Let’s start with the good. This is a very large, open brewery with plenty of seating and great views of the brewing equipment if you are in to that. They also have nachos available in house to eat that are quite good if I do say so. They also have a huge selection of beer, seltzers, slushies, and cocktails. Over 20 beers including their standards and a large amount of seasonal beers.Now to the bad. I wasn’t particularly overwhelmed by any of their beers. They are all average to above average to my liking. However, beer is obviously very personal in what people like, and they are a large brewery so don’t let this part of the review dissuade you from coming. Overall, it was a fun place to come try some beers!

Extensive beer selection, plenty of spirits & margaritas along with other drinks and food. Outstanding and friendly service the moment you walk in the door. Inside you find high ceilings with circulation and an outdoor patio. Is this what heaven looks like?

Amazing service! We had a birthday party planned outside at a different location and got rained out. Last minute sunking was able to accommodate us all! It turned out prefect and it did help that this is our favorite brewery in Indiana! Thank you for the amazing hospitality and service last minute! We already loved it here but we now have a lot more love and respect for this location! Thank you x1mil!

One or the best brewery in the world. Best food, best beer, best indoor seating and outside patio to view downtown Indy skyline.very friendly staff and good service. Excellent pale and IPAs.i think they got tours too.

Great place! Large seating area right in the middle of the bar, food shop, merchandise area, brewery, and even the R&D area. Great variety of delicious beer and other items for non-beer drinkers. Food was decent, and the beer sunmosa was good! It was a such a fun spot, we ended up there two days in a row. Family friendly. Would recommend!

We took a mini-trip from Chicago to Indy for Skyline Chili and to check out some of the local breweries. Our first stop was Sun King. The creme ale is excellent! The place has a great vibe and friendly staff. Love it!

Sun King is awesome! They have an amazing selection and merchandise that is reasonably priced. We took a Saturday tour which was super fun and informative. We will be back in the future!

I went for trivia recently and had a great time. Our team came in 2nd!! It was my first time here and I had only had two of Sun Kings beers before, so I wanted to branch out and have some different brews. The bartender was great and very helpful. He asked what kind of beers I like and made many recommendations along with tiny sips of all I wanted to try. They have some good food too! I had a sandwich with beef, meatballs and provolone. *Drool*

The widest selection of brews you are probably going to find. Definitely something g for everyone. Tons of swag, great venue, and plenty of small batch options for those “sophisticated” drinkers out there. I had a few flights and would happily drink a pint of any of them. Kid friendly!!

Visiting some friends in Indiana and wanted a beer and they brought me here to sun king brewery, I thought this place was so awesome, the atmosphere was awesome and very friendly place beer was actually pretty good and I’m not really a craft kind of beer guy but it was pretty good I will be back soon.

We held a work team building event and decided to stop here after. We reserved a space for 40 people, ordered a charcuterie platter (Tour Board), and hummus + crudités. Food and beer were great. The staff was also friendly and super attentive. I’d recommend this place for a work event due to the value you get for the dollar.

An Indy staple. My advice for newbies is to ask for a flight of their house beers (or anything that looks good to you) and give it a try. They also have a limited cocktail menu and usually have some food in-house - I think its La Margarita (delicious Mexican food) at the moment. Ive been going Sun King for 10 years and they are always evolving and improving. If you are a beer lover, the downtown taproom is a must-see!

Excellent brewery/taproom with lots of tables both indoor and outdoor, and a large bar. Many different beer selections, plus hard liquor drinks. Very big on growler fillings, and huge gift shop. Worth the visit, even for just a drink!

Quick loading nice people. Docks tight with a 53 foot reefer. They also appear to be very acquainted with loading dry vans. I didnt think to remind them of the ~1500lb engine hanging off the front of my trailer, now im 1000 lbs over on an LTL on my drives and gotta get my load reworked

Incredible experience! Well-versed, motivated and friendly Staff despite being slammed. Sun King fosters an environment of friendship and camaraderie. There is sooooo much great craft beer to choose from. The sandwich shop on sight is fresh, delish and not overpriced. I would come here often if I lived local.

Completely dead in there but the tool taking my order insisted that I wear a mask for the 10 feet I had to walk to the table. The mask mandate ended a few days ago bruh. These tools are way too woke for my taste.

I used to think Sun Kung Was just ok, but over the last 5 years they have become my favorite Indiana brewery. I think their beer is outstanding and I drink more of it than any other brewery. Make sure you stop by and give them a try if you are in town and hit up the $6 growler fills on Fridays.

Best place for beers! They have amazing seasonal and limited collection as well! Absolute treat!

Great local brewery with lots of great tour options and a ton of beers. Really a unique taproom since youre basically inside the brewery itself instead of walled off like most places. Theres food options as well if you get hungry and lots of board games to pass the time.

Good atmosphere and the highlight is $5 growlers on Friday night

Love the clean bathrooms in downtown is very important to keep them clean after covid 19.

Sun King is one of the best local breweries in Indianapolis. They take their brewing process seriously, have great quality control, and give back via support of local not for profits. Sun King is the best!

Service and staff are always great. Traditional styles and some one of experimentals. Their barrel/kings reserve series is where they truly shine.

I tried the Black is Beautiful beer, inspired from a beer done in Texas. It was very well received.

Always a delightful place to chill out and have some of the BEST craft brews anywhere. Pro tip: order anything from Smoking Goose’s OCA (conveniently located in the brewery) for a little something to soak up all that beer you will definitely be drinking.Classics are the Cream Ale (a solid beer for the craft brew skeptics), Osiris (a nice pale ale) and my favorite the Wee Mac (just try it). I highly recommend getting a flight and trying their seasonal and small batch offerings. Right now I’m in love with the Akala (a hibiscus IPA made through the Pink Boots group) and I’m not an IPA girl so you know it’s solid. Hora Feliz and Ribg of Dinggle are also pretty great.Delightful staff and a great patio (for when the weather is good, though the is a corner under an awning when it’s middling) where dogs are welcome.

If you have beer at home and an air fryer available then just stay home. Food was comparable to Burger King and the service was spotty to say the least. Highly recommend going down the road to Hopcat.

I have had 3700 beers and your brewery is at the top of the list. Being from Ohio, we don’t get to visit as often as we would like. My wife often says, I wish we were at sun king! After visiting hundreds of breweries, you are the best. Nearly every beer we tasted was a 4-5 on untappped . Please please open an Ohio location!

Open tasting area. Good view of the brewing tanks. Bourbon barrel Timmie is outstanding. They use local barrels from established and good distelleries.

Love, love, love this taproom. Their widely available beers aren’t great (Sunlight, Wee-Mac, etc), but the taproom boasts about 15 experimental and small batch rotating beers that are PHENOMENAL. The food offerings are also quite good. Plenty of seating and games to play, and a decent size patio out front with plenty of parking.

While visiting Indianapolis, some friends took me to Sun King. I was impressed by the number of beers they had! I tried a couple different ones and was pleased with all that I tasted. The tasting room is right there in the brewery which gives it a really cool feel. They had lots of board games to play and a decent food menu. I would definitely come back when I visit Indianapolis again.

We hadnt been to the brewery in a few years and I love the changes that theyve made to the space. Its more open and inviting to hang out with friends for an extended period of time. The selection of beers on tap was wide with something for everyone. The food stand in the brewery was nice, but the service was very slow. Easy to get to and has a large parking lot.

Absolutely love this brewery. It has probably the best tour Ive done. The beer is delicious and diverse. Doesnt matter the season, they always have a beer for everyone. They even added a couple slushies for those who arent fans of beer (like my wife). This is an absolutely go to place every time Im near Indianapolis. I would give it 10 stars if I could.

This was the highlight of our trip. Amazing people and a fun beer tour. For just $10 you can get a tour on the history and process of beer. During the tour they will pour 5 different types of beer for you to taste. At the end of the tour you get a free glass. The employees here was amazing. So welcoming and helpful. If you ever go to Indianapolis dont forget to stop by!!

Awesome brewery. Walk in through a nice little gift shop and get IDed. Then you walk into a huge brewery with a tap room. Getting grower fills, smelling the yeast, and having a fresh beer from the brewery is a good feeling. On Fridays you can get any container filled so its always packed on those days.

Just tried their new hard seltzer, wow is it bad, mango was full of good, passion orange, will keep you posted on other flavors. So far worst ever.

Just east of downtown is an industrial part of town where Sun King Brewery lives. If you like a chill environment, go! Heres why:1) Atmosphere: Its in a HUGE space with a bar, plenty of seating, and a deli. Since children arent legally allowed near a bar in Indiana, theres a roped off area for families.2) Beer: They have a HUGE list and not just of beer. They had several sour ales they brew themselves. I tried every single one and loved it. If youre not into beer, I recommend trying the sour ales.3) Events: They often host events from live music to pie eating contests.4) Service: Everyone we met was friendly and helpful.I recommend visiting Sun King Brewery!

Fantastic beer! Marty was very helpful and quick with the samples! The fact they allowed our 1 year to join us in the tap room made it even better as we were told to leave from other breweries because of him. We will definitely return back!

This is a no brainer really. Excellent service, very good beer (if you like a barleywine absolutely try theirs!) And a good atmosphere. They do have outdoor seating, which is a huge plus during covid, and theyre very well spaced out.

Always find a new brew or two to try. Lucky for me, they let you sample a small amount so you dont get stuck drinking something you dont really like. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I always enjoy my visit to Sun King!!

Absolutely the best brewery in downtown Indy. Great beer, although they cater more towards those with a taste for milder beers. The space is a blast - not that big but big enough to fit a good size crowd, and board and video games for entertainment. Best of all, theyre one of the few pure breweries with a barrier so they allow children in! Excellent for a new parent like me.

It was my first day in Indy and I had a great time at Sun King. I met one of the owners, Steve, and complimented him on what a fantastic staff and brewery he had. He thanked me, sat down, and enjoyed a beer with me. He was on his way out but took the time to welcome a traveler into his establishment for over an hour! Great place, wonderful ownership, and just a sweet place to visit when you visit Indy. Everyone was nice and I couldnt leave without buying a souvenir glass.

I really enjoyed the environment and the service was great. Their beer, for a lack of better words, kind of sucks. There was a bunch of average options but nothing that wowed. It was surprising given the number of taps and options they have. Seems to be a local favorite, and I’m glad they do well. However, perhaps my tastes for beer aren’t suited for the styles they offer. There is plenty of seating a large parking lot, and seems to be good for families who want to come.

Great Place To Get High...Looking for fun things to do in Indy with some old friends and stumbled across (and into) Sun King Brewery.We went on the Brewery Tour which was great.Highlights include 1) eating toasted oats & other grains 2) getting high off the fumes of burning hops in the back room.Finished off the tour with some samples at the bar.Almost puked trying one of their sours.Pretty sure it was literally just Cherry NyQuill™️ but it got the job done so what am I complaining about.Highly recommend for families.

Wonderful place with a great atmosphere. When I come on from out of town this is one of the places my friends and I meet up. You cant go wrong with the beer flights to try as many different beers as possible. Also the addition of board and video games is great! They have both indoor and outdoor seating so great for all seasons.

The food was decent, and the beers held their own. Like most breweries, there was a ton of seating inside and out. The staff was friendly, and all the of tips went directly to charity, which was really cool. The convenience of the location makes it a good first stop before going downtown. I’d recommend it for a beer or two, but you probably won’t spend more than an hour here.
