Literally worst than Wal-Mart.I bought some ultra pasteurized milk that should have been good for up to 14 days after opening, but since target doesnt cycle through their products as much as they should, I ended up with milk that had an expiration date of 3 days after I bought it. I should have known better and checked it before I bought it but seriously? 3 days? Not to mention their god awful produce section. I bought some overpriced apples there 2 days ago and when I went to make a crisp today, literally every single one was mealy and light brown in the inside. A week prior I bought some strawberries and when I went to cut them up that night, I notice most of them were mushy and turning rotten. And of course i cant return any of those products cause they are food and they were opened. Im a broke college student who can barely afford groceries. I cant afford to waste money on food I cant eat. Never shopping here again. Id rather just go to Wal-Mart and deal with the chaos there instead
So nice to have this downtown. It is, of course, a much smaller footprint than a typical target so dont expect the full variety. I do think theyve done a great job curating the best and most useful items. Customer service was great!
Too Bad you cant give this place 0. Rude staff and overpriced items.
The store is immaculate. The vibes are impeccable. Thou shall walk in and immediately feel the positive energy soaring through their veins. Outstanding music pours into my heart: Tunes composed by Beethoven in his own grave and composed by the greatest bands of the century. How dare thy give this place anything below five stars. One thousand years of banishment for those who give this place anything other than a 5 out of 5.
Great layout, the multi-floor setup is really neat, and its in an incredibly convenient location. My only gripe is some prices can be a bit high, but you cant beat the convenience, and its better than gas station prices.
It’s not a normal target. It’s smaller, sort of cramped, but it has the essentials. It’s really out of place location wise but I guess it’s convenient if you live in the downtown area. Likely will not return to this location because of parking. You can’t park in front of the store because it’s in a downtown location, so no quick running in trips without risking a parking ticket. The parking garage is up the street but if you’re just running in for a face wash on a rainy day, probably better to go to Walmart.
Wish this store was here my entire college experience. It’s so convenient and has everything you need in a pinch! Super helpful staff—Adam knew exactly how to answer my question!
One of my favorite places! I love target and I cant believe that we have a target right down town now!
Love the location of this store, so helpful for college students who don’t want to/can’t drive out to Coralville! Really friendly employees as well, Adam has always been such great help whenever I’m there!
Layout is great. Wide range of options with grocery on the first floor and home/clothes/electronics etc on the second floor. I hope this target doesnt drive out small businesses around the area, but overall it provides necessities for Iowa City residents who may not have transportation to Coralville.
Target knocked this place out of the park. Extremely nice layout that feels unique to the location. You won’t believe how many options they had in such a small space, but it still didn’t feel crammed at all. Great addition to downtown Iowa City!
Adam is a great employee. Very helpful!
Corporate policy discriminates against certain customers. Will avoid Target for remainder of its existence.
No Target between Iowa city and Coralville is handicap friendly. Practically have to drive up into the door for my girlfriend who had knee surgery.
How many more weekends are we going to have to hear this noisyplane flying over Iowa City with your banner attached? How annoying.Better to put the money into relief for Cedar Rapids area.
Cute store with everything you need!
It is such a fun and friendly vibe!
The cashier dianne was super sweet and helpful loved her ❤
Best thing to happen to Iowa City downtown in a long time!
Target first impressions, from an IC local. The pros/meets expectations:-comparable or competitive with CVS (all the way down to vibrators)-competative selection in almost every non-food item to other chain stores This is taking accessibility into account (I cannot select a Walmart razor brand if I dont wanna walk through the store, ja feel??) The two story layout is excellent in that way.-not a ton of produce, which means they arent taking from the co-op, bread garden, local business nos.-Fully accessible by all bus routes, IC and Cambus. Game changer.-they got SNACKS and snack sized foods galore. The cons:-Downtown locale means mark up is HIGH. I spent $31 for five items, wants and needs! Oof. This will level out hopefully.-Not competitive or even comparable groceries. This Target is for suburbanite students. Budget-conscious-townie still needs Aldi. This will likely not change and I accept that lol.-Is there an elevator?? Why not?? Thats a violation of ADA, muh dudes.-Just because I can get there easily/fast does not mean I can get home fast (looking at you, IC transit).I was fully thrilled to have this store open and I still am!!! 2020 has a bright spot after all :)
