Didnt realize how big RC cars had become. With the amount of floor space allotted to them, I would have to assume you can get anything you want for one there. Neat place!

I went with my husband and daughter. Got them some Christmas presents. The fellas who checked me out made sure the presents couldnt be seen!! Then my husband and daughter bought RC cars and they were soo helpful!! Such an amazing staff. 10/10 would reccomend for your creative needs.

Got some model kits here and the prices were awesome! Better than a lot of what I saw online! Awesome customer service, the workers knew a lot about model kits and were able to answer all my questions and help me get the right stuff. I will definitely be coming back!

We get my sons model railroad parts here. Hes thinking of getting into RC airplanes and rocketry and they carry a wide assortment of kits for every age group and ability level.

I havent stepped in a Hobbytown in over 20 years, because they closed the CA locations. This was just like I remember it when I was a kid. It was like walking down memory lane. Friendly knowledgeable staff and an amazing selection of everything. I love Lionel trains so, this was refreshing to be able to have access to everything I need to repair and expand my set.Thank You.

Absolutely awful customer service! Bought a RC boat that did not work out of the box and was told I could not return it. Unbelievably bad customer service!In response to the comment from the owner: the boat didn’t turn left right out of the box. It didn’t work. A refund or exchange for an “unused” item doesn’t make sense. The only way to know if it works or not is to use it. I wouldn’t care this much if it was my $100. Unfortunately my 10 year old son cut lawns to earn money to buy this and now he is getting a life lesson to just buy things from Amazon so that you are protected from terrible customer service like this.

I don’t normally go to the trouble of leaving reviews but I had to in this case. I am brand new to the RC world and I have never met a more helpful bunch of people than at the Indianapolis/Castleton store. Everyone in the store has been extremely helpful and each one is very knowledgeable in all areas. I especially want to point out and thank Bob for going the extra mile to help me have a successful and enjoyable experience. He is a tremendous asset to the store. Thank you hobby town and thank you everyone in the store for all of your help and your great positive attitudes and thank you to the owner for hiring such great people.

This looks more like a toy store and not a hobby shop. The location on the north side of the city is much better but it is about an hour drive so I deal with the one south unless I am coming from the north to go home from work.

Came in today asking questions about getting into RC cars and the staff was amazingly helpful. Answered any questions I had as well as answered questions that newbies normally have.No matter where I browsed in the store, I was asked if I needed help.I had an amazing customer experience.

I have been driving by this place for a long time. I finally stopped in. Great place. Ive always wanted a 3d printer but couldnt afford one. They have one. A nice one for 399.00. Must have.

They stock almost anything you could need for an rc car. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful staff. Best store for rc cars and parts in the city imo.

Ok so I bought a slot car track kit for $309.00.It was on Amazon for $289.00. It cost me $20 to be able to walk into a local store, grab it off the shelf....Walk out and be racing in 30 minutes! ... and help employ someone who is into the same hobbies that I am into. Support your little shops! Or they will be gone. These guys are awesome.

Lots more variety of products than Michaels or Hobby Lobby. If youre into models or RC stuff this is the hobby store for you. Prices seem fair compared to the other stores and online retailers.

Started out rough, ended well. My first interaction(didnt catch his name) was with a African American male(employee, mind you) who was too absorbed in gloating about his hopper car on a trailer, to help a customer, me. He gave me attitude, was cold, rude, and short. I was DIGUSTED. I drove 4 hours with a full wallet, yet was seconds from walking out and driving home 4 hours empty handed.And thats when Steve stepped in. Older gentlemen who was very knowledgeable, very helpful, and very willing to do their job they are paid to do. I can not express this enough, the only reason I spent any money was because of Steve. Seriously.I spent a hour in the store, and never left the ground rc section. Motors, escs, batteries, relievers, transmitters,oils,parts, tools,lights, and so much more.They have planes, trains, trucks, cars, crawlers, puzzles, models, and more hobby things. Clean, tidy, and nice. Biggest selection of rc cars Ive seen in a store in some time! Not to mention the in store crawler course..Hope this helped!

This is always a place I go as a last resort or if I don’t want to wait to order online. If you aren’t buying a traxxas truck or some horizon hobby helicopter/plane, don’t expect to get any real help. Every time I ask for something an employee isn’t familiar with, they act like you’re an idiot.

Went in to purchase some small parts and ask questions. They have an ever growing selection worth checking and there knowledge is honest.

I was looking for a new hobby since covid hit, so I went to look at a RC car early October. A month later I have three. The employees say thats normal, but I am highly suspicious. At any rate, they know what they are talking about, and see very helpful. Just be wary of the spells the RC cars put on you. Youll wake up with a house full. Oh, and they are run. I highly recommend one of each.

I purchased a lipo battery charger and balancer. The instruction booklet was insane! Went back to return it, and with there help they explained to me how to use it so I kept it! Very pleased with their service there!

So this was a first visit not much more than a drive-by or a drive-thru in this case. From what I could see this store is extremely well stocked there was plenty of help I like it over here some very knowledgeable conversations with the staff and customers. I do fly camera drones and I do play with RC construction material and vehicles so I will be back

Purchased a new Rustler 4x4 VXL. It overheats on every run. No matter what I do. I did every suggestion Hobbytown ask. I bought fans for the ESC and motor. I ran it on pavement only. I ran it in training mode. I downgraded from 3s Lipo to 2s. Still overheats. When I ask them to swap out for a new one. Hard no. The most they could do was buy mine back at a reduced rate. So now I have to ship my week old RC to Traxxas for up to 3 weeks. Everyone always says support your local hobby shops and I want to do that. However they just dont care that Ive had these issues. Sadly if I would bought it from Amazon I would have got a no questions asked refund and new one in a matter of days. So why bother supporting my local hobby shop.Response to the owner: Ive been in there more than a half dozen times. At no time did anyone offer to keep it to work on. At no time did anyone offer to work with Traxxas on my behalf. I even handed it over so they could drive it out back. It was handed right back and I was told to buy a fan. After doing everything I was ask to do and still getting the overheating issue thats When I ask about a swap. The answer I got was no but they could buy it back at a reduced cost. Thats a slap in the face. No solution was ever given to me other than buying more parts.Final: After I sent my Rustler to Traxxas it was found to have a defective ESC out of the box. Thanks.

I was disappointed in my visit. had been planing it for awhile because of the distance away from me and I purchased over 200.00 dollars of parts and a kit from Orlando hunter from them on line. Just to have the guy behind the counter on airplane desk tell me it was Chinese junk. when I was trying to buy a charger for a 2 pin micro plug( jst ph ) which they act like dosent exist. So I put back the stuff I was going to buy and left with a very disappointed feeling they have so much stuff I would like to buy but not when Im treated so poorly. Will not be back to store and the guy behind the counter actually told me to buy my Chinese junk on line that they sold me.Update: Thank you Bill Scott for your quick response. Please understand Hobby Town store is one of the best stocked hobby shops I have ever seen and is a good place for everyone to shop at for just about any hobby. Yes I had a bad experience this time but I am not looking for normal hobby grade parts so please dont let my review stop any one from shopping here this is the best place for anyone looking for just the right gift. For the most part the staff is very helpful and this is a good place to make a day trip. You will be glad you took the time to drive here. Over 25 years ago I started coming here with my kids we had a blast coming here thats back whenT Maxx was all the rage I have many wonderful memories here with my kids and would recommend any parent getting there kids in here to enjoy what ever hobby they are interested in.

So I havent been to a Hobby Town since the one near Green Wood closed. It was my one stop for all Gundam needs. I finally decided to make the one hour drive and found it to be a waste of time. Ive seen a better selection of models at Barnes and Nobel. The employee that checked us out was rude and unhelpful. I inquired about an item only to find it wasnt in stock. He never offered to order it and kinda blew it off. Its ok Ill take my business to usagundamstore.com.

There a little over a week ago. Purchased a barrage gen2 and had an amazing experience there. The man who sold me the truck was very knowledgeable and helpful. He gave me tips and told me lots about the hobby as Im just getting in it. For his first day Id say hes one of the best. Amazing experience go check it out!
