One staff member was unmasked, but the other was masked and following social distance guidelines. The salesman was very helpful, knowledgeable and not at all pushy. He definitely wanted to make sure that we got the best product for our needs, and when helping us select a product, he made sure to meet all of our qualifications, not just one. We went in there just looking (as we had just started looking) and ended up deciding to make a purchase. We will definitely return for all of our future purchases! Oh and as an added bonus, they didnt mind my nosey toddler getting into everything and my daughter needing to use the restroom, so they are clearly a family friendly establishment as well!

Fosters waited until the day of installation of our new washer to inform us that it was back ordered. They found out it was back ordered the day before and did not inform me until the day of installation . I had a family member take off work in order to be available for delivery. We ended up having to go with a different model than I want, with a dent that I now have to wait for a discount on until they file a claim with whirlpool. I would have canceled my order if I knew I could get one elsewhere in less than a couple months due to back order’s! In the end Fosters offered to let us use the washer we received until the one we actually ordered comes in which I am satisfied with.

When ordering appliances through Foster, you wont find a better experience. The staff helps you pick out the appliances that best suit your needs and will work to make sure you are comfortable with your purchase. Add in the fact that their delivery guys are extremely friendly, and you wont find a better experience in Iowa City / Coralville/ North Liberty / Cedar Rapids area.

Jennie, the owner, didnt have the Kitchenaid dishwasher I wanted, just a floor model, and didnt get back to me until the next morning to tell me she couldnt find one, but she was very pleasant and easy to work with. I had to buy a Bosch from another store because my old Bosch is on its last legs (20 years old?).

I want to share my latest experience dealing with Foster Appliance. I had praised them for the excellent experiences I had with them previously, but wanted to add a discovery I made with the purchase of a washing machine from Foster last week. I had always assumed that I would get a lower price if I bought an appliance from one of the big box stores.However, last week I was surprised to find that I could purchase the washer from Foster at a lower price than I could find at any of the big box stores. Now I know that I do not necessarily have to give up Fosters unmatched level of service to obtain a lower price. It is good to know that I can support a local business, but regardless of price I will always buy from Foster because their level of service is truly unmatched.

Not all appliance stores will accept a warranty repair, if you don’t purchase the item from them. Foster Appliance provided excellent service for us. They let us know when they would be here, called when they were on their way and arrived exactly when they said they would. The tech was friendly and professional and answered all my questions. When it comes time for new appliances, I know where we will be going. I would recommend them to anyone...

My wife and I recently built a new home. It was great working with the staff at Foster. It has a great local vibe and their selection is extensive. My wife and I are loving our new appliances. We have been shocked by the improvement in technology just in the last few years. Not only did foster help us furnish our new home, but they helped us replace a broken Fridge at our old place very affordably. We have also utilized their service department with some silly questions about our new appliances and they were extremely helpful. It is for sure the place to go for appliances in the corridor.

I needed a stack washer and dryer moved 5 feet in order to reach the water heater which needed replacing. I was told it would take two trips and two men for a charge of $300. I understand the current service call is $149 when coming to do a repair. But this was only a one man job and took less than ten minutes. One man made the first move. Two men came to put the washer and dryer back in place but one man did all the work while the other man stood and watched. Sending two men is a waste of your money and mine. I will not call Foster Maytag in the future.

The sales staff were alright, but the lead installer Allen was great. He maneuvered a big box truck up our driveway off an alley with 1.5 of clearance on either side. He was polite, professional, called ahead, and did a fantastic job installing our new dishwasher and making sure it worked without any leaks.We would buy again from Fosters.

Ive actually never written a review of a business before, but I felt compelled to recommend Foster Appliance after a recent interaction with their service staff. We had trouble with an appliance. The representatives from Foster quickly alleviated our concerns and sent service to our residence in a timely manner. Better yet, the Foster team saved us a lot of money and were completely friendly throughout our whole experience. Awesome Service Department. Ive had Foster out to my place twice, once for my ice maker and dryer, and once for my washer. The first time they gave me what I considered a darn good deal since I needed two appliances serviced. The second time the technician informed me that my washer was just making some extra noises due to age, and it wasnt anything to be worried about, eventually the machine would wear out, but it was fine to keep using. He didnt charge me and wouldnt accept a tip. I will be a loyal customer and will recommend Foster to my friends and family. Thanks again!

I would highly recommend Foster Appliance in Iowa City. There friendly customer service during the sale demonstrated excellent product knowledge and helped me pick the right oven for my needs. The reason for writing my review is my experience with a service call I made 1 year after the sale, I had also purchased the 5 year extended warranty which I am glad I did. The service call was honestly for my lack of understanding how the convection part of the oven worked, questioning if something was wrong. John, a service tech came to my home and not only serviced and showed me how it works but also repaired my dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator all needing minor attention but none of these items I had purchased from Foster Appliance. He took the time to further explain how to maintain these items caring for them properly. The new refrigerator that I ordered clearly was not working after a couple of days. It would get to 44 degrees before it would turn on to cool. I had food spoil and had to be thrown out. I contacted them and they sent out a service tech. I did everything he recommended and it still did not work properly. I then called a few days later and stated I would like the fridge to be picked up and refund me my money as I didnt feel I should have to repair a new refrigerator. Then they told me that there would be a restocking fee of 20%. I was not told verbally nor is it on their website about a restocking fee. After two days of going back and forth - refusing to pick up the refrigerator and trying to upsell me a different one (more expensive), I contacted my credit card company to file a dispute and contacted the BBB to do a formal complaint. Once the owner realized I had done those two things she only wanted to deal with me via email and now instead of a restocking fee shes calling it a charge to move appliances. Interesting that that same charge is almost identical to the 20% restocking fee. Will never use this company again and will make sure friends and family know how they treat customers.

I got my washer and dryer from them... We ordered them on a Monday and by Thursday, the day before delivery, I changed my mind from wanting the current model in electric to wanting gas instead. I called them up and they said theyd bring the gas dryer. Word wasnt passed along and they brought me an electric. I asked about the type of dryer, luckily before they unloaded it and it was indeed electric. The lead installer called the store right away and ended up doing back to the store to get the right one. They were very nice and helpful and so far I have a great product

After reading a number of favorable Google reviews, I was excited to find a good local company to help provide some advice about fixing my washing machine. However, after learning what they thought was wrong with the washer, I chose to wait and mull my options, and considered our encounter over for the time being.Much to my surprise, I was disappointed to receive a bill for the service call, which was not discussed at any point during the setting of the appointment. While sort of thing is perhaps expected, if uncouth, I find it absolutely deplorable that their 10-15 minute visit cost me $100. I certainly wont be going back to them if I do decide to pursue the repair to my machine, which is already costing me well over half the value of the washer.

Worst, most expensive service ever. The first time I called them regarding my dryer, I was told that they were too busy with new constructions to service anything that theyve sold. Maybe if I called back in a couple of months they might have time to service appliances theyve sold.This time I paid $129.95 for a service call for my Maytag dryer and the tech was in my house less than 5 minutes. My dryer still didnt work. When I called back, the person I talked with told me that I needed to clean the outside vent. I told her I had already done that. I also asked to have a different tech make a follow up call. The same tech was sent. Again, the problem was not fixed; and, again the tech never even opened up the inside of the problem to diagnose the problem. I hired a professional duct cleaning service to clean the outside vent because thats what the tech said was wrong - not sure how he knew since he didnt even open the dryer and look inside. The duct cleaning company told me that the vent was not the problem and it was not blocked. I talked with the service manager, Garret Watkins at Fosters. He told me that it would cost me another $129.95 if I wanted them to come back and actually open up the dryer to diagnose the problem. Not going to happen - I have zero confidence in their ability to fix anything. The only thing they seem to do well is charge $129.95 to drive out, walk in the door and turn around and walk out.I would never recommend Foster either for purchasing an appliance and definitely not for service. Cant believe Maytag/Whirlpool even allows Fosters to carry their brand.

My fridge quit about a month ago and it was in and out of working. I tried to fix it myself but gave up. I called around (Hammes never even called me back) and Slager in Iowa City(who does not fix whirlpool) recommended Fosters or the Appliance Barn in Kalona. The AB was too expensive (although the receptionist was nice) charging $89.00 for 30 minutes of looking at my fridge and then $12.50 every 15 minutes after that... I called Fosters and they had a service guy to my house the next morning. He called ahead, met me on time, was friendly and fast. There was a $75.00 fee for as long as it took him to figure out the problem, and then they charged me labor and parts to repair the thermostat. The entire repair took less than 24 hours and was split between two afternoons on my schedule. I would HIGHLY recommend them and their great service, and would call them again if anything else decided to break on me. I was also given a 90 day guarantee, and if they didnt fix the correct problem the service agent said he would come out again free of charge. Great service- great technicians = a happy customer - thanks!

Over the phone I was told $70 for service call. When I questioned $120 fee to replace a freezer fan I was told $50 for an estimate. I paid almost $200 for a 10 minute job. Not going to call them again.
