. Ordering through the app is a breeze and incredibly easy. These type of things are key during a pandemic. The drinks, people and food are always on point. I’m not a fan of valet parking so I usually have to park on the street, but other than that, it’s always a great experience! The host T’angelo is so friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be visiting again.
Teangelo the general manager is AMAZING!! He and his staff were incredibly hospitable and so attentive to my best friend and I during our visit! The food is AMAZING and the drinks are ON POINT! Ritual has definitely become one of my top two brunch spots! Five stars across the board no exaggeration!
After arriving just a little too late for the brunch at The Dunlavy we scrambled to find a good place for our hungry Sunday post-workout meal. Seeing the rating for Ritual we took a chance and were not disappointed! It was pretty busy but with an ample dining room there was no wait to be seated. Even after requesting to be moved to another area with better lighting the hostess was very accommodating and helped us find a better spot.We ordered the biscuits with jam to nibble on while we decided on entrees. Everyone seated around us seemed to be in love with their dishes making deciding on one even more difficult. We landed on the seafood gumbo for myself and the shrimp and grits for my friend. Best decisions wed made all week. The food was hot, fresh, full of authentic flavor (my Louisiana family makes the best gumbo so Im pretty picky about these things). The portions are big and considering the biscuits we both ended up with doggy bags or else we would have opted to try a dessert. No sweets for us this go round, but theres always next time. There WILL be a next time!
Went for Brunch- Food was good, experience poor. After ordering via the app which you have to download, the only option, we waited 20 minutes then flagged down a waiter to ask if we could at least get our coffee. He said we hadn’t placed an order yet. We checked the app and couldn’t tell if the order was or wasn’t placed, so had to start over. I asked if we could just verbally give the waiter our order. He said no, due to covid and social distancing we had to use the app..??? How does telling a waiter our order while we all wear masks create any concern?I wanted an omelette but the only option was with sausage and shrimp, and I asked if I could order a vegetarian omelette instead. I was told to put in the comments of the order any topics I did or did not want. I asked if that would be a change in price as the omelette on the menu with meat was $18, waiter said no it would be the same. So I ordered something else, $18 for a vegetarian omelette is not worth it. Only option to pay is through the app and you have to enter your credit card info. Never could get a refill on coffee or water, no waiters ever checked on us.Overall, many great restaurants around and I don’t have to download an app to eat elsewhere, not worth it here.
Great place to try their aged in house steaks.
Awesome food and place looks great too!!!
The service was not good today - we were a party of five with reservations. They sat us at a high-top table which we immediately asked if there was another table available. The hosts demeanor changed immediately and directed us to look for a table outside on the patio. He did not even escort us to the patio - just pointed and left us to find a table on our own. We were informed we needed to download the Roovy app to order our food, select the table number which was displayed on our table, and pay for our food through the app. At this point, why do we need a waitstaff? If we were going to spend over $150 for brunch, I can assure you we would have gone to another restaurant in Houston where we didnt have to use an app to order and pay for our food. Is The Ritual now a fast-food restaurant i.e. Sonic, McDonalds, etc.?In our past visits with The Ritual pre-Covid, our experiences were good; however, today was an epic fail. The waitstaff was unavailable for questions and did not ask if this was our first time, etc. - the normal questions you would expect from the waitstaff. The waitstaff delivered our food, and then we had to hunt them down for items they did not bring us with our order, refills, and to-go boxes. We had one person in our party who had never been before - she will not return after todays experience. She commented, There are too many restaurants in Houston to waste my time here.Part of our food was cold, but it was not worth the hassle to return it to the kitchen. And, once the food was delivered, we did not see our waitstaff for a very long time. We flagged down the water refill person, but he told us to talk to our waitstaff. That would have been fine if they had ever appeared at our table. We can cross The Ritual off the list, and now begin our search for a restaurant who actually appreciates our business.
Saturday night cocktails and appetizers at the bar... Service was prompt and attentive... Not to busy... Went with a cosmopolitan for my cocktail which was ok... Appetizers a stuff shirmp dish, fried okra and the seafood gravy... All was tasty but I was kind of not impressed with the presentation of the shrimp dish it tasted way better than it looked... Serving size for all was enough to share between two... I will keep this placed bookmarked for cocktails and appetizers at the bar...
Nice restaurant casual atmosphere but dont like the must use app to order food. I dont know what I would do if my phone dies but maybe this is the way that the future.
Fantastic restaurant. The ambience is great, friendly and welcoming staff, great cocktails, and the food is amazing. I highly recommend the pork chop. It comes with a fried grit cake that is insane. Cant wait to go back.
If i could score zero i would. I was excited to go to this place based off of Taste with Tanji. The atmosphere was great. Her conversation with the owner was exciting and the food looked delicious. Also the customers had great things to say. So my Husband and i decided to check them out.We drove all the way from Fulsher to visit this establishment. 1st thing went wrong, i called for a 7pm reservation. I had to call 3x before someone answered. When he did answer, he simply said his name as if he were answering a cell phone. 2nd thing when we arrived we werent greeted promptly as the entire place only had 3 seated tables. Our host wasnt helpful. No paper menus available. No run down of specials or her recommendations as it was our 1st time. Our phones dont scan QR codes which is the ONLY way to get your order in and pay. What do you do if a customer dosent have their phone? What if i wanted to pay cash and not use my credit card?? 3rd we were left sitting for quite sometime to the point i had to go to the bar to ask for a darn napkin. And speaking of napkins, we were served our food finally by someone else and was left sitting without a dinner napkin or even utensils to eat with.I spoke with the manager which sound like THE SAME GUY who took my reservation. I explained to him the service we received. Id wanted to pay for our drinks and leave. We paid for our drinks, he offered us to take the food to go. We hadnt touched it so NO Sir i dont want your food to go. I dont want anything free, i just want what i asked for and expect same service as the other 2 couples that were there. Its unfortunate to get such crummy service. Its also unfortunate that neither of us got to taste any of the food. I cant give a review on the quality of the meals prepared for us. All i can say is we WONT ever return here.
Ritual was an amazing experience for us - especially during this time! From the hospitality to the service and their food. We will definitely be back for more.. and to try their pig mac.
SO ANNOYING!This place instead of making your brunch nice and relaxing the only thing they do is stressing you out with their new method of order. You have to download an app for you to have your order and pay there as well. Because I’m a tourist, I couldn’t do it because they ask for an American phone number and they didn’t give me a solution so I had to leave the place. Very bad experience...
Great atmosphere, furnishings were super fun and cool. Service was great and the food was bomb!
Food and service was great. Once we sat down we were told that we had to download their app to place an order. Really disappointed about being forced to download the app(its been a challenge trying to delete my credit card info). We live in the neighborhood but we wont be coming back unless Ritual removes this feature.
From arrival to departure. Service was poor. Food was so so (brunch). They took a while to seat us and others that had come in. Two different staff saw us and looked but kept walking. Then they sat us right in the sun. You must use an app to order and pay through it etc. Good intentions I’m sure, but poor execution.Outdoor patio in front of the band looked nice...Interior design is kinda cool. But first impression of this place not enough to entice me to come back.
Your first experience will be a bad one because of the app you need to download to have thing including softdrinks. Unlike normal order with a waiter where you order drinks appetizers then entrees and one time you now need to plan the timing or you will find yourself with it all at once. The food is great 3.75 starsThe service staff 4+ starsThe atmosphere 3.5 starsFirst tine dining experience 1 starKnowing this i believe the the overall that next time will be maybe as high as a 4 star rating.
Really good service and ambiance. Amazing food. Get the burger.
I was drawn to this place by the good reviews. I have to say I really liked that they took my temperature upon arrival, it gives you some confidence that they want to stay open during the pandemic, but doing so responsibly. The atmosphere is really good, they have plenty of space and a nice setting. I sat in the patio with my friends and they had live music which elevated the good ambiance. I enjoyed their crab cake as an appetizer and it was delicious. But I was not impressed by the shrimp and scallops risotto, the seafood was grilled to perfection, but they fell short with the risotto itself. My friend got a cup of their Gumbo and she also thought it was just ok. I would have been disappointed if it wasnt for all those bottles of a really good Malbec that we ordered, the good company and the nice music.
I wish that I could make dinner at Ritual...well.. a ritual!I went here on a date on a quiet weeknight. It wasnt very crowded, so I felt very relaxed and comfortable. The waitress was very accommodating and nice, answering any questions we had as well as making recommendations (as this was my first time here). The food was very good. Everything was a delightful spin-off from what I usually expect from a pricey, southern cuisine eatery. We ordered:The Smoked fish appetizer (elevated tuna and crackers)Lobster Mac (I would honestly just come back for this alone!)Mashed Potatoes (delicious and garlic-y)The Chicken and cornbread waffle (FANTASTIC)The Duck (my date had this, but he said it was phenomenal.Very worth the price point!
A friend recommended this place. I stopped in for brunch today. I had the brunch burger, coffee and a mimosa. The food was delicious. The band was amazing! The service was horrible or nonexistent. I ordered through the app as suggested and my food arrived immediately. I never saw my waitress again. It was very difficult getting more coffee, water or anything else. I eventually asked the hostess for help. She seemed bothered by my request. They finally replied to my request as I was leaving. The overall experience was just disappointing. I won’t be back. Too many other choices.
I’ve got a lot to say about this place. First of all, the food is not as good as it used to be a year ago. Comes out cold and not as good tasting as before. Ordering from the app Roovy is a ripoff, ridiculous and so annoying! By using the app, it charges you more. For example, if you want a bowl of gumbo (not a cup), it WILL charge you for a cup ($9) PLUS the bowl price of about $12!!! And they just bring you the bowl for $21 total! Same for mimosas. You want the carafe, you pay for a cup of mimosa PLUS a carafe of mimosa. But they only bring you a carafe lol. I used to come here a lot and the waitress argued with me about the prices on the app, told me that those have always been the prices. I said “no ma’am they have not, I have been here many many times” and she told me I was wrong, that that’s how it’s always been. So I asked for a manager to talk to him about the prices on the app and he said that’s how it is now, yet their online menu still shows the regular prices. So I paid for an extra cup but only got the bowl of gumbo. You cannot modify or ask things a different way through the app. On top of this, they sat us on a table where the AC does not hit and with the sun directly on us. We started sweating. We asked the waitress if she could please bring the AC up, she supposedly did but we felt no difference.Had to step in there again for a friend’s birthday last month. Did not mention my past experience with Ritual to them and they all disliked the new concept just as much as I did. Also, when I came into the restaurant there was no one up in the front so I went ahead and walked up to my friends who were already sitting down. A man comes running after me yelling “ma’am ma’am ma’am!!!” So loud that everyone near by turned. He yelled “I have to check your temperature before you walk in” And so I said “well if there was someone in the front checking temperatures, I would’ve not walked straight in”. Obviously they care more about checking temperatures than how good their food tastes or if the customer receives cold food. I will not be returning until Ritual finds a better way to function during this pandemic!!! They might as well gown up completely in PPE and provide better customer service & better prices.
Went out for our anniversary dinner last week. Being asked to use hand sanitizer and have my temperature taken the moment we walked in was over the top. We were wearing the required masks. One we got the table we had to download an app so we could look at the menu, order our food and pay for our meal. I wondered why we had driven into the Heights for the experience. The food was ok but didnt compensate for the rest of the experience.
This is the 16 oz wagyu strip. Nothing bad to say about this place. Everything all around was really great.
If your looking for a great steak, amazing atmosphere and best service! RITUAL is perfect. Staff is great our waiter Hayden was the best. Always attentive and made perfect recommendations. Steaks are great and the price is right. We will definitely come back
Perfect place for brunch with your buddies
Very good food and our Waiter Jake was amazingly nice
You must order a steak if you go here otherwise you will regret it.
Went based on a recommendation and was disappointed. The parking situation is challenging, you are forced to order and pay via an app which removes almost all contact with the servers, and the food was over cooked and bland. This place has so much waisted potential.
Ambience was good (aside from being able to see the raw butchered meats). Service was good. Food was good. Everything was good. For the price I expected super delicious and great tasting, not good. Felt overpriced, compared to the few other expensive restaurants Ive been to where the taste of the food is awesome.
Awesomely Delicious Chicken Fried Steak! 😋 🤗
Don’t like the new system of downloading a app and having to order through the app and the app charges as you go. So who am I tipping? No need for waiters just food runners. I don’t understand why they can’t be normal and have a QR code for the menu and order with a waiter. These places always want to do something different. Don’t like it. Definitely not coming here again.
When it comes to steak, the best is usually the one I grill at home. Very rarely do I think buying a steak is worth it. Well this was honestly the best steak Ive ever had. The rib-eye was just amazing. The seared crust was superb. Well be back soon.
I wanted to take a moment to review my favorite restaurant in town, Ritual.I come here for the wagyu ribeye from Rosewood ranch. They are better than Vic & Anthony’s, better than Mastro’s, better than Pappas Bro’s. Better than my favorite 5-6 ribeyes in NYC or Vegas. Other cuts here are good, but not the very best in town like the wagyu ribeye. Preparation is perfect every time. I’m like 15 for 15.The rest of the menu could stand alone as one of the most diverse. Incredibly original combinations.Bar is on point. Ambiance is ideal. Wait staff is amazing! (Pre-covid when they had a job to do)All of this is from before Covid. I look forward to getting back to business as usual with full menu. As others have noted, the logistics and experience of having to use Roovy app at table and bar is a train wreck. Poor choice by ownership to push the app, without regard to sizable UX trade off. However, I have no doubt this place will come roaring back. It’s a gem!
Three of us had lunch here today. It was a birthday celebration for two of us. Based on the excellent reviews, we took a chance and selected Ritual for this special celebration. I must say, I was disappointed.I wanted to order the Cast Iron Fried Chicken sandwich. I asked the server how it was, and he said just OK. Well ... that wasnt a ringing endorsement. I asked him what he suggested instead, and he highly recommended The Ritual Burger, so I changed my order to that. Wow, what a disappointment. The burger itself was tough and flavorless. I only picked at the contents. On the positive side, the chicken lollipops (an appetizer) were quite tasty. But I guess my biggest disappointment was that there was no acknowledgment of the two birthdays, even though it was mentioned in the reservation and also told to our server directly.I will not be back.
Very good
Very cute and versatile interior, was not expecting that by the looks of the facade. Our waiter was just the right amount of attentive, keeping our drinks refreshed. Did not come by once with our mouths full, pet peeve of mine.
