It was a privilege to have Tim build my first AR. Very informative about any questions or concerns that I had! Also because Im located in a different state, Tim also had to ship out the AR to a local gun range (of my choosing) in my area and has kept me updated with the shipment and the process until I had it in my hands. I WILL BE BACK for my next toy.
I got an aluminum keyboard (originally painted black) cerakoted gold here and a logo infilled black. You can see how good their work is in the pictures. Im not sure what their process is to paint but if feels like they never even sandblasted off the old paint and just rushed the the paint job because I was told 2-3 weeks but waited a month. Called once to see how it was going. I was told it would be ready that Saturday.Paint problems:Layer of dust cerakoted over on the bottom side with logo.Logo infill is not smooth at all. You can see marks/small dots. There is also small holes/indentions on the cerakote.Im not expert on this but there definitely shouldnt be dust cerakoted over, inspected, and handed over to the customer for 95 dollars and one month wait time.I hope they can work to fix the problems.EDIT/UPDATE:They redid the the job and fixed the dust and logo infill. The indentions were from the metal itself, not old paint. I was wrong and he sandblasted it each time he redid it. I may come back again.
I Have been this place twice for two different things I wanted done on my Firearms. I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Good service and quality work. Will be coming back for more upgrades
They did a custom lower for me and it came out perfect. Really nice guys and great work, doesn’t get much better than that. I would recommend them any time.
I brought a couple parts to get Cerakoted Titanium blue. They told me it would take about a month due to their work load which I was cool with and it was worth the wait! I definitely will be bringing more parts in the future. It came out awesome!
Great Experience !!! The people that work there are awesome! Tim is very communicative and helps out any way you can to get your gun or accessories the way you want them. I got 3 guns completely re done by them and will continue going back! Awesome staff and AMAZING work for the stuff they do! If they don’t have what you want in stock they will get it and customize to meet your needs! Wouldn’t go any where else ! Just waiting for the next purchase I get to take to them. They are good with working with prices ! Thanks!
This company does amazing cerakoting jobs. I just had them cerakote mu side charging AR upper receiver. The color matched the lower receiver that was cerakoted over two years before! There attention to detail that they did was great. If you want something cerakoted and want it to painted and attention to the details this is the place to send it too!
Took my custom Government .45 to these guys and they stated the best coating would be the KG. When I went to pick it up the first time there were marks made from the sight pusher on the front of the slide sides. Left weapon and came back 3 days later, marks still there. I questioned as to why they coated the ramp and chamber since any newby knows is polished and fitted for the weapon. I was assured the coating would help. Took weapon directly to range and in 4 mags I had 6 jams and the slide failed to lock back several times. Mags were also hard to insert. Took it back and their gunsmith, Michael, stated the problem was the trigger bow must have been bent in the polisher! The only way that could have happened is if the put heavy items, i.e. frame/slide, into the polisher at the same time. Left weapon. Picked it up today and was told by Michael that he applied too much material mag release which was causing the problem. He stated he removed some of the material from the mag release and from the ramp and chamber. Took weapon directly to range again and although the slide did lock back the weapon still had feed to battery several times. I have carried this .45 for over 30 years and it was custom tuned to a specific round and yes that is what I was shooting. I know from experience that the most likely cause of the failure to feeds was the slide was being slowed down ever so slightly. Most like from the tolerances being out due too much coating and/or coating the barrel. I contacted Cerakote and they stated they do not recommend coating barrels. When cleaning my weapon I also found the KG coating is already coming off areas of the rails! What goo is a product what wont withstand the weapon being fired? I have contacted Cerakoters by Stac and requested a full refund for the poor job and the fact I will now have the expense of having my weapon completed refinished.I do wish to thank you for stepping up and admitting your mistakes and reimbursing me 100% of my cost. I did not accept 120% because that would not be fair on my part.“Had a feeling from the beginning it was going to be this type of relationship” If you mean as a customer I brought you a $1500 weapon for Cerakote then you convinced me that KG was better and assured me I would have a durable finish then yes that is the type of relationship that took place in the beginning. And what on earth could you say to embarrass me? Facts are facts - When I first called on my weapon you stated you had a problem with the current batch of KG, which was too thin, your words. My review was and is 100% accurate. I contracted with you to coat my weapon expecting a “professional” outcome. The first time I picked up my weapon it malfunctioned which according to your own gunsmith, the same person who applied the KG coating, he put too much material on the mag catch. He also coated the feed ramp and chamber of the barrel, and again I was told by Cerakote, they do not recommend coating a barrel due to tolerances. The second time I picked up my weapon I was not only “still” experiencing some feed issues, which my weapon did not have prior to the KG coating, and although the KG coating was removed from the feed ramp, I found the chamber “still” has KG in it! And as you can see from the photos the KG coating has already come off several areas of the slide and frame rails after only one box of rounds. So unless I am missing something there are no “Key Details that influenced the project on my part. I contracted with you, you dismantled and prepped my weapon, you applied the KG Coating, end of key issues.
Awesome place ...extremely honest, knowledgeable. Tim took care of my build from start to finish. Machining slide installation done. Awesome prices as well. I know now where to go to get all my stuff!!! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
6 months in to cerakote a small Yeti cup. I only called twice within that 6 month period, and each time was told I would be contacted within a week. Still dont have the cup, and dont know the status of it.
I left my LTT PX4 for a rush order on Friday and (for a reasonable fee) got it back on Saturday. The finish quality is immaculate. It looks absolutely factory.I asked for them to take some extra time installing the new irons sights I left with the gun. This thing is shooting one ragged hole right on the bullseye at 10 yards. Better alignment is not possible.Great job, guys. I’ll be back.
Amazing customer service, knowledgeable staff and they do great work!
Tim runs a great company and does things right. He Cerakoted an AR-15 for me and it turned out great.
Amazing workmanship
I have had the opportunity to see behind the scenes of this company. They not only build some of the nicest stuff I have seen but take pride in everything they do. Look forward to see what they do in the future. Hopefully I will do another project soon and trust me they will be the first I call.
Wide selection and customization that is second to none. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and always helpful. Cerakoters is a must for the enthusiast. Ask for Johnny he’ll take care of you. Guaranteed. 5⭐️
I wanted a custom cerakote job that related to the Game of Thrones, and that is exactly what I got. The staff was great with helping me visualize what I wanted. I also asked them to customize a yeti for one of my clients and they did an AMAZING job! I will definitely continue to go back to them whenever I need anything customized with Cerakote.
Jonathan and the guys at Cerakoters do an amazing job. I have many friends that also love their work. Highly recommend.
These guys are really good at what they do. I couldn’t be more pleased. The price was fair and the work was done in the time frame that was agreed upon. Highly recommended. AAAA+++

Great customer service and even greater custom guns! Great staff & very helpful & informative. Will be back for sure.
This is what a Gun Smith store should be. Very friendly, knowledgeable. veteran Owed as well. I unexpectedly bought some suppressor sights and they offered to install them on my Glock that same second. Its the little things like that, that would keep me as a customer. Most gun shops would have told you to leave the gun for installation. They proudly showed us around and featured cerakote projects they had worked on. Plus all their work is the best Ive seen in Houston
This place has done 3 pistols for us. And J man is a big supporter of our veterans. 👍👍 Two big thumbs up
Great establishment with a huge range of customization. Love this place! Fully recommended!
Cerakoters has surpassed my level of expectation in every form. From the moment you talk to them you know they operate on integrity and quality. I have been in many times for several different things. They sourced and installed some hard to find items and cerakoted a few items for me. The work performed was AMAZING! If you need a part or coating done I do not think they would ever say no they cant find it or no they cant do it. Go see them and see the difference between other shops like this.
Top class establishment with wide range of customization. The customer service and knowledge of the product is the best in the industry. Will purchase again.
Always great service very friendly and knowledgeable staff they take care of me with gusto everytime I would into the door!
Great bunch of people to work with. Ive had them stipple, cerakote, clean, and ship (a very big headache) firearms. A true one stop shop. The first time I was there I sat down with the owner of the shop for a good 30 minutes looking for the right cerakote pattern. Their top notch customer service will keep me coming back.
They did transfer for me few times, friendly staff, high recommend this place . Will see ya soon
Good Gunsmithing work
An awesome company with awesome people. Took care of me when my glock misfired. Cant say enough admitt this place. Definitely will be back.
Literally the WORST company I have ever personally dealt with! It took OVER ONE YEAR from the time I dropped off my shotgun to get coated and being able to pick it up (The ONLY thing Ill say in their defense is that it took ~3-4mo to get new stocks in from Benelli... but seriously... it took another 8mo to coat?!)If you notice... all of the great reviews stop right around when the original company was sold! When I originally dropped it off, I spoke with a great guy that really knew his stuff and had created the pattern I was going with. Long story short, that company got sold and the entire original crew left. From that point on, it was a complete nightmare. I would call in month after month, and every single time, I received some run-around of why it wasnt completed (see list below of the different excuses from the owner). According to the owner, it had already been stripped and had the base coat on, otherwise I would have picked it up then. All in all, they couldnt do it, so they actually had to send it to someone else to get done. FINALLY, OVER A YEAR LATER I GO TO PICK UP MY GUN... they didnt even coat some extra components (bolt, counterweight, bolt release, choke) I originally paid for AND was missing some Briley parts I had originally installed on there.Excuses form the owner why it took a year:1.) The original company sold and they were going to be able to do a pattern 95% similar - Id say they only got the finished product about 20% similar2.) The new guy they had working on my gun was working on it3.) The new guy they had working on it left the company (2 people leaving this company at this point4.) A very experienced guy was now working on it and would have it done in a week5.) The very experienced guy was in a car crash - agreed to wait until this guy came back to work to finish it6.) The experienced guy from the car crash left the company (3 people have now left the company)7.) Had someone else working on it now - not sure how its going to work8.) From the owner - The pattern didnt come out like we wanted on a test piece so they had sent it to another shop in Witchita Falls, TX - should have it back in a week or two9.) The subcontracted shop was now having issues and were forced to make the patterns from vinyl - taking another month10.) Month later - Theyre almost done at the subcontractor11.) 3 weeks later - They have a few more coats left to go12.) 2 weeks later - Its all done and theyll have it shopped tomorrow13.) 2 weeks later - Called in and it just shipped from the subcontractor14.) 2 weeks later - they finally assembled it and I can FINALLY pick it up.DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE!! Im now out 550$ on a $2.5k gun that I would have been better off having my 4yr old neice spray paint with Rustoleum.
Awesome work and attention to detail. Would highly recommend any day of the week.
They can make magic happen if it 8s possible they can do it cant wait to bring in my next project the 4.5 xdm40.
Very professional and attentive to customer service. Highly recommend.
I recently bought a HK-416, with several rails and attachments. I am very happy with the weapon, and it shoots very well. Being in the Texas heat makes a black weapon like I purchased hot, and hard to handle. After shopping around, I found Cerakoters had good reviews and extremely fair prices. I took my weapon to them and they applied an even, blemish free desert tan finish, with some brown and OD highlights. In the scrub of South Texas, or in the Sandbox, the weapon is perfect, lo-vis and not as hot to the touch. Great work!
Cerakoters makes the sweetest looking firearms around!Make sure to check them out!
Youre getting 5 Stars...because frankly...Thats all they would allow...Im a 100% Service Connected Disabled Vet..(and an Avid Gun Collector)....Ive had a series of 10 surgeries through the years on my right leg alone...Following a severe injury, in 2011,....and the resulting surgery...I spent approximately one year in a wheelchair...This past August I was scheduled to go back into the VA hospital for a follow up surgery, and frankly...I was more freaked out to the aspect of going back into the wheelchair, then i was to the surgery itself...I had stopped in to visit my buddy Steven Metcalf at Cerakoters, a few days prior to going into the hospital.and he had introduced me to Jonathan Weisman...After a few minutes of greetings, Jonathan knew I was going into the hospital...and wanted to see this wheelchair that I was going to be using...He had Steven pull it out of my truck, and said...there ought to be something we can do to Fix It Up ...Over the next few days, and While I was in the VA Hospital;...Steven and the gang Used Air Force colors. to paint the chair...additionally they put Sgt Don Galloway on each side, my years of service...and USAF...they had all of this ready by the time i was discharged from the hospital...For me...there truly are no words to express my feelings, for what they did for me...or the Honor that simple act showed....Today...Im out of that wheel chair...actually i forced myself to get up and walk...shortly after the surgery...Regardless of my next steps...today I can say...the wheel chair isnt near as intimidating as it has been in the past!!!And Im Honored to say...Cerakoters made this possible...Bring your guns in, your knives...your cases..hell...Bring in your wheel chairs...and let these young men...change your lives...Thank Guys...Really appreciate what youve done...and what youre doing...Sgt Don GallowayU.S.A.F.
