Extremely helpful! Someone will generally ask if you’re looking for something right as you walk in. You will not get that treatment at the big box stores! They have more products than you’d imagine as well. The cat is chill too.

Great people who still believe that relationships with their customers matter. You will always be greeted with a smile. They have anything and everything to complete your new construction job, renovation, or any portion of your weekend project. This includes irrigation and well repair and parts. If you cannot find the part, you havent been to Lewters . Can not recommend them enough. Stop by and see a real hardware store and caring employees! You wont find more knowledgeable, friendly and honest people than youll find at Lewter Hardware. Ive been doing business with the Lewters since 1982 and I have never had bad advice or a bad experience with them. I highly recommend them.

They went way beyond what I expected as customer service. Found a part for a discontinued Elkay faucet via research and tracking new vendor suppliers. A1!!

Brought in three key blanks to be cut for 2007 Toyota Camry. They did it quickly, economically, and cheerfully, and unlike visiting a locksmith, without the pressure to buy THEIR key blanks. This was my first visit & certainly wont be my last.

Fantastic local hardware store. Great selection of quality tools and fasteners. Staff is helpful and available. Great local character and history. You can also get hard to find items like Red Rider BB guns and whoopee cushions.

The best customer service at any hardware store in the area. They seem to know some things. They also have some interesting and unique products that cant be found easily. The only downside is their hours and location make it difficult to visit.

I had rather pay double the price for something and buy from lewter hardware than to do business with anyone else. These guys are top notch when it comes to customer service and standing behind what the sell. There is a very good reason why they have been in business as long as they have, anyone who owns a business should take very good notes on how these guys treat their customers. I would recommend them to anyone looking to buy anything from a screwdriver to a complete well pump system. Good job guys!

Their hours are not the most convenient, but its well worth a trip on a Saturday morning. Sure, you could go to your big box store and for a lot of things youre just fine doing so. However, when you need just the right tool or the advice of somebody who actually knows what theyre talking about, you cant beat them.Their staff are friendly and helpful and there are some odd fixtures and things which they carry and the big box stores cant be bothered with. Definitely worth checking out.

Nice place. Lots of hardware, plumbing, tools, gardening supplies, and everything else. Love the two cats I saw there as well. Very friendly. The people are very nice, too. Clean store, and well organized. I can see parking being extremely limited during peak hours of businesses downtown, but otherwise convenient.

This is the defacto example of everything you want in a true hardware store: extreme selection and exceptionally helpful staff. Yes, its not going to win awards for the most spacious organization, however the folks there know where things are and are very willing to help you figure out whatever you need. The big orange and blue stores are fine for some stuff, but Lewter is where I go when I actually need to find the right parts :)

Very friendly and knowlegable staff. I had the great fortune to stumble upon this place during Customer appreciation day. I was told this was an event that goes about every year. Apparently they serve customers barbecue every 4th of July holiday. I loved the food service and personalities of the staff. I think this place has been in service for years and I only stumbled upon it today. I know Ill be visiting again soon as I continue my home repairs. I am so happy to have found this place. They have peanuts for everyone to eat and a very clean and well stocked home improvement supplies. I am excited to be a new customer. I will be visiting again soon.

I have been knowing these guys since elementary school were best friends growing up. They are very honest and will surely take care of your needs and problems. Highly recommended will treat as a friend the minute you walk through the door.

These guys are the real deal, old school hardware store your grandpa told you about. The friendly, knowledgable staff are terrific. If you have an older home, or older anything, and the big box stores dont have it, never heard of it, and are not sure where to send you.... before you tear it out and throw it away check these guys. Replacement hammer handles in all sizes, odd sized washers for older plumbing fixtures...got them too. And the list goes on and on. When you think nobody has it, check these guys.

Helpful, friendly staff. Went in looking for some screws. I called ahead to make sure they had exactly what I needed, and sure enough they did. They even pulled the screws for me, waiting for my arrival, as I told them I was on my way and closing time was approaching. Fast and easy shopping, 10/10 would recommend.

I love this place. They still have all the parts that we use to buy, but are hard to find now. Need a wick for an oil lamp? They got them, and the service is outstanding.

Incredible customer service. Walked in with an old part that was broken. Since you cant find them anymore, an employee spent almost an hour with me repairing the piece back to usability, plus four stainless screws I needed, all free of charge. From now on, I will be going to Lowes only when these guys dont have what I need.

This is a local gem with inventory depth and a staff who know their stuff. Kudos to them for the help and advice they gave me this time about rebuilding a tub faucet.

My favorite HW store. You can SMELL the nostalgia when you walk in. But its not a museum, its a REAL HW store. Peanuts on the counter. Locals swapping stories. All the employees know their stuff, and are helpful and patient. A Huntsville cultural treasure.
