I had brought some items in to sell at this store last summer, when the girl at the counter said she was done and gave me my receipt I had notice items were not documented. So I let her know and she got all rude and snippy with me but ended up writing them down on my slip and I asked if she was going to write them on hers and she got even more mad but I refused to leave until I saw it and have been trying to get in contact with them since then. I have noticed that there phone number has changed a couple of times and no matter what they never seem to pick up. I actually stopped into the store this last November to check on my account and they said I had such and such amount and had asked how I would like to use it. I ended up telling them to send me the check in the mail since they dont do it electronically anymore and I still to this day havent seen a check and its already February of 2016! I want to know where my money is and why I cant seem to ever be able to get in contact with them or there managers!!!
As a former employee, Ill explain how this works. All items are ELIGIABLE for markdowns after 60 days. This DOES NOT always mean that all items will be marked down. As for missing items, the staff did their best to make sure that there was no confusion or stealing at the store, but this does not mean they can stop everyone. They do have cameras that you can see every angle of the store with the exception of dressing rooms (obviously). The store CANNOT (by law) have insurance on any of the items in the store during the 90 days because they belong to you. After 90, all items you leave at the store become property of the store. They do donate thousands of items a year but they can also rotate items. You can come get your items at any time if you can find them with your tags on it or you can come get a donation slip that is USUALLY 100% tax refundable.
I would rather shop at a legitimate organization like Turnstyle who actually value their consigners and treat their items with respect. I have a hard time understanding the operations of this store. There is no rhyme or reason as to the hours, they lose merchandise, and they have sales all of the time. The constant sales and 50% off store wide causes concern. Who is making the money here? I will NEVER consign clothes here again. The last time I did they lost my daughters baby clothes that were special to me and I wanted to think that someone else could purchase and enjoy. Then when I went to pull merchandise that I could find, they had it under someone elses account. This person had made over $100 dollars off of my clothes and they refused to do anything. I contacted the store and tried to get a hold of the owner. She is never available, because she is a flight attendant. She used to work at Turnstyle, but I guess she branched off to run a scam for some easy money. One time I went in there and there were dogs in a pen and the lady was trying to adopt them out- um, excuse me? Is this a clothing store or a kennel? The entire place is a joke. Overpriced with crappy clothing- the employees must snag all the good stuff right away. How do they stay in business? I cant imagine they even make money. I have reported this company to the BBB. Such a shame that they take advantage of people and their belongings.
And myself, as a former employee...have witnessed this stores very own manager stealing all the expensive clothes and selling them many months later for her own personal credit. gee, wonder why all their employees end up getting fired/blamed for missing clothes...could it be the manager doesnt want to be caught? i work in a highly professional place now with not a single complaint in my work history and was blamed for trying to steal at this store. do not listen to a single good review on here, because the good reviews are lies. contact the better business bureau...and ex-employees-the department of labor...and shut this horrible, unprofessional scamming business down. -a fellow ex-employee. who failed to follow up with the department of labor and court for her unpaid wages after quitting..as for shoppers/consigners...take your money/items to turn style or platos closet. at least your items will not be lost.
I have sold clothes here before and didnt have a problem the first time. Went back here recently and the young girl at the desk was so rude and had terrible customer service. I will never go back there again because of this. The stuff there isnt upscale either by the way....
I just drove 35 miles to come to this store. Pulled up and they were closed. According to Web site, they should be open. Never coming here again
