Took a massive amount of jewelry merchandise to consign. Owner did NOT give me a receipt or anything in writing to validate this action? Just a store “business card”?... and asked me to return in 3 business days? Yet she then contacted me the next day VIA TEXT accepting about 45% of my items. When I asked her will I receive a written contract from her which include “obviously“ my name, number of items, profit percent, pay day...etc..... she said: “NO! the contract is this TEXT? Reply “yes”🤨 I asked her again, “Will I not received something in writing from you?” ( mind you, I previously went to another consignment store, where they gave me a ticket at the time of “drop off”.. ticket had my name, address, phone number, my account, name of store, date & consignment rules and regulations.😉 then when they accepted my merchandise, then I signed a contract- they sent me a link to create an online account which shows ALL my items being consigned, item #, item description, date it was dropped off, date it was sold, profit amount I made and date I will get paid!!! NOW that’s How a Consignment Business Should be ran!😎).....,. Well after I asked her again if I’d get anything in writing, she still said: “NO!”😟 I then created a contract for us both, I copied and paste the percentage that she verbally told me along with the day she verbally told me, pay day and I included my info & store info since I didn’t even know her name?? The rest of the contract papers were just basic rules and regulations that I found online from General consignment store. I then took a picture of each page and text it to her as I was heading out to meet with her again.. As soon as I sent her the written contract, She withdrew from the entire deal and said: “ I will pass on ALL your items.”😨..... then when I went to pick up my items, she told me in person that she withdrew because “I didn’t Trust Her word!”🤦🏾♀️ ( how can I trust you if I don’t know You! And how can I trust you if you refuse to put our Conversation on a Documentation???🗣) As soon as I walked in, she was so upset at ME!😯 and lashed out on how she was so mad for me creating a written contract for us both? (I had 2 identical copies) ...so morale of the story: “Don’t trust a person or business word? If they refuse to give you something in writing, then there’s something very Fishy about the business!! It’s 2020!! No one makes verbal agreement at the time of a job, renting a property, buying a property, getting married, contracting..... ETC!! ALL agreements must be on paper and signed by both parties! Documentation always beats Conversation!Texting a client “yes” is not how a business is ran? It may be an inicial step but not the ONLY or Final step! 🤦🏾♀️
