OK on this episode of Big Schlims LITE POCKET MEALS we are incorporating another segment called…. Gas station food! Yep…you read that right. Hold up with that vision that you have of gas station food…there are some stations that have some delectable meals!! With that being said…today we are starting off with @royalfarms !! Located at 6202 Annapolis Rd.,in Hyattsville M.D. (by Capital Plaza), they have multiple locations all across Maryland. I know several people that go to Royal Farms to pick up chicken boxes. The food always seems to smell delicious, and those people always come back with change in their pocket. So I decided to go ahead and go try them out to see what it was all about. To start Royal Farms has breakfast sandwiches ranging from $3.19 through $3.49. Do you have your typical bacon, egg, and cheese, sausage, egg, and cheese, chicken,egg, and cheese, even a waffle bread option. They have salads, burgers, hotdogs, and sides like macaroni and cheese. But I’ve only ever seen people come out of Royal Farms with chicken boxes so that’s what I went to go get. None of their individual chicken meals are over $10. Each meal comes with fries, and you have an option to get the small side with it for an additional cost. So I copped their three-piece white meal (a breast and two chicken wings, steak fries,and a waffle pictured-$9.50). Much to my surprise…everything here was decent. The chicken was crispy, the fries were thoroughly cooked, even the waffle was highly flavored, and tasty!! For $2.50 I got a cherry slushy too…I needed to wash this meal down. Customer service was decent, parking was ample, there’s no online ordering, and this particular establishment was clean. So if you have $10, you want something quick, and your partial to any of the aforementioned food…this spot might be your spot. Got ripped off. I ordered a 4 piece meal and only got two pieces. Ran out the door with our checking because I was late for work.

Yesterday I was at this location and ordered a home style chicken salad sub. I got it home and tasted it because I actually purchased it for lunch the next day. Upon unwrapping the sub it was messy and someone had added old bay seasoning which I did not ask for and if you didnt have high blood pressure before youd certainly have it after eating this sandwich it was a salt factory! Im taking the sandwich back up there today and ask to speak with the manager, didnt do it last night because I live in DC and didnt want to come back out last night will see what happens I will keep you posted

I frequent Royal Farms for gas and snacks so much that usually I get enough reward points to purchase meals however every time I visit this location and order chicken/fries…. The food is OLD and Dried Out. This location also has some of the worst customer service in the world. Please do something soon to save this location from self destruction because this’ll soon keep the client base from patronizing

It used to be 24 hours, however, I dont think its open 24 hours anymore. Im an Uber driver and I drive overnight. For the last week, Ive stopped by at 3:00, 4:00, and another time when the Krispy Kreme truck was making the morning delivery and they told me that they were closed. I ended up going to the 7-Eleven up the street from Royal farms. Maybe the gas pumps are 24 hours but the store certainly is not. It would be a higher rating if they didnt advertise as open 24 hours.

The friend chicken at this location tastes NOTHING like every other location. The chicken is cold and over salted. The wedges are cold and also saltier than other stores. The gravy had a weird chemical taste with black spots in it. Im so disappointed as I didnt know how terrible it was till already home.

This place is hit or miss. For starters I go here because of the self serve machines that dont have an attitude. My issue is most of my interactions with an employee seems like they just hate working there. Everytime I need tobacco its like Im bothering the employee. The female manager seems to be the only one with some sense. Royal farms in worst neighborhoods have better customer service and better chicken. Also, why is this sauce extra for this tiny bit of sauce??? I hate it here.

Ive gone there several times and tried different things. Staff usually friendly. I had one time a young lady had an attitude like she was having a bad day. I fully understand the hardship of Frontline customer service. So I tried saying things to try to cheer her up. No luck. I tried the chicken, pretty good, when it fresh. I ordered some and asked to get some just coming out. I waited 10 min. Another 15 because someone forgot to fix my order. Started eating when headed home. One PC was hot and fresh. The other two were the old and dried up pieces and Luke warm. The taters were good tho. The batter for the chicken is a little too salty. Lastly, they advertise everything is cooked fresh to order. The egg is a patty, precooked and comes to them in a plastic bag. They put it in an oven to heat it up. Thats not a fresh egg !! 😕

A bad service I spent filling gasoline and the machines did not give me the receipts to me the company pays me the gasoline but I have to have the receipt and I entered and the cashiers like they are not prepared they do not know how to use that system and the other machines to pay 3 oclock out of order very bad

I purchased two three-piece white meat dinners the product was old and under cooked. The best thing about my experience what is the biscuit I am very disappointed and may not return to this location. I wasted more than $30 I wish I could get a refund.

Horrible how you a 24 hr gas station and you closed after 12am . hire morepeople to work overnights, and pay them them enough to come to work and work . This place is losing a lo of money by closing at midnight

Worst customer service 😒 ever in my life.....Rude staff and upper management doesnt care they just want you to buy the chicken and get out never in my life will I go to this location again......

If I could give 0 stars I would. The customer service was terrible. I paid for a 3 pcs chicken and they only gave me 2. The chicken tastes like it was cooked in old grease also.

Ordered through door dash and instead of this location going off line or declining my order . They just had it waiting on the app . I called the store and the gentleman told me that he was the only one there and the store was closed. It would only make sense to go off line then in that case instead of having customers wait damn near an hour to find this out.

Usually this location is okay in and out, but today was different, I experienced bad customer long wait times for food your getting gas ⛽ your good but coming inside prepare yourself cuz I was not expecting this type of customer service today or ever.

Gas is still high with my ROFO Rewards.

I went in there last night around 11:30 there was only two young men by themselves no management in sight the two gentlemen handled it very well but it was an complete inconvenience because there was no help no management I will be be writing a letter to corporate

I go to royal farms for two reason #1 Coffee, #2Gas. Normally I go to the Royal Farms by BWI Amtrak station and that one gets 5 stars, but this one on Annapolis road just opened up and the chicken is under cooked, never no cream in the creamer bar, and the people preparing the food attitudes are Not professional I can definitely see in their faces they hate working at this location. The cashiers are the only friendly staff at this location. My 2 stars are for the cashiers and the store looking nice.

I’ve enjoyed shopping at this location. Staff is always helpful, gas is affordable & the drive thru car wash is a nice touch. The self check out helps to keep the lines short and staff is always willing to assist. Whenever I need something quickly or my child wants a quick snack, I’m usually in and out.

No sure what is the different between this location ordered 8 pieces of chicken and the chicken smell Bad like soap try to avoid this place if you can

I would never work for this company again. The store manager Olga at this location does not give her managers hours. She will have you work 2 or 3 days a week for like 5hrs a day. She doesnt fully train her employees. She expects you to just know!! Way to much bs at this store.

Very poor customer service! They sold me the wrong cigarettes. I wanted Camel regular fresh! Someone had given me regular fresh (bold) which is slightly different. Went right back to exchange and told NO! And the MANAGER very rude about it!

This location currently has a terrible morning and afternoon crew. I have watched as customers have had their order wrong and they have requested refunds including myself. The morning manager on duty at the time was a heavy set African american female. She argued with me because I requested a different piece of chicken due to texture issues and tells me “They all come out at the same time” and “ I don’t see what the problem is...” She was very nasty and disrespectful. I feel sorry for the employees who she manages and the customers who may come to her to express an issue with their food.

Portions of food very small for ridiculous price and when look at the date on top it was 5 hours past time to use OLD FOOD shouldve never been served

If I could give no stars I would... I got home and this is what I purchased. I wrote an email because I thought someone would contact me but now I have to post this mess... I will not be back and Ill go to another location for my Potato Wedges because they werent that great either compared to other locations that I visited. Oh well, welcome to the neighborhood :-(
