This is a great spot tucked away on the old Fort Benjamin Harrison grounds. The staff was very attentive, friendly, and efficient. However, we have some criticisms about three food. I ordered the corned beef hash and was underwhelmed. It was a LOT of potatoes and very little corned beef. Also the potatoes were a little undercooked. My wife ordered the French toast and she noted what appeared to be the use of allspice on the preparation. While she enjoyed that different flavor note she felt it was a little strong. Finally the coffee was very weak to our tastes. I want to reiterate that the staff was wonderful, the restaurant bright and clean and the atmosphere pleasant. Im not certain if the volume of orders overwhelmed the kitchen or what. But the food didnt match the test of the experience.
Food was very good, but I ended up waiting about 30 minutes for my takeout. Was supposed to be ready at 9:18 for pickup, but didnt get it until 9:45. Now, to be fair, folks dining in got their meals quickly.
Kat was wonderful. Took care of everything we needed. Was very polite and sweet. She made my first experience at this restaurant a pleasant one!!
We had a party of 18/20 on a Saturday morning with Cindy as our server. She did an amazing job and made our first time at Cafe Audrey memorable. We will definitely be back! The food was fantastic and the coffee was probably the best I have had. Thank you for taking such good care of our group!
Food was excellent, but service a little slow. I will go back, it’s worth the wait.
Been here several times and always a wonderful experience. Todays service however was very bad. Rude server told us she couldnt read minds and when we inquired if our salad would come prior to meal, she said they have to make it before she could bring it. Service would have been better on a conveyor belt from kitchen to our table as this server was so rude and inattentive.
Literally the best omlette I have ever had! Service was a little subpar. In fairness it was close to closing time and we were sitting outside. Took forever to get our food, even longer to get a check, and the were out of mimosas which is the primary reason we came. Still tipped well because Im not a jerk and will give them another shot based on food quality alone.
I really liked it. Cute place with good food. And surprisingly, my kids who are incredibly picky, liked their food as well. The staff is helpful, generous, and a lot of fun as well.I enjoyed my experience! I will be back!
WOW! While visiting the area for business training we had a group of 6 or so stop by for lunch. Many good choices on the menu and wish I could have come back a couple of times.Service was great, food was awesome. Had good unsweet ice tea too--a rarity in the industry. A couple in my group had Arnold Palmers and they were awesome too. I had the Buff Chicken sandwich with blue chess and fries--unreal. It was the best chicken sandwich Ive had in recent memory. And this statement is after trying the Chiks, McDs, Wendys, Popeyes and anyone else who has tried to jump into this craze...Wish I lived in town....need to go back soon.
Absolutely magnificent experience with stellar food and service! I hate to post a review this good because I want to keep them all to myself lol.
Vegetarian Eggs Benedict were so good on my first visit (last Saturday) that I went back and had them again the very next day. Nice atmosphere & good service. Excellent menu - much to pick from. Loved the array of coffees and add-ins available on the help yourself coffee bar. We definitely got our moneys worth!
I often go here with my family because we love it but I went today for lunch by myself and it was delicious as usual! I usually get the hand battered chicken strips and french fries and they are ALWAYS so delicious, crunchy and fresh! Kenzie was an awesome server!
Breakfast and lunch spot..food was good..coffee bar was different..but really good..Definitely busy on Saturday and Sunday
Some of the best breakfast. The mimosas was good and not watered down like some places Ive been before and they were $2.99 which isnt bad at all. Self serve coffee/tea bar which was a delight. Cant wait to go back!
Left after seeing the prices. Too expensive for the type of food they served. Ate at the restaurant across from them that was more reasonable and good food.
Great food and friendly service. Nice place to visit with friends.
Absolutely wonderful! Pleasant atmosphere, fast and friendly service, reasonable prices...the unlimited coffee bar is great! Food hit the spot! We will definitely be going back!
Went in, saw how packed the place was, with hardly anybody wearing a mask. In the middle of the Delta variant onslaught. Really? Sorry, Im allergic to Covidiots! You feel like defying death, be my guest: I wont be joining you, thank you very much. Now, before leaving the place, I asked for an outside table, and was told they had a bad bee problem there. Which was true. So, if the only alternatives were getting Covid or being stung to death by bees... I had to take a third one: see ya!!!
The Eggs Benedict was great with the fried potatoes although the ham was too salty. The strawberry salad with the tomato basil soup were also unique and delicious ! Our server was very good and she did not hover. I will look forward to visiting Cafe Audrey again .
I dont know what is going on with Audrey Cafe Ft. Benjamin Harrison Location. The food quality has gone down. My family and I ordered there on multiple occasions. Each time, Im missing something or the food is not good. This pass Saturday we ordered, the pancakes were thick and hard to swallow the it was barely and cream cheese sauce on our cinnamon pancakes. The young lady that took our ordered for got to put our turkey sausage in my grandchild order. The eggs taste like liquid eggs in a carton, so gross. I
Service from Sam was excellent. As for the food and management -- TERRIBLE. My wife ordered the Veggie Quiche and my selection was the Audreys Special (2 eggs, bacon, fried potatoes and an english muffin).Quiche is supposed to be light and fluffy, but too many ingredients make the quiche too dense. Audreys are too dense and crust over baked [top rack baked].My Special came with fried potatoes that were never baked first. They were raw potatoes that rested on a griddle or skillet for about 60 seconds. I asked the waitress, Sam, if I could have potatoes that were cooked thoroughly. Instead of taking my plate, she went to the kitchen and brought out another batch of undercooked (not fried) potatoes. By that time, my eggs were cold. The good part of the meal was the bacon and muffin... the only part I ate.I very nicely asked Sam if I could just have the uncooked potatoes and cold eggs taken off the bill. I would pay for my wifes coffee and quiche plus pay for the bacon and muffin I ate. I had water to drink. She left to talk with her supervisor. An older woman, who never identified herself, walked to my table and asked about my request. I said very politely and tactfully the potatoes were raw and my eggs were cold by the time the second revision of the potatoes arrived. She said she would give me a 50% discount on my Audreys Special order only. The supervisor as well as the waitress told me their cook is new and this is his second day [I assumed, working at Cafe Audreys]. I would think a reputable restaurant would have a fully qualified cook/chef working on day one. But, I heard for the third time its only his second day. Something I never heard at First Watch or even Waffle House. Then, for the heck of it, I asked why I was charged 50 cents for a plastic cup of iced tap water. The supervisor said, I have to pay for the water, the ice and the cup. Since the pandemic, we have to recoup our losses someway. Even McDonalds now charges for ice water.I said I dont eat at McDonalds so I dont know. Why charge for tap water? Then repeatedly the older woman asked me, at least five times, Why not? Why not charge for water? At that point, I knew I would never set foot in a cafe with unqualified cook or a ower/supervisor/customer relations runner up. Horrible customer-facing skillset. Maybe Sam would have been better suited to be running the establishment. My advice... there are many breakfast cafes in the Fort Ben area. You would be better served to seek somewhere other than Cafe Audreys.
Great breakfast, if near bldg 1 at old ft. ben harrison.
Absolutely no vegan options. They are listed online as having vegan options but when I called immediately they said we have no vegan options. So sad
Lovely place would recommend. They have a self serve coffee bar with multiple options! The adult pancakes are to die for.
Very friendly, homey feeling. Great breakfast. Will definitely return.
An awesome place to catch healthy and delicious lunch after hiking at Fort Ben. Love their coffee. Cant say enough good things about them.
Yet another hidden gem in Indianapolis (Lawrence). Best omllets and even better cinnamon roll pancakes (warning.. the short stack is HUGE 🙂). Will definitely come back when Im in the area.
Terrific food and excellent service, Ive gone there with my family a couple of times and couldnt be happier.
We have always loved coming here for breakfast. But when we went Friday we were waiting to be seated for about 40 minutes. Not once did someone some up and greet us, or apologize for the wait. Three people came in after us, we were seated first, but the waitress took all of their orders before ours so that was frustrating. Finally we were seated, and an hour later we got our drinks ordered. Finally after an hour and a half we got our food. The food was terrible, my veggie quiche was disgusting. The crust was falling apart and the actual quiche itself was so dry I could barely eat it. The manager came over and took a percent off of our bill, which was very nice of her. My brother ordered the biscuits and sausage gravy, he said that was good. But the fried potatoes were raw and oily, he couldn’t even eat them. He ordered a side of scrambled eggs, that had crumbles of biscuit all over them, and the eggs were served on a separate plate and brought later. So he didn’t even eat those at all. We used to loved coming here but it’s going down hill. We will be finding a new local restaurant to go to.
This place is a freakin 🔥 it was mine and my friend first time, the food the is 🔥,the atmosphere is has a at home feel and the hostess was s very nice and cheerful.
The best French Toast Ive ever had. Great self serve coffee/tea station. Usually have to wait to sit, but worth it.
Amazing comfort food with a quaint eating at grandmas sort of vibe. Nice outdoor seating available and great for kids! Mimosas are a must to try especially the MegaMosa!
Very cool spot. Very good pancakes
My wife and I came in for lunch. Miss personality saw that I was in a walker and with 4 vacant tables that I could see we were told there was a 30 minute wait. No thank you .wont be back.
Got the short stack pancakes and they were delicious. The staff is very friendly and we were greeted with a smile. I will be recommending this restaurant to everyone. 👍
Good food, good service. Self serve coffee. Can get quite loud inside.
Cozy cafe for lunch daily specials always friendly staff.
Ive been to Cafe Audrey several times. I love that it is nestled in the Fort Ben area. I look forward to their daily specials and was not disappointed last week with their Umami burger! This was a wonderful assortment of flavors that you just cant explain. The best, most unique burger I have ever had. This has to be on a rotating basis. I will be back again and again. Dont miss this little gem of arestaurant.
Will not return. As a Fort Ben local, Cafe Audrey has been my go to breakfast spot for years. But things are going downhill...fast. My last 3 visits have all had issues (messed up order, long to-go wait times) but I still supported a favorite local joint because mistakes happen. We ordered the meat quiche and superfood omelet both with a side of potatoes. The quiche was clearly days old...chewy crust, hardening surface. The omelet was drastically overcooked but nothing compared to the raw and oil drenched fried potatoes. Every single thing we ordered was bland and cooked improperly. After politely letting our server know the situation, she went to talk to the owner about it. The owner refused to discount any of the meal. Instead, we were given a gift card that covered a portion of the total bill. All of this came from our server as the owner never came to speak with us.This is the second time a server has openly talked poorly about the ownership/management of the Cafe. Seems like the servers are onto something....
Great coffee and great breakfast options. Well kept secret in the Ft. Ben footprint. Everything is a hit and really well priced.
Food was 4 plus stars. Service was good. The price was very high. It is the highest place I have been to for breakfast. They charged me $13.50 for a French toast breakfast. 2 slices French toast, two eggs, two slices of bacon and some fried potatoes. They charged me $3.25 for a cup of coffee that I never got. You self serve the coffee there but I never went up and got coffee. Yet she charged my wife and I $3.25 each for coffee. Its one thing to pay 3.25 for a cup of coffee. It is another thing to pay 3.25 for a cup of coffee when you have to go get it yourself. I ordered one cinnamon roll pancake too. Not a stack just a single cinnamon roll pancake. They put a little bit of cinnamon on it and some cinnamon roll icing and they charged $5. $5 for 1 pancake. The experience was enjoyable as my wife and I had breakfast together which was the most important thing. The atmosphere was good, but I will not return due to the very high prices.
Cozy place. Great service. Fantastic food 😁
Good is amazing and the service is spectacular. We love this little place!
I had egg salad and chicken salad sandwich. Yummy. Mac and cheese side was excellent.
Best restaurant and date ever. Love you Taylor Lynn Russell.
Awesome location, attentive and friendly staff, and a great menu... their originals are worth the try.
The staff is veryattentive. Food great.
Very good food and coffee. Prices are very reasonable for the portion size especially given the entire menu seems to be actual locally sourced rather than wholesale food delivery. Anybody complaining about portion size here must be confusing Audrey with the chain pancake place across the street that has grossly oversized portions for more money that arent half the quality.
Great food as always. If youve ever been to Audreys you know its small so I was a bit concerned when going in since this was my first time eating out since the pandemic. But that faded when I saw that everyone was social distanced and servers wearing mask and doing extra cleaning. Great job 👏🏽👍🏽👌🏽. Cant wait to go back....
I did not like the salsa, but the chicken Quesadilla s were amazing without it. Customer service was great. It was too many people inside but no one could eat outside due to the weather.
Amazing, everything was homemade and delicious. Best place for breakfast in Indy!
Chicken salad was good just perfect. Not very filling way I like..
Me and my family went to this restaurant today for the first time. Soon as you walk the greeter was welcoming and we got seated loved the easy to navigate menu on picking items. I was a little thrown off about getting your own coffee and picking your own cup but at the same time I liked it food was delicious. The only reason I did not give four stars is as we was leaving the restaurant the server Alyson yell out “did I not give you good service” my sister stated yes serves was good and Alyson stated “oh I was wondering cause u only left a five dollar tip.” We all was taken back that she actually ten out side to say that and five was all the cash that she had I did feel that was very distasteful to run after someone about a tip...
Good atmosphere, great food, awesome service.
Very good breakfast food.
I love the staff here! The potatoes were good, but a little bland.
Really nice historical looking Cafe. Service was good.the sandwiches we had were delicious. Place was clean and pleasant. Ill be back to try some of their other menu items.
Good food! Good customer service! I will return.
Great place for lunch. Cozy little diner. Friendly staff. Excellent food. Definitely try if you get the chance.
Thats it --- that small building at 9134 Otis Avenue, just a little off 56th St., near Jockamos Pizza. Thats the place to go for breakfast. (Its more expensive than fast food, but not outrageous, and this is not cookie-cutter food.) Ive never tried non-breakfast items here. The eggnog french toast is superb. The quiche is wonderful (perhaps not quite wonderful if you dont like quiche with beans, but theres a variety.) And omelettes? Oh yes. And my bacon was just the way I like it. Our service from Kayla was excellent. The arrangement regarding coffee (Get a Cup And Pour Yourself Some Coffee) might be something that some customers could be challenged to get used to, but I found it unproblematic. Though small, the building has a nice homey ambience. I found nothing to dislike (well, maybe too much sunshine, but its not like they can turn off the sun); breakfast and Cafe Audrey go together like bacon and eggs! First-rate!
Wow, those cinnamon roll pancakes.....delectable! Omelet was bacon heavy which I liked, of course, but would have preferred less to taste the other flavors. Good job! Will be back!
First time visit for us and we enjoyed it very much. We came at 8:30 on a Sunday morning, before it got busy. Amanda was our server and was great. The coffee was good, the food was very good. This place seems to be liked by a lot of people and I hope they can expand and get a bigger place, because it is quite small.
Our cul de sac ladies enjoyed a scrumptious meal! Very homey!
Always phenomenal service and excellent food!
The tea is always exactly how I like it. My daughter alo enjoys these. We try different flavors. I recommend the kiwi & peach fruit tea.
Food was delicious! Inside was really warm but it was a great experience!
Was a wonderful experience visiting the fort today. The food that Audreys was excellent. Also excellent service. Friendly staff.
The eggs benedict were the best I have ever had!
Delicious food, unique atmosphere, wonderful staff. A great spot to bring girlfriends for a lunch date!
I had their sandwiches and loved them. Reasonably priced, quiet location. Great place to chill and unwind.
The food here was good, but it was very crowded and noisy.
Audreys is one of my favorite local restaurants. I like to walk at Ft Harrison State Park them stop in here for brunch.
Average. Warm coffee albeit 10:30 am. Wont likely return, nothing terribly wrong, just kinda ba blah blah, know what I mean?
We’ve been here countless of times! Their huevos rancheros is the best menu item ever! I keep coming back for them, absolutely yummy. Honestly, every menu item my husband and I have had here is the best. I recommend this place to everyone. It’s super homey and all the wait staff is extremely friendly and attentive.
Delicious food and wonderful service
Great açaí bowls and wonderful service! Nice and breezy cafe, and I cant wait to try other options!
Wonderful food and cute place. Big portions and the french toast was one of the best Ive ever had.
Delicious food. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere and the self-serve coffee keep me coming back!
I judge breakfast places by biscuits & gravy -- I would rather have IHOP B&G. House baked biscuits were grainy and soft (became mush in the gravy), gravy was bland, and sausage was nearly flavorless. I had a great customer service experience, and I havent tried anything else, but dont waste your time on the B & G.Edit 4.6.19 they still have not responded to defend their B.G. so confirmed do not waste your money.Edit 5.30.19 still no response, I want to give them another chance but I see fresh responses to positive reviews and zero response to mine. Im not trying to slander or be a jerk.
Cinnamon roll pancakes were delicious!
Excellent, low-key diner. Located in one of the historic Fort Benjamin Harrison buildings.
Small place with very good food. Good service.
Normally my Biscuits in gravy Be far but today it was horrible Biscuits was hard gravy with real water could Eat it
I saw the restaurant featured on Fox59 and wanted to try it. I was very impressed. The food was fabulous as was the bloody Mary. A great feature is the coffee bar. Service was top notch.
The 5 cheese grilled sandwich was delicious and chicken quesadilla was great!
Great food! Love their veggie quiche
