Great customer service. I got my PA14 from them, they explained and answer all my question. After a couple of months my 360 drive was having a issue on the pedal bungee cord. Mike is very knowledgeable and he fix the issue.

What can I say, simply that Mike and his family and Adam know their business inside out and offer customer service which is nothing short of excellent and deserves 6 stars at least, From my initial walking inquiry all my questions and concerns were addressed and at no time did I get the feeling that Mike was trying to sell me a Kayak or any of the extras like rod holders, fish finders etc. As a complete kayaking novice. Mike and his son showed me how to select a roof rack and mount the yak on my SUV using the Yakima straps and bow and stern lines they prepared for me.When it cam to purchasing a basic fish finder Adam helped me choose the one which I needed and ordered the install pack for my Lowrance which I ordered off Amazon and had sent to the store where they installed the wiring and a circular hatch to house the battery.and my boat was ready in a couple of days.So if you are thinking of buying your first Hobie or upgrading to a newer model do yourself a big big favor and check out the professionals at this Hobie certified store.

After a couple of weeks of online searching, I was more confused by the options, than informed.....Adam helped us narrow our search down to precisely what we needed and steered us away from buying stuff that wouldnt really serve our goals....We will likely purchase from Southwind when we finally make our decision within the next week or two....HIGHLY RECOMMEND....!! I bought two feathercraft kayaks from Southwind in 1997. I still use them and they are beautiful boats. Stopped in the store in May 2016 to say hello and get some kayak straps. We met Mike and started chatting about kayaks and how my wife tried sit on top kayaking but did not enjoy it. I love kayaks and kayaking (I had about 14 kayaks when we went in to the store and u did not need another kayak). He showed us the hobie i11 inflateable with mirage pedal drive. Then we did a demo at Newport dunes in the back bay. No pressure. My wife loved it and we boat one that day. The next day I bought a hobie i12 inflateable. Now I am selling most of my kayaks to make room for another hobie. They are unbelievably fun and stable kayaks. My wife can load hers, inflate and be ready to go on the water in 10 minutes. She can cruise all day and we can chat and enjoy the scenery and not worry about tipping over or being wet. The seats are CSI comfortable. Mike also knows a lot about traditional kayaks. When he and his wife delivered my hobie to Ventura, I showed him my kayak collection. My prize Valley pintail fiberglass kayak was covered and he just felt it through the cover and knew what boat it was. When he saw the colors he remembered ordering that very boat from valley sea kayak years ago (I bought it used a few years ago from the original owner). Mike helped with the rudder kit for my wilderness kayak as well as put a new seat in my nimbus solander plus kayak. So if you are looking to buy a kayak or repair your kayak, Southwind is the place to go! They have LOTS of accessories, clothing, knowledge and experience and kayaks. My wife and I use our kayaks at least a couple of times a week. Happy kayaking!
