My two sons have been taking lessons at Western Reserve Music for over four years. Weve changed instruments MULTIPLE times and our teachers have been able to adapt and keep the relationship going. Weve even had two instruments per kid for the last couple of years. The teachers are very friendly and good with my kids. The rental process has been super easy and Ive had to go through several instruments - cello, violas, and trumpet (all accruing so eventually theyll get to keep the instrument they finally stick with). And during COVID, the quick switch to Zoom lessons was super helpful.

Andy Flanagan does a fantastic job with percussion lessons! My son has taken lessons with him for many years and has always felt comfortable, confident, and happy during the lessons. He has grown so much as a musician!

Rude, rude, rude! I wouldnt buy a string from this guy. Even another customer that was in the store with me commented on how rudely I was treated. Thankfully, that customer recommended another shop to me. What a horrible experience and complete waste of time. Id give zero stars if I was able.

I made the mistake of renting a violin from here. The $25 a month fee plus $4 insurance brought my obligation to $30 a month which was a little higher than other companies but it was close to home so I willing to pay extra for the convenience factor. When we got the instrument home I googled the brand and model of the violin to get more information about how to care for it. I discovered that the violin could be purchased on Amazon new for $89.I returned immediately and we went elsewhere to rent a quality instrument.

During this pandemic shutdown, the team at Western Reserve Music was very helpful! On Friday, I broke a string on my guitar. Sean and Haley were very happy to open the store, take my credit card payment over the phone, and provide curbside delivery. We are so luck to have them here in Downtown Hudson!

I have had any number of terrible experiences here. The first, I bought a standard set of Martin acoustic guitar strings (~$6 anywhere forever & ever) they charged me something like $12, pretty much double the cost of anywhere else. I did call them on it and they tried to act like they were some special new strings (they werent). The next time, I asked for a set of 12 string acoustics. They gave me Vinci brand(?) which nobody has ever heard of. However, the set was pieced together, incomplete, and incorrect. There was literally a human hair intertwined with one of the strings. I was buying them to use the guitar that night, which I then couldnt, seeing as how it wasnt a set of strings. I returned and explained the situation, they said I had to come back when the owner was there. Turns out every set of these ghetto brand strings was incorrect and pieced together. As a result, he gave me a replacement ELECTRIC guitar string for my 12 string acoustic. Three strikes of mega-failure; sorry guys but just go somewhere else if you actually want something done correctly.

Extraordinary quality and workmanship on a recent project. I took two distressed Martin rescue guitars that I was rebuilding and had hit my limit of competence. I took them in to Western Reserve in Hudson for neck and bridge setting and final assembly. What I got back was breathtaking in quality and playability. I will take other guitars to them with complete confidence. Their luthier is a fully qualified and very gifted individual with not only the knowledge and ability, but with talent for building guitars. They were open and communicative through the entire process. When they found out some mistakes I had made, they contacted me and explained the need for extra work and time, which I agreed to, and I am completely happy with their communication and workmanship, and the final results are a true joy. They saved my project.

Despite the ticked off folks who have reviewed this place, I do find them to do a very good job at a fair price; especially with so many variables in electronics & brands. I would recommend them as theyre friendly, prompt, and do a pretty good job.

Terrible place. Whenever either my school or myself send instruments there to be fixed, they come back even more broken than before. Bad service also. Edit (For Sean)- Oboe, French horn, violin, cello, baritone, etc.

Horrible, horrible service. They may be convenient, but dont be fooled...the service and attention to customers are horrible.First of all, our 30 min guitar lessons for our 2 boys would typically start 10 minutes late, and the n finish 5-10 minutes early, so the instructors could stand around and talk to each other. VERY unprofesional, and we paid for a lot of 30 minutes lessons that lasted 10-15 minutes.2nd, we cancelled our music lessons for our 2 boys in Sept. 2012, due to this unprofessional behavior. They continued billing us for 2 months, and to this day have refused to credit back our CC. We are having to dispute it through the Credit card company. They could care less at this place.Do yourself a favor, and save yourself the stress...go to DeMarcos music on the other side of Hudson.

Left my grandfathers guitar there with my name & ph. no. and asked them to call me about it and to recommend a case. They never called & I forgot about it. I showed up a few months later (yeah bad on me) and asked for it. Owner Shaun (?sp) was defensive and very arrogant. Said he had no knowlege of the guitar. Said the store would have called which they didnt. I checked with a neighbor who had a bad experience and said they are bad about calling back. One lesson an instructor didnt show and someone ended up filling up the time by clapping hands in time with the students.Would not recommend this place. My fault for leaving a sentimental instrument and hard lesson learned.

Was super rude to the girl I babysit. She is 12 years old and they were giving her the nastiest tone and responses when all she asked was for them to help fix her instrument. I was in shock.
