BUYER BEWARE! DO NOT hire Bayou City Cabinet Cabinets!!My husband and I own a small remodeling business and hired Bayou City Cabinets for some additional cabinetry in a client’s home because the previous homeowner had used them when he remodeled the kitchen. We worked with Michael Griffith, the VP/ Sales manager. On install day Michael contacted us that the cabinets he had ordered for the laundry room were too large to fit due to a dryer vent that he claimed wasn’t there when he measured and asked me if I wanted to purchase a smaller cabinet. The dryer vent had been there all along and we sent him a picture from the HAR listing which clearly showed the dryer vent and we told him we could have somebody cut the cabinet to fit the dryer vent but hoped Bayou City Cabinets would cover this labor cost. He told me he would not do that because I had signed off on the drawings and had not caught HIS mistake.I later went to walk the job site and called him about several other concerns I had and asked if he could meet me on site to look at these. He said he didn’t have time but wanted me to tell him what the issues were, seemingly getting angry with me. I started listing off some things, one of which the sides of the cabinets that were open to a niche did not have a side panel and therefore things could easily fall between the cabinet and the wall in this 2” gap, along with some other concerns. He said something back to me (I don’t remember exactly what) and I told him I felt as if he was being rude & I wasn’t trying to start an argument I just wanted to get these things fixed. This is when Michael told me that I could figure it out myself and finish the job myself, he wasn’t going to help me anymore (yelling this at me) and he hung up the phone on me.I told my husband what had happened and he contacted Michael and asked to come pick up the remaining parts we needed (the installer told me Michael had not ordered all of the side panels and small finishing pieces that we needed) so that we could have our employees finish the install. My husband had to go back to the shop twice because Michael gave him the wrong panels twice so we had to improvise and used something else to finish out the cabinetry. We spent $980 to finish the cabinet installation and another $320 to move the dryer vent so that the cabinets would fit. We had paid Bayou City Cabinets a 50% deposit on order and owed them the remaining 50%. My husband had a phone call with Michael and the owner today expressing to them that we would pay the remaining 50% owed, less the $1300 we had to spend to fix their mistakes. Michael said nasty things about me to my husband so my husband asked to speak to the owner who threatened to put a lien on the client’s home if we don’t pay the full amount owed (less $200 for the trouble).I have never had an experience like this with someone so rude and unprofessional. They make mistakes and tried to blame it on anyone else (mostly me) and did not deliver a nice finished product. I am filing a complaint with the BBB and spreading this message so everyone will know how terrible this company and these men are.-Tori Noel
One star is too many. Do yourself a favor a shop elsewhere. Dont relive my horrible experience. Pitiful installation and poor service sums it up. Installers dont know which ends of the trim to cut, try to hide mistakes, unlevel cabinets, wrong dimension ordering, crooked doors and rigged pedestal. Owners will not respond to calls and emails. Must be embarrased. I could go on and on. You can do better.
I cannot even describe the lack of integrity this company has. Ordered a full new kitchen in Dec. Delivered installed Jan. The order was not complete and they had to reorder some parts, ok, we were patient. This took an additional month. They came back to finish, but STILL didnt have all the parts needed. ANOTHER 6 weeks go buy, now our rep, one of the owners, Michael Griffith, who liked to act like he cared, completely ghosted us. No return phone calls, no emails we had to call the main office. They are trying to make it right but in installing a drawer handle, broke 2 more so now Im in worse shape than I was before and no sign or info of where the rest of my parts are. They apologize, but that is not enough for what they have put me through. We trusted they were professional but now I feel like they just wanted our money and bailed. So upset and I wanted to make sure no one else has to go through this nightmare like we are. Still ongoing with no end in sight....(3 months later)
