My experience was very good at Mavis. I needed a battery and their price beat out another place I had previously gotten a price.I asked them to check the brakes that I got from another place. They had been squeaking every since I got them.They looked at them and said the rotors and brakes needed replacing. I told the manager that I just had those brakes and rotors replaced a few months ago. She showed me and told me that the rotors had never been replaced. She said that much rust would not be on new rotors. And you can tell because I saw it with my own eyes.I’m taking my back to where I got them, it’s still under warranty.Thanks so much Mavis!

Very upset with the people in this store. Lost my business forever. My 23 year old daughter goes in for a Tire rotation and oil change. They tried to take advantage of her. Gave her an estimate on New Brakes (which are 1 year old that they installed), new shocks and struts a total of over $1300.00. Told her that she defiantly NEEDED all of these items and when she refused, they said the special is only good for today. Come on. Lets try to run an honest business. I have the estimate in my hands and its double and triple charged. I have always purchased my tires/ brakes from this store but never again.

When I tell you this is the best place! IT IS! I drive 30 minutes away from my home JUST for this location! Michael and Lee are the absolute best! I’m a younger woman and I feel so well taken care of when I come! Definitely WILL NOT go to another location but this one!

I had to have four new tires on my 2007 Mazda 5 and they were very professional and knowledgeable. Celeste was in the office and she called me after I dropped my car off and told me about a serious problem I had going on with my oil. She said “I actually took a video so you could see the problem. It’s been going on a while!” I felt confident that they were on the up and up. Sadly, so often, car repair places “find stuff” wrong just to be able to make more off of you. That was not the case. The young man (Charles) who put the tires on was also very knowledgeable. He topped off my oil until I could afford the funds to get it repaired properly. Thanks Mavis in Irondale.

First of all, my family and I try to patronize local businesses in Irondale. My husband and I went in on Monday to have tires plugged and windshield wipers replaced, which went fine. I made an appointment for an oil change on the following Wednesday. My husband took my truck, waited an hour, and when he went to the desk to inquire why it was taking so long, the clerk told him the truck was ready. My husband was watching the truck the whole time. It hadn’t been serviced at all. Which means we would have paid for a service we didn’t receive had my husband not been watching. So he left. I called to see what the hold up was and the clerk hung up on me!In all of the times that we have used them and tried to overlook the constant (annoying) up sales this is too much! I will be darn if I will spend another penny in this place! Bring Tire Pro’s BACK! The staff was amazing! This is definitely a downgrade!!! Heading to EXPRESS OIL CHANGE!

WHEN I TELL YOU THAT THIS LOCATION IS THE SPOT, BELIEVE ME!! The front desk clerk, Casey, WAS BEYOND HELPFUL with getting brakes, rotors, & an oil change done on a SUNDAY! We were 3 hours from home & were in dire need for these services. So, Casey & Devon (mechanic) made this process very smooth! I had my oil changed there, I asked if they topped off the fluids FOUR TIMES! The sales guy asked his supervisor then came back and told me oh yeah no prob we can take care of that! They too busy trying to sell me brakes rotors and windshield wipers meanwhile I left there with no ANTIFREEZE in my car in the middle of summer!!!!!.

I got a set of tires put in about a year ago, and while driving on a jobsite recently picked up a screw in one of my tires sidewalls. Lee and Michael were great, letting me know in advance when the slow parts of the day were so I could get in and out quickly, as well as walking me through the proration process with the puncture warranty.This is my second time here and Ive had good feelings and a working car both times Ive left.

Terrible, terrible service. I made an appointment to have my brakes replaced and a tire rotation and oil change, and while still in the parking lot walking in the entire conversation changed to my car burning too much oil. Twenty minutes in to going on and on about my cars oil I asked would they still have time to complete what I scheduled. Sat down for a bit and was told I needed a whole new engine, my car would not make it, I needed a whole new car. Engine was never disassembled.Nothing made sense, they did nothing that I scheduled to have done. Took my car to a reputable auto service and explained everything and they looked st me like I had 2 heads. Their mechanics thoroughly looked over my vehicle and I was assured nothing was wrong with my cars engine. They apologized to me for others behavior and gave me a nice discount for my troubles. DO NOT take your car here and have your time wasted by these incompetent people. They also were extremely unprofessional to an elderly customer and ran her off and then proceeded to cuss about her while I heard it all. Dont waste your time!

First of I just want to say I’m old school back when cars were BUILT BY HAND went it for brakes and some front end issues and Mavis tire mechanic Alex was absolutely unbelievable incredibly experienced and highly highly knowledgeable fella good to finally meet a REAL MECHANIC who will take his time and walk over the vehicle with me and explains what each component does and why these components fail Mavis you have yourself a GREAT MECHANIC but an even better PERSON very very impressed . Don’t bother with this place. At least this location.Went here to get a full set of new tires. No complaints on the front end, they seemed to be quick and efficient and friendly.Immediately after leaving, however, I get about 10 miles away and park for a while for lunch and come back out to one of these brand new tires flat. I get it reinflated and go to the nearest Mavis Tire & Brake (different one than I had tires installed at) and they show me about 5 or 6 pinhole leaks on the inside edge of the tire. But they don’t have my size and it’s late in the day so they just my spare on.Next morning first thing, I come back to the grants mill rd location and explain what happened and I’m told they don’t have that brand in stock anymore. I explained that I’m driving on a donut spare so I’ll take anything else in that size that will work. The guy says he’s got others in that size but he can only replace with same brand. I try, calmly, to explain that inventory and policy is not my problem. You sell and install a defective product, you make it right. He again refuses and says another store across town has it but the “shuttle doesn’t run until Tuesday”. So now, again, it’s my problem that he wants to put on the same brand and that the shuttle doesn’t run so now I have to drive across town on a mini spare.Now, I’ve found out that this make of tire has a demonstrated history with Mavis of having pinhole leaks and yet, they’re still selling them and installing them. Great, thanks for the headache.Sure, you can get tires here. If you want to take your chances that a.) you’ll get a good product and b.) that they’ll stand behind it and treat you right. My experience suggests this is unlikely.

I called about two tires for my boat trailer. Guy was super nice and said he would fit me in real quick. I drove an hour to this store on a Sunday to get my tires only to be told that was a call center and it would be a 3 to 4 hour wait. That is sorry business!

This place is fantastic! Rhilee at the front desk is so friendly and extremely helpful. She kept me updated on how the work was going, and advised me of other things I needed done, and even took pictures to help explain what she was referencing. The customer service was phenomenal. The work was done quickly. By far the best experience weve had at an auto shop.

I got a flat on the interstate right up from them and didnt have a jack, a lug wrench.. Nothing I needed, of course. I walked down to them and they went above and beyond to help me. They let me borrow a tool to get the lug nuts off and let me borrow a jack! REALLY awesome people there thatll help however they can! I definitely recommend supporting them and will be back myself!

Friendly service and reasonable prices on brake service (slightly lower than their competition up the road who are also reasonable). One afternoon my low tire light was on, but I couldnt tell which tire was low. I stopped in and a kind employee checked my tire pressure and filled all my tires to the correct pressure, and then sent me on my way with a Have a good day, maam!. No trying to sell me tires I didnt need, no charge for pressure checks and air, no bamboozling of any kind. Just good old-fashioned care & the extra mile. Everyone I saw spoke and was friendly, even smiling! The only rude person I encountered was another customer, and I felt sorry for the staff for having to deal with him. I will definitely be back in the future for more paid services for my car, as will my husband. We are also definitely spreading the word to our family, friends, and coworkers. Mavis in Irondale is a great place for auto care service. Thank you all so very much.

Okay so I have now made a second trip to Mavis tire and I think Im even more pleased than I was after the first trip. All of the guys that I encountered did everything in their power to make my visit go as smooth and painlessly as possible. Not only did this location have my odd-sized tires in stock, they installed them the same day that I discovered I needed them. I Im normally apprehensive when it comes time to pay the bill because it seems like every time I have to have work done on my car there are always several unexpected fees tacked on to the grand total, not here! I paid the quoted price for my tires plus the mounting and balancing charge and sales tax, and all of those charges were outlined when I booked the appointment with the exception of the sales tax. This shop has definitely earned my trust and my respect as well as my gratitude. I feel like I cannot say enough nice things about the entire experience but needless to say, they have definitely got themselves a customer for life. Thanks again, see yall soon (but not too soon)👏👏👏GREAT EXPERIENCE! Being a female, I always dread having to have any sort of work done on my vehicle, because more often than not the service guys try to sell me parts and services that do not even apply to my vehicle. Today I had 2 gentlemen Jason and Chris both helping me and advising me on the best option to solve my problem without breaking the bank. Had a very last minute battery emergency last week. I called the store up to find out what time they closed. Just my luck, they closed in 20 minutes. After asking what I needed done, I was told to come on in, they would take care of me. I arrived 10 minutes prior to closing and I got the service that anyone else would get. No complaints, no funny looks. Just quick and perffesional service. Can not thank them enough. Saved me a massive travel logistical nightmare.

Tried to sell me more than I wanted/needed. A 2003 Ford escape with 200k+miles, is not worth investing to much into. I just wanted it safe to drive. After he understood that I wasnt worried about even tire wear or any number of other things that did not apply to safety, the work was done in a timely fashion. And an update the part they replace broke and is now in need of repair again.

I can not express my gratitude enough to this particular Mavis location for working me in with my tire situation. I had multiple objects in my tire. They happen to be close to the construction zone on Montclair Road area where I picked up the debris. Rhilee went over and beyond to not only work me in, but make sure the other tires were OK and get me in and out sooner than expected for a last minute Sunday afternoon visit. I have always had a positive experience at this location but this visit surpassed all! The lobby is clean, the bathroom is tidy and waiting area pleasant. Thank you Rhilee & Mavis Irondale!

I’ve never been overly excited to have to call around to different places and ask question. I know people get frustrated because they are trying to work and I feel as if I’m annoying them, and some people act like it. I’ve had to call a few places looking for tires and I need to be given explicit details. So my phone calls may take time. I understand this, and so did Danielle. She was so nice and patient. She answered all my questions, was extremely helpful. I was given all the information I needed. I don’t know where you guys found her.... but I need y’all to keep her around! She was absolutely AMAZING!

Edit: Ordered four tires. Had two put on, then had to wait a while to get the other two. They kept them for me, and were very helpful. I had an issue with the charges on my second visit, but they made it right. Overall happy with my experience.

Got a flat and got towed to this Mavis. While up on the jack, they said they found I needed new brakes. I agreed to let them install new brakes on the front. But they installed the brake line right up against the axel, causing them to ware against each other (pics included). Eventually the axel and brake line wore against each other enough to require them to need to be replaced. The shop that fixed their negligent work was nice enough to take pics, and they said that I should talk to Mavis about the work they did to hopefully help cover the cost of repairs. Not only were the brakes installed incorrectly, but Mavis forgot to return a bolt to one of the brake calipers. The Mavis Regional Manager tried to tell me that their hands were tied unless I let one of their technicians fix it. By that time my vehicle had been at the other shop being worked on, and I did not want to delay the return of my vehicle since I depend on it to get to work. Also, after hearing that they did not return one of the bolts to the brake caliper, I would not trust Mavis to even just take your tires off. They may forget to return one of your bolts when putting them back on. Further, even the people working the front desk did not seem to know what they were doing. I would never go back to this place. If you value you safety, well-being, and time, do not go to Mavis Tire and Brakes. I wish I could give them 0 stars.

I had a great experience at Mavis Tire. I came in for tires and oil change they had me in and out in about a hour. I was very pleased with the service that they offered to me. The managers there are very friendly and helpful! Thank you Mavis.

Drivers beware. Don’t go to Mavis Tires & Brakes in Irondale, AL. They will install your brake line on your axel causing you to have to replace them on your own dime. Oh and they will forget to replace a caliper bolt, which could have ended even worse.

These guys are great. I send every one of my Porsche customers to this location for any tire patches. They are always quick and priced fairly. I’ve never had one of my customers complain. Today I had a patch done on my personal car and the work was performed excellently. I will continue to send my customers to the Grants Mill Road location every time.

My experience with Mavis was absolutely fantastic! I had two tires on my boat trailer, that the belt seperated after about 15 miles from my house. They jumped on it like a NASCAR pit crew and knocked it out just in time before closing. I heard nothing but positivity from this awesome group of folks. They could have turned me away late on a Friday with no other option than to hope I make it back home on a wing and a prayer, but they didnt. They have definitely earned my respect and business. Additionally, the shop manager was wonderful! I cant remember her name at this time. If you are in need of tires or service this is a great place to go.
