Favorite train store around Indy, lots of gently used options, especially HO scale. Great prices, owner is really nice guy
Im not from Indianapolis; I went here back in August and it was a good experience. They seem to have mostly HO but did have O-scale, N-scale and I think I did see a little bit of used S-scale. For HO they have a pretty good selection; from brass to used/parts items; and a good parts section too. They also have a pretty good section of railroad-related books. They have a LOT of stuff but the store seemed to be fairly well organized and I didnt have any problem finding my way around. I enjoyed digging through the used items and they have a lot of New Old Stock in original boxes. I thought their prices were quite reasonable. I got a NOS Athearn boxcar for $7; Id have paid twice that price had I bought it online. If you visit, plan to spend a little time because theres a LOT to see; and the next time Im in Indy, Ill definitely go by again.
Amazing first time experience. fantastic customer service and its really nice to see that such an old hobby is still running strong in Indiana I talked to a lot of the guys and they welcomed me with any questions that I had its inside my rusty 25-year-old model railroader who dropped the hobby for about 15 years and Im looking to pick it up.
Awesome store had everything I needed and great people, had very rare train cars!!!
Good place to find hard to find things in the hobby.
A very pleasant place to visit all shop but hes got a lot of stuff there
Is there a real good hobby store
Everyone was so helpful! Love this store!
Knowledgeable employees. Great store for model trains. Not the most little kid friendly store set up so thats why 4🌟rather then 5, but its also a small store.
Ive been going to train Center for years the owner is very knowledgeable and they moved to a new location after 19 years because they got forced out by their neighbor who wanted to use their spot for bubble puppy but they are at 17th and Shadeland and I would highly recommend using this place for all of your train needs
Great train shop with a good selection.
NOTE: Use the H&R Block nearby to get directions. Google will tale you to a bowling alley parking lot if you dontWent here on a whim since Im hoping to build my own layout soon. Selection was very good all around. What was in stock was mostly older stuff, but it was all in good shape. My only gripe was that it was definitely over-priced, but theyre trying to recoup after moving to a new location. The man who was there was very helpful, and gave me a meh offer for some old trains I was looking to sell. I get that too, though, since i was trying to part with some old O scale.
Its a nice place for new.and used trains of most scales I well continue going there
Always friendly and full of information. Very good inventory. For me a must stop when I’m in town. Great, friendly conversations.
Nice variety of new and old HO, N, and O27 trains, track, structures and supplies. The three guys there seem to be knowledgable long time model railroaders and would steer you in the right direction.
This is a hidden Gem in Indianapolis. They owner is a great guy really knowledgeable and knows all these products inside now I highly recommend it to anybody that says model railroad fan or just a hobby enthusiast stop by and check them out. Outstanding selection HO scale and N scale along with O scale so good luck at FedEx Freight fine with new and used for in stock and locomotive and everything in between this is a great place to go check out for any model railroader
