I came in a few weeks back to buy a board game to play with my kids who are not always the most cooperative. There was a huge selection in the store and they were able to help me find something I could play in a co-op style with my kids, so there would not be absolute mayhem in my house. Great staff, great selection, highly recommended.

Interesting shop with a wide variety of options of games, puzzles, and hobby equipment. I just happened to stumble upon the store when going to the movie theater right across the hallway.

The store is a little bit tricky to find but worth the trip. Go in the door for the movie theatre and youll find it. They have a wide variety of games and hobby supplies. We went in looking for DnD characters and they had many to choose from. You can also find rockets, model trains, rc cars and planes, and tons of different board games. The staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful.

Difficult to find, called the store and was very politely guided into what used to be a shopping mall to find a game store NOT AN RC HOBBY SHOP which is great if youre looking for a bored game.

Would have rated it higher if I wasnt followed around. Gunpla selection I feel needs a boost.

Great store with a huge variety of both hobby items (cars, train track materials, minis, RPG books etc.) and puzzle and games for the whole family from easy family games to board games for more dedicated enthusiasts.Very friendly and welcoming store with helpful staff.Best stuffed toys for my toddler as well.

I’ve been a loyal customer with my son for about a year now & have a membership account. We are not medically able to wear a mask & made the guy working aware of that & were not allowed in the shop. The train in the window doesn’t work & no one seems to actually know anything about trains. I won’t be back because any shop that is RUDE to as loyal 3 YEAR OLD CUSTOMER that drove 2 hours here doesn’t deserve our patronage.

Great selection of supplies for all ranges of hobbies - exactly what youd expect from a place called The Hobby Corner.They have a wide range of various miniature models, paints, and other miniature modeling tools. They have a lot more available than just that, like board games and other craft and hobby supplies which are just as abundant, but I tend to focus on miniature modeling and painting.On top of that, the staff there are very friendly and helped show me around and find anything that didnt immediately jump off the shelves to me.

I was in the area following a trip to the VA hospital. I stopped in to buy some Blood for the Blood God and was blown away by the size of the store and their amount of products on hand. Very cool place. I wish there was a similar store in the quad cities area. To play some 40k and Test of Honour.

This hobby store is good for what it is. It has a decent selection of a lot of hobbies from RCs to puzzles to models and a lot more. The people have always been helpful when asked questions.

This is not just a game store... its a social hub for the geeks of Iowa City! Every night, theres something fun and social going on, from board games to MTG. If gaming isnt your thing, theyve also got a spiffy model train and homebrew section, to keep your hobbies diverse! This is a great place to meet people with similar interests, to chill and play games. They have a big wall full of games to try out, or you can bring your own.

Interesting place, lots of cool puzzles, games, science kits, model items. Staff are curtly polite. They seemed much more friendly to the male clientele however. Would only recommend because of the selection, not the staff.

Really fun place. Has every game you can think of and then some. Also offers game night and game demos. This is a must if youre aboard game lover. Also has stuff for other hobbies.

Great little store! Its my go to for dice. Its great because they sell lose dice so I can get replacements when Ive lost one of a set

There is a wonderful selection of games, puzzles, models, trains, etc, and the staff is very helpful. I went in to find a new two player game and they helped me find one that fit my style. They know their stuff and have helpful insight about most of the games.

I and a large group of people were yelled at by someone working at Hobby Corner while we were waiting in line for a movie. I later talked to a manager about this and said this is a good time to hand out promotional or ads! Do not chase people away. I gave them another chance and picked up a mini quadcopter/drone and they were right... it worked really well even if it was so small! Good price and advice!

Mixed feelings about this place. But they have good selection of hobbies. Just wast thrilled about something that broke the next day and we followed the instructions to the tee.

JoAnn fabrics looks real nice! First time being in the new location. Clerks were quite friendly and helpful.

They have an acceptable selection of goods for most hobbies. There prices arent too competitive compared to online store prices but theyre also not outrageous. I enjoy coming to this store because its small yet full and organized. The people that work there are helpful but stare ALOT. I just assume they have a theft issue and dont pay it much attention but It can feel awkward at times. They have tables to play games at too.

Been going to the hobby corner for aprox 28 years. Not the same as it once was. And I miss that. But it is still good.

Very difficult to find as there is no outside signage and it seems to be the only shop without an outside entrance. Furthermore, the mall has been subdivided into two mini-malls and THC isnt in the more obvious of the two. Go in through the theater entrance. THC is across the hall from the box office.

Great service, there is a lot of different things to look at and or buy, Id recommend at least stopping in if you like RC Cars and other hobby type stuff.

My hobby is boardgaming so I cant speak to the other hobbies represented here as much, but I do think HC has a decent selection of boardgames.They have most of the popular introductions to hobbyist boardgames (gateway games) in good supply and number of more obscure kickstarter titles. I wouldnt guarantee that they have exactly the boardgame youre looking for but its certainly worth a look because they absolutely might... and if they dont you might find a random gem like and unopened copy of Space Hulk!
