Yesterday, I called the company and Hunter came out the same day very apologetic about the time-evening which I was ecstatic to get an appointment same day I called. He came back in less than 24 hours. Other companies said 1) cant do it 2) you need to replace panel which will take 4-5 months 3) you need to get a whole new door.Hunter reached a strip at a fraction of the cost. Such a nice gentleman. Was very respectful.

Called to get a ballpark quote on replacing a sprimg. They refused to give a price over the phone and said $129 service call plus cost of springs. As soon as technician arrived he said the springs are $200 each and thats the cost of all their springs except special order styles. Seems like a bunch of BS they werent able to quote when every other company could. Sent the man on his way without paying their service call fee. I wont use then again.

Jaclyn was really quick and did great work! I was originally told shed be here between 1-4, but she was actually able to come earlier, and was done within 1 hr. She explained to me what exactly was happening and gave me some really useful and simple tips for maintenance. I felt like it was a bit on the expensive side, but I think thats partly due to the same day service.

Our garage doors were terrible. The safety feature that should make the door go back up if something is in the path, didnt work - so the door would keep going and bend at the top. Our opener was so old, that our doors would open when our neighbors opened their own. We were thrilled when Garage Doors of Indianapolis installed two new doors and a new opener for us. They even went the extra mile by installing new bracket hardware rather than using the existed ceiling mounts. The crew that came out were very friendly and professional. I would recommend Garage Doors of Indianapolis to all of my family and friends. Its funny how excited you can be for something as simple as garage doors, but they do more than you realize when they dont work - Like protect our family at night and our stuff while were gone.

My door installation was not the cause of this low rating, although my door is less than 4 months old has been serviced once with another service call on the way. My experience is for the accounting and customer service! Each time I was sent an invoice with the wrong amount owed. When I would call, I would be given another amount which was also wrong. I was told they have a new person who did not know what she was doing. Not my fault! Record keeping I would think, should be top priority for a business. Lastly, I get this very nasty and intimidating letter saying I better pay or else with once again the wrong amount and when I called I was quoted $200 more than the nasty letter I received. BOTH WERE WRONG! When I questioned the amounts, I was the one treated like the criminal and was talked to in a very rude manner. Needless to say, I pay for quality, I wish I had not purchased a brand new door from this company if this is how they treat customers when THEY ARE THE ONES WHO HAVE BAD ACCOUNTING PRACTICES! I have no problem paying for quality services and expect that in return. I regret this purchase.

STAY AWAY! Called, due to my garage door being screwed up. They were happy to make an appointment. The tech, Matt, came out and looked at the door. Seemed like he knew what he was talking about, and within minutes, told me that for $499 he could fix it right now. I told him Id like to talk to my wife about it. At no point in time am I told that I will be charged or billed anything. Two weeks pass, and I get a bill in the mail for Service, even though Matt did literally nothing, other than tell me it would be $500 to fix it. I write them an email explaining how I was never told I would be billed. They call me the next morning, and tell me theyll give me half off the bill. I explain to them, that I was never told anything about a service charge, and she just says Sorry, but I can only do half. I dont understand how you can just send people $192 bills in the mail, when your guy did nothing, literally nothing. What a joke of a company.

In 2019, we called Garage Doors of Indianapolis for a routine garage door tune up, in accordance with their Tune Up Special that was offered via coupon found in a routine post office delivery package.the cost of this Tune Up Special was $59.Garage Doors of Indianapolis sent out a middle-aged gentleman who lubricated the rollers. That was it!I wrote out the check for the service and didnt think anymore of it. Six months later one of our spring coils broke and we called a competitor of Garage Door of Indianapolis. This competing company pointed out a half dozen concerns they had with our garage door, things that should have been pointed out at a regular Tune Up. Once they pointed out these things, i realized that the tune up that we got from Garage Doors of Indianapolis was nothing more that a wheel greasing scam. Please be weary of this practice with Garage Doors of Indianapolis.

Im not happy with the quality of the doors I purchased from Garage Doors of Indianapolis. I believe they knowingly sold me a poorly designed unit that had been discontinued. The spring/cable system broke after less than two years of very light duty. The lock on the other door is very sticky and needs to be fiddled with in order to get it unlocked. I expressed my unhappiness with the quality of the doors to the service tech that came to fix my door. I told him Id like to speak to the owner about my dissatisfaction with the doors. He told me good luck they dont care. I dont even get to speak to the owner. I told him that garage doors should last longer than two year especially with very light use. They door was stuck halfway open and the tech didnt have the parts on the truck to fix the door. I asked him if he could get the door to shut which involved snip two cables. He said he was charging me $129 to snip the cables and shut the door. I asked him to leave and told him Id find another garage door company to help me. I cut the cables myself. It only took 2 minutes. I told him the tech that installed the doors warned me that there was a danger of locking yourself in due to the design of the door. He told me that Youd have to be a F&^%ing idiot to lock yourself in.

I called and placed a service order, told the dispatcher I may need some other things done. Technician showed up and did not have supplies for the work. Said he would like to reschedule for the following week. So I took off work another 1/2 day the next week. The same technician shows up and about 35 minutes into the job, he gets a call from his wife who can’t get their vehicle out of first gear. He says sorry and repeatedly talks to her, even asking her to send pictures of the dash to try and help with a paddle shifter. This goes on for about 30 minutes and continues throughout the job. Not very appropriate in front of a customer. He would not accept a coupon I wanted to use, but said I could call the billing department tomorrow and pay the bill by phone. He said there was a coupon I could use on their website for $30 dollars off the bill. When I called, the lady said that I couldn’t use the coupon because it was not a tune-up order. So I had her explain what is the difference. Be careful what they charge you for, she was not very friendly at all, finally took the $30 dollars off. We have been customers for years, even buying new doors in different homes. After this kind of treatment, we are done with Garage Doors of Indy. Instead of asking me my model, or any questions, she told me my ONLY option was to buy a new motor for $600. End of conversation. After some googling I learned I already had the $600 motor and even if I didnt there are HUNDREDS of other monitoring options, that may just not be sold by you specifically. I called because a spring broke on my door. The service was good and the tech did a great job. My complaint is the cost and the fact I bought a garage door from them 6 1/2 years ago and the springs they installed then were inside the tubing. I was told then that was for safety reasons. They charged me $529.00 for the correct springs when they came out on July 3rd. When I called the office to complain I was told that was a new product then and they did not realize those springs would only last 7 to 8 years. Mine lasted 6 1/2 years. My opinion is I went to a reputable company 6 1/2 years ago so I could be confident they knew their products and they would sell me a door (with springs) that I could count on for the 20 years or so that we expect these items to last. They fell short. I wont use them again.

Great install in an old, odd sized, not particularly modern garage door friendly detached garage. It was not cheap, but it was done professionally, on time, with quality components and I didnt have to lift a finger. They had to do a number of custom adjustments to make things work with our particularly odd garage openings and low rafter system, but everything worked well in the end.Everyone I interacted with was very friendly from the office to the installer. I didnt always get the follow-up calls that were mentioned, but it wasnt really an issue since nothing was being changed and there were no issues. We did have to wait 3 weeks for our doors to be ordered (we didnt go with the generic whit panel doors), but the date for install was set at our initial consult and never wavered from that timeline. They are keen on the up-sale, thats kind of how sales works. Know what you want out of the system and it will not be a problem. I accidentally backed into my (partially) closed garage door. I called Garage Doors of Indianapolis and made an appointment for inspection and repair. The serviceman, Hunter, was great! He arrived when scheduled, analyzed the problems with our garage door, and explained the options for repair completely, I selected the attempt to repair the door instead of replacing the damaged 2 panels. Hunter did a great job on the repairs so that the damage is almost unnoticeable now. Beyond my expectations.Hunter is also friendly and pleasant, but professional. I think he’s an asset to this fine company.

Replaced broken door with new one but clearly has an underpowered motor that squeals. Paid deposit then received no invoice or statements only to get a collection notice saying they’d tried to reach me many times. Total BS. FIND ANOTHER OPTION.

Full new unit installed in July. First day a warranty call was needed. By August, a second warranty call was needed. Now, I have another installation issue and....the warranty will cover the part but they want $119 for the labor. I could go further about the issues I had prior to getting the unit installed, but moral of the story here is dont buy new units here.

Garage door was installed 2.5 years ago, coils are going bad. GD of I warranty was only good for one year, which is odd for such a high price product. Anyway, a service man who looked at the door stated how GD of I is the only service that still uses such horrible coils. Would recommend looking at other businesses before going with GD of I.

Overhead doors originally did our work and I called them for a service because my garage door spring had broken. Overhead Doors did not take my call or show up but Indianapolis doors came in and saved the day and got me to work on time and fixed my door!!! Took my call and came at 11am on a 11-4pm window. Reasonable pricing and was finished in 40 min. Explained my bill and would trust them in my home. Definitely my go to when Im in garage door emergency. I dont have the name of the serviceman, but he impressed me. And it was pretty hot out there. Call these guys because they produce what we need...RESULTS

I always read reviews with a grain of salt as most people will only post bad experiences. Regardless I was hesitant to use these guys based on all the bad reviews. End of the day I needed my garage door fixed so I called them. They were great. Person on the phone was polite and listened to what I said. After asking a few questions they quoted me a price over the phone and said they could get to it that day between 4:00PM and 7:00PM. They also said the the service tech would call me when he was in route.Service tech did exactly that. Took him all of 20 minutes to replace the spring which had broken. Price was the same that was quoted on the phone. Im not sure if the price was competitive, but it seemed fair to me.

Our experience is honestly not worthy of a single star. On the morning of December 19, the spring snapped on our garage door. (Note they installed this originally and on their website, they suggest springs should last 15 - 20 years, not the 4 1/2 years this one lasted.) A technician from Garage Doors of Indianapolis replaced the spring. Unfortunately, we were unable to use the door until the night of Friday, the 22nd, having spent the week at a hospital with 2 of our children.Upon using the door on the 22nd, it was obvious that something happened during the repair as the door labored to open and close. We waited until the day after Christmas to call Garage Doors of Indianapolis back to our house. The technician at that point indicated that suddenly, gears had been stripped, obviously because of the struggle for the door to be opened, which had NEVER happened prior to the “repair.” He then proceeded to tell me that for reasons he can’t explain, that although Garage Doors of Indianapolis installed this opener 4 ½ years ago in a brand new house, they no longer repair Genie openers. (Interestingly enough, their website still indicates otherwise.) Conveniently, I was told because of this, I will now need a new opener from other brands they sell.My advice is beware and look for other options.

Garage door spring and sprocket broke at the same time and we called Garage Doors of Indianapolis to schedule repairs. Our repairman was Justin. He was very professional and did exactly what he said he would do to fix our door and at the price he quoted. We couldnt be more pleased with this experience and with Justin and the others we spoke with on the phone.. A first class operation!

I left work early to go to their showroom to order a garage door and opener. I rang the bell for service and one unsmiling guy appears behind the counter and tells me he thinks all the salespeople are at the home show. Then he disappears into the back for a couple minutes and then reappears to confirm that yep, there’s no one on the premises who knows anything about their products. No offer to take my info, have someone call me or anything.Interesting way to run a business. I will take mine to a company that’s friendly and actually wants to sell garage doors.

Worked performed today, so I CAN NOT comment on the quality yet, but I WILL soon, objectively, as it is fair to do. I CAN comment on the argumentative attitude of customer service though. The price went up $50 overnight, because I was not quoted on the phone in reality, I was given a guesstimate, and by the way, we do not give quotes over the phone. Who answered the phone yesterday? A 500-pound Russian hacker? Seriously.

I had Garage Doors of Indianapolis come to my home to diagnose problems I was having with both remote entry keypads. After a five minute exploration of our set up the technician diagnosed them as bad and suggested I buy two new ones at $60 apiece, which I did. Total for two new keypads plus site visit was close to $230. Only after he left did I realize the keypads were battery-powered and that they probably only needed fresh batteries to restore their correct operation. While I cant prove this, since the technician took the originals with him, I am disappointed that he did not even suggest this as a solution. Buyer beware! I will not be using them again for service!
