Only my second visit to this place. I had the walleye special. The waitress took special care of my table. Amazingly large portions and and wonderfully prepared! This is a good value. I will be coming back for sure.

The breakfast was good but typical. Prices were good. I sat at the counter and the staff conducted their business right there in front of me.. Probably not appropriate. I dont need to know the inner workings of your scheduling issues. Take that behind the scenes.

Ive made this a regular lunch place for the last 4 years. Takeout has always been fantastic, very clean, good food, and great staff. The staff didnt take long at all to recognize me which was pretty cool. Glad to have a brunch place like this in downtown Howell.

Prior to Covid19 we ate here many times. Today was our first visit after changes.I appreciate that they are trying, but to wear a shield without a mask does not keep the waitresses mouth and nose germs from hitting our food, or the table or anything below her chin level. The mask would do that. Which is what the mask is for. To protect others. The face guard is to protect you from other peoples fluids getting into your eyes. This did not help our waitress as her mask had been cut open to accommodate her glasses. She should have worn just a mask or nothing.They just need education.
My favorite breakfast place hands down! The ladies that work here are always so nice, super quick, my drink is NEVER empty, coffee is always hot and fresh. Their portions for the price is beyond expectations.

My elderly parents, who ate there daily, were rudely refused seating when the restaurant was bare. Apparently, a group was expected, but communication delivery is everything..,and this place lost loyal customer for their poor style.

They gave us candies and a delicious desert although I asked for extra bacon and they put one strip of bacon on my burger
Even at their busiest time, line out the door, craziness, these servers, and cooks have it together. Best breakfast around. You cant beat the price and portions. Weve never had an issue or a bad meal. The only thing (they cant help) is when they are busy, and you are waiting for a table it gets a little awkward standing around. You cant help but hover around a few tables by the door. Everyone eating understands tho! Totally worth it!

A year ago I wrote: Cheap and delicious. Staff is fantastic.Post-COVID: got there, discovered my kid took my mask. Went in with the intention of buying one until they tried charging $5 for one disposable mask. All tables still open without socially distancing, like required. Agreed with the other post about face shields. Called to state my feelings about them taking advantage of people and the waitress started arguing and talking over me. She didnt have the respect to hear what I had to say. Im not going back based on principle alone.
The corned beef hash is not corned beef hash, its loaded hashbrowns. The corned beef is actually cut up ham. The burgers are fine but not very flavorful and very messy as onions kept falling out. The staff is friendly though.

One of my favorite breakfast spots. The omelettes are awesome, and prices are great. Service is quick, but you will wait 15-30minutes on a Sunday morning.
Small diner. Kind of what you expect from a diner. The food was good but it took over 45 minutes to get our breakfast plates to the table.The best thing about this place was their real not previously cooked bacon. Worth going just dont bring large groups, seating is more intimate maximum booth can fit maybe 8.

The food is great! I recommend the all you can eat fish dinner which is to die for. The ladies are always so sweet, talkative, and attentive. I really suggest going here for a nice, comfy sit down breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Good prices and good food. Its a regular favorite for breakfast. The biscuits and gravy are awesome. However, I have never had a bad experience with any of my food there. Its definitely a small town restaurant but its a local favorite for many in the area
This is one of those places where you either love it or hate it. For a greasy spoon/family diner i like it. Decent portions. Real food. Decent quality. Great service and great price. You could do alot worse.

Service was fantastic and the food was great. Location was quaint, if a bit untidy, but aesthetics aside our dinner was awesome. Kids were a bit rowdy but the staff was very patient and courteous. Cost was fine, even a bit on the cheaper side, but that didnt detract from the quality of our meals, which was excellent.
Walked and got a table, didnt have to wait. I had the breakfast burrito thats covered in sausage gravy. Wasnt as good as dads homemade stuff but good enough for 5 stars. Portion was huge as well. Very happy with visit.

Stopped in at dinnertime and ordered breakfast. I saw they had an order of Pancakes for $3.99 and two eggs potatoes and toast was $2.99 so I thought that would be a lot of food for seven bucks. Upon ordering the waitress asked me if I was sure I want a full order of Pancakes because there were seven or eight in an order and talked me into getting a half order. I am glad she did because that was more than enough. The waitress also said their omelettes were good and my company order an omelette and agreed that the Omelettes are awesome.
Our go to breakfast place. Staff are always quick and welcoming. Food always comes out fast and is very good. Weve met so many nice customers there as well. Great hometown feel.

Came here for the first time and have lived in Howell for 10 years. It was absolutely amazing β€οΈ I ordered the buffalo chicken salad! My husband ordered a club sandwich with french fries. Our waitress was very friendly and came back to check on us often. I will for sure go back and have that salad again.

I love this place. The kind of place where you feel like a regular. The breakfast specials are incredible and very affordable. The dinner specials are awesome, and they usually have a home made desert. The owners Old World style of cooking assures I always get a large portion of homemade fresh food and usually I finish it all. The owners come out routinely, if they arent busy cooking, and greet the quest. I go to Sunrise Family Dinner more than all the Other restaurants in Howell combined. I love the food the staff and that hometown local feel of Sunrise Family Dinner. Thats why they are the first place on the list when its time to go out for food!
I used to come here once a week when I lived in Howell. I moved in January and have only been able to come back twice since then. And unfortunately we wonβt be back. Both times weβve almost walked out because no one had come to our table for 15 minutes to take our order, and the place wasnβt busy. We were never asked how our food was after it was eventually delivered. Then after we finished eating we sit around for 20 minutes waiting for a waitress to bring our check, until this last time where we just decided to get up and try and find her so we could leave. Iβm sure what happened since I moved away but again we will not be back because of the terrible service.

French onion soup... it was onion soup not french onion. If you wanted the cheese on it that would be $1.45 more. The food was greasy and made me sick. 3 out of 4 said we would not go back. My husband got chicken fried steak and it was a sad grey pice of meat.
