Awesome meat shop! Cut to order steaks are going to look great on that grill. Their prices are more than fair if you compare to grocery stores. Good location near 465 and 70. Off US40 and High School rd..I go there a couple times per month. Staff is always courteous and helpful.

The customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I just left after waiting to be served for a couple of minutes. A lady walks in after me and she is assisted right away, and ahead of me!!! I have no problem taking my hard earned money to another business. Mi Carniceria Favorita had what I was looking for and probably cheaper.

Walked in at 2:18 pm and oddly enough that must’ve been the exact time they were closing. I understand mom and pop shops can make their own schedules but when you work in the customer service industry yelling “Closed” from behind the counter gives the opposite vibe.

Went for the first time. And what can I say? Wow! No frills MEAT! Exactly what I was looking for. Their thick cut pork chops are huge! I got 4 and weighed almost 6 pounds!!!

My only complaint is that it’s hard for me to come in during work hours to get meat from here so I usually buy my meat from a grocery store after work hours! However, whenever I get meat from here it’s always fresh and always tastes good!

I found out about this place through a friend. My family was looking a budget friendly and healthier place to get our meat. We decided buying our meat in bulk would be our better option. This place is amazing! The prices are fair and the people are genuinely helpful and kind. I had a bad experience the other day with the meat shop thats why Im giving 3 stars. Me & my family been coming hear for years luv their service and products meat looks good and fresh but the problem was my wife found hair all over the packaging. Is there anything you can do for us.

Friend of mine recommend them, so we stopped got a couple nice looking rib eyes$28 for two. Came home but some seasoning on them, grilled them up. Super disappointed they were tuff and tasted like they had been previously frozen. Wont buy there again.

I was looking for a brisket when we had some company for dinner and I wanted to cook on the grill. Typical grocery stores didnt have what I wanted so I came here and was not disappointed. They were very busy but I was still in and out quickly. The price was fair for a quality product and Ill definitely be going back in the future.

Extremly rude. Has no business background. Doesnt know how to speak to the customers. Calls customers names. Makes excuses for the wrongs they have done to people. Word of mouth is the biggest form of advertising and they have very bad customer service skills. So only 1 star..they need to learn to be professional and speak to people with respect. They call people names as if an elem student was behind the keyboard. Just very unprofessional.

I visited the Meat Shoppe located on High School Rd on 7/22/2020, I asked the older African American gentleman for a large piece of beef! The gentleman presented a large beef brisket, I was not asking for brisket, I asked for a Goose neck or large piece of beef for Roast. A Causisan gentleman stepped up and ask me what I needed and I explained to him, both of the gentlemen turned and went to freezer to look, the Causisan comes to countet to inform me, he could not sale it to me, that would leave his customers without any beef!!! My question is was I not a CUSTOMER????? Very unprofessional, Sir!

Meats are great but during this covid stuff they put a sign in side saying only three people in lobby at one time put the sign out side so people can read it before you go in.... staff doesnt have to be rude didnt give me a chance to read sign before they said somethi g to me

Bought a 273.00 Summer meat package and they shorted me 10 Ground Beef Patties, 4 NY strip steaks and 10 pounds of ground beef!! If I could I would give them a big ZERO!!! Watch out for these swindlers!! Gave them a chance to respond and they never answered my emails .....

Have bought meat bundles here (online) since covid started. The way they do their online orders needs alot of work!! You place your order online and then receive an email saying your order is ready to be picked up but when you arrive to the store your order is not actually ready! You still have to wait for them to put it together. What is the point of placing online! This last weekend we placed an order, received our email stating order was ready, drove from the southeast side to pick up. Arrived at store to be told their saw was down so our order couldnt be fulfilled unless we substituted everything that had bones (steaks, pork chops, etc) for boneless cuts of meat. What ?? We were buying the summer bundle (alot of bone in meat!). Why did they not call us esp after sending an email saying it was ready!! The staff was EXTREMELY RUDE!! Do they not realize people drive from a distance to get to their store!!! My husband was trying to find out a time frame and 1 of their employees became extremely rude and started getting loud. The situation then escalated and all of the employees came out of the store as if they were going to jump my husband! A man that claimed to be the owner (and was NOT wearing a face mask!!) was arguing with my husband and when he asked if we received an email stating our order was ready my husband showed him the email and the man became even more aggressive and was cussing and yelling at my husband and told us to leave. Wow! I guess he doesnt really even want to admit THEY WERE IN THE WRONG!! On top of that terrible situation, while in the store I noticed a couple employees in there preparing meat and had NO FACE MASKS AND NO GLOVES ON!! Its upsetting that we wasted our time (and gas!) driving all the way there and not getting our order but it is probably a blessing!!! Who knows how many people their employees are infecting! Even if times were normal they should atleast be wearing gloves while handling food!!!! They make sure there is limited people in the store but what is the point in doing that when their own employees dont even follow the rules set in place during this pandemic!!

Normally a good place to go and get a hot sandwich when Im intown. They are unfamiliar with pork roll. Its raw meat. Ive ordered sandwiches here before never a problem.So if you have them make a sandwich for you make sure they cook it. They took so long making the sandwich I took it for granted it was cooked. Got out to my pickup to eat it, you can imagine my dismay. Walk in and told them, I was told it was something like bologna and didnt have to be cooked. The woman behind the counter ask the guy who made the sandwich if he would cook the meat on the grill. He didnt give her a reply so I just put the sandwich on the counter and walk out. Im originally from New Jersey where it is made. Its raw meat.

These people are excellent. The meat is always fresh, not washed out or gray but great color and high quality. Have not tried the hot food to go yet. Soon. Proof is how long the lines are usually but well worth it. Call your order in to save time and pick it up.

We are new to the area and we like to buy meat in bulk. Went here after googling meat markets. Prices seemed soso but feasible so we decided to take a trip there. We walked in and decided to place a order then Lord behold we saw roaches crawling across the floor. Disgusted we told the staff, they did NOTHING. Shrugged it off and went on their way needless to say we cancelled our order and left. Be careful with your food choices.

I bought some country ribs. They were slimy and they smelled. When I brought them back the manager or owner gave me a bunch of attitude. He said they were fine 🙄.I don’t eat slimy or stinky meat!!!Be ware of this place.

Would choose no stars if I could. Was going here for the raw dog food. The inconsistency in the food was crazy, sometimes my girl had violent diarrhea other times she would be so constipated it hurt her. When making raw dog food if the bone, fat, and organ percentages are off even a little bit its not good for the dogs digestive system. Once we started going regularly the prices went up because they was selling more. Then they was always out of the food 2 to 5 days at a time!!! The kids that work there are ALL very rude and argumentative. Trying to argue with me about the food they had in stock was the same as food i usually get and wouldnt vother my dogs stomach. If you really care about your fur babies you will find other choices for raw food. Because of the experience there for just my dogs food I will NEVER spend my money in there again for my dog or for myself. Much rather drive to mooresville to get my meat, much better quality and service!!!!

Person behind the counter took a call while I was mid-sentence on what I needed. No one there seemed to care. The NY Strips we bought were TERRIBLE. I unpacked them and they were so light pink they looked like pork. At the shop I only saw them under the shade of the shelf above so I didn’t realize how light they were. Almost no marbling whatsoever, cut too thin for my taste, and even medium rare they are really tough. I am not exaggerating when I say that the steak I got prepackaged at Kroger was better. We thought we’d treat ourselves but I see why it was cheaper than Kroger now.

I hate to give this place a bad review because the people are so nice BUT Ive had 3 bad experiences in four months. I buy my meat every 3 or four days to keep from having to freeze it, so that Im always getting fresh meat. The pork chops went moldy in just two days, the chicken tasted like water not like chicken, and the hamburger turned brown over night. Ive tried talking to them each time about my experience at the time and they just told me a story about how thats simply not the word from others we get such great comments try seasoning it if your not going to eat it right away it needs to be frozen really? Even if its within 2 days? What the hell? Im going to have to find someplace else and its as shame because its in my neighborhood. Ive read the reviews, the staff is awesome, the not so fresh.

Last year I got a 10 point buck took it to them to have it caped and went ahead and had them processed the meat even though Ive always processed mine before every dear Ive ever got Ive processed myself never had one piece of hair ever in any grind that I did. On the other hand they did to 22 pounds of grind for me and every single package has had multiple hairs in it I find that unexcusable. One piece of hair in one package would have been fine but not multiple hairs in every single package I had to throw it all out I cant give it to anybody I cant use it myself. Its dog food. And really how do you call and tell a butcher that he is left hair from your deer in every package of grind theyll just want to argue with you and tell you it didnt happen so its not even worth my time. I would give them no stars if I could.

We travel quite a ways every 2 weeks to get to The Meat Shop. They have great, well rounded bundle packages and allow customers to swap out items for additional customization. The meat is always fresh and the staff is friendly.

Their meat is delicious but I do wish they gave fresh meat instead of frozen when you pick up a bundle. Every time we got the seafood bundle, it came frozen.

Im interested in trying various bundles for the freezer, but not willing to without sampling a variety first. The items Ive tried have been on point with a solid butcher shop with each purchase & I will most likely be ready to try a bundle my next trip. I was pleasantly surprised to find the amount of variety in their bundles & the amount of bundles they have available.

What a joke.Ordered a bulk meat package that was not ready by the date promised. Called 4 days after it was supposed to be ready (we were told they would call when it was ready) and was on hold for 5 minutes while they tried to determine if they had our order or not. Finally someone told us that they only had part of our order, they found the ticket, but no longer had all the meat, and didnt know why we hadnt been called . They offered to make substitutions for the items, we told them what we wanted, and they then told us that we could pick it up anytime.We arrived at the Meat Shop 2 hours later and the women at the counter had no idea what we were talking about. We explained again....... We waited for 25 minutes while they fumbled around in the freezer to put together the order that we were told was ready to pick up. While we waited, another customer came in to pick up an order that was also a week late. They left empty handed.At the register they tried to charge us 2 times the price that we were quoted and that is advertised on their fliers. When we questioned the price difference they actually became rude with us. We did the math for them on paper with the prices from their price list. They adjusted the price and told us to Take our meat and get the hell out of there.We did and wont be back.

The prices are cheaper than Fresh Thyme but, the meat isnt in the same ball park. The bundles are of good value, the shop clean, but like I said, the meat isnt impressive. The ground beef patties are thin and basic the chicken was good but I add alot to it. The new York steak came out chewy and hard to eat... Alot of grisle.

The absolute best filet! Ive been coming here for awhile now and cant find a better place for a filet and the catfish is amazing too, real nice with a buttermilk batter and a deep fryer :D

Its nothing like the Eastside meat shop. The guy who took my order ran off so fast I had to call him back to tell him how i wanted my meat and the substitutions. He didnt even ask as the usually do at the Eastside meat shop. My husband and I didnt feel welcomed or that homey touch.. prices are higher.. I miss the Eastside one and Pierre and his staff. The meat was good thats about it. I didnt come here just for the meat I was expecting it to have great customer service as well. It did not. But again the meat is good quality but looking for somewhere else.

Went there yesterday and bought a rack of baby backs and a rack of spare ribs, while standing in line I noticed a pot roast in the display case had greenish spots on it (like bad meat) also noticed the same thing on some short ribs in the case! I should have left then but I figured since ribs were wrapped in shrink wrap and looked ok I would ahead with it. Got the baby backs home and unwrapped them and the house was immediately filed with a horrific smell like sewer gas.We took back, the guys told us the meat was gassy but not bad, I did some reading there is such a thing, but Im not talking any chances I have had food poisoning from pork before I not eating anything that smells like that. I went to Sams club theirs never smell like that!!!SO, NO MORE MEAT SHOP FOR ME!

Was in the Meat Shop last Thursday, and was ignored the entire time I was there. Attempted to get meat from the female employee, who was in the middle of helping with my requests, but her friend came into the store. They were still engaging in conversation ten minutes later while my friend was checking out. During the wait, I saw a rat run across the front of the meat counter, and that was it. Didnt even wait for her to finish her conversation. I had been there long enough and had seen too much. Really enjoyed going there, buying most of our meat there. I was off to Klauses on the southside-longer drive from the westside, but really paid off. They were bright, cheerful, full of suggestions, and very customer-oriented. They have been around for years-even going back to the days when they were in the city market. Indy Meat Shop has always been one of our stops when it comes to meat, but those days are gone. Clean up the rat poop and get your employees to be more on point when it comes to customers. Ignoring them to long gives them a real feel for what is going on in that shop
