Had a 2006 Vespa and loved it. Went to University Scooters to upgrade to a 2021 300cc and went back 4 days later to buy a second. Staff is super friendly and I can not stress how low pressure they were. I hate pushy Sales Reps. They truly are about the customer and I will always take my business there 😉

Super friendly staff! We went just to look around. My husband previously owned a motorcycle but I had no two wheel experience. They explained everything and let us test drive as many scooters as we wanted, even multiple times to compare. They let us know all of our options, guiding us with information but they were never pushy. We LOVE our scooters and put over $100 miles on them in just the first week!

Be sure to check with your insurance provider weather to register the vehicle in Iowa or your home state. The choice will make a difference between instant insurance or waiting for insurance through an alternate provider licensed in Iowa. We are from out of state and choose to register in Iowa using the dorm address through Progressive. This is not an ad, just the insurance provider we choose with motorcycle insurance.

I left my moped in on Monday after I had a few problems with it, got it back later that same week all fixed and clean! They were exceptionally helpful and super inexpensive.

Love this place! They take a while for repairs and mods, but the end result is always amazing. i got my zuma built here and not even 20 min after leaving with it, it had issues. the staff there took a look at it and quickly diagnosed it and ordered the part to fix it. can’t wait to get it back, i highly recommend this shop for all repairs and modifications! thanks tyler!

These guys are great! I got my moped serviced here, and they did very well (at a reasonable price, too!) and the people here are very kind and attentive.

This place was amazing for service and products. Toren helped us learn about our scooter and helped us load them in the back of our truck. Jake drove the scooter in his pickup from Iowa out to the Chicago suburbs. He thoroughly explained its operation to my wife whod never driven one before. He had her riding up and down the block in less than an hour. He also stressed the importance of lessons before taking it into traffic. Then he carefully explained winter maintenance and storage. He was very impressive, as was Tyler who spent a lot of time on the phone explaining the various options available. Great people to do business with.

My wife and I had an awesome experience with the team at University Scooters. I started emailing them during the pandemic and they responded to all my emails and answered all my questions. We scheduled a time for my wife to test ride scooters and during the visit they handled the social distancing responsibly and were patient and happy to let my wife ride many scooters to find the right one. With the help of our salesperson, we were able to find the right scooter for my wife. They even delivered it to us later that day. We will continue to use them for all our scooter needs.

Good business. Have dropped my scooter (to various degrees and in various conditions) three or four times and subjected it to various abuses (presumably) common to first-time scooter (or vehicle in general) owners. These guys keep it running like a champ. They will very helpfully point stuff out that needs fixing, but they are not pushy.10/10, if I totaled my scooter, would buy from these guys again.

We worked with University Scooters on Saturday, 5/9/20. They were and have been amazing to work with. We took one scooter down to have maintenance and traded a second one in for a new one. They answered all questions and delivered both scooters to us yesterday. Will definitely recommend and use them again!

I got my moped in July of 2018 when it was still MopedU and it is still one of the best purchases I have ever made. The staff are warm, welcoming and will work to find what you are looking for! Had exactly 10 scooters for sale, none of which were under 4 thousand dollars. It was like walking into an apple store given that the price was only justified by the namebrand of the scooters.

We drove 5 1/2 hours to purchase a $9000.00 dollar scooter for my husband. Test drive had been done, financing done, and scooter was ready to go, just needed to do paperwork. When we first arrived I saw a scooter I wanted to test drive and most likely buy on the spot. 2 1/2 hours later, we were still waiting! Not only to sign paperwork on original purchase but also to get to test drive a second one. Meanwhile, I have watched our “salesman “ help at least 3 other people and have watched the scooter I wanted be sold, TWICE (they had 2 of that color). So here we are at 3 hours and still waiting. I have given up on the test drive and purchasing one for myself as I honestly do not believe they deserve my business. Very disappointed in the service we have (not) received. This may be a great place to purchase a scooter if you have an abundant amount of time to hang out and wait, but not if you are driving a long distance and want good service 😡

Update. I just purchased my second moped from University Scooters. My first was a Wolf Islander. I traded it in with 6,000 miles on it. I never had any problems out of it other than routine maintenance. Tyler gave me a good deal on my trade in for a new Wolf EX 150. Still, and will continue to be, a valued customer of University Scoots.

Very bad experience, they have my moped since 1 month ago.They have called me twice that the bike is ready but when I go to pick it up, is not and more issues appears. They fixed the first issue( brake oil) and when I went to picked it up, the bike doesnt start and they did not told me, so why they called me to pick it up then? I just use it for go to work, could they do a better work in fixing it and called clients? Maybe they dont care to loose customers but for sure I am not gonna go back, and not recommend anybody either.

Great group of guys. All the best to them as they continue to have a great business. I caught a nail in the back tire of my Kawasaki Vulcan 900. It was a Sunday and I had to park the motorcycle in an off the road parking lot. The other motorcycle repair shops were closed on Monday, but MopedU was open. :-) The guys were very helpful, went and got the bike, investigated what was needed, called me, gave me a quote, did the repair, and even took payment over the phone so that I could pick up the bike after business hours. Way to go guys. Keep up the good work, and good luck with the business. You are doing all the right things!

They dont even deserve this one star! Customer service was horrible! They treat their employees like crap (yelling at a employee while outside the store). Had to wait around for two hours for them! Then we made a deal over the phone before i drove a hour away they looked over my bike and test drove it. And said we have a deal and went in to cut the check and trade they changed their mind! Seems like a bunch of kids pretty much run the business. Good luck getting ahold of the owner also! Never is there and never answers his phone. Will never spend a penny at this place. And Id advise you not too!

I had no previous experience with mopeds at all. They sold me a used one that was ready to go and fully fixed up. A week later my brake line was weaker than it ever shouldve been. My throttle was like it had gum in it. My tires were bald which I hadnt taken notice to and now Ive wiped out twice. Go to Kellys Auto for a fair shake. They got me set back up and were much more straight up. Moped U just wants quick cash as far as Im concerned.

Although I had a bad experience with my purchase of my moped in the fall of 2018, it seems they have let go of their poor employees and gotten back on track.I brought my moped in for what seemed to be a nail in my back tire. Tyler, who was quick to assess the situation, knew I was hurried and stopped all projects to immediately fix this situation. Within 90 minutes, he replaced the tire (on the floor because there was already a moped on the lift-gate) and did a general inspection which lead to the finding and replacing of a missing lug-nut that fell off during travel.Torrin was very helpful at the front desk when scheduling an oil change and full maintenance check. When I mentioned a specific problem asking them to look at, he fixed it on the spot for me.As I mentioned before, I have not had the best experiences with this company in the past. Yet, after 2 incidences within a week of each other this store seems to have turned it around in all the right ways.

These guys were great. I was looking for a new Moped and they hooked me up for about half the price of the other dealerships. Plus they were awesome about getting me new gear for it. WILL BE BACK!

I recently went to MopedU to look into getting a moped to ride to and from school. The employee, Tyler, was so friendly and made me feel comfortable navigating a situation I am unfamiliar with. I had my father there to help ask certain maintenance questions, and Tyler had answers for everything. They explained before I bought my moped what I need to do in order for it to have a longer life, even explaining to my father how to change the oil himself if he wanted to. Lastly, I was very impressed with the way the staff treated me as far as not making me feel stupid for not knowing how to operate the moped (since I had never used one in the past). They never treated me like any of my questions or concerns were dumb, which is respect that especially as a lady isnt found everywhere. I highly recommend MopedU!

Quoted me online a price to mount and balance a tire ( off bike ). Same price they advertised on craigslist. I go in and get a higher price from their mechanic.. Owner got back to me and apologize for the mistake and offered to make it up. Top notch customer service, would deal with agian.

I bought my first moped and I was very excited, I went to moped u not knowing what to expect. And the owner tommy Le blew my mind with his customer service, me being new to mopeds I had a lot of questions to ask about the moped. Tommy answered all my questions and also gave me a chance to make my decision, usually other businesses kind rush the customers to being their products but tommy was very upfront with me. I came from Cedar Rapids witch is like 30 mins from the store. Tommy went above and beyond with his courtesy and helped me bring my new moped to the house. I was very pleased and would definitely recommend anyone and everyone to go see tommy’s Business!

Worst service experience I have ever had. Last Friday I brought these bone heads in the service shop my Husqvarna Supermoto to have some tires I ordered put on. Now before I dropped it off I triple checked to make sure these tires would fit and they do. I made the appointment a week and a half in advance since I was told it would take an hour and a half and I have classes to get to and my motorcycle is my primary mode of transportation. Now I drop it off in the morning, first off the mechanics arent even in yet when I drop it off. When I come back an 1 and a half later they had just started working. I made the appointment 1 week and a half in advanced so that this wouldnt happen! Infuriated I stormed to my math class. I leave math still not having received a call and I figured well they must be done now. WRONG! I show up and Justin the mechanic starts making up some BS about how my rear tire doesnt fit. I tell him that I need it at least rolling by the end of the day even if they had to put the old rear tire on. I get a call at 5:30pm about how my front tube is dry roted (tire has maybe 5 hours of use aka about 500 miles on it) and he needs to order a new tube. Fine said it would be Saturday the next day. I get a call today (Wednesday) that its done. I go in thinking yeah I might pay for the front being done but nothing else. They try to charge me $160 ( and I thought the $120 quote was outragous) I argue with this guy for 20 minutes and get him down to $115. Still got ripped off. Now I have to go to Sun and Fun to get everything done right. The entire reason I even brought it to a shop was to get it done right and fast. Both of those things were not acomplished. On top of that its the worst customer service experinced i have ever had, I have never felt so disrespected as a customer ever! After Sun and Fun puts my rear on Im going to have some strong words with the owner. DO NOT GO HERE!UPDATE: 9/16/16. 2 weeks after.Went to Sun and fun motorsports today, took them an hour and a half to get the rear tire mounted and balanced no problem. Ive now learned the hard way not to try to cheap out on maintenance even when it comes to the simple stuff.

My daughter bought a 2015 wolf RX50 $1100 in July of 2015. Overall the bike, for the money, is decent, and the sales staff were friendly and professional.She had a problem with the battery going dead, but that was covered under warranty. Another problem with the bike is the low beam bulb burns out. Twice in less than a year. I also noticed that the engine was a little low on oil. So I called Moped U and asked if I should add the oil, or would the effect the warranty. They said they would add the oil no charge.The problem began when my daughter took it in to have the oil added, and the lightbulb changed. They talked her in to having the oil changed, which she agreed to. Here is what really gets me. They charged$71 to change the oil and lightbulb. $35 of that was for the oil change and it only holds about 2qts. There is no oil filter to change.In the realm of things, were not talking about a lot of money here. But still. were talking about a $35 oil change for a moped (not to mention the cost to change the lightbulb). So I called to express my concerns of the outrages $35 oil change for a moped. I argued that one can have oil changed on their car at Walmart, with a filter, for less than that. The owner wouldnt budge. He said they give courtesy calls, when oil changes are due, to all their customers. To me, Its not a courtesy call, its a business call. So my problem with Moped U is not the moped itself, but the maintenance charges for service.Maybe they should rename their business Moped SCREW U.
