Strawberry slush:Pretty good but also a bit too sweet and has a artificial strawberry flavor. The jelly has a nice texture but again has that strong fake strawberry flavor. The cream on top is nice and kind of like cool whip but in cream form.Purple rice drink w mini taro balls & fresh milk:Prettt good. Tastes just like the purple rice dessert. The drink isnt grainy and there are soft bits of rice in it. The fresh milk is yummy even though I normally hate milk and the taro balls are always good.
Some of the desserts here were less sweet than I was anticipating, but I enjoyed the oolong milk tea I got from here.
Food is amazing as always, but service is slow as always. Cashiers have been painstakingly slow at taking peoples orders multiple times Ive visited but thankfully the food preparation is quick. Also, they should mention somewhere that Egg Waffles are only made on weekdays.
The desserts are excellent but genuinely feeling frustrated with the online ordering experience. Not even talking about delivery - even when ordering for pickup, Meet Fresh app/ PostMates/ UberEats will frequently be unavailable. Or it’ll be available but specific menu items won’t be available. Or you’ll have everything configured but then find out at check out that “ordering at this location (Irvine) is not available right now”.But why offer online ordering if this so often? It happens on weekends and weekdays :(
For Taiwanese Dessert, let me just say this place is hella overpriced. That said, the grass jelly is great here. You cant go wrong with one of their signatures. Or get their meal in a cup milk teas with pudding and such. Great execution and ingredients, its just v overpriced.
We ordered a shave ice. It came with a lot ice with red beans, soy beans, sweet potato, and other stuff, and an ice cream on top. It looks very impressive; however, it just didnt give me the kind of shave ice that I was hoping for, the kind that you can find on the streets of Taipei. A little bit disappointed.
Meet and Fresh offers a huge variety of Herbal Soups and Puddings. It is a heaven for all those that like East Asian Sweet dishes. Portions are rather big and can be shared. The ambience is a combination of modern and hip. It is centrally located in the heart of Irvine. The Staff is professional and quick.
Yeah, I threw my strawberry shaved ice in the trash. I could barely eat it. Service was slow and lines were long.
Great dessert and a nice selection of different type of drinks. I’ve been to other locations in Rowland Height which is bigger but the location in Irvine a little smaller and tend to get really crowded especially the weekend. Overall the quality is very good and good luck finding a parking spot if you come at the wrong time especially Friday or Saturday night.
Very delicious dessert. Great portions and as close to authentic Taiwanese sweet tofu as you can get. I got the red bean soup and the Taiwanese sweet tofu. The flavors were great - not too sweet or overpowering. This is a really popular place so beware of lines but its definitely worth it. Overall, would come again for some Taiwanese dessert cravings.
Like there desserts shave ice and drinks, they need to improve customer service.
So heres the thing: Ive never had this type of desert before, so Im not sure what it was supposed to taste like. As someone not knowing what to expect, Id say it was interestingly good and different. Its almost like a shave ice with different jellies as toppings. I was told its an acquired taste, I think that it can be intimidating for someone that has never had it, but Id also say you miss every shot you dont take. They have a pretty big menu so there are options. It can get very busy here (line out the door) and the service is good with big dining room.
Desserts are good but floors are not clean. I didnt see any employees clean up while I stayed seating.
This is a Taiwanese desert place. Most of the sweet desert here is not that sweet, so I think its best to ask for a bit extra sweetness. Its a popular place apparently since there is always a crowd here. Most crowd is young crowd, and its a popular hangout among them.**Checkout Insta: @mrakusuma for all of my recommended places to eat**
Not my cup of tea, so to speak. Largely flavorless, but with a strange texture. Overpriced, undertasting. My last visit.
Meet fresh is always good to me but this place lacked a little compared to other ones Ive been to. They really withheld the main portion of what makes the dessert so cool and refreshing and thats the grass jelly ice so my dessert was pretty warm. Needless to say, Im still gonna come back because meet fresh is one of my favorite dessert places. I got the grass jelly special. I recommend adding boba. I forgot to do it this time
Extremely poor service!! I saw tons of people complained about these kind of problems everywhere on web but nothing has been changed. I guess as customers we could only take care of ourselves so watch out guys! a lanky male waiter would always makes you feel like you can’t ask him any questions or he would explode immediately.
Customer service is terrible. I waited for 10 more minutes before I can order and the staff is just busy with other things without even telling me to wait for a while. It’s like 2pm on a weekday.I think staff here are not well trained.
Actually lovely! i didn’t get to fully appreciate the experience as i was so tired, but everything was so fresh and refreshing. i know everyone says that about meet fresh, but genuinely it was one of the first asian dessert joints that didn’t feel oversaturated with sugars in an attempt to accommodate more western tastes. there wasn’t a line at all and we ordered via the touchscreen which made the entire experience quite seamless.
Loved it here! I totally recommend. There was a line but surprisingly we were helped quickly AND got our order quickly as well which is a plus PLUS! We will definitely come back.
My husband and I come here just before eating curry from Coco’s. Closer to the evening, you can expect to wait from as little as 20-45 minutes to sit down and enjoy a bowl of taro. I’ve seen lines as long as 30 people waiting outside, usually groups of people waiting to sit. The desserts are different and may not be for everyone but I especially love the iced meet fresh signature with extra taro balls. I made the mistake once of asking for extra taro and I was not happy with my dessert.
I love Chinese food and desert!
I used to like going to this place with friends for dessert. However, I just experienced an impatient and rude service today after I finished my busy work. I was blamed when I used the pen on the table for signature since I mistakenly heard he wanted me to sign. And the guy spoked rudely and aloudly to me that I should not use the pen and didn’t even want to touch the pen. I totally understand people is kind of sensitive during the special period. But as a normal person, I think we should respect each other. I would feel sorry if I used it without permission, but I would like you change the attitude to customer and suggest you to have a DO NOT TOUCH sticker or hide the pen from the public area.I will not come to this place anymore since I am worried about missing any their “unposted rules” and been regarded as “untouchable”.
This is the first place Ive been to outside of China and Taiwan where the dessert is this good. It was perfect
Portions are huge! I got the Double Taro Special and it was more than enough for me and my friend. The flavor reminds me of my days as a kid. Definitely a place to check out if youre interested in some contemporary takes on traditional Chinese desserts.
Rude service, not particular good quality, taste is ok. $7 for ice and grass jelly but the worst part is the rude employees and possibly even the manager or owner who works here. Hot days in SoCal had me coming here everyday. I’ve been spending consistently $7-15 each day here after today I won’t be coming back. Over paying for ice and grass jelly and taking stinking attitude is just not worth it! I would be happy to pay the high price, not the issue but rudeness. Will be looking for another grass jelly and ice place. The star ratings explains why this place is rated low. Rude mediocre quality and expensive
Huge menu, so many bomb choices. I havent found my go-to yet. But I will. Trust me, I will breh.
Yummy desserts and drinks!
HORRIBLE ATTITUDE STAFF OF ALL TOMEMeet fresh management should really work on your employee training and staff education program. The staff here has no respect to the customer at all! I am a loyal customer of Meet Fresh global wise, and the locations in U.S. has the worst customer service.2/16, I was in store at 11:05, and we waited for 5 minutes in line, one of the employee sees me, and told me there are close with a bad tone, I walked out, but then I think the tone really made me uncomfortable, so I walked back in and told her she should told us when we walk in or when we stand in line. She yelled at me said she was doing something else, she has no camera to check if there’s more people walking in.I told her that her attitude is being weird, and she told me back because my attitude was weird to her.By the time I left the store, there’s still more people standing in line, but no one acknowledge them that the store is closed already, with the front door open.Last year at meet fresh, the employee told another customer “ I’m gonna ask you to leave your pet outside” this is not the kind of attitude that every/any customer is looking for or expecting. Please! Meet fresh management, take care of your employees and set up training program for them before work!!
Stop by here when I get the chance. I just love their grass jelly herbal milk tea. No one around here makes it like them. They only have one size cup which is annoying! But great service and there are a few of these in so cal.
This is my happy place. Although 100% recommend to order your drink separately from the food so the drink isnt just sitting there getting cold if its a hot drink and vice versa. Its usually worth the wait if thats what youre craving since it all taste delicious.
Slowest service at a meet fresh I’ve ever been to and the girl taking our order was kind of rude. She asked us to wait about 4 minutes at the register before she took our order and any questions I asked she ignored.
It is so amazing to have this amount of choices of all of this Taiwan Exquisite Dessert. I left the decision making up to my friend and he chose the Signature Icy Grass Jelly and the Hot Rice Ball Tofu. It was a good contrast for the hot & cold and differing flavors throughout both of them. While he noticed the hot one was only warm, it was still delicious with very soft flavorful rice balls on the bottom and creamy supple tofu floating on top of the delicious sweet warm bath. The Icy Grass Jelly was even better, with the shaved ice keeping it chilled and providing pops of flavorful coldness in between the grass jelly, taro balls, and cream. This place was packed with people for dessert after dinner and even more people paraded as we were leaving. The staff did a great job handling the line and getting the desserts out pretty quickly. There is a decent amount of seating, but it is clearly not always enough at the busier times. The put your tray up and clean up after yourself only works with some people, as we had to wipe down our table from the last customers who left a bit of a soupy sugary mess on it.
Come here if you like many others who cant forget the great stuff in Taiwan and willing to settle for favor a little less authentic here. Be prepare to bust your own tray by carrying them all the way back to the dish washing area near the rest room.
The place its nice and clean. The staff its very friendly.A little expensive.I dont know if its normal but we waited about 10 minutes to get our order ready. My drink was ok and my girlfriend dessert was ok as well.So far so good.
Not as good as before? The grass icy taste watery. It doesnt have the same flavor that I came to love about Meet Fresh. I wonder if they watered it down for public taste? Or cost cutting? But for sure, I probably will not come here anymore, but save my Meet Fresh taste buds for the real thing in Taiwan.
It was our first time here and we ordered the Pudding & Q mochi shaved ice but they didnt give us any pudding. Sadly we didnt notice until after we left the restaurant. Pretty disappointing.
Amazing!
I like getting their wintermleon iced tea with grass jelly, half sweet. Their grass jelly here is so so good! I come here for drinks so not too sure how the other dessert stuff are.
Such bad service! I love this place because the dessert here is incredibly good, but tell me why there is only 4 people working? And only one person helping us order. I order 4 bowls but they only put 2 bowls. If we didn’t notice, we would have to line up on that big giant line again. And last thing, there was no herbal ice! But all in all the dessert here is very good! I really recommend it but the only thing is that the service is not the best.
Tends to get VERY crowded (good luck finding seating if you come at the wrong time), but the desserts are so good. Pretty much all their toppings are a safe option, but would recommend their taro balls (of course), boba, rice balls, taro itself, and grass jelly. As for which item to order, my family/friends and I personally like Taro Ball #4 and Meet Fresh Signature. I have yet to try any of their hot desserts, but I wouldnt doubt that those are delicious as well.
Food is great but theres always a long line. They somehow refuse to turn on the a/c and seem to blame patrons for leaving the front door open. Like cmon, 85/BCD/Afters doesnt have that problem at all and they have tons of business. Just lower the temperature in there. Otherwise, prices arent bad and selection is huge.
The service gave me a bad attitude. She was really rude. But the boba and grass jelly #5 was amazing.
It was good. Probably not really worth what they charged though.
The service is very bad. Employee cashier seems so rude today. Terrible service.
Much nicer and cleaner than the original restaurant in Taipei. Love the Ice fresh meet signature bowl, not crazy about the taro balls but the herbal jelly is perfect. Great place to stop on hot evenings. Parking in the mall is a challenge, too many cars and bad drivers.
I struggled between rating them at 3 or 4 stars, if possible I would put 3.5. The reason is though I like their grass jelly or shave ice or tofu pudding, nothing really stand out as amazing good. Their portion is big, so you cant really finish one. Its a good place to go to hangout, but not if you just want a quick drink
I am ADDICTED to grass jelly from Meet Fresh. My favorites are:1. Signature Herbal Jelly (adding boba)2. Signature Taro Ball (if I want to chew a lot that day)3. Herbal Tea with Whipped Cream (my favorite of all time!)4. Black Oolong Tea (if you want something really fresh and light that day)5. Winter Melon Tea (fresh light tea with some sweetness)6. Traditional Milk Tea
Best mochi legit traditional desserts ever! A bit crowded. Love the self order counter/computers.
Many great choices, quick service even though always busy.
Plenty of spaces and delicious dessert options for any weather. They have both hot and cold desserts, as well as tea drinks. If you use the self-order computer, you cant accumulate the points.
If you want to avoid the long line, there’s a self order machine by the cashier counter. It takes around 10-15 for the food to be prepared depends on how crowded it is. Taro balls are delicious, highly recommended for anyone who seeks for traditional Chinese dessert
Very delicious desserts! Not too sweet, the flavors are just right. The Taiwanese sweet tofu! Delish!
Despite being pretty busy, you get your dessert very quickly. We ordered the Meet Fresh Signature and it was delicious. I highly recommend this option if you are looking for something refreshing and tasty.
My favorite Tawainese dessert joint. Great refreshing dessert and a place to hang out. It tends to get pretty busy in the evening but the wait once you order isnt so bad. Myfavorite is the cold meet fresh signature, winter melon drink, & herbal blended ice with herbal jelly whipped cream.
Covid19 Jun 13: As of today, pick up only still with no dine in. You can order online to pick up! NO cash accepted, cards only!
My favourite is the tofu pudding, but the herbal jelly and taro chunks are excellent here as well. Tofu pudding and herbal jelly options are sweet but not overly so. The taro shaved ice was delicious and creamy, but much sweeter.
I love this place. Good for groups, pairs, alone or family. If you dont know where to have a relaxing afternoon or anytime in the day, try this place and have a good order of drink. Enjoy
I wondered why the line is so long at this place until I tried their herbal jelly milk tea. Its all about herbal jelly at this place. Its amazingly good. Also to mention mochi and their signature dishes are delicious!
It’s a refreshing take on shaved ice, boba and ice cream. And the ambience of this place never disappoints
Delicious Taiwanese dessert. I cant get enough of their shaved ice with herbs and grass jelly. Super tasty, worth at least one visit. I go regularly with my family.
Good Taiwanese desserts. Shaved ice, drinks, etc. I love it because its not as sweet as normal desserts. Busy nights this place can have a line out the door. But you can say that about most places in DJ.
Great Taiwanese desserts like herbal jelly and tofu pudding. Available both hot and cold (shaved ice). Also very flavorful almond tofu.
Came here the second day it was opened. Ordered the daily special shaved ice with grass jelly and small toro balls. The ice was delicious and had grass jelly flavor soaked into the fine ground ice. I enjoyed every bite of it.The wait was a bit long though. I waited about 20 min before finally ordering my food and another 5-10 min for the ice to be served.
Favorites shaved ice. First had it in Taipei, so glad in can find them in Irvine. Long live the Taro Balls and winter melon jellies!! YUM!!
Get the cold signature dessert on a hot day. Its creamy and full of complex flavors but its not too sweet. Amazing.
Pretty good Taiwanese specialty dessert location. If you grew up eating these foods or feel particularly adventurous, you would enjoy it here. Lots of seating in a cozy ambience.
Came here for lunch as a recommendation from a friend. Although I would advise against having shaved ice for lunch LOL. I got the Meet Fresh Signature. It was great! Had grass jelly, taro balls, syrup, and sweet milk. Taro balls were really nice and chewy. Shaved ice had a syrup in it and the milk made it taste great with the grass jelly. Slightly pricey. Overall it was $7. I didnt get a rewards card from them because I thought I wouldnt come back, but that was a mistake. Will definitely be getting the rewards card from them next time, but just warning it costs $1.Service was pretty fast. They mixed up my order with someone elses at first. Good thing they realized it fast because I almost ate the other order.Would definitely come back again to get another shaved ice or try their tea.
Meet Fresh at this particular location is very popular and its one of my favorite places to go as well
This place is a must try at least once for the hot desserts as something different. Excellent combinations of taro, boba, jellies, herbal jelly. Dont be fooled the beans dont make it healthy (theres tons of sugar) but its a fun try.
Nice place to go if youre looking for a sweet treat thats not cake or ice cream.
The Service: When we walked in the store, Now Hiring sign was displayed at the door. Oops... not a good sign. Yes, very short staffed. 2 staffs on duty, one was at the cashier taking order, the other staff was preparing the orders. The service was extremely slow. Many dirty dishes on the table because it was so busy none of them had time to leave the counter and cleaned up the tables. Around 2:30pm, I guess they were switching the shifts, one staff left while many customers are waiting for their orders?? Poor guy have to do everything by himself.... None of the them had smile on their faces, poor customer service. The Food: We ordered the Herbal Jelly #4 & #6. They are NOT hot at all. Just slightly warm. The pictures on the wall & one the menu look much better than the real dessert. For $7, not much ingredient, lots of sugar water. Very disappointed for our first visit. The boba were tough and didnt taste freshly made at that day. Also, both our bowls are chipped? It is a terrible presentation!!The Parking: Big plaza parking lot (FREE)
My fav dessert!! Don’t forget to get the signature icy grass jelly and herbal tea with grass jelly. They are the best!
New and Fresh... Be prepared for the crowd, even at night, the line does go out the door... They are quick though, so worth eating there!
Friendly cashiers and drink makers. The shaved ice dessert was interesting, Ive never had anything like it, theres a particular aroma that I didnt like about one of the components on my shaved ice. Overall I was satisfied.
I love this dessert place. Theyre not cheap but theyre good.
This spot is a must go to for Taiwanese desserts! They have a great selection of cold and warm desserts! I recommend getting the sesame balls with your desserts! It takes 10 mins for them to prepare, but its well worth it!
The freakin best yum yums! If youre looking for Asian dessert yums or want to experience them. Come here and enjoy what they have to offer. Something for everyone. :)
