This is always a fun place to go and burn some time. We generally look for The Office Funko or some cheap books for our daughters. We all have fun looking around at all of the neat toys, cards and books. Its like a walk back in time to get to see so many things that we grew up enjoying and sometimes we splurge and get ourselves something just because we felt like it! If youre in the area and you grew up in the 80s or 90s, definitely swing by and check this place out!

My family of five and I had a blast in this store! It has so much to offer in the way of books and general nostalgia. Huge boxes of mystery books for $3 each and $1 bag fill up! Free comic books as well. Will def return.

Very interesting store! We were in town for our anniversary and stopped in to look. Records, comics, books, and collectibles. It was really cool!

It’s the best shop in the area. Came down for a Power Rangers signing, and back for Huntington Comic Con. Huge place. Lots of variety. Best selection of vintage toys in the state. Way more books than I expected. Family friendly. Fantastic area just full of kids stuff.

I had the chance to visit this store a few times during my stay in Huntington. It was a great experience to check out some of the things they had, like comics, action figures, lots of books, funko pops, etc. The detailing in the action figures was extremely good. The store had a large collection of comics, old and new. They also had a section of comics priced at a dollar. I picked up some from it. There were so many books from different genres available at the store. There were reading spaces to chill and have a great time reading your favorite book. The store has a friendly atmosphere. Everyone working at the store is a fan of something and, its easy to strike a conversation with people here. I wish I had stores like these in my place. This store is a treat if youre a pop culture fan!

Our go-to bookstore when visiting Huntington WV! Excellent selection of vintage and new sci-fi collectibles, includes Babylon 5 figurines and CDs! Extensive graphic novel and periodical selection, used books, and kids books and toys.

Really cool place. They sell comics, books, magazines, board games, funko pop, t-shirts, Harry Potter, D&D, Game of Thrones, action figures, etc. You can even do a layaway. They also have a life size Tardis, Dalek, R2-D2, Darth Vader. No public restroom available.

Such a difference. First time that Ive been there and it was great. Had everything I needed or would want. Found a great gift for a friend.

I love being able to go browse through both comic books and regular books. Not to mention all the other odds n ends they have, toys, games, etc. The staff has always been friendly and the place is well kept. The only thing I wish they did differently is bag-n-board your comics for free like The Inner Geek in Ashland does.

The place is awesome for collectibles and older comics but it seems like every time I get new comics there on Wednesday’s and get home to board and bag them the comics almost look water damaged at the top. I have to press them every time to get he waves out of them and sometimes they still won’t flatten out fully. Pretty sure it’s because the store is so hot inside. The water leak up front doesn’t help either. Could also be a storage issue who knows but I’m set not getting new comics there anymore.

Very nice. Great location, helpful and friendly sales associates, amazing selection. What more could you want from independent book store? My reply to that rhetorical question is rare/1st edition books. Thus 4 stars.

I dont like how the store is set up. It was different last time and easy to find books. I couldnt even find the genre I was looking for. I will not go back because I cant find what I am looking for. Redo the store the way up used to be. It was a whole lot easier to find the title you want.

I loved this store! I am not from Huntington anymore and recently was visiting because of a doctors appointment and decided to check Empire out and although I am a book nerd they have other things as well. I like how they have things organized and feature WV Authors.

The staff is full of life and energy. In addition to the great customer service, I found amazing deals- comics my husband enjoys reading for $1. Kudos Kelle and Brooke for awesome customer service

Wonderful book and magazine selection. Neat local selection. Occasional live music and readers. Lots of used book options (my favorite). If its warm, theyll pull out a couple carts of $.99 options. Some decent treasures to be found at times.

Love this store! Always has comics/trade paperbacks, collectibles, and licensed merchandise that I cant find elsewhere.

I love bookstores, and the major plus to this one for me is that if a book is out of your price range, they may have a used copy for cheap if youre lucky. They have a decent selection for a smallish store, everything seems nicely organized, and Ive always encountered friendly staff.

It its growing to be pretty awesome. They have places for people to sit and are starting to cater to roll top games. I have even seen some kids be there playing D&D. Only real concern is no restrooms to public. There are some near the bank, but are closed at times. If they had restrooms I would be interested in assisting players experience D&D, either league or homebrew. Go check it out, but be sure you dont need a restroom.

Though I do love to come here from time to time, Ive honestly have become kinda leery of this place. Could it be from their lack of customer service or the smell of alcohol on one of the workers up front. Plus, if youre going to sell comics, perhaps put someone in the back that can sell some! Thats what the experience is about. Plus, lay away. Most comic joints do it anymore. I feel like some of their items are over priced too. By all-in-all, its a nice place by the movie theater; but Id rather go elsewhere to by books and for sure my comics.

Its says Books but Id consider it a comic book/merch store. Yes there are books/magazines but feel comic book stuff outnumbers it. Theres old mint condition action figures and statues. Old gaming arcade games.

Some things was over priced and they didnt have the biggest selection of good graphic novels. They do have used books at a good price and lots of other things to look at or buy.

Now the Inner Geek, it has a wide range of comic books, games, as well as fiction and non-fiction. I love the new store!

Staff were kind and extremely helpful. Had so many differant things to look at and that we were interested in.

2 years, 5 states and 13 bookstores later and I finally found the book Ive been looking for! Soooo many great options at this store!!

Its an amazing book store where you can practically fet anything. They often has sales where they books from libraries and then sell the books for $1 each. They also host a series of events including a event where local writers can come read their work.

Love this store! The Inner Geek now. No longer Empire.

Nice location, the remodel took out a lot of books. In its place it added a larger comic book section . Staff is helpful and thats always a plus.

I always stop by about every couple weeks when Im at Pullman with friends. The staff is always wonderful and very professional. Kelle, Nathan, and Manda in particular were incredibly helpful and engaging. They also actually seem to care about their job unlike some of the employees who work at bigger, franchised bookstores (Yes, Im @-ing you, BAM employee that didnt know who Harper Lee was or where I could find Go Set a Watchman😒). ANYWAY, the bookshelves are well-organized and usually have quite a few cheap, used copies of classic books (which is right up my alley). Their displays are always very well-done and look like something youd find in bigger city bookstores. Overall a fantastic local bookstore. Highly recommend.
