One of the few places in town to get a nice diner breakfast. However, the food is great and the management has done great to improve the building over the years of the current ownership. Good omelets, skillets, classic combos, and build your own options. Brunch, lunch, and dinner are excellent for this style of food. The coffee shop also will provide food to bowlers to lanes in this facility. Two other kitchens provide sports bar and banquet food options as well as at least four bars to provide beverages to the various patrons.

I always call in 2 omelets to go. They no longer do to gos on Sunday because they are too busy and they do not do to gos during bowling tournaments. Ive never seen a place turn down business. Especially the to go business that surely helped them last year during the pandemic. I love the omelets. They are ALWAYS great but it appears my business just makes their job too difficult so I will stay clear. 😉
Nice place to eat. Sad they ran out of broasted chicken when I was there, the food was good. Would eat there again.

Was unable to order take out even when the wife went in to order it to go. The reason was they had to cater to the bowling league which no one was even there for bowling cause it was 9 in the morning

Fast service with great tasting food at a reasonable price. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with curley fries and my colleague had the taco salad. The menu had something for everyone! The food was hot and fresh when it came out. This is a great place for casual dining and is family friendly.

We both had the prime rib special. And it was prepared perfectly. Tender and tasty. The soup and salad bar were very good. I added the jumbo shrimp to my dinner. Excellent. We sat at the bar in the bowling alley and had a nice conversation with the bartender and the owner. Next time in Huron SD I will definitely go back. Oh, and the drinks were good too.
They DO NOT do pickup. Orders are sent overnto Big Ds. Not same menu.

Terrible service. Long wait times between being acknowledged, getting drinks, and putting in an order. (Even when it isnt busy!) Consistently fail to check on drink refills and offer to-go boxes. Ive been quite generous with giving 3 tries. I wont be back.
I loved the Plains! Its connected to a bowling alley so you can enjoy a game before or after eating. Its like a small town old fashioned cafe. It has a great salad bar, good staff, and good food. Its definitely worth a stop!
I am from out of town visiting a friend. This is the third time Ive eaten here. Each time I have the haystack. It is phenomenal. I plan on making this a place to stop whenever I visit Huron.
Dawn and Terri are awesome wait-staff! Whether Ruth or one of the other cooks are working, my food is always the way I ordered and nice and hot!
Not easy to find a place thats serves breakfast on a sunday in Huron. Parking lot was full. Knew that had to be a good sign. Place was full. Quick service and food. Mom and Pop feeling.
Food is great. Waitresses are very customer friendly. Very family friendly. Banquet service is great for large groups, funerals, and family gatherings.

Best homemade breakfast in town. The lunch specials are always delicious. Low prices with that hometown cafe feel.We have not eaten an evening meal here.

Didnt tell us they had tore down salad bar before ordering at 7:30 p.m., said meal came with garlic toast but no longer make it. Veggies were mush, dinner roll was soaking up all the water from the veggies. Disappointed because usually a good experience
I use to eat here allot, and its not near as bad as the other reviewer made it out to be. The food is great and reasonably priced, and while it is true that SOME of the waitresses do not look too thrilled to be there, they are not all like that. I would highly recommend going there and judging for yourself.

Weve eaten here a few times but this time my daughter bought a piece of strawberry pie to-go and after we got home, she started eating it and just about to put a bite in her mouth, she stopped. She pulled out a piece of metal about the size of a nickel. I called and asked for the management and got a man who was sympathetic and apologized...Thank God my daughter did not eat the metal.

Wazzys Lounge, Dalton was our service provider He did a great job, unlike Big Ds was our cook and it seemed to take quiet along time 30 min + for there being no one else here, and the food came I had lost my appetite. Dalton however was positive and plesent so I will come and try it again. Plus theres not much for options in this town.

Cant really comment on the food because after driving a semi through the night in a blizzard it was the best place I could find to park with a clean lot and have breakfast in the morning. I woke to whoever they hire to clear snow at my door telling me to move, preferably down the road. Thats what I did, they didnt get the chance for me to try their food. What a warm welcome in Huron...
