I received terrible care here. The doctor did not perform the tests that were requested on my referral form. Handed me a script and billed me for procedures that were never performed. Do not see Benjamin Kramer. They told me he had neurology experience but I dont believe so. He wouldnt even talk to me. Staff did not reply to my email. They do not return calls.

Would not recommend. Front Desk personnel were ok. Was greatly disappointed with Dr. Kramers staff. His assistants were unfriendly, impatient, rough with children and incompassionate. I recommend that they all receive training in handling anxious and fearful children. Dr. Kramer did not greet us when he entered the room and his assistant did not speak at all. I gave two stars because Dr.Kramer did show an improved disposition before the visit was over.

Horrible experience! First, and what I wanted to be my last, visit to Horizon. I saw S. Heather Bell. A licensed practitioner. She allowed a tech to do my eye exam. An experience I’ve NEVER encountered in the 32 years I’ve worn corrective lenses. Moreover, as a new patient, I expected a licensed professional would have conducted my exam, but not when I saw Bell. A result of this visit, my new eyeglass prescription is totally wrong. Now, since Horizon had billed my insurance for the visit I will need to go back to Horizon to fix the prescription. I’m going to try another licensed physician in the practice. I hope to encounter one that does not abdicate his/ her professional responsibility to a high school graduate. No offense to high school graduates or to that tech (she was nice) but I pay insurance premiums to see a professionally trained, certified licensed eye physician. Sharing my experience in case you’re seeking a great patient experience and would like to trust your vision to a licensed practitioner that will do his/her own eye exams.

Been going here for years with my kids. Over the last year they have gone downhill dramatically. When you have an optical question no one ever answers the phone or returns the call. And if you order new ones be prepared to wait weeks for glasses. Ive always liked the doctors here but due to the optical department I will have to look for a new place to go that actually answers the phone or returns calls.

Ridiculous wait times. We love Dr. Bell, but will not be returning any longer due to the insane amount of time spent waiting. This place has the worst management ever. All the reviews talking about spending a half day for an eye exam are 100 correct. Last two times we were there, took about 3 hours for routine eye exams. There are plenty of other places in the area who respect peoples time.

My mother has been a patient at Horizon Eye Care since February. She was diagnosed with scleritis, and since then her doctor has given her smaller and higher doses of steroids without monitoring her progress over time to see what dose actually works best. After her last appointment, Dr. Rouse called my moms rheumatologist and recommended a drug that is not FDA approved for scleritis. After dragging this out for months, my mothers eyes have gotten worse without any end in sight. We will be taking her elsewhere but please think twice when making an appointment here.

I am not a patient of DR. HUNTER STOLLDORF of HORIZON EYE CARE in Mooresville, NC but had an eye emergency over the weekend and my dr referred me to him since she was out of town. Dr Hunter responded to my message immediately and agreed to meet me within the hour. I had a object stuck under my eyelid and cant imagine having to wait 24 hours to be seen. I cant thank Dr Hunter enough for his care and would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone looking for a great and caring dr. I wish all doctors cared this much

The waiting time is ridiculously long and it seems you schedule multiple people for the same time slot and keep them waiting for intervals of 30 to 40 minutes at a time, until all the doctor will be right with you waits end up amounting to 3 hours. The staff is very polite and friendly, and I appreciate their customer service, so I have no complaints there. However it seems very disrespectful that we cannot be seen by the doctor if we are 15 minutes late yet end up in the waiting room for hours. It is a money hungry move on their part, driven by a prioritization of profit over the actual well being of the patients. I do appreciate all the help and care provided by this facility, but I would just like to make it clear that the wait times are offensive and I am not the only one who thinks so. I know my opinion is shared by others, having heard so in conversations at the waiting lobby (where I had plenty of time to do so).

It’s extremely frustrating to make your patients wait a minimum of 45 minutes just to see the doctor and then have it dragged out another 2+ hour’s for exams. Will not be recommending Horizon Eye Care. Disrespectful of their clients time. Find a more efficient system.

I have had nothing but a great experience with Dr. Kramer and the staff at Horizon Eye Care. The staff at the office in Huntersville specifically was very courteous and professional from the time I made the appointment to the time I checked out. We were seen on time, which is very appreciated when you have an anxious toddler with you awaiting in the lobby!I highly recommend Dr. Kramer. Not only he was great with my 2 year old son and helped him feel very comfortable throughout his very first eye exam, but he also consistently answered all my questions.I am confident that Dr. Kramer will be our eye doctor for years!

While traveling out of state I experienced an eye related emergency. Horizon Eye Care was my first choice based on location and Google reviews. Finding them was truly a blessing. I not only received superlative care during my crisis I was cared for well after I returned home. My surgeon called me each week for two weeks to ensure that I was receiving care back home. Their financial team took care of me when Anthem tried to deny my claims due to the emergency visit while traveling. The doctors, nurses and staff were professional, compassionate and caring. I highly recommend Horizon Eye in the Charlotte, NC area.

Dr stein was wonderful. Explained everything that was done and needed to be done with Cataract surgery. I did not give more stars because the wait time to see techs and DR. Were so long anywhere from 45 min to an hour. I can understand the wait time if an emergency comes up but each time in the waiting room is to long. The scheduling needs to be worked on.

I can second the other reviewers. Very disrespectful of your time. And they make you go to another office 30 minutes away because the doctor is only at certain locations on certain days.

I will be finding another Opthomologist. While I like the doctor that I have seen, I have had nothing but horrible experiences with multiple members of the office staff. There is one woman who works the check in counter that should be working on a job with ZERO customer interaction because she is RUDE every single time I come to that office. They are NEVER on time and make no apology for it. When I told them that I could not wait any longer for my appointment, they told me I’d be charged as a no show. Really? I’ve waited over an hour for you and I’m still sitting the lobby and you’re going to charge me for that??? How about no!!!

Dr. Kramers office gets two stars. One goes to his friendly receptionist and one to his friendly and professional medical tech. I cant rate Dr. Kramer because I never saw him. I was literally put in a room for 80 minutes and left there alone. No magazine, no one to check on me, nothing. Then, they moved me to Dr. Kramers office where he was ready to see me. Nope! I waited there for another 30 minutes. Total wait time in an office by myself: Well over an hour and a half. I was a family therapist in private practice for 28 years (recently retired) and I would NEVER treat a patient like this. First, Dr. Kramer treats patients who have serious eye disease/issues. Naturally, I was feeling some anxiety. Obviously it is POLICY to not care how long patients wait because you can read the other reviews and see, if you want to see Dr. Kramer, bring War and Peace. Patients, your time is important. An hour for a busy doctor and more if there is an emergency, excessive but understandable. Two -three hours, the doc is overbooking and as my 88 yr. old Father says, money-grabbing. Shame on you, Dr. Kramer. Take our oath seriously, Physician, do no harm!

Horrible experience after waiting an hour after my appointment time and still was not seen by the doctor. I had to leave without being seen by the doctor and seems like they didnt have a care in the world. It bothers me that they have a rule if your late pass 15 mins you have to reschedule but they dont show the same respect to their patients. Peoples time is valuable especially when they make arrangements to take time off of work and school to get an appointment in. Long story short be prepared to wait way pass your appointment time if you go to this office. Thankfully they are willing to reschedule an appointment on a day that works for me however its still time I wasted that I could be doing better things.

I gave this place one star because I had to select something to leave a review. This place sucks. Wait time is horrible. Dr Rouse especially is rude, short, does not pay attention to what you say, no regards to prior medical history and arrogant. Do not waste your time. I left there feeling totally angry and that I did not receive adequate care. He had the nerve to try to make me feel bad for a pre-existing condition. Never again.

Customer service is awful. Scheduling is all over the place. One minute they have 10 appointments this week, the next they are booked two months out. Dr. Syracuse is great. I had him do my cataract surgery and I dont think it gets much better.BUT their billing department is a pain. I received a threatening letter 3 weeks after the first check was cashed. I had to call in to find out that the account was clear, but Im still concerned about my credit. If I wrote a check a week later, I can only imagine theyd send creditors to me to collect on an already cashed check.

Great experience with the provider, but the billing office here is totally inept. If you have the opportunity to deal with them on the basic issue of insurance reimbursement for refractive services be fully prepared for an experience as painful as going to the dmv.

Dr. Biber evidently doesnt read patient charts. My husband was referred to Dr. Biber, from the Horizon Eye Care in Mooresville, for an assessment for an old eye injury. My husband had just had a vision exam at their Mooresville office within the last three months and was seeing Dr. Biber for an assessment that had nothing to do with a prescription for glasses. I talked to the office/billing staff and was told that he would not remove the charge. In addition my husband was not told that they were doing an exam for glasses, so I wonder if they really did the exam.
