Charming, picturesque location with an upgraded interior and menu.

I’m truly mixed on this review and I’ll tell you why. The food was excellent, the wine was superb, our waitress was just cordial enough, definitely not stellar service! We saw that she had it in her, just not towards us for some reason. At one point I told her the kind of wine I liked, she said she had one, I actually did like it. When I asked her the name, she refused to tell me. I found this very odd as a place that serves wine.Then she actually either left shift or went on break and a man started helping us, he told me the name of the wine, but gave us the bums rush by bringing a tablet out with it bill on it (not itemized mind you) when we hadn’t even asked for it. I guess they felt it was time for us to leave. We spent about $150 (at least that’s what was shown to us) between food and drinks also still left a good tip, but I fear we may not be back.

The atmosphere, food and service are the reasons that this place will succeed in Huntsville. Jason was our server and he was very attentive and gave us great recommendations. We really appreciate your great service Jason .

I loved Domaine South! We were able to sit outdoors. It wasnt super hot, but the sun was out, so the shaded table was nice and the small fan a great touch. We ordered the grilled cheese with the soup of the day (asparagus soup). Im not an asparagus fan, but figured Id give it a whirl. Im glad I did! Both soup and sandwich were DELICIOUS! The service was great! The server was VERY attentive - we didnt have to send out a search party even one time. I also liked that she was able to ring us up right at the table. I have a birthday coming up and Im thinking about eating here instead of the original plan. Whatever I decide, Ill definitely return again.

This place is great and building your own board from there rotating menu was pretty fun. The waiter we had was very knowledgeable and explained the options very well. You can even sample the wine before you get a glass. We will definitely be back.

Visited spring 2021Great food, great atmosphere, and pretty good service. This place is a wine bar, but can also do dinner or snacks. They have all the usual wine food, plus a little more. The staff was helpful, friendly, and attentive.They have outdoor seating thats perfect people watching, but also have some indoor seating for bad weather. While Im no wine expert, their selection seems pretty good in quality and quantity. Would go again.

A very nice, quaint Gem, in downtown Huntsville! The atmosphere is cozy, the service is great. The food is very good. For starters we the ala carte charcuterie of Deviled Eggs, Feta stuffed olives and Mt. Tam cheese! Everything on this board was fantastic. My wife had the Sour dough grilled cheese and soup of the day. The grilled havarti, mozzarella, and white cheddar on the fresh sour dough was exquisite. But the turbo and scallop chowder was the best chowder ever! For real....frekkin AMAZING. I had the Beef Bourguignon, braised short rib. The broth was great, the carrots were fantastic, but the short rib chunks were dry...yes dry. If they were shredded more and there were more mushrooms it would have been a perfect 5 stars.

Great concept executed excellently. Such a knowledgeable staff that will help with the selection of cheeses, meats, and other accoutrement to make for a perfect afternoon. Somehow we ended up with way too much rind on our board and in a heartbeat they replaced it with a perfect slice.

Great little spot in downtown. Had the duck and hot, pepper jam and some delicious rosemary rind cheese. Got to love the vibe and Hedi was a great server. Recommend the goat cheese cake for dessert.

Stopped in passing with wife and toddler sons. Startled me level of service and food. Ordered to go perfectly plated. Buffalo mozzarella only had it once before in Italy hard to find in states. Salad roasted radish incredible. Great

My wife and I love this place. Great location on the square with a wide selection of wine and charcuterie for a surprisingly reasonable cost. The owner and employees are always quick to help you if you arent a connoisseur (as I certainly am not). Highly recommend.

If you haven’t been to Domaine South yet, you are missing out! I went over the weekend with family for brunch and was not disappointed. Johnathan answered all of our questions about the different dishes and all of our choices were equally delicious - you really can’t make a bad choice here. Will definitely be back for wine another day!

Domaine South is delightful. A relatively simple menu focused on high-end cheeses, meats, and charcuterie accouterments as well as some sandwiches. I enjoyed a fantastic goat cheese platter with fruit and nuts, along with delicious tomato and red pepper soup. Definitely recommend!

Excellent drinks selection, great service, a variety of meats, cheeses, and light dinner/lunch fair. Always packed for a good reason and well worth a visit. I have celiac and their gluten free options are amazing and no one at the table feels deprived when we keep it all celiac safe which is a big deal to me!

Its a tiny restaurant packed with surprises. Despite the interiors restroom is must visit. I admire the thought that went into designing this place.I tried the Ricotta, it has to be one of the best dishes I have ever tried. It might be enough in quantity but sure enough with the quality. Must try

Everyone here is wonderful. Their menu is one of a kind. They care deeply about the health and safety of their staff and guests and that shows. Great selection of unique wines.

I loved everything about this restaurant. From the staff, to the service, to the most amazing food. I had the Deviled Eggs for a starter and the Smoked Salmon & Avocado for my dish. Oh my Southern goodness! I highly recommend Domaine South!!! Everything is nice.

We had a wonderful night on the patio last night. Great wine. Great food. Great service. Heidi was awesome. The staff made the extra effort to keep everyone safe.

Everything about this spot is outstanding. Ambience, service, charcuterie boards, entrees, and WINE. Plan ahead and make a reservation when you want to visit because it is always full in the smallish dining room. Sidewalk tables were full too when I went on a hot September evening. Yes it is pricey but in my opinion worth the cost. Try it, youll love it!

Had an absolutely amazing time here. What a treasure. We did not have a reservation, but we went early in the day and it was not a issue. Told the server what we wanted to spend and to build us a cheese and charcuterie. It was perfect!! We then ordered more! The wine and champagne accompanied it perfectly.

This is quickly becoming our very favorite restaurant in town. The food is fabulous, but I love the inclusive, easy atmosphere. I feel like Im in a cafe in France while on the West Side of the Square in downtown Huntsville. As a Huntsville native, I am so excited to see a restaurant like this thriving in our city. Probably one of the most delightful cuisine experience Ive ever had.Its a small place but the food is outstanding.We were there at lunch and they happy hour, with $5 glass select wines/beer. I had a syrah blend.The food- exquisite.I had BLT:DS, with a salad, no words at how good that was. ♥️♥️My DH had roast beef and that was just as phenomenal.♥️♥️We tried dessert- the best tiramisu Ive ever had-- creamy with a citrus whipped cream. If I wasnt in public or have licked the plate. ♥️♥️Highly recommend! Go if you can. A wonderful, charming, casual place with the best food! We will go back.

Fabulous service, the charcuterie board was AMAZING. I would not recommend for depth of menu options, but the charcuterie, wine, bread, and sandwiches are fabulous. Our server was so accommodating, just enough attention without being bothersome.

WOW loved my late lunch here. Made happy hour for wine, they answered all my questions and helped guide me to a wine I would like and they did it successfully! Their sandwiches are not to be missed!

Simply the best restaurant in Huntsville for food and atmosphere, wine events, and wine purchases (and amazing recommendations!). Sitting at their bar is my favorite thing in Huntsville. Can’t wait to go again post-covid! I’m the meantime, I will continue to use and appreciate their curbside service.

There’s a reason it is hard to get a table at Domaine South—it serves up some of the best food and wine in Huntsville right now! We tried the baguette, deviled eggs, and a charcuterie board with fig jam. We also had one of the best pinot noirs I have tried in a while (Lola).

Staff was helpful to help pick out wine. Seems like an upscale place.

Easily the best food in town. A++Their progressive rotating menu features seasonal meats, fruits and vegetables cooked to perfection. The wine and beer selection is fantastic and the service is always on point. Dogs are allowed on the patio, and the servers are very friendly. If I could give this place a six star rating, I would!My only critique (wish?) is for more vegetarian and vegan entrées. That being said, there is always something delicious for everyone to enjoy and they are always down to accommodate any food allergies or restrictions.

Delicious brunch menu! This was my first time here and this little restaurant is so cute. The decor inside is cute. HUGE wine selection. You can buy wine by the bottle here as well to take home. Must make reservations to eat, but I recommend it. It was delicious! Id love to try dinner here sometime!

AWFUL and I never write reviews. Never going back and was so excited because this looked like an awesome place. The owner was incredibly rude to me today. I came in for lunch with a girlfriend of mine and was sitting comfortably at a table. My friend had to leave early and I was still enjoying my glass of wine alone. I would have no problem being asked to move to a smaller table for a larger party, but She rudely came over and told me that she had the table reserved at 12:30 and placed a sign on the table that I was sitting at. I mentioned to her that it was 12:34 because I thought it was so odd, and she told me to move. I love downtown Huntsville and Im always in for a new place. I live within walking distance of this one. I also own a local business. I support local and I thought Domaine South would be my new go to lunch spot. Never again. Thanks for making me feel uncomfortable, not welcome, and being super unfriendly.

The best food and service!

Lunch at Domaine South turned out to be more of an overall great experience than just simply a meal. The venue is so nice and comfortable with an eclectic interior and music piped in at just the right level - loud enough to hear but soft enough to talk over. Our server and menu guide was Heidi and she was marvelous. There was some nice, economical selections of happy hour wines and mystery beers. Our sandwiches were so darn good that you wanted to take more home for later. I had the BLT-DS and my friend had the tuna melt. We shared a creme brulee for dessert. An amazing experience at a very special place. P.S. Room is limited so reservations, even for lunch, are probably a good idea.

First time visit with a couple of friends. The manager visited our table nice touch and the staff was somewhat friendly. The food and wine were great. Recommend this place however you should make a reservation and confirm your end time. We made a reservation but were not informed of an end time. We were quite embarrassed when we were told by a staff member our time was up!!! We enjoyed the restaurant but disappointed that commuciation was not good. We can respect a timed visit if known up front.

Corner window table accomdates 8 if you snuggle in and the staff does a great job of managing a fine small space. Soup and bites! Dinner was fantastic and the vibe is great and gracious. Busy! So plan ahead and expect to share the good space. Great place to make or meet a friend. I ordered a case and recommend the outside space.

I hope this establishment is here to stay!! We had a wonderful experience from start to finish..our server Amber was able to answer any questions we had and was very intuitive..she suggested wines for us based on our taste preferences and even let us sample them first. The portions on the boards are generous and we were able to fill up on that alone. We had a goat cheese cheescake with a strawberry compote that blew our mind! We cant wait to try some lunch sandwiches.

I shared an amazing charcuterie board (that we were able to build from the menu offerings) with my friend for lunch. Smoked duck & rainbow trout dill spread...amazing!! The wine selections were equally impressive. Our waitress was courteous & helpful making our visit there so comfortable that we stayed longer than we expected to. A definite gem!

Stopped in to grab some wine and cheese for a date night at home. Staff was very nice, and offered good recommendations for pairings (not my strong suit) and even made sure to double check prices on the cheeses when they seemed too high. Cozy little spot, and were planning on doing an out of the house date there soon!

The best little wine shop in Huntsville, but also so much more! Domaine South is a place to find unique gifts (often locally-made!!), cookbooks, yummy cheeses, and wine tastings. The owner, Kristian, is a lovely person with a lot of knowledge to share - definitely ask her for wine recommendations!!

There is nothing better than a Madeira Wine with coffee crème brûlée.. at Domain South... dessert wine pulls at my heart strings. The flavor is rich, the essence old, wise and slow.. southern slow... cigar smoking slow... methodical .... as in the heat slows your speech to a slur. Steep of my love for the roots where the magnolia tree blooms with its lemon scents in the late afternoon.The Madeira Wine is a beautiful toasted brown in its glass, the hairdresser in me tries to figure out how to accomplish this color on my next muse.Give yourself a blessing and head to Domain South....

Had an early lunch here with my wife. Food was excellent, and its a charming little place with quality wines available for sale. Had soup, salad and a sandwich and all were excellent. I look forward to coming back after hours for wine and charcuterie.

My wife and I have visited Domaine a handful of times now, and have enjoyed each one thoroughly. Excellent wines, and interesting selections on the menu (we always order a charcuterie board). Weve had four different servers, each of whom was friendly and very capable of suggesting good wine pairings. During peak hours things get busy, so reservations are a good idea. Particularly given that this is a European-style place where taking your time is valued, the reservation system is more art than science--so if youre OCD about that sort of thing, be prepared. Overall highly recommended.

Hands down, a five star experience. This gourmet wine, cheese and gift shop compares to my favorites in big cities around the country. A small, locally-owned shop, Domaine South has a highly curated selection and an owner who knows how to pair every bottle with your meal, gift or event.

I joined a group of co-workers for a relaxed evening and Domaine South definitely fit the bill. We dined out on the sidewalk, a nice change from the normal crowded eatery concept. Appetizers chosen ranged from charcuterie boards with meats and cheeses chosen by us, to some of the best deviled eggs I have had recently. The dinner choices were equally varied, from unique twists on classic sandwiches to a limited selection of main dishes. I chose the lamb meatballs, cooked in a slightly spicy sauce and served over a bed of couscous. The meatballs were very tasty, lightly spiced and full of a mild lamb flavor. While I am not normally a fan of couscous, the sauce from the meatballs settled into it and I found myself devouring every trace.I reserve one star back for a couple of minor issues.Firstly, eating alfresco here means sitting on metal folding chairs. One of our party suffered a loss of dignity when the chair decided to give way while he was sitting. Better chairs would alleviate this issue.Secondly, their beer selection lists a dozen or so on tap. However, all are lighter colored brews, from pilsners to the ever trendy IPAs. Not a decent dark beer in sight. The iced tea wasnt bad, though.

I advice to get there early or make a reservation. We got there right when they opened and it was getting packed right when we left. Great options but the bread was a bit too hard for me, other than that, everything was delicious!
