We purchased a door here to use for our new home build front door. While we are happy with our door, we are not happy with the service and experience in order to get the door.We first came to the store and purchased a door in April, when construction on our home had not even started yet. We were told it would take 6-8 weeks for the door to be completed. After 8 weeks, we called to check on the status of our door, and we were informed that the standard time frame is actually 10-12 weeks. After 14 weeks, we were finally told that our door had orange paint on it that would not come off without changing the original look. (When we originally purchased, they said the orange paint wouldn’t be a problem to get off.) So we picked a new door, that had to go through another 6 weeks until it was ready. At that time, our home build was ready for a door, but we didn’t have one ready to put in. Also, we picked out hardware (recommended by them) the week after picking our second door. We found out weeks later that it wouldn’t work. We picked out new hardware, and when it was time to pick up, found out they only ordered the knob, not the locking mechanism as well, like we discussed. Now we will purchase a locking mechanism on our own in order to not work with Preservation Co any more.Overall, we were not pleased with the customer service and the lack of reliability. It was a difficult and stressful 6 months for 1 door.
Incredible Store. The Staff has always been very helpful and attentive.Really appreciate seeing the restoration of a building that my grandparents frequented when they were much younger.
Preservation Co. Is one of the coolest places to shop in the South. With very personal service and attention for all kind of home decorating and remodeling needs. Jason and Christa Butler are your congenital hosts. Plus their staff is second to none. I give them two big thumbs up.
Very cool store, it was like a cross between a museum and antique store. It definitely had the best in store selection of antique architectural pieces I have ever seen in person. The staff was very helpful and I must say that the ambience was outstanding. It would be a great place to have a party or large event based on what I saw of the back patio area and how tastefully it was all set up. Ill certainly be going back.
Awesome place. Very clean and organized. Friendly staff
Preservation Company is one of the coolest stores you will ever visit! You’ll find the most awesome things for your home, as well as the cutest gifts. The workers are incredibly friendly and so helpful!
Very fun vibe with a wide selection of interesting vintage materials and items. A must visit destination for anyone visiting Huntsville, and a great opportunity for local designers and architects to select unique items to incorporate in their projects.
Great place to visit, great furniture, candles, venue & staff! I always enjoy getting to visit and see what new things they have been up to.
I love the atmosphere of the store and the unique items they sell. Such a wonderful shopping experience.
Such a unique and beautiful store, much like a museum and always knew Items being added. If you have not visited Preservation Company, don’t miss it!
Preservation company’s products are always very unique and exciting and their employees are friendly and helpful.
Really enjoyed visiting the Preservation Company - such a great store on Meridian filled with hardware restoration items and lots of local store support like 1818 Farms, Piper and Leaf and more.We were lucky enough to be introduced last night when they hosted a wreath making night paired with Field and Forage Flowers - Ariel was great and very informative about the store.
This store is a treasure for Huntsville. They have a nice selection of vintage architectural materials, up-cycled creations, furniture and local items. Well organized/designed displays and layout with a staff that is very friendly and pleasantly nonaggressive. If you want to add a classy touch of history to your home, I highly recommend to stop in!
Purchased a beautiful beam for a fireplace mantel.... great store with very helpful informed staff. You won’t be disappointed with your visit if you’re looking for decorative pieces.
What an amazing store! Friendly & welcoming folks, tons of great old finds. Purchased several pieces that fit so nicely into our new space. I would highly recommend a visit to their store.
The staff is kind and always eager to help find what I am looking for.
One stop for your vintage fix. I found the perfect vintage door and vintage hardware for my pantry door. Very reasonably priced and large selection.
Amazing establishment! There has been an amazing amount of work put into this place and the results are simply amazing! An absolute must see! Staff on hand was super helpful and we had a great time roaming around, looking at all of the assorted goods!!!
Would have rated this a 10 star, but only five are available. Owners have really outdone themselves! Worth a visit to see how classy this building is!The store is very organized, easy to walk thru. Youll find architectural pieces, louvered doors, wooden doors, different sized windows, wrought iron D sized transoms, and transom windows. Saw large wrought iron gates/pieces, large large retractable maps, old (polished up, nicely) white sinks. Impressed by 2 huge, 10- ish drawer pieces to be used as a dresser or foyer furniture piece, awesome coffee tables, galvanized pieces, hinges. We saw 3 floaters from an airplane, an airplane wing piece, stained glass, columns. With the music set-up, this is an awesome place for businesses to host events. Also, for wedding receptions, birthday bashes, speaking engagements.
Wonderful selection original salvage items for the home: doors, cabinets, shutters, sinks, corbels, doorknobs, metal works, etc., along with some reproductions as well. Everything is orderly and nicely presented. Two floors and an elevator is provided!
Great place and engaging owners. Full diversity of architectural details, books, etc. Worth a visit to walk through if your in town.
